Saleh Abu Sardanah: "I used to work in the field of architecture and decoration, and I was skilled at my work because I worked with love and passion, but the Israelis destroyed everything, my home and my work, and I had nothing left here except my children, my wife, my mother, and my brothers. I want help to rebuild my house, feed my family, and other basic life needs, because it is my city and I love it as much as I love my family."
Tawfik Al-Tatri: This one has been vetted by me a long time ago but has been vetted once again by Mohammed! But months have gone by since they last received a genuine stream of donations. "I live in a refugee camp with my children because of the destruction of my home and repeated displacement, something that no one can bear because of our presence in a tent and the extreme cold at night."
Fadi & Ahmed Ishtewi: Their family has lost 10 members from the bombings. "This news remained for several days and we were unable to obtain confirmed information, until certain news came after we communicated with several parties in Gaza through journalists on social media sites, and they confirmed the martyrdom of their uncles and the injury of their younger brothers, some of them seriously." Please support them through their displacement and grief.
Faten's family: This family is dealing with unlivable conditions. "We were displaced for the third time after the occupation forced us to move to the south of the Strip, and we did not take anything with us. We lived for days in freezing cold and heavy rain. We also experienced extremely hot weather that no human could bear. There was a shortage of water and food, and our health deteriorated due to malnutrition and the spread of diseases in shelter centers." Please suppoet them in their displacement.
Weam Fan: "My mother suffers from severe back pain due to a slipped disc caused by the exhausting conditions of living in tents for a long period. She needs urgent medical treatment, and I am striving to get her to travel for treatment as soon as the border crossing opens. The healthcare situation in Gaza makes it difficult for her to receive the necessary treatment, so she needs to travel abroad to get the care she needs."

thinking about how welton handled neil's suicide.
the way mr nolan's speech about neil committing seemed rehearsed, how they barely spent any time talking about him and more time talking about the investigation.
it got me thinking... how many students were there before neil? how many, before him, had done the exact same thing for similar or differing reasons.
how many times had mr nolan have to repeat that exact same speech? or maybe it was more heartfelt with the first student, but as each year, yet another students couldn't take it anymore, mr nolan's speech grew shorter and colder.
maybe they covered it up just as well, or even better than, neil's suicide. maybe there were no inspiring teachers back then, no one that gave the students a reason to metaphorically stand on their desks.
i don't know, i'm just... thinking.

Alaa has had her tumblr account terminated for the SECOND TIME, resulting in her being unable to continue her efforts to campaign for herself and her children at a VERY crucial time. It should infuriate you to see this happen, especially in light of the recent smear campaign against palestinian gfms. We can assume now that many of the Palestinian blogs have been deactivated, because of baseless reports of being scams.

We CANNOT let this fundraiser be stagnant. Alaa and her two children are suffering from hepatitis, and malnutrition. Their lives are on the line and they need medical care ASAP!
Her life wasn't always like this! Before October 7, Alaa led a peaceful life with her family which consisted of her children, husband, in-laws and immediate family, but soon the nightmare began and came to a head on October 28, when her neighborhood got bombed in its entirety.
Alaa escaped certain death that night as her house collapsed and trapped her family in. Debris choked them all, and they had to be rescued from under the rubble and shattered glass. Alaa describes what she witnessed that night as "unimaginable"- death, corpses and blood, surrounded the family.
Even after this tragedy, the pain did not let up and chased them to the Rimal neighborhood. The bombing continued and Alaa had to put wet masks on Maria and Hamza, so that the children could endure the terrible smoke and burning smell. Things got so bad throughout the next few months that Hamza who is only 3 years old, now talks only of bombings, rockets and tanks.
I want to remind you that Maria, Alaa's little daughter, has contracted hepatitis after being displaced for the third time, where they had to flee to Rafah. Being overcrowded, one can only access shared bathrooms which are primary causes of such viral infections. The children have suffered from epidemics and skin diseases, and the little tent Alaa has managed to acquire can barely sustain life in summer heat
On top of that, there is hardly any nutritious food and clean drinking water- which means that at one point, the family had to survive on weeds and bread made from animal feed. I cannot tell you how horrible this is! How Alaa and her children still suffer even now. In fact, at the moment of writing this post, Alaa messaged me about her tent shaking due to bombings nearby.
So I urge you not to ignore her, please, and help her reach her short term goal of 6K within the next 2 days !!

(siraj hopes to meet this goal by sunday 11/08.) the money will go toward food and medicine, but more importantly toward building supplies that siraj will use to rebuild his home and create a safe shelter for his family.
