Couple's night 🍰🍓

Welcome to: I am indecisive in nearly every aspect of my life, including art and character design, so instead of settling for one thing, I give my characters entire wardrobes! And somehow it's still not enough.

A little history and trivia under the cut, for anyone who's interested. :P

I drew Isis for the first time way back in 2016 as a one-off humanized version of that GIF of an axolotl playing the piano, but that drawing is long gone, unfortunately. I didn't think about her again until 2019 where something jogged my memory of said drawing, and I decided to revive her. It was at that point I also decided I didn't want her to be lonely and ended up giving her a boyfriend, who manifested himself in the form of a grumpy sea slug boy named Hai. Lol.

They live on an old-fashioned little island called Hydra Angos in the middle of the ocean with a population of about 4,500. Think something like Bar Harbor or Mackinac, except the technology is old and extremely limited (those old box TVs, rotary phones, cassette tapes, film cameras, etc...).

In typical shoujo manga enemies-to-lovers fashion, Hai and Isis dislike each other at first, but it doesn't take long for them to grow attached to each other. They have that cute little puppy love thing going on.

A couple side characters I redesigned for a “story” that I’m “””writing””” …Jk. It’s been festering in my head since 2019 and the most I’ve gotten out of it is a mediocre outline. I’m not built to be a writer, but I CAN draw the characters! Oh boy, can I draw them.

I plan on redesigning the actual main couple too, so they should be showing up eventuallyyyyy… Maybe.
