Ravens Valley, from a Storyteller.

I’m not here to teach (or educate) anything to anyone but only as a reminder about the benefits of nature which, has its own limits. Wilderness cleans our air, filters our water and provides home for human as well as for wildlife. So it is crucial for humanity, which is already to blame, to bring radical changes today before it’s entire extinction tomorrow. That is my only intention here folks. #BirdNest

This afternoon I stumbled on a bird's nest laying there on the ground. It ain't the first one found at my feet. It had surely fallen from a tree due to bad weather. The nesting season is over now and no one has been hurt for sure. It was probably built by a couple of House Finch or Black-capped Chickadees who have the habit to build their nests low above the ground.

It is completely without any damage and like the others, I'll find a nice place for it inside my glass-door feathers cabinet.

#RedWingedBlackbird

Mature Red-winged Blackbird enjoying some black oil sunflower seeds. And this little one is probably new in the area; he’s so stressed out that I had to slow down the speed while remastering the video.

#PurpleFinch

Gram'Pa Purple Finch out for his weekly visit. It is funny and also a bit sad...

By instinct we used to think that all birds migrate and that it's a normal process. Sadly not all of them are still able to. Like all of us they get old and sometimes gain weight. Those ones who are force to stay the entire winter with us take a chance and count roughly on their survival skills.

I built some shelters for those brave ones who are left behind and continue to feed them but unfortunately most of them die. This is one sadly part of a bird's life. Like all of us. There's nothing more to do except enjoying their presence while they are here.
