“Once upon a time, there were four gods who were in charge of watching over the four seasons of earth: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. One day, the God of Spring, was on earth when he fell in love with a flower name Freesia. Every day and night, they would see each other, sharing tales, singing, and laughing. Each second they spent was valuable because, deep down, they both knew that time was ticking—that Spring will have to leave once his time on Earth has ended.

“The day came to an end, and eventually the God of Summer came, but without mercy. The sun pierced Freesia, drying her of water. Then came the God of Autumn, deteriorating her once beautiful petals. Lastly, the God of Winter was the most cold-hearted of them all, making Freesia suffer in the freezing temperature.

“When Spring finally returned, he was heartbroken when he discovered that his beloved flower withered to the ruthlessness of the other three seasons. He cried, and cried, and cried. And once he was done, he stood up and wasted no time growing flowers again, in hopes that one day, Freesia would blossom and return.”

■Jungkook has waited too long to finally make you his and he doesn’t care who he hurts.

The boy laughed as you fell to the floor. He had pushed you so hard even your bag slid five feet away. Your head hit the tile-patterned floor, causing you to see little black spots. His brown tresses came into your line of vision as he bent over you.

“Sorry about that. I didn’t see you there,” he smiled and offered his hand.

His hand was swatted by your best friend, Kim Seokjin.

“I got her, Jungkook,” Jin helped you to stand and grabbed your bag.

Jungkook’s face turned sour when the upperclassmen hit his hand. Jungkook loathed the times Jin interrupted his time with you. He always had to be, as you said, your hero.

Messing with you was the only time Jungkook could talk to you. Even before he started to bully you every day, you stayed away. He never understood why. He knew you wouldn’t talk to him willingly so he decided to make it impossible for you to avoid him. It’s the only reasonable solution to this problem. Now he can see you every day.

But Jin or Lisa ruined it in some way. Lisa was your other best friend. She was always late to class so Jungkook didn’t have to worry about facing her fury until later.

Lisa was boisterous while you were the complete opposite. Jungkook didn’t know how the two of you became friends. Just as he didn’t understand a lot of humans and they’re thinking process.

Jungkook believed it was normal to do everything he can to see you or just get your attention. But you’re no closer to liking him. He came to the conclusion of stepping his game up.

He’ll offer you a deal you can’t refuse.

Jungkook wasn’t able to confront you until that next week. It was harder to keep Jin and Lisa out of school than it was to understand emotions. He couldn’t have them there if he wanted his plan to work.

Jungkook had learned your schedule soon after you caught his eye. He had asked the professor where you sat, leaving the note he put three hours of thought into. Of course, he didn’t write who it was from, he knew you would never meet with him. Especially if you were alone. The note told you to meet him at the fountain after your second class. All he had to do was wait.

Once you read the note, it confused you. Who left this here?? The letter “K” at the end didn’t ring any bells. Whoever left this put a lot of thought into their writing and word choice. You figured, why not.

Arriving at the fountain you waited for the mystery writer to show. Jungkook came up and sat next to you.

“What do you want?” your voice cracked as you kept your head down.

“I’m meeting someone,” he smiled hoping you would connect the dots.

You sat there pondering on whether it could really be him that wrote the letter.

Risking a glance you saw he was staring at you.

“I’m guessing it’s me,” you said quietly, disappointment filled your heart. You were excited to meet the person behind the carefully written heartfelt letter but it was only the man that tormented you.

You’re smart. Jungkook found that attractive.

“Correct.”

“Why?” you were frustrated. You wanted to go home.

“Because I like you,” Jungkook’s cheeks became red.

“Bullshit! If you liked me then you wouldn’t hurt me every day!” your bout of anger ended when Jungkook stood in front of you.

He tried his best to stay calm, “That’s the reason I mess with you. There was no other way.” His jaw clenched and hands balled up into fists. Don’t look at him like that. Like you hate him. It broke his heart to think you felt even a tiny bit of resentment towards him.

“Calm down, sweetheart,” he took a deep breath. “I’m going to make this as clear as can be. You’re going to be mine. My love, my everything. We’re going to be a couple and show everybody that you’re mine and I’m yours. Do you understand?” Jungkook gently put his hands on your shoulders. His eyes held what could only be seen as infatuation.

“Do you know how absurd that sounds? Jungkook, you can’t make me date you,” you pushed his hands off your shoulders to step away.

“Actually, I can,” he pulled out his phone and opened the gallery. Jungkook gave you his phone to see the photos he took.

It was Jin and Lisa tied to chairs looking beaten and bruised. You frantically sought out for any indication they’re fake. But you couldn’t find any.

“If you show me that you love me then I’ll let them go. If not then they’re going to die. The same thing will happen if you go to the police or anyone else for help.” He smiled thanking the photo editing app he paid for.

“You’re fucking insane,” you tossed him his phone.

“Insane is such a mean word. I prefer mentally creative,” he pocketed his phone before grabbing your hand to lead you to his car. “Don’t worry, my love. I’ll take good care of you.”

Jungkook opened your door and closed it once you got in. After quickly getting into the driver’s seat he looked at you expectantly. You looked at him with a questioning expression.

“You have to give me a kiss whenever I want one,” he smiled as he watched you with his large doe eyes. “And you have to mean it.”

Blushing, you cursed your face’s betrayal. You took no pleasure in appeasing this cute but psychotic man.

You leaned towards him and pecked his lips to get it over with but Jungkook wouldn’t let you off that easily.

He brought his hands to the sides of your face to deepen the kiss he’s been longing for.

Jungkook’s eyes were dazed after pulling away.

“You have no idea how much I’ve dreamt of kissing you,” his eyes focused on yours, showing how serious he really was.
