What is mdni?

MDNI is an abbreviation of "minors do not interact."

I don't know if it'll help, but maybe going through the "proship dni", "safeship", or "selfship" tags might be useful? If you haven't blocked anyone using those tags, then you might find DNIs that are like "proshitters dni and go kys" or something since you can sometimes find that there.

I'd also recommend checking the people's pinned posts on those tags if you do go through them, since antis tend to hide their DNIs/hate in their pinned/carrds/bios at times for some odd reason.

Either way, reblogging this so others can help out more than I can, since personally I don't really wanna read anti-shippers being hateful right now for my own mental health's sake.

Update on this: I'd commented on a TikTok just yesterday where the creator was talking about how censoring on TikTok is stupid, and how it waters down the situations that are actually going on.

The comment I left on the TikTok featured words such as kill, rape, and porn without any censoring, and I have yet to receive any warnings about it.

Maybe it has something to do with the app picking up on the words used in certain contexts ( fx. threats, ) but you can certainly say them in some cases either way.

I was rereading my previous post about the TikTok censorship culture/thing, and it made me wonder what part of it isn't actually censorship, but in reality the algorithm doing it's thing.

I mean, it's already known how flaky and unreliable the TikTok censoring is at times, and also known that the algorithm on TikTok can get really specific, too.

So if that's the case, who's to say that the censoring "trend" isn't just people engaging more with the censored content, which then pushes more censored content to those people?

Who's to say that it isn't because they use those censored words in comments/videos, which is then picked up on by the app, and then has the algorithm show more content using that language to them?

Watch time could also be a factor since TikTok also picks up on that. So if a word like "rape" makes a person uncomfortable and scroll as a result, then that could also affect it in one way or another.

I don't know lmao maybe I'm just reaching, or this is a really obvious thing I'm realizing only now.

Shout-out to proshippers/darkshippers like me who partake in the dark media we consume, not because we've been through the abuse/trauma depicted, but because what we've already been through doesn't feel "valid enough."

I promise you, you aren't bad for having an urge to go through "worse." It's a natural response your brain has when your pain and hurt doesn't feel validated enough. I can guarantee you that whatever you've been through- even if "small"- isn't something to simply be ignored or treated as lesser.

You were hurt, and you deserve the acknowledgement and support for that like any other survivor does. Sometimes people and society just tend to overlook trauma that isn't on the extreme end, even if all trauma is just that no matter the "degree": trauma.

I know it probably doesn't mean much coming from a stranger on the internet, but I'm proud of you for finding a coping mechanism where you don't go out and hurt yourself. Personally I'd rather have you, or anyone in general, consume your darkfiction, than go and seek out abuse in real life.

You are not evil for enjoying “icky” things in media, you are not a bad person for what you ship, the way you cope is your business, you have the right to mess around with characters the way you see fit in a judgement-free space, you are not your thoughts, proshippers who aren’t into anything “problematic” are valued members of the community, you belong in fandom spaces, anyone who’s close to you who leaves you for something as simple as being anti-censorship is someone you don’t want to be around anyways!!
