October 13th. Your boyfriends birthday. THE Park Jimin. An idol running the K-pop industry along side his six best friends. You and Jimin have been together for 4 years, but married for 2. He was always showing you how much he loved you despite him always traveling. He always made sure he left you a message or called you. This year for his birthday he would be busy with performances. You told Jimin you wouldn't be able to make it to the performance as you had gotten sick. He was a bit disappointed that you wouldn't see him perform and spend his birthday with him. But you promised him you would make it up to him when you felt better.
"Alright baby, I'm going to head on out." He plants a kiss on your forehead as you lay on the couch.
"Good luck and happy birthday, I'll see you when you get home." He grabs his bag and walks out the door. You shoot up from your comfortable position on the couch to see him leaving your driveway. You quickly make your way to bedroom to grab a clean pair of clothes. Jimin wouldn't perform for a couple hours leaving you with enough time to dress, and make sure his surprise was really. You have been hiding it for a a couple days now.
A couple of hours have passed and you make your way to the arena where the boys would have a show case at. You text Jimin.

You couldn't describe how much you loved Jimin. Whenever you had a fight, you would both try to work it out, not wanting to fall asleep angry with on another. You remember the day he proposed to you. It was winter, you were out for one of your date night, walking through the snowy city after eating dinner. Jimin led you to the part of town that had the most beautiful lights during the Christmas season. You both started a snow ball fight with each other. You accidentally hit him in the back of the head and he goes down groaning and holding his head. At first you were laughing at him thinking he was a drama queen, but after a minute of him groaning and not laughing like you were you started to get worried that some how a rock or something hard was in the snow you threw at him and walked closer to him.
"Jimin are you okay?" He didn't respond and you walked closer to him placing your gloved hand on his shoulder. He turns to look at you and smiles. He repositions himself into one knee and holds out the most beautiful ring to you.
" My actings pretty good isn't it?" You both chuckle as tears well up in your eyes. You couldn't be mad at him for making you worried that you hurt him when he's here proposing to you.
"Y/n, my love these have been the best two years of my life and I can't see my future without you. I love you even more as each day passes by. I had a whole speech prepared but I think you hit me so hard I forgot it." You laugh even more and wipe the tears off your face. "Will you marry me?" You nod your head unable to get any words out of your mouth. He stands up and kisses you. Slipping your glove off and the engagement ring on.
The taxi stops and bring you out of your thoughts. You made it to the arena where Jimin was performing. You pay and make your way to the stage door. The staff allowed you in, already in on the surprise. They were told not to tell Jimin you were here. You pull out your phone and text the rest of the BTS members.

You take your seat along with everyone else and wait for the performance to start. You loved seeing Jimin perform. He was so passionate about singing and dancing. His movements were graceful no matter which type of dance it was. With each passing minute you grew nervous about his gift. You didn't know why exactly you knew he would love it. He's been wanting one for so long. After awhile all the boys came out and performed there hearts out for their fans.
After the performances the boys left the stage and you say in your seat waiting for someone to come get you.
"Miss Y/n." You look up and see Sejin. "Are you ready?" You nod and follow him to the room the boys would be in. Jungkook comes around the corner with a cake. He walks up to the door as you step out of the way taking a deep breath.
"Don't worry, he'll love it." You smile up at the maknae and help him light the candles. The door opens and everyone starts to sing Jimin happy birthday. He notices you and his face immediately lights up even more. Jimin blows out the candles and comes and kisses you. With shaky hands you give him the present. He unwraps the box and opens it. His eyes widen as he sees what's inside. Yoongi comes around and looks over Jimin's shoulder.
"Baby shoes. Cute." Jimin is frozen looking at the pregnancy test and the baby shoes. He didn't give you a reaction and it made you worried.
"Jimin, say something." Taehyung backhand Jimin's chest.
"I'm going to be a dad." He looks at you with a huge smile on his face, reaching into his eyes. "That's wonderful!" He brings you into a hug. "How far along are you?"
"8 weeks, but I found out just a couple of days ago." He grabs your head and plants kisses all over your face.
"Is that why you've been sick so lately."
"It is. But I came and watched you perform, you did amazing like always." Jimin turns around and looks at his band mates.
"You all knew before me?" They all shake there heads.
"is it a boy or a girl?" He turns back to look at you.
"It's too soon to tell."
"This is the best present ever." He kisses you again. "You'll be a wonderful mother Y/n." He places his hands and your stomach.
"And you'll be a wonderful father Jimin."
"I call being the god father of the Bangtan baby!" Yoongi yells out to everyone. You all laugh.

The first time it happens, you donât think anything of it. Neither does he.
The hour train ride to Seoul from Incheon wasnât as bad as you thought it would be. You were seated towards the front exit and all the passengers seemed silent and tired. All you could hear were the sounds of the wind going against the train as you stared outside the window with your face pressed against the glass, admiring the blue sky along with all the cars and buildings.
You were about to close your eyes and drift off to go into a short slumber before the train came to a sudden halt, making you become fully awake. You shook your head, got up and rolled your metallic suitcase on the ground while pulling your phone out of your green hoodie to text your cousin, Taehyung that you safely arrived and asked where he was at.
At this time, you had recently turned seventeen, quietly grieving over the passing of your mother, but four months after her loss, you were forced to pack up everything that can fit in your suitcase to live with your aunt and her family as your father worked abroad, not wanting you to live that same lifestyle.
Your phone buzzed causing you to snap out of your thoughts. To your surprise, he was calling you which wasnât something he would do often. He would always decline your calls and would just text you back right away. He was one of those people who didnât want to use their voice over the phone. Not only that, but people couldnât tell if he was being idiotic or was joking when he asked bizarre questions.
Sliding your thumb to answer his call, you put the phone up to your left ear and stood on the tip of your toes to see if he was nearby. âHey, where are you? Are you even here?â
âIâm nearby your terminal.â You tried to scan the crowd for your cousin, but it was difficult when everyone was rushing to get on or off the train. âIâm by the posters in the back next to a really short blond dude.â You hear someone in the background get offended as you look far in the back, trying to identify Taehyung and the blond person who he said was next to him. âI think I see you! Do you see me waving?â
Taehyung waved at you and beckoned you to come over his direction as quickly as possible. You ended the call and groaned as you headed towards his way, knowing he wasnât going to walk towards you. He would have gone to where you were at, but he decided not to go and let you roll your silver suitcase to him and his friend.
âHey.â You greeted him with a small hug, not wanting to make him uncomfortable in front of the blond boy he was next to. âHow are you? How was the train ride? Any problems getting here? Was everything alright? Whenâs the last time youâve ate? Are you tired?â
âBesides the fact that my father forced me to move from everything I know and live here, Iâm feeling alright. I could go for some of your momâs rice cakes right now.â He rolled his eyes at you as you pulled away from his hug. His blond friend was staring at you, not knowing what to say or how to even introduce himself. You sighed and nudged Taehyung. âDid you think someone completely stole my identity and appearance or did you just happened to forget what your favorite cousin looked like?â
âOf course not. I just needed to make sure that was you! Besides, you changed your appearance!â He scoffed, trying to make himself sound believable. It had been four months since he had last seen you, and the only thing that was different was that your hair was now longer and you were a little bit taller, but those things werenât noticeable. It wasnât like you completely dyed your hair another color and changed the way you dressed. âBut god, that would have been super awkward if that had been someone else.â
âThanks for remembering what I look like when I did nothing,â you deadpanned and looked down at your suitcase. It wasnât that heavy, but you wanted to complain to give him a hard time. âAnd thanks for helping me get this. Youâre an amazing cousin.â
âYou have useful arms and legs that function too!â He argued, getting all agitated. âIn my defense, you saw me first and came to my direction before I could go over to where you were.â
âThatâs totally what happened.â You chucked as Taehyungâs friend was still staring at you. Compared to Taehyung, he wasnât that much shorter, perhaps three centimeters shorter, but you werenât surprised he was being teased and taunted about it. Unlike Taehyung who was wearing all black sweats, he was wearing a vibrant yellow flannel and ripped blue jeans with dark converse. You were actually impressed with his sense of style. âHi, Iâm Y/N.â
âJimin,â he said with a small smile on his face and pulled his left hand out. Smiling at his small gesture, you reached out and firmly shook his warm hand, examining his soft facial features. âTaehyungâs friend. Itâs a pleasure to meet you.â
You suppressed a gasp coming out of your mouth once your hand made contact with his. For two seconds, you held onto his hand, feeling a tingly sensation. By the look of his face, you could tell he felt it too and was startled. You hastily let go of his hand and reached to grab the cold handle of the carry-on. âShall we get going?â
âRight.â Taehyung agreed, grabbing the car keys out of his pocket of his black hoodie. He started walking ahead while you and Jimin walked behind him, side by side. With the corner of your eye, you see Jimin slow down, so you would be able to walk by his side. âThe car is nearby, so you donât have to drag it around much longer.â
You didnât understand the reason why Taehyung brought his friend to come pick you up. The only reason you could think of on why he brought Jimin here was that ever since your motherâs funeral, everything was not the same with Taehyung. Having a conversation with him was now awkward and silent because all he can think about is saying sorry that your mom died, and that reason was absolutely pathetic. He knew you hated the pity, but that was the only thing he could feel for you.
Everything with him used to be effortless. Although he lived an hour away, he was one of your best friends that you talked to on a daily basis. Of course, he would often tease you like an older brother would do, but he still knew how to be serious and would always try to comfort you whenever needed and you would do the same. But after the funeral, he started to become more worried about you and stopped texting you because he was afraid he would say the wrong things and upset you. He knew you didnât want to hear any sympathy, so he didnât say anything at all, and you missed the cousin who would always make you laugh and would ask about your day.
âHere, let me take that. Youâve had a long trip.â He took your suitcase away from you and held it behind him as the three of you wait for the valet. âYou know, Taehyung has told me a lot about you.â
âIs that so?â You raised your eyebrows at Taehyung, hoping he didnât mention anything to make you seem like you were a horrible, embarrassing person. âIf itâs anything of what I think it is, Itâs definitely not true and probably about himself.â
Jimin laughed at your comment, somehow making you feel a bit at ease with him. He looked at you causing his smile to grow bigger. âDonât worry, theyâre all good things, I can promise you that.â
âOh really?â You saw Taehyung look back to raise his eyebrows at his friend, giving a look of confusion as he gave the valet his car ticket. Jimin looked back at him, giving the same look. You bit your lower lip and tried not to laugh once you realize that Jimin was just trying to start a conversation with you, but he didnât know what to say. Â âIs that so? What things has he said?â
âWell, actually.â Jimin nervously laughed and used his free hand to scratch the back of his neck, trying to think of something to make up on the spot. He was cute, sweet and had the most squishable cheeks youâve had ever seen. His presence was actually tolerable, understanding why Taehyung brought Jimin instead of the other friends youâve met before. âI thought that would make you feel a bit more comfortable if I said that, but obviously that plan backfired on my part.â
âHey.â Taehyung saw a genuine smile on your face, something he hasnât seen for a long time. The last time he saw that from you was five months ago when the doctors had told you that your motherâs health was improving. He watched how Jimin smiled back at you. âThanks for trying, Jimin. It means a lot, truly.â
And it really did. You appreciated the fact that he didnât mention or ask you why you were moving here and tried to make you feel relieved about everything. He was trying to make you at home even though he didnât even know a single thing about you. For all he knew, you could have been a serial killer, yet he tried his best to make conversation. You liked the fact that he was making an effort to talk to you simply because he wanted to, not because he was forced to.
It seemed like there wasnât a day when you could go without someone being sorry towards you because of your mom, and it hurt. Of course, you didnât want to forget about your mom, but you didnât want someone to remind you constantly about your loss. And you were glad Jimin was shying away from that topic.
The valet quickly brought the car over and quickly went to grab your suitcase out of Jiminâs hand to put into the trunk of the car. âAlright now, everythingâs all settled and ready. Drive safe.â
âRoger that, Sir Kimberly Kim.â Your eyes widen as you heard Jimin say the same thing to the valet. You turned your head to Jimin as you get in the front seat of the car. He was staring back at you with a hint of happiness twinkling in his eyes. âNo way!â
âNo, no, no,â Taehyung repeatedly said, shaking his head at the situation. âThis cannot be happening. You guys canât possibly watch that same crap show he finds funny. I can barely stand him saying those catchphrases.â
There was an old show on the kidsâ network that would show these two teen best friends who were both polar opposites. They would argue all the time, but at the end, they solved ridiculous crimes together. It was a show your mother introduced you to at a young age while growing up, and you were absolutely hooked by the first episode where you knew all the catchphrases said in the show. The network hardly showed the re-runs of the show anymore and would show it only on the weekends in the middle of the night, so you were surprised that Jimin somehow knew about it too.
Jimin threw his head back and laughed before looking back into your eyes he found alluring. âI have a feeling weâre going to be great at torturing him.â
âYeah.â You smiled happily, something you havenât done in a while and resisted the urge to touch his squishable cheeks. âYou have no idea.â
âGosh, please donât be one of those couples that make-out in front of me too,â Taehyung teased earning a slap from you and Jimin. âHey! Iâm just saying I wouldnât be surprised if you guys ever get together at this point.â
The second time it happens, you were both getting more accustomed to each other, and you rolled your eyes because he did too.
Taehyung was running late.
It had been six months since you moved in, and he still wasnât used to you, living here. For example, there were times when he forgot to take you home from school and times when he had long sport practices, so you had to patiently wait two hours (without a single complaint) for him to be done. There were also times when you had to walk two miles home because he would leave early and would forget to come back to pick you up.
He had texted you that he had forgotten that his sports practice was going to be way longer than usual due to team dinner that night. He sent another text to you saying he had just texted Jimin who was now going back to school to pick you up and that he would make it up to you, something he had said the last six times he forgot about you.
You were more okay with Jimin taking you home, but you couldnât help but feel a bit nervous since this would be the first time you and Jimin were going to be alone without Taehyung. Over the last six months of you living here, you and Jimin had become good friends, but it never had gotten to the point where the two of you spent time alone. It wasnât that you were uncomfortable with him, but you were afraid he would be timid with you and not talk at all. You just assumed he talked to you because your cousin was there with you.
âSorry you had to come back and get me,â you said as you got in the passenger seat of his car. As you put your seat-belt on, he smiled at you. âIâm really fine with waiting for Taehyung. You didnât have to do this.â
âDonât worry about it. Itâs nothing really. How was your day?â He asked as he started driving and moving his head to the beat of the music playing on the radio. âDid anything new happen?â
âWell, do you remember Hye?â You look all over his car as it was your first time being in it. Jiminâs car was very spacious since he kept his car clean and tidy. There was no papers or trash lying around, and all his CDs were stacked in alphabetical order in the CD compartment next to the passenger seat. It was practically like riding in a new car from the car dealership. âThe one I told you and Tae?â
Jimin scrunched his nose and gave you a quick glance before looking back at the road. You noticed that he stopped bobbing his head and clenched the steering wheel. Taehyung had told you that Jimin didnât really drive much especially with people. You thought it was because he was probably a terrible driver and people always criticized him, but he was actually focused and careful driver, unlike Taehyung who sometimes get road rage over the littlest things and would stop abruptly and pump his brakes all the time to irritate you. âThe one who admitted to liking you, like, a week ago?â
âYeah, his feelings obviously changed today.â You grimaced and bit your lower lip in hesistation. âI feel so bad!â
âCome on, it canât be that bad. What did you do?â
âI kind of might have accidentally knocked him out in gym really hard in front of the whole class.â The words fumbled out of your mouth quickly.
âYou didnât!â He laughed, congratulating you as if what you did was an accomplishment to be proud of. His melodious laugh was contagious and caused you to start laughing as well. âI canât believe you actually managed to do that!â
âI didnât even know I can throw that hard, but, I mean, you would expect him to catch the ball or to move instead of letting it hit his face. I know it was my fault, but I mean, no one would stand there and do nothing if a fast ball was heading towards your face.â Jimin was still laughing, wanting to clap and high five you, but he didnât take his hand off the wheel. âHey! Itâs not funny.â
âIt actually is.â He shook his head and now tapped the tips of his fingers on the wheel, matching the steady tempo of the song. âGosh, I wish I could have been there to see it.â
âYou wish you were there to see me destroy Hyeâs pride or wish you saw the girlâs volleyball team practice in their shorts and spandex?â You joked, stifling your laughter as Jimin rolled his eyes and ignored your comment. âI thought you didnât like driving.â
âI donât.â He took a quick glance at you before looking back onto the road. âI only drive to school and then to home. After my license expires, I donât think Iâm going to drive anymore and just have other people drive me around. Honestly, driving is scary for me.â
Understanding his point of view, you nodded and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. Jimin was a cautious person, and you respected that. There wasnât anything else you could think of to talk about, so you decided to go with small talk. âHow was your day?â
âIt was good but probably not as great as yours.â You rolled your eyes at him as he makes a left turn when he should have made a right. âThe highlight of my day is actually this conversation.â
âWhere are we going?â You asked as he took another left. He was driving down a busy street and slowed down onto a busy street. âI live in the opposite direction, you know?â
âYou donât mind getting some ice cream, do you?â He was starting to slow down even more. âSorry, I should have asked. But do you mind? Itâll be my treat.â
âThatâs really nice of you, but you donât have to do that. Itâs really fine.â You look at the time in the car. âBesides, I donât want to bother you and waste your time when you could be studying or something.â
âNo, I want to,â he said, escalating to a complete stop to the curb. âI want to hang out with you. Itâs actually nice having it just the two of us.â
If you had known Jimin was going to be this assertive with you, you would have offered to spend more time with him alone. It seemed like your talks with Jimin seemed endless and were just full of laughter and smiles from the both of you. Sometimes heâd be like that when it was the three of you, but you learned he was more extroverted when it was just the two of you.
You and Jimin both get out of the car, eagerly rushing to get inside. There were some strangers on the sidewalk giving you strange looks as you entered the shop, looking at every inch of the place in awe. âWow.â
To your left, there was a gift shop with a bunch of ice cream related souvenirs and apparel. The whole shop had round tables all around, all waiting to be filled. There were stairs that lead to the upper level of the building. The upper level seemed like a more relaxed area where there were some high tables along with couches. You wanted to go upstairs and look out towards the window, but you decide not to say anything and followed Jimin. âItâs pretty fancy for a regular ice cream shop. Donât you think?â
âA tad bit.â Jimin shrugged his shoulders. He sat down on the stool and gestured for you to sit down next to him. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and put it on the granite counter as you wait to be helped. âYou havenât been here before?â
âI never knew such a place like this existed.â Now looking up at the scintillating chandelier that hung above your head, you shook your head. âI canât believe Iâm just coming here now.â
âYou make it seem like itâs Paris or something.â You rolled your eyes at his comment. âI thought Tae would have brought you here now. This used to be his favorite place to eat ice cream.â He bit the inside of his cheek, not knowing if you had heard what happened.
âWhat changed?â
âHe slept with the ownerâs daughter a few months back. I think it was right before you came here.â He explained awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. âThat didnât end well, obviously.â
âMakes perfect sense.â You nodded in agreement, being nonchalant about what he told you. âDonât worry, I know all about Tae and his way with girls. Itâs kind of disgusting, but Iâm cool with it, so no need to act like it doesnât exist.â
âThank goodness,â Jimin muttered out as the short shop attendant finally noticed you both and gave a list of options available. âI just didnât know if you knew.â
Looking down at the menu, Jimin smiled to himself, watching your eyes move as you try to read the whole thing quickly. He watched your eyebrows scrunched together as you try to find a flavor you wanted. âDo you know what you want to order?â
âThereâs too many options. Iâll just have whatever youâre getting.â You turned your head and see Jimin raising his eyebrows at you. âWhat? Is something wrong?â
âWhat if I just get a vanilla cone for the both of us?â You wrinkled your nose in disgust, hoping he didnât. To you, vanilla was a bland flavor that you couldnât stand. Ice cream was supposed to be sweet and colorful, you thought.
âLast time I checked, youâre not that kind of bland guy to get Vanilla.â He chuckled at your comment. âNow, hurry up and order.â
âAre you sure thatâs okay?â Jimin always asked you this question quite frequently. It was like he had to ask you permission to do something just in case he was afraid you wouldnât approve.
âYou ask me that a lot.â A smile on his face grew bigger once he saw you bite down on your lower lip, trying to stifle a giggle. âBut itâs totally fine. I like all of them honestly and I probably couldnât choose one.â You raised an eyebrow at him. âWhatâs with that stupid grin on your face?â
âYouâre counting on me to be the decisive one?â He teased, winking at you. âI didnât know you hold so much faith in me for picking the perfect and tasteful ice creams.â
âI swear, Jimin, if you put a crappy one, the ice cream will not be going down my mouth instead itâll go down your pants,â you threatened, but Jimin knew you wouldnât do that. He knew your bark was much worse than your bite.
âWow, I didnât know you were that cold. Perhaps I should just order all of them then and see which ones you do like? Will that make you more decisive about ice cream flavors?â
You were going continue the playful banter between the two of you, but you couldnât respond when the short store attendant had finally come.
âIs the lovely couple ready to order?â The short store attendant exclaimed, waiting for Jimin to order for the both of you. He shortly paused, rolled his eyes, and then returned to his normal self, ordering two scoops of cotton candy ice cream.
It happens for the third time, and Jimin was unfazed and laughed.
As Taehyung was getting busier with his sports practices, you started to become closer with Jimin where hanging out with him after school had become a new routine. Instead of waiting for Taehyung after school, Jimin would find you in the crowded halls after your last class and would take you home, so the two of you would just spend time together there. Jimin didnât mind if the two of you were just doing homework or watching dramas, he just wanted to spend time with you in any way possible.
For the first few days, Taehyungâs parents found it awkward were that he was there with you instead of their son. They were actually confused that he didnât come to play video games, but he had came to study and talk to you. It wasnât a big deal, but his parents made it into one when your aunt had asked Taehyung if he was okay with the two of you one night after dinner when everyone was dismissed and it was his turn to wash the dishes.
You were in your room, having your back leaned against the white wooden door as you listened to every word of their conversation through the thin walls. âYou want me to what? Iâm not going to tell Jimin to stop coming over here. Thatâs absolutely insane! He would go ballistic. Why would I do that?â
âWe just find it strange that heâs here with Y/N after school instead of you,â you heard your aunt say to Taehyung. She finished washing the glass dishes and talked her son as he was drying the plates with the paper towels. âI mean, heâs your best friend.â
âHeâs also hers,â he replied without no hesitation in his voice. âIâm perfectly okay with this because this is harmless Jimin weâre talking about. Jimin, the boy that played dolls with my younger sister. Not only that, but he makes her happy, and thatâs what your sister would have wanted for her own daughter. You should focus on that and want that too, especially with what she has been through this year.â
After that day, his parents slowly realized that he was right. They noticed how the two of you were always laughing happily although you two were just in the living room, finishing homework on the long coffee table. They noticed how you were finally smiling more often and were starting to socialize with people, finally opening up since the move. They had been thinking about if this would affect their sonâs happiness when they should have focused on yours.
About two months later, Jimin noticed how you werenât at school one day. He thought you were home with some sickness and were going to return the next day, feeling better, but he then noticed you and Taehyung werenât there the next day, and that next day had suddenly become a week.
âWhere did you and Y/N go?â Jimin asked Taehyung once he returned to school the following week. They were both in library during their free period, sitting silently at one of the round wooden tables in the back of the room. Jimin was pretending to read a book he had randomly picked up from the rack while Taehyung was doing all the homework he had missed without muttering a single complaint or question. âYou guys didnât answer any of my calls or voicemails. Did you guys forget how to pick a phone call?â
âDonât worry about it. We were at home and were just fine.â Taehyung tediously focused on his math homework. âThe answer to this problem is nine, right? I donât have my calculator out to check.â Â
âWhy were you guys at home? Is she at home now? Or is she in class?â Jimin asked in a hushed voice, ignoring Taehyungâs question concerning his maths assignment. âWhat happened? Is she okay? Are you okay? Did your charger break?â
âIâm going to take that as a yes.â Taehyung picked up his pencil from the table and started writing the problem down on his white lined sheet of paper. Â âWeâre both perfectly okay. Like I said, donât worry about it.â
âWhy is she home again?â Jimin was worried about you. He didnât like the tight feeling in his chest when he thought of the horrible scenarios on why you were gone. Had he done something wrong? Why werenât you answering any of his calls? Were you okay?
âShe just misses her mom a lot.â Taehyung wanted to smack his best friend once he saw the confused expression on his face. He grabbed his math textbook and threw it to Jimin who moved to the side to avoid getting hit. The students and librarian gave him a nasty glare and then continued to ignore him and Jimin.
âWhat was that for?â He asked, trying not to raise his voice in the library.
âItâs been a year since her mom died, idiot.â
Jimin skipped the rest of his afternoon classes and drove to your house after he got a lengthy lecture from Taehyung about how to be a better friend. He knocked on the front door and waited approximately five minutes for you to open the door. He stood outside with a box of cotton candy ice cream and two spoons in his hand. A smile appeared on his face once he saw you. He stared at how your hair was all tangled up and how you had the darkest bags around your eyes, showing you hadnât slept for about a week. You stood there, wearing your white baggy sweats and bunny slippers with a heavy, green blanket wrapped around you, watching him stare at you. âLetâs talk.â
And the two of you did. Jimin saw the stacks of movies on the coffee table and picked the old version of the Lorax to put in the DVD player. He had a soft smile on his face once he turned around to see you already opening the ice cream he brought. You shared and wrapped the blanket around him, not wanting him to be cold. He talked throughout the entire movie, trying to make you smile and laugh but all you did was sat there, reading the subtitles on the screen and silently listened to all his thoughts.
âMy mom loved this movie.â You put the empty box of ice cream down and gulped down whatever was in your throat. Although you and Jimin were close, this was the first time you were talking about your mom. âMy dad actually hated it, but he would always watch it with her just to see her all happy and laugh. I was scared to watch it because I thought I would freak out, but Iâm glad you were here and talked throughout the whole thing.â
âOf course.â You closed your eyes and leaned your head on his right shoulder as he put his arm around you. His thumb was rubbing the side of your arm in small circles, comforting you. âWhat was she like?â
âYou would have liked her a lot.â He nodded. âShe was really funny and laughed way too hard and too much at her own jokes even though they were terrible. And she cursed a lot, but she was still philosophical and appreciative about everything and everyone.â You kept your eyes closed, not wanting to let any water fall from your eyes. You can still hear her voice and picture her face perfectly even though itâs been a year. âSheâs a lot like Taehyung actually. We both looked up to her.â
âWas your dad here last week?â Just like your mom, Jimin had never heard you talk about your dad. He actually never heard you talk about your past life and friends from your other town. It seemed like he knew everything about you except where you had came from. The only thing he knew was that he worked abroad.
âYes.â It was your first time talking about your parents after the move, and it hurt. Taehyung actually had tried to get you to cry and shout about your dad, mom and the move, but you kept your feelings bottled up. You didnât want anyone hearing about your burdens, but a year had passed, and everything was finally let out. âHe came to take me visit my motherâs grave and asked me how I was doing here. He left last night.â
âWhat does he do?â
âHeâs an important executive for this fancy organization. My father used to work for the headquarters here, but started working abroad after my mother got sick to earn more money for her medical bills. I thought he would return to working here, but instead, he worked more and more far away from me.â Trying not to cry, you took a deep breath. You didnât realize it would be so easy to tell Jimin how you felt and wished you had done it sooner. âI always wondered why he didnât want to take me and why he wanted me to live here. I wonder if I did something wrong. Perhaps, I would remind him of my mother, but it still hurt that he had left me all alone when I thought we would grieve together. I had to do it all alone.â
Unlike your cousin who would tell you things like âeverything is going to be okay,â Jimin didnât. He listened to you, and that was all you needed. It wasnât someone would pity and comfort you, but someone who would only listen and that was the comforting you needed. âIâm so glad I met you, Jimin. Thank you for coming into my life.â
You felt your legs intertwined with Jiminâs under the blanket as you slowly drift off to sleep. Jiminâs hand softly untangled strands of your hair, not wanting to disturb you. He kissed the top of your head as he held you tighter. âSleep well.â
The front door handle rattled for a bit before it was opened. Taehyungâs mom came through the door and took off her black heels. She was about to head to the kitchen to set the groceries down that were in her hand, but she noticed Jimin on the couch with you.
âI hope you donât mind me being here,â he said quietly. He loved Taehyungâs parents, but he felt awkward to be there after that one night you called him and ranted to him all night about how they didnât like him here with you. âI was worried about Y/N and wanted to cheer her up a little. I can leave now if youâd like.â
âItâs perfectly fine, Jimin.â She looked down at your sleepy face and chuckled once she saw the corners of your lips was smeared with ice cream. She was trying to get you to sleep for the longest time this week and was relieved to know you eventually fell asleep. âI donât know what you did, but sheâs finally sleeping, and Iâm thankful for that. Iâm glad both of you have each other even though itâs a little young.â
âIâm sorry?â He heard what she said, but he needed her to repeat it again. Did Taehyungâs parents think you and Jimin were exclusive? Was that the reason why they werenât fond of him coming over when Taehyung wasnât home? âWhat was that?â
âArenât you two together?â She emphasized the word together and Jimin laughed at her mistake. He didnât think it was funny, but he was unfazed and laughed because he didnât know how to react to her comment. âWe just assumed since you spent a lot of time with her after school. Iâm sorry.â
âI love her. I really do,â he said, staring at your face as you peacefully slept. This wasnât the first time he had seen you asleep. There were multiple timers where you accidentally would fall asleep when you were watching them play video games. He admired the way you looked when you were sleeping, and he smiled. âBut just not like that.â
From that moment on, thatâs what he told everyone when they asked if the two of you were dating or together. He would throw his head back, smile and tell them he liked you platonically.
Itâs been six years since the move, and you and Jimin were practically inseparable. Jimin was now sharing a dorm with Taehyung while you lived nearby on your own. The three of you were attending the same university, finishing up your last year together. Â
It was Friday night, and Hoseok insisted everyone to go to the nearby club to dance and drink. The boys were on the crowded dance floor, dancing and continuously hitting on girls while you and your close friend, Tiffany were at the bar, enjoying your cocktails.
Tiffany was your exact polar opposite. She was raised by two moms in Daegu and spent a lot of her nights partying and socializing with different types of people. While growing up, she played volleyball and the viola and didnât really have any male friends up until now after you had introduced her to yours. You met her when she took a seat next to you in your public speaking class and would always laugh at the sarcastic remarks sheâd made about the professor under her breath. Although she was completely different from you, the two of you became great friends after being partners for a project.
âBe honest with me.â You nodded and started drinking your drink as the music started to get louder. Your favorite thing about her was that she was blunt and always got straight to the point. It was one of the few traits you both shared. âSo there hasnât been a time youâve thought about sleeping with Jimin?â
Spitting out your drink, you looked at her as if she was crazy. Within the three years youâve known Tiffany, she was one of the few people that didnât ask you if you were with Jimin, and you were quite thankful for that. In fact, when you introduced Jimin to her, she had asked for your permission to go out with him as a joke. âYouâre kidding, right? Heâs Jimin, my best friend! Nothing more, nothing less!â
âCome on!â She threw her head back and laughed. âIâm obviously not the first person who thought about this. Be honest! Have you ever thought about him in that way?â
âAre we actually having this conversation right now? This is completely disgusting!â She gave you a death glare as you rolled your eyes and set the glass on the bar counter. âI mean, no. Not really. There are times when I find him attractive, but thatâs the closest thing Iâve thought about him in the way youâre thinking about.â
âYou cannot be serious!â She shouted, not caring if the people around her heard the conversation. âYouâre telling me that you and Jimin have known each other for years and never kissed or anything?! Not even accidentally when the two of you are drunk and gazing into each otherâs eyes at three in the morning? Not even a dirty dream?â
âNever!â You laughed, ignoring your racing heartbeat. It wasnât a big deal, and you never thought it was. It was actually quite a shock to you when she finally brought the topic up because you had hoped this conversation would never happen between the two of you. âBesides, even if I did have a crush on him, I honestly donât think I would do anything.â
âYou are completely insane, like, please tell me how weâre friends!â You laughed and turned your head to Jimin. He was bending down to whisper something into a short blonde girlâs ear, probably asking her to dance with him or was giving her an invitation to his dorm. âHeâs so attractive and would protect you against anything in the world, but you wouldnât do anything.â
Biting your lower lip, you nodded. âThatâs right.â
âEven if the two of you liked each other, you wouldnât do anything at all?â
âI donât think so.â You shrugged your shoulders once again. âFor many good reasons.â
âLike what?â She scoffed and took a sip of her drink. âAnd donât give me any bullshit answers! Give me actual practical and logical answers.â
âOne, he would never like me.â All the girls Jimin went out with were all bubbly and knew how to continue a conversation with other people while you only talked to your friend group and would barely interact with other people. They also had to play a sport, while you never bothered playing anything and dedicated your time on studying or working. âIâm pretty sure he sees me as a sister heâs never had.â
Tiffany stared at you for a few seconds and shook her head. âI feel like Iâm friends with Stevie Wonder right now. You are truly blind if you cannot see the way Jimin looks at you!â
Ignoring her, you continued, âTwo, if I ever gain those feelings, I rather be close to him and be his friend than to ruin everything. I would be hurt if he didnât reciprocate those kinds of feelings. Heâs my best friend, and I am thankful for that. Him being in my life is all I need.â
You turned your head, and she looked at what you were staring at. She watched as Jimin got turned down by the blonde and stared at you as you stared back at him with amusement in your eyes. Even in the most crowded rooms, your eyes would find a way to meet his, and Tiffany can tell that you two were somehow having a conversation with your eyes. âYou guys are literally having eye sex right now, and youâre telling me thereâs nothing going between you and Jimin?!â
âThatâs exactly what Iâm telling you.â And thatâs what you told everyone because you thought your platonic feelings for your best friend would never change, but it slowly did before you could even realize it yourself.

âJimin, come on!â You shouted over the loud music blaring from the bathroom. It had been over five minutes since you started pounding on the white wooden door for Jimin to come out of the bathroom. âWhen I said âtake your time,â I didnât actually mean it! I still need to get ready!âÂ
âEverything takes time!â He yelled back, causing you to groan. The door was suddenly swung opened. He looked at you with his red towel in his right hand, drying his black hair. âWould you like to come in? I just need to dry my hair.â
You scoffed and walked in. âI canât believe youâre asking me if I would want to come to my own bathroom.âÂ
âI think you mean, our bathroom,â he joked, trying to make you smile.Â
âYou donât live here.â Rolling your eyes, you grabbed your curling wand from the drawer. You plugged the wand in the outlet and then lowered the volume of Jiminâs music coming from his small black portable speaker. âIf itâs ever this loud again, itâs going into the toilet.â
âWhat crawled up your ass?â You gave him a death glare as he stared back at you in the mirror. He was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with light-blue ripped jeans. âEverything okay?â
âAnna just broke up with Hobi, so guess whoâs coming to the club tonight.â Jimin groaned.Â
As much as you loved Hobi, you were not the biggest fan of brokenhearted Hobi. It wasnât because he would cry, rant and sulk about his breakup; it was because he would turn to alcohol and sex and would go too crazy for a good week. He becomes that one lightweight uncle that drinks way too much and spills everyoneâs secrets at family reunions. In fact, you and Tiffany first met Hobi three years ago. You two were in line for the girlsâ bathroom, and not wanting to wait any longer, you kicked the door open to find him drunk, puking on the floor. You had to drag him out, made him drink a bunch of water and made several dozen calls on his phone, trying to find someone to pick him up to take him home. Eventually, his friend answered the call, laughed, apologized and picked up Hobi ten minutes later.Â
The next day, as you were leaving your business math class, you heard someone screaming your name across the hall. You turned around and saw his friend beckoning you to come towards him, Hobi and three other guys. Hobi apologized, thanked you for what you had done and offered to take you out to make it up to you.
Agreeing, you ate with Hobi and was formally introduced to his friends, Jungkook (the friend that picked him up), Namjoon, Yoongi and Seokjin. As you ate, you realized you all had a lot in common and continued to spend time with them more often, inviting them to go out and eat, see movies and more. After some time, you then introduced them to Tae and Jimin, creating a close friend group between everyone.Â
Typically when Hoseok drank excessively, Taehyung and Namjoon took responsibility to take care of him, making sure he didnât do anything stupid or something he would regret later. They were fine with being the parent of the night as everyone else had fun, drinking.Â
But that night, Taehyung was in Japan for another week, finishing his work study course while Joon was out of town for the weekend, visiting his family, and when they were gone, it had to be you, who took care of Hobi.
âDo you want me to take care of him tonight?â Jimin asked as he put the towel on the glass shower door to dry. He stood behind you and grabbed the curling wand from the counter. âI donât have to drink tonight.â
âThanks.â You watched Jimin grab a small section of hair from the top of your head and wrap it around the wand. You never asked him to curl your hair, but he always did and when does it, he touches your hair so softly that you canât feel it. Stylists always pulled on your hair and sometimes burned you, but Jimin never did. He was always careful with you. âAnd itâs fine. Iâll be on Hobi duty.â
âAre you sure?â He held the wand in place for fifteen seconds before letting go. He moved on to the next section of your hair. âThis is my final offer. Going once, going twice.â
âI got it.â He repeated the curling your hair again. âBesides, he loves getting drunk with you, and you know that.â
Looking at Jimin in the mirror, you admired the sight of him curling your hair as he tilted his head back and laughed at your comment as if it was the funniest thing he had ever heard.Â
_________
âHowâs your night, Princess?â Jin teased as he came next to you at the bar. You noticed he was probably the least drunk out of everyone. He was wearing a regular black t-shirt and black jeans. âHaving fun yet?âÂ
âYouâre so funny.â You mocked him with the same tone of voice, causing him to smile. âItâs going absolutely terrible, but thanks for asking.â
âWhatâs wrong?â You didnât need to open your mouth to answer his question. Your finger pointed at Hobi and Jimin; they were both about four feet away from you, buying another round of shots. âThank God, I donât have to handle those two tonight.âÂ
âI havenât even figured out how Iâm going to get them back to my apartment. Maybe I need a tranquilizer?â You watched as both of them finish the shots. âAssuming, they donât end up in the hospital.â
âAt this rate, Hobi is going to ring that bell to buy shots for everyone,â Jin joked.
âOh, trust me, heâs tried.â You didnât know if the goal for tonight is to get Hobi back at your place in one piece or if it was to make sure he doesnât ring that bell, but you pulling him away from the bell was awfully hard. âTwice.â
âDo you want me to smack some common sense into him?â
âAt least not yet. Iâm hoping at least one person tries to hit on him, so he can embarrass himself,â you joked. âHowâs your night going?â
âFine, I guess. I donât really care,â he said. âI just wanted to check up on you and make sure youâre okay.â
âPlease donât tell me thatâs your way of flirting,â Hoseok slurred as he stumbled in front of you and Jin with a drink in his hand. âYou know you can do better than that.âÂ
âBetter as in what?â You crossed your arms.
âIâm saying that I donât want you two to sleep together tonight. I mean, I prefer you guys donât do it at all, but if youâre going to do it, donât do it tonight,â he ranted slowly. âI really donât to hear your loud moans through your thin-ass walls. I actually want some sleep tonight, you know?âÂ
âExcuse me?â Noticing your confused face, Jimin came right next to him, took the drink away from Hobiâs hand and drank it himself. Hobi was too drunk to notice what had just happened. âI think itâs time for you to stop drinking, buddy.â
âYouâre so loud,â Hobi exaggerated, imitating a high pitch sound of a moan. People started to stare as you tried to hush him, but he kept moaning.
âThis isnât the time or place,â Jin warned, not wanting Hobi to say the wrong thing. âWe donât need to talk about this right now.â
âThat you and Y/N hooked up?â Hobi blurted out. âWhy canât we talk about that?â
âWhat are you talking about?â Jimin asked as he saw your eyes widen at Hobiâs sudden confession. His head turned to you, expecting an answer. âWhat is he talking about?â Â
âI have no idea,â you lied. âHeâs drunk.â
âYou and Jin hooked up two months ago, remember?â He started screaming in the club. âI canât be the only one remembering this. Here, letâs get Yoongi. I bet he remembers. Yoongi!â
âYou guys what?!â You raised your eyebrows at Jiminâs sudden attitude change. He wasnât the type to yell at anyone; he always tried to calm everyone down by awkwardly telling jokes. In fact, you couldnât remember the last time you heard him yell. âYou guys hooked up?!â
âOh shit.â Hobi was finally coming to realization with what was being said. âI forgot we werenât supposed to tell Jimin.â
âWhat?!â Jiminâs tone of voice started getting louder. âYou guys lied to me?â
âIt just sort of happened.â Which wasnât really a lie, but not the truth either. You and Jin were both at his place, getting drunk of some store bought wine as everyone else was out on a date that night. You complained to Jin how you missed having sex, and as a joke, Jin suggested he could change that.
âItâs not a big deal,â Jin reassured him as he stood next to you. âIt was a one time thing.â
âJust wait until Tae finds out!âÂ
âDude.â Hoseok stressed the word out. âWho do you think found them and told us not to tell you?âÂ
One of the most embarrassing moments of your life was when you and Jin were making out that next morning, about to make that one time thing a two time thing, and as you moaned loudly, Taehyung walked in, asking if Jin was okay. He really thought your moan was his.Â
That feeling of embarrassment did not leave until weeks after. It wasnât like you were naked or hadnât kissed guys in front of your cousin before, but it wasnât something you wanted him to see, hear or know. You also didnât want him or any of the other boys to subtly make any jokes about you moaning (but of course, they did).
Taehyung was mortified as he gathered you and Jin into the living room with everyone, except Jimin; he was still sleeping in his room. You and Jin had to explain what happened and that you guys only saw each other as friends. Taehyung then made you and Jin agree that it would never happen again and made everyone swore not to tell Jimin. No one asked why, but we agreed not to.
âYou guys slept together,â Jimin said in a low voice, still louder than the music around him. âI canât believe you guys did that.â
âWhat?â You were taken back by his comment. Was he mad that everyone didnât tell him what happened? Or was he mad at the fact you and Jin had hooked up? He couldnât have been mad at that, but it sounded like that.Â
âI canât do this.â Jimin grabbed a random drink next to him and splashed all the liquid onto Jin. He threw the empty glass onto the ground, pushed Hoseok out of his way and angrily walked away.
âJimin!â Jin called out. He was about to go after him, but you grabbed onto his shoulder and shook your head. âShouldnât we get him?â
âLeave him, heâs drunk,â you said. âHeâs probably getting a taxi to go back to his place, and if not, heâll call me to get him. Heâll be okay.â
âYo! What a crazy night, guys!â Hoseok screamed as he rang the bell, having everyone cheer for him and the free drinks. âFree drinks!â
______
âPlease donât be mad at me,â he said. âI know being drunk is not an excuse, but I really was drunk. I donât know what came over me.â
Shopping was something Jimin actually enjoyed doing, especially with you. Although you would complain and try to rush him out of the dressing room all the time, he liked all the jokes you made and all the honest feedback you gave him. Your opinion really influenced him. More than once, your opinion had saved him from public embarrassment from his friends and everyone else he was trying to impress. Everyone has some piece of clothing they regret buying, except Jimin.
âI thought you said you were going to make it up to me.â After getting off work, you and Jimin were at the mall, walking around, arms linked with each other. He apologized and told you that he wanted to make it up to you. âTypically when that happens, I pick and enjoy what we do. And last time I checked, you like shopping and I donât.âÂ
âIâm here to pay for whatever you want, and I promise I wonât get a single thing for myself unless I have special permission from you. Consider this as an extra birthday present from me.â Jimin went all out for your birthday, but you couldnât blame him when you did the same. When his birthday came around, you bought him seven expensive presents for each day of the week he was born, and he would do the same for you; it had became a natural thing to do for each other.
âYou donât have to do that,â you said. âI just want you to apologize to Jin and Hobi though.âÂ
âBut first, I need to say sorry to you for ruining your night, and this is my way of saying sorry.â He shrugged. âBesides, you really need new clothes for your birthday.â
âMy clothes are perfectly fine!â You argued, playfully hitting his arm.Â
âWhere to?â He asked.Â
âI really donât need any new clothes,â You repeated.Â
âLetâs just have fun and try things on then,â he suggested.Â
He suddenly stopped walking causing you unlink your arm with his. You gave him a confused look, not understanding why he stopped. He rolled his eyes and nod his head towards the store you two were in front of.
âJimin, no! Not today. We arenât doing this,â you whined.Â
âCome on! Itâll be fun! You love watching Say Yes to the Dress.â
âAre you crazy? I am not trying on wedding dresses for fun!â As he desperately tries to pull you in, you tried to pull Jimin in the other direction, hoping not to rip the sleeve of your shirt. âAnyone seeing this?! Heâs trying to hold me hostage against my own will!âÂ
âIâm not!â Jimin eventually got you on your feet and pushed you into the store. You two sat on the first unoccupied chairs and waited for someone to come.Â
âHi. Are we looking at wedding dresses today?â The sales associate asked. She was wearing in a black business suit with black heels.Â
âYes, we are looking for dresses today!â He declared loudly for everyone to hear. âShe wants something very simple, but not too basic. No mermaid dresses, beaded tops, corsets or anything with any ridiculous design.â
âOh god,â you mumbled under your breath, thinking you could not take another minute of this.Â
"I think I can help you with that.â She laughed and shook her hand out. âMy name is Kim.â
âIâm Jimin, and this is Y/N.âÂ
âIâll have you follow me into a dressing room, and Jimin, if you find any dresses Y/N might like, try to find me.âÂ
After a couple minutes of waiting in the dressing room, you heard a knock on the door. The door slightly opened, and Kim walked in with one sleeved wedding dress, one ball gown weeding dress and one a-line wedding dress in her hands. âI have three dresses for you.âÂ
âWow,â you blurted out as she hung each of them. You werenât really a fan of dresses, but something about wedding dresses made you want to try them on. âThese are all so pretty.âÂ
âIâm glad you like them.â She smiled. âDo you know which one you want to try on first?âÂ
The sweetheart lace A-line wedding dress caught your eye first. It was exactly how Jimin described your taste: simple, but not too basic. The dress wasnât pure white, but it was ivory blush color. You werenât a fan of floral, but you loved the lace floral design on the dress. You reached out to touch the material and admired the dress. âI think this one.âÂ
As you started removing your jeans and sweater, Kim turned around to give you some privacy. She was getting the dress out of the bag and off the hook, ready to help you when you were ready to try on the dress. You laughed, but you liked her presence. âHow long have you and Jimin been together?âÂ
âIâm sorry, what?â You froze. âDid you say me and Jimin?â
She turned around and unzipped the back zipper for you. She held the dress as you got into it. âYou two are so adorable.â
âWeâre just friends,â you said quickly as she pulled the dress up. âWeâre not dating.âÂ
âOh!â She furrowed her eyebrows together, trying to understand the situation. âIâm sorry, but I thought you two were. Usually, couples shop for wedding dresses together.â
âIâm not getting married either. Iâm just making him happy by trying on wedding dresses.â She zipped up the zipper as you adjusted your hair, making sure it wasnât in the way.Â
âYou guys would look together.â The whole atmosphere became awkward, and you wanted to slap Jimin for making you go through this alone. He was better at telling people you two werenât dating, while you always made everything more awkward. âHave you two dated?âÂ
âNo.â You let out an awkward laugh. âIâm not really his type anyways.â
You remember when you used to get overwhelmed when people asked about your relationship with Jimin. You felt as if you were only known as Jiminâs girl rather than an actual human being.Â
âJust say I donât like you like that, and just change the subject to show them how amazing you are,â he said.
âHe doesnât like me like that,â you repeated what Jimin told everyone.Â
âBut do you?â She asked. âDo you like him like that?â
When people asked you that question, you immediately always said that the thought of you and Jimin dating was never a possibility. You would always tell them no and move on from the conversation, but when Kim asked you right there, in that room of wedding dresses, you had to think about your feelings.Â
Was there something actually there that felt something more for your best friend? Did you like spending time with Jimin? Yes, but all best friends enjoy their time with their best friend. Do you feel the happiest with Jimin? Of course, but all best friends feel happy with their best friend. Do you think about Jimin constantly? Yes, but even friends think about their friends.
âAre you married?â You asked her as she was in front of you, adjusting the dress.Â
âYes.â She smiled. âAlmost 20 years.âÂ
âHow did you know he was the one you wanted?âÂ
âHe was my best friend,â she answered. âBut I noticed that I always thought of him for the smallest of things, and I didnât want anyone else in front of me at the altar. I wanted to spend my time with him the most.â
âThatâs beautiful.âÂ
âIs that how you feel about Jimin?â
You had a bunch of relationships, but it never got to the point where you felt like you were seriously in love, and the idea of marriage with any of your boyfriends never came to your mind. You knew you wanted to fall in love and wanted to get married, but when you thought about it, Jimin came into your mind. You pictured him in a tuxedo, smiling at you as if he was happy for you getting married. But the idea of him being the groom rather the best man or groomsmen didnât sickened you; it actually made your heart flutter in excitement. Is that what love feels like? Had you always been feeling love for him?
âOh my god.â A tear rolled down onto your cheek. Your feelings were a mess, and you couldnât believe what was happening. Did that mean you liked Jimin? Did that mean you actually loved him? Not as a friend, but as a partner. âI-â
Before you could answer her question, there was a loud knock on the door. âHey Kim. I have a dress for Y/N. Sheâs going to love it.âÂ
She opened the door slightly to grab the dress, but she didnât open it wide enough for him to see you. Pushing the door right away, she yelled out, âThanks.âÂ
Wiping your face, you laughed at the sight of the dress and rolled your eyes at Jiminâs humor. It was a black v-neck ball gown; the top was practically see through while he bottom of the dress looked like one giant rose. You absolutely hated the dress, and you knew he did too.
âThis is a joke, right?â Kim asked, petrified with what she was holding in her hand. âDoes he think this is âsimple, but not too basic?ââ
âHe just wanted me to laugh.â You smiled. âHe knew I would probably feel a little anxious, so he brought that to cheer me up.â
âAnd he did.â She gave you a small smile. You knew that she really love you and Jimin together. âI didnât mean to overwhelm you with your feelings, by the way. That was rude of me to do that. I shouldnât have asked and should have respected you with what you said.âÂ
âItâs fine.â A small part of you wanted to thank her, but you couldnât tell if this was something worth thanking about. What if the realization of your feelings later breaks you? Was it worth knowing?
âItâs not,â Kim countered. âIâm sorry.âÂ
âI just have a lot to think about.â You shrugged, trying to bury all your feelings. âIt doesnât look like I cried, right?âÂ
âI donât think heâll know,â she said, scanning your face to see.
âYouâll be surprised.â
âYou look breathtaking,â she said as she made you look at the mirror. âThis dress was made for you.âÂ
________
âClose your eyes!â He groaned as he put his hands to cover his eyes. You were on the podium, facing Jimin with your back facing the mirrors. âYouâre not peaking, right?âÂ
âNope,â he promised. âCan I look now?âÂ
âPromise you wonât make fun of me.âÂ
âWhy would I make fun of you?â
âJust promise me!â You tried not to laugh.
âI promise.âÂ
âOkay. Open your eyes.âÂ
He opened his eyes and you noticed his jaw slightly dropped. He stared at you, mesmerizing every detail of the dress. He was sure that his loud heartbeat could be heard. âWow.â
You wondered if he liked the dress or if he liked you being in the dress. âI love this dress a lot.âÂ
âI love it too,â he agreed. He stood up on the podium with you and looked closely at your face. Biting your lip, you tried to look away, but you knew that he could tell. âWere you crying?âÂ
âVeil or no veil?â Kim asked with a veil in her hand. She really knew how to save you like an angel.
âVeil.â
âNo veil.âÂ
Even though you said no, Kim handed the veil to Jimin. He then put the veil on top of your head, adjusting your hair. You felt him run his fingers in your hair, slowly. Then, just like Kim, he turned your body towards the mirror. His eyes met yours in the mirror. âYou are so stunning.âÂ
You turned to Jimin. âYouâre just saying that.â
âIâm not,â he said. âI mean it.â
Putting his arms around you, he pulled you closer to him. Automatically, you put your arms around his neck and felt his hair at the nape of his neck. His head leaned towards you as he stared at your lips.Â
You two had always been close. It was a normal thing, but this was the first time you were this close. It felt like he was looking at you for permission to press his lips against yours.Â
A sound coming from him stopped him. He let go out you as he grabbed the phone out of his back pocket and looked at who was calling him. âItâs Jessica.âÂ
Your eyes widened.
Jessica.
How could you forget? Jessica. Jiminâs girlfriend. Jiminâs girl. The person that is not you.
âHey, whatâs up?â He asked as he slid to answer the call and put the phone towards his ear. You hear loud noises come from the other end, and then all of the sudden, you watched Jimin ran out of the store with no explanation.Â
As if nothing between you had happened.Â
As if it didnât mean anything to him.Â
And you were left alone, in a wedding dress, confused with your feelings of your best friend.

âYouâre joking, right?â The first thing Jimin did in the morning was come to your apartment with his blue toothbrush and razor in his hand. You were sitting on your granite counter top as you watched Jimin shave his non-existent facial hair off his face.
âIâm not.â He explained why he ran out of the mall so suddenly. Jessica had called him, asking him if he had forgotten their five month anniversary date they had planned together. After running twenty blocks to get into the restaurant, she broke up with him and left him all alone there. You could feel the embarrassment he faced, and you werenât even there.
âYou cannot be serious.â
âI wish I wasnât.â
âWhy though?â None of it made sense to you on why Jessica would break up with Jimin after he forgot about their date. You knew Jimin was head over heels for Jessica and vise versa. The first few weeks when they started dating, they constantly talked about each other all the time and could not keep their hands of each other. There were more than one occasions where you had walked in on them with Taehyung, and you wished for those images to be erased from your brain.
âI donât know.â You stared at your best friend to see if he was lying. When Jimin lied, he would always either bite his lower lip or his leg would shake or bounce. It was easy catching his bluff in games like poker because he always made it so obvious. He continued shaving, and although he didnât show any signs of lying, you couldnât help but to feel like he wasnât being honest to you either.
âI want to punch her.â You didnât mind Jessica at all. In fact, you didnât really know her that well. She was in one of your filler electives that you took, but she would always talk to Jimin in that class. There werenât many times where you actually saw her and talked to her since she never spent time with the other boys like you did, and if she did, you werenât around. The only problem you had with her was that she broke up with your best friend and didnât explain why.
âWhy?â
âBecause she hurt you.â
âItâs fine.â He shrugged as if it was nothing. âI donât really care. Her loss, not mine.â
You couldnât believe how he wasnât hurt. âHow can someone possibly throw away two years without any explanation?â
He gave you a questionable look and then shook his head. "Dude, it was five months, not two years.â
âSame difference.â He scoffed and rolled his eyes at you as he finished getting all the shaving cream off his face with his razor. âFive months is actually a pretty long time, especially for college students. Thatâs almost half a year! Imagine being in a relationship for that long in college!â
He shook his head as he tried not to smile at your joke. âCan I egg her car?â
âNo.â The faucet was now turned on as he rinsed his face and razor.
âCan I pour ice coffee down her bra?â
âAbsolutely not.âÂ
âCan I tell everyone that she likes to scream âtreeâ when she orgasms?âÂ
âNo, Y/N!â He rolled his eyes.
âThen what can I do?âÂ
âLet it go,â he said, turning the water completely off. Grabbing the blue washcloth off the towel ring, you gave Jimin the washcloth to wipe all the water off his face. Muttering a small thank you, he sighed and put the washcloth back on the metallic ring. âJust leave it alone.â
You raised your eyebrows. âDonât you at least want to know why?â
âOf course I do, but Iâm giving her some space right now.â
âWhy are you like that?âÂ
âLike what?â His tone of voice changed into a defensive tone.
âYou think giving people some time and space to think about things they should regret when in reality, theyâre probably suffering and sulking about the whole situation. I mean, sure, youâre not constantly annoying them, but sometimes space is not the answer, and it actually sucks.â You stared at him as he stared back at you.
âShe wants space,â he said, sighing. âShe even said it herself.â
âIt just doesnât make sense, Jimin. People forget things all the time, so I donât understand why she broke up with you after five months.â He shrugged as he helped you get off the counter. âI mean, sure, you should have known better, but you can always reschedule it.âÂ
âYouâre not like most girls who try to understand. This anniversary mattered to her, so I understand why sheâs mad.â You turned off the light and followed him out the bathroom to the kitchen.
Jimin knew where everything was at your apartment as if he lived there. He opened your cabinets and grabbed two bowls and the box of off-brand cereal as you grabbed the milk out of the fridge and set it on the granite counter top. Sighing, Jimin poured the cereal out of the box and into the bowl once you handed him the spoons. âHonestly, itâs whatever.â
You didnât say anything which caused Jimin to raise his eyebrows at you as he started pouring the milk right after. âAre you not going to say anything?âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â Once Jimin was finished pouring the milk, you grabbed your bowl.
âYou always have something to say.âÂ
He was right, but you had nothing to say about that topic. You wanted to talk about what happened before Jimin ran off yesterday. Did it mean anything to him? Did he just want to kiss you because you were in a wedding dress? Was it just a âin the momentâ thing? Did he feel something for you? Did he feel how you might be feeling? What did it mean for you? Were you sure of your feelings? Or are you just thinking about the idea everyone keeps putting in your head?
You couldnât possibly act like nothing happened, but you didnât know how to bring up your almost kiss. You couldnât just ask, âHey, why did we almost kiss yesterday when you had a date with your girlfriend that you almost cheated on and that just broke up with you because you forgot about your five months together? Why did it almost happen if we are just friends?â
It seemed like if you two had kiss, Jessica would still break up with Jimin. It was either he ditched her or he ditched her and also kissed another girl.Â
âDo you still like her?â You asked. âI feel like you should be a little hurt, especially after five months being together.âÂ
Avoiding your question, he looked at you and took a bite of his cereal. âIs that what you really want to say?âÂ
âAre we really eating on the kitchen island and not the dinner table?â He shrugged his shoulders, not looking at you.
âThatâs it?â
âI think you can do better.â He could do you; maybe you would know your feelings if that happened.Â
âI should be saying that to you.â He stopped and looked at you. âYou canât actually going on this date tonight, especially with him.âÂ
Just like Jimin, you forgot you had a date. You were going out with a guy you sat next to from your public speaking class. He had curly black hair and hazel eyes. Although you hadnât really talked to him, you agreed to go on a date with him.Â
âNow you know how I felt with the last eight trashy girls you went on a date on.âÂ
He laughed and shook his head. âThatâs different though.â
âHow is it different?!âÂ
Not looking at you, he took another bite of his cereal. âBecause you know you can do better.â
___
âYouâre back!â Jimin exclaimed as you walked through your front door and took off your shoes with a confused look on your face. âWhat? Is something wrong? Are you okay?â
âI didnât know you would still be here?â Jimin was standing by the couch, folding the white fleece blanket you always had lying around. âI thought you would be back at your dorm by now or with the other guys.â
âSorry,â he apologized. âI just woke up from my nap. Why are you back so early by the way? You were gone for like not even an hour. Did things not go well with you two?â
After brunch with Jimin, you studied with him for a couple hours and then got ready for your date. He didnât want to be alone, so he stayed at your apartment. Right when you left, he started drifting him off to sleep. Not wanting him to drive tired, you let him stay to take a nap and put a blanket on top of him.
âYeah.â You hesitantly bit your lower lip, not wanting to admit to Jimin that he was right about your date. âHe didnât want to go to the fair with me because itâs too childish, and I made some lame excuse to go home. It just didnât work out.â
A part of you were glad it didnât work out. You felt guilty going on a date with a guy while you still had mixed feelings about Jimin.Â
âBut itâs the fair!â He exclaimed. âYou get food on sticks, excitement from rides and toys from playing games! Who doesnât want to go to the fair?!â
âApparently he doesnât.â Letting out a big sigh, Jimin beckoned you to sit down next to him on the couch. You sat down next to him, and already his arm wrapped around you, rubbing the side of your arm in small circles. âMaybe everyone hates fairs, and weâre just the weird ones who like them.â
âAs if.â He scoffed and rolled his eyes. âIf anything, heâs the weird one. That guy is supposed to be enjoying his time as a young adult. He shouldnât be wanting to join country clubs and be bidding at silent auction events.âÂ
âThat sounds fun,â you said flatly, already tired of the conversation. âImagine bidding something at a high price just so someone gets pissed off.âÂ
Jimin laughed, and automatically, your mood was getting better. You were a little upset, but it was going away because Jimin was trying to make you happy. âWe would do something like that.âÂ
You looked at him. âYeah, we would.â
Before he could say anything, your phone buzzed in the back of your jean pocket. You reached for it and looked at the notification: message from Jin.Â
[seokjinnie<3]
19:12 hey has jimin said anything to you yet? i havenât seen him at the dorm, and he still hasnât answered me from two nights ago.
Your head turned to Jimin. He was already looking down at your phone, grimacing at the message on the screen. âYou still havenât apologized to him?â
âAbout that...âScratching the back of his neck, he looked away for a bit, not trying to answer your question, but he gave in once he saw your death glare. âDo I really need to?âÂ
You scrunched your eyebrows together. âAre you joking? You ruined everyoneâs night, caused a scene, threw a drink at Jin and made everyone worry about you as you left the bar on foot, drunk.â
âA simple yes would have been fine too.â He grabbed his phone from the arm of the couch and began typing a quick apology text to Jin. You hear the swish sound as he sent the message. âWeâre all good.âÂ
âAre you not going out with them tonight?âÂ
âOnly if you are.âÂ
You shook your head. âMy night is kinda ruined.â
âChange into like shorts or something you can walk in,â he said. âYou donât want to be in the tight skirt and sweater.âÂ
âWhy?â
âTrust me, Iâll make it up to you,â he promised.Â
____
After all these years, Jimin still hated driving. He liked having conversations and liked viewing the scenery outside. Of course, he could still do these things as he drove, but he felt like he couldnât as he paid attention to the roads. Everyone drove him everywhere, but with you, he was willing to drive.
âWhere are we going?â You asked once he put the keys in the ignition. Â
âItâs a surprise.â He beamed.
You winced. âAnd you know I hate surprises.âÂ
âThat is the best part.â He booped your nose.
Not knowing where he was taking you, you decide to take a quick nap with your face pressed against the car window. As you drifted to sleep, you remember smiling as you heard his voice sing along with the radio. His voice was soft and sweet like honey, making you peacefully fall asleep.
âBrat, weâre here,â he said as he tapped on your shoulder to wake you up. âI know it was a long drive, but you didnât need to fall asleep on me.âÂ
You raised your head from the window, looked outside and then back to the car clock. It had been about thirty minutes since you two had left your apartment, the time it would have taken you to come back into Jiminâs hometown. âWhy are we back home?âÂ
âIce cream,â he replied, carefully unbuckling your seat-belt. âCome on, letâs go.â
Entering the ice cream shop, Jimin watched as your whole face lit up. The ice cream shop was just exactly how you remember it. There werenât any new changes, but the place looked so new and modern. Everything looked shiny and was crystal clear. You glanced up to the ceiling, seeing the chandelier above your head and then looked the relaxed sitting area upstairs and the famous gift shop.Â
Jimin laughed as you looked around the whole place. You two were both sitting down on the stools, the same stools you two have been sitting on for the last five years. âYou know, your eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when we walked in. Stop acting like itâs your first time here.â
âShut up.â Rolling your eyes, you looked down at the menu in front of you. Even though itâs been the same menu since the first time you came here, you still look at it and try to make a new choice every time. There were a total of seventy flavors, and you still had to try about twenty more. âI love this place with my whole heart.âÂ
âCan you believe itâs almost been five years since you first came here?âÂ
You shook your head. âIâm surprised we havenât broken these stools yet. Five years and theyâre still here.âÂ
âI havenât seen you two in a while! How have you two been?â The owner, Seung-hyun came by with a smile on his face. Despite your cousin, Taehyung and his actions, Seung-hyun still treated you and Jimin with respect and loved seeing the both of you eat at the shop so often.
âUNI struggles,â you and Jimin both said at the same time.Â
âYou two sure havenât changed.â The owner smiled. âIâm guessing you still need more time to figure out what you want?âÂ
Although you knew he was just teasing, you could feel your cheeks turn pink. âI actually know what I want. Surprising, right? Iâll take two scoops of Scooper hero.âÂ
âIâll have a bowl of mint chocolate chip.â You scrunched nose in disgust, not understanding how Jimin could stand that flavor.
Once Seung-hyun left, Jimin shook his head. âOut of all the flavors, why did you choose to pick that one? You do realize Scooper hero is just vanilla with artificial food coloring, right? Itâs not actually like blueberry, strawberry and banana flavor combined.âÂ
âLet me live the dream.âÂ
On the counter, Jiminâs phone lit up. He reached for it and unlocked his phone to see who had texted him. From the corner of his eye, he could see you trying to sit up straighter to peek at his messages.
His head turned to you, and immediately, you looked away and had a poker face. âYou can just ask, you know?â
Playing it cool, you shrugged your shoulders. âWhat are you talking about?âÂ
Rolling his eyes, he showed you his phone.Â
[tae]
19:48 hey dumbass
19:48 found an early flight thursday.Â
19:48 will be landing friday morning.Â
19:48Â coming back in time for the birthday celebration boiiiiiÂ
19:49 has y/n been okay?
âIâm so excited!â You squealed and clapped your hands together. The thought of Taehyung being back home made you ecstatic. âI missed him so much.âÂ
Taehyung decided to take a work-study course this semester that allowed him to travel abroad. It had been a couple of weeks since he had gone, but after spending almost everyday with him for the last five years, it seemed like you havenât seen him in a lifetime.
Although you felt a pain in your chest once he left, you were happy for him. He was experiencing new things on his own, finding himself in a new foreign country. That pain in your chest lessened once he reassured you that heâll being something back for you.
âWhy is it that you and your family like to double text? This could have been sent in one message!âÂ
âShut up!â
âImagine a world without double texters,â he said. âThe invention of the spam button would not need to exist then.âÂ
Knowing Jimin was joking, you threw your head back to laugh and rolled your eyes. âYouâre an idiot.â
Seung-hyun came out with your ice cream cone and Jiminâs ice cream in a small plastic bowl. As you two thanked him, he told you the ice creams were on the house and went back to work.
âI have to ask you something.â His playful tone was gone, and he spoke with a serious tone of face. âItâs kind of weird.â
âJiminie, you know you can tell me anything.â Releasing a small laugh to make him comfortable, the corner of your mouth quirked and he started smiling a little too. You then licked your ice cream cone. âWhat is it?â
âS you and Jin....really a one time thing?â Not expecting him to ask you about that, you started coughing on your ice cream. As you tried to recover, he rubbed your back in small circles and played with the tips of your hair. âAre you okay?â
âDid you get me ice cream just so you can ask that?âÂ
âNo! No, no.â He protested. âI really just wanted to cheer you up, and ice cream makes you happy.â
It took you a while, but you managed to find your voice to answer his question. âWe havenât done anything except that one night.âÂ
âYou donât like him, right?âÂ
âNo,â you reassured him. âIt was a drunken thing between us, and we donât feel that way about each other. I havenât thought about it since the night at the club.âÂ
âNothing at all?â
âNothing,â you repeated.
âGood.â The two of you continued eating the ice cream in silence.
____
âArenât you thankful I asked you to change?â Jimin asked as he helped you put the wristband on.Â
Now wearing a white t-shirt that was tucked in your jean shorts, you were able to move more freely and felt more comfortable. The outfit was simple, but perfect for the fair. âYeah. Thank god, I finally listened to youâ
âBesides, you look really cute.â It was normal for your best friend to compliment you, but it was different this time. Now with his words, you felt your stomach twisting in knots. Before you could think any longer about his words, he pulled on your hand to head towards the carnival styled games. âLetâs get you a prize.âÂ
Jimin chose to play the game, Camel Derby first. You were assigned a specific camel, and you had to roll wooden balls into slots as fast as you could to get your camel to the end of the finish line. The goal is to finish first.
âLook, Iâm beating you!â You pointed out as you rolled the balls.Â
âWhat are you talking about?â Jimin asked, taking the balls away, so you couldnât move your camel. âOh no, how did these get here?âÂ
âJimin!â You screeched, trying to get the balls away from you. He was now ahead, winning. As you tried to get the balls from him, he still kept rolling the wooden balls onto the slots.Â
The buzzer went off, indicating the game had finished. Of course, Jiminâs camel was the one at the end of the finish line. The worker grabbed a small stuffed blue pig off the back wall and handed it to Jimin.Â
âFor you, my friend.â Smiling, he gave the stuffed pig to you. âIt looks like youâre a winner after all.âÂ
It was your turn to pick the next game, and you chose to play the Happy Hippo. The game was to shoot water into the mouths of the Hippos, fill the water balloons up and have the balloon burst.
There were already people, waiting to play, and there was only one spot available. Usually, you and Jimin would let someone else play, so you two could play together. This time, Jimin insisted you play, and he would just stay behind you and watch.Â
âBegin!â The worker said, and everyoneâs water gun started squirting into the hippo.
âAim!â Jimin shouted behind you. âYou need to aim! Youâre not directly shooting at the hole!â
âI am!â You laughed, not understanding why he was yelling at you. âI swear, I am!â
As you held the water gun, he wrapped his arms around you and had his hands on yours, pushing a little upwards. You let out a small shriek as you didnât expect him to come and show you. âLike that.âÂ
Not focusing on the game anymore, you tilted your head to the side to stare at him. He was talking to you, but you didnât hear a single thing that came out of his mouth; you paid attention to his plump, pink lips and the way they moved as he talked.
Your senses came back once you heard a loud pop. You looked ahead and noticed that everyoneâs balloon was big and filled, but yours was nowhere to be found. Jimin had popped it.Â
The worker gave you the biggest animal from the back wall: a raccoon.Â
âI love it!â You shouted as held onto it tightly, forgetting all about the blue pig Jimin had just won earlier. âItâs so big!â
Laughing, Jimin held onto the blue pig and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear as you held onto the raccoon. âItâs practically bigger than you.â
You and Jimin walked around a bit, looking all around the fair. There were adorable kids everywhere with stuff animals walking besides their parents and couples together holding hands and eating fried food on a stick.Â
For some reason, most of the rides were closed. The only ones that were open were the little kids rides and the Ferris wheel.
âYou know, Iâve never been on the Ferris wheel.âÂ
Not believing him, you raised your eyebrows. Your family along with Jiminâs always went together to go to fairs or amusement parks. Even though Jimin would complain about doing roller coasters and other heart-trembling rides, he still did there; there was no way he did those before riding a Ferris wheel.
âYou guys would always avoid them, so I never rode in one!âÂ
âThatâs because thereâs other fun things to do!â You insisted. âWe didnât want to wait in line just to sit on a cart.â
âShould we go on it now?â
You shrugged your shoulders. âWhy not?â
____
Being in tight spaces was probably one of the most terrible things in the world, but heights was definitely right after that, and unfortunately that was what ferris wheels are. You could have rode any other terrifying ride that was in a tight container that went in the sky because they always moved and kept you distracted. On the other hand, you focused how tight you were enclosed into the cart and how high you were going up slowly from the ground.Â
âHey, youâre okay,â Jimin reassured as you tightly wrapped both your arms around his right arm. Your chin rested on his shoulder. As the ferris wheel started to go up higher from the ground, you held Jimin tighter, afraid he would let go. You closed your eyes, not wanting to see how far up you were. âIâm here.â Â
âIâm only doing this for you, loser,â you said with your voice trembling. âFor you.âÂ
The sounds of Jiminâs laughter eased you a bit. With your eyes still tightly shut, you released your hard grip on Jimin, so he (and his arm) could breathe. âItâs okay. Trust me, open your eyes.âÂ
 âAre you crazy?âÂ
âJust look at me.â You felt Jiminâs hand cupping your cheek, and he gently moved your head in his direction. âFocus on me.âÂ
You opened your eyes, and the black and white world was now filled with color as you looked at Jimin and the sunset around him. The feeling of your fears and worries went around when you looked directly into Jiminâs eyes. âIâm scared.â
âI want to talk to you about something to distract you. Itâs weird, but I have to let you know.â
His statement surprised you. It wasnât what he said, but the way he said it. There were times where Jimin would speak with a serious tone, but he was never this serious, especially, with you. It was a new thing that you were experiencing.Â
âWhatâs up?â
âI wanted to let you know that I wasnât going to kiss you yesterday at the wedding dress shop thing.â He let out a small chuckle. âI really thought it would be funny to let you try on dresses.âÂ
Throughout the whole day today, you thought of countless scenarios of how to bring up the wedding shop dress incident and what you would say to Jimin. None of those scenarios had Jimin bringing it up first. You didnât know what to do or say in this situation.Â
You scoffed. âWho said anything about kissing me yesterday?â
âNo one,â he said, scoffing like you. âI just didnât want you to get the wrong idea or anything. Youâre my best friend, and you looked beautiful yesterday. How could I not stare? But I wasnât going to kiss you because weâre best friends. Nothing more.â
âI was beautiful yesterday but not today?â
âLook, youâre facing your fear and making jokes! You must feel better now.âÂ
For some reason, you felt worse and more confused. Did that mean anything? Were your feelings indicating you like Jimin that way? Finally, tearing your eyes away from Jimin, you look at your feet. You were moving slowly, at a top of the ferris wheel, yet the feeling you had felt like you were at rock bottom.Â
The ride stopped after a whole ten minutes.Â
âAre you ready to go back to your dorm?â He asked. You never answered his question as someone behind you accidentally pushed you closer to Jimin. Before you could say anything, you looked up and, Jimin, the person who was your best friend that didnât want to kiss you, pressed his lips onto yours.Â

âNo freaking way! Youâre lying! You and Jimin actually kissed last night?!â Tiffany shouted as you got into the passenger pick up lane to pick up your cousin, Taehyung from the airport. âI called it!âÂ
âYes, Tiffany, will you please shout it louder, so the whole city can know I kissed my best friend?â You sarcastically remarked as you slowed down once you saw Taehyung. It wasnât hard to spot him. He was wearing brown khakis with a green and black striped t-shirt, and his brown hair was even more curly than you remembered. âIt just kind of happened.â
âHow does kissing your best friend âjust kind of happen?â Did his mouth just fall onto yours? Was his lips just pressed onto yours for warmth?â She asked with a loud mocking tone, trying to use your own words against you. âIt happened because you guys both wanted to and finally realized it.âÂ
âRealized what?â Taehyung opened the trunk of your car to put his metallic suitcase in. âDo you need help, Tae?â
He scoffed. âThanks for asking once I put my suitcase in.âÂ
As he closed the trunk, you whispered to Tiffany, âDo not say anything to him!âÂ
Taehyung opened the car door, and before he could even get into his seat, Tiffany spilled your fair adventure with Jimin to him. His eyes widened at her sudden rambling, and he quickly shut the door. âYou and Jimin did what now?â
You gave Tiffany a dirty look before you started driving out of the airport. âAnd you wonder why I donât tell you anything.â
âIâm sorry! I couldnât help it. This had to be shared!âÂ
âWait, are we talking about the same Jimin? The same Jimin as in our best friend? Jessica is okay with her boyfriend kissing other girls?â Taehyung asked, buckling his seat belt. âThereâs no way he cheated on her! He would have told me!âÂ
âI like how you say âoh thereâs no way he could cheat on herâ because he didnât tell you. Not âoh thereâs no way he could cheat on her because of the common decency and respect he has.ââ Groaning, you listened to Tiffany ramble again. âThey broke up two days ago before the whole fair thing because Jimin and Y/N went to look at wedding dresses-â
âYou did what now?â Taehyung shouted, interrupting Tiffany. âWhy did you go look at wedding dresses? With Jimin?!âÂ
âJimin found out that Jin and Y/N hooked up and got mad-â
âHe found out?!â Taehyung raised his voice again. âWhat happened?â
âDo you want to hear the story or not?!â Tiffany shouted at him, startling you to jerk to the side a little. A car honked when your car accidentally got close to theirs.
He sighed. âIâm sorry. Please continue, Tiffany.â
âTo make it up to her, he decided to take her shopping and thought it would be fun or funny to look at wedding dresses. As she tried them on, Jimin stared at her because you know, your cousin is so hot-â
âUm...â Taehyung mumbled under his breath, not questioning Tiffany.
âAnd he almost kissed her, but he stopped because Jessica called him.â Tiffany took a quick, but deep breath to continue the story. She was telling the story in a speed where anyone could barely understand her.
âJimin then realized he forgotten about his girlfriend and his five month anniversary, so he left your dear cousin alone in the wedding dress store to run to his girlfriend to only have her dump him. He then took Y/N to that ice cream shop back home and then the fair, telling her that he wasnât going to kiss her at the wedding shop, but he then later kissed her at the fair.â
âOuch.â Looking in the rear view mirror, you noticed Taehyung was wincing and shaking his head throughout the entire thing. âYouâre telling me this all happened when I was gone? Is this kind of a sick joke? Am I being pranked right now?âÂ
âActually it all happened in a span of four days,â Tiffany corrected. âNothing exciting between those two happened until now. If you had came back a little earlier, you would have seen it. Or maybe it wouldnât have had happened at all. Or maybe it could have ended with them having sex!â
âAnd thank you for that very detailed, helpful and unnecessary recap,â you deadpanned. âIâm sure Taehyung is now caught up and very confused.â
Having a blank expression on his face, he blinked. âIâm not confused but Iâm sure you are, huh?â
âI donât know,â you said.
His eyes narrowed. âDo you like him now?âÂ
âI donât know.âÂ
âBut Tae, we can agree that Jimin likes her, right?â Tiffany asked happily; she was practically living the dream. Somehow, she managed to become the biggest shipper of you and Jimin. âThereâs no waayyy he doesnât.âÂ
âHe said he doesnât!â You argued. âTae, back me up.âÂ
Your jaw dropped as Taehyung tilted his head, trying to think. He was hesitating to answer and scratched the back of his neck. âI actually donât know either.âÂ
âSee!â Tiffany gawked, crossing her arms. âHe knows, but he doesnât want to say it.âÂ
âI really donât know,â he said. âI donât want to give you false hope or anything, like, he hasnât told me anything. I mean, from what I know, you two are best friends, and Jimin might just be...lonely from the break up and me being away? Perhaps, lonely isnât the right word, but he always said he didnât like you like that.â
âBut...â Tiffany pressured him to go on.Â
âMaybe thereâs no but!â You snapped at Tiffany.Â
âThereâs a but,â Taehyung said much to your dismay. You could feel his eyes trying to stare at yours through the mirror, but you focused on the road and cars around you. âI think he has liked you the whole time. Heâs just realizing it.â
âWhy would you think he has liked me this whol-â Taehyung cut you off.Â
âJimin stayed because of you.âÂ
You wanted to slam on the brakes and give everyone whiplash; maybe then theyâll feel the pain you were feeling at that moment. Instead, you clenched the steering wheel, focused on the road and kept driving.
The car was suddenly silent. Everyone stopped talking at once and breathed silently. It seemed like everyoneâs heart had stopped beating. The only thing that could be heard were the cars driving and moving around you. At least between and Taehyung, too many thoughts and possibilities ran through your minds.
âAm I not understanding something? What is he talking about?â Tiffany asked you, not reading the room. âWhat do you mean he stayed? What was he going to leave for?â
âHe was supposed to go to Japan with Taehyung,â you said in a low voice.Â
You remembered when Taehyung told you. It was about three months ago, two weeks before he left. You were at his dorm, playing Mario Party with Jimin as Jin played computer games in his room. Taehyung had walked in around midnight with grocery bags. He was silent at first, but still managed to tell you the news of his trip that night.
âHey,â you said while focusing on the TV screen in front of you. You were in the middle of the couch; Taehyung sat on the right side and Jimin sat on the left side.Â
âItâs official! Iâm going abroad for a few weeks for my work course class,â Taehyung said. âItâs in Japan.â
âJapan?!â Pausing the game, your eyes widened in shock. Squealing, you wrapped your arms around your cousin. He chuckled and hugged you back with the same eagerness. âTae, thatâs amazing. When do you go?â
âIn a couple of weeks,â he replied, pulling away from you. He had the biggest smile on his face. It was the kind of smile that automatically made anyone smile. âMe and Jimin in Toyoko is going to be amazing.âÂ
The color drained out of your face. âWhat?â
He grimaced once he saw the confused look on your face. He then looked at Jimin. âYou didnât tell her?âÂ
There was this feeling of pain in your chest once you thought about the possibility of not having your best friend around. It was something you never felt before. The thought of Jimin leaving you made you feel uneasy.Â
As bad as it sound, you knew that you were going to be okay without your cousin. You knew he was going to think about you and come back. He was family. Even if he wanted to leave you, he couldnât. He was always going to come back to you.
On the other hand, you didnât know if you were going to be okay if Jimin went to Japan. He was your best friend, and you two were practically inseparable. A part of you would feel lost without him. You wondered if he felt the same: Would he feel lost without you? Would he think about you? Would he choose to come back to you?
Tears were starting to fill your eyes.
You turned your head to Jimin. He was sitting on the opposite side of you, and he had already been staring at you. There was a blank expression on his face as he waited for your reaction. âYouâre leaving too?âÂ
âNo, no, no,â he denied quickly. Sadness overtook his face once he realized you were crying. Grabbing your hand, he squeezed it to give you reassurance. âI was considering it, but honestly, I didnât really want to. Plus it couldnât even fit in my schedule.â
âBut-â Not letting you finish your sentence, he pulled you into a hug. You buried your face into his chest and had your tears stain his dark grey cotton t-shirt. You knew Jimin hated seeing you sad, but you couldnât help it. âI was so scared.â
"Sweetheart, Iâm not going anywhere,â he whispered into your ear, quiet enough for only you to hear it. Jimin knew how to calm you down better than everyone else. He rubbed your back and held you so tightly. His touch gave you reassurance and made you feel safe. âIâm staying here with you.âÂ
âWhen he hugged you, he looked me in the eye and mouthed âIâm staying for her.â And he did. He stayed for you.âÂ
You felt too many feelings all at once. You felt guilty for being the reason he gave up an opportunity. You felt selfish for not encouraging him to go; you should have been happy for him. You felt like you were a terrible best friend. Were you really the reason why he stayed?
Tiffany read you easily and knew you were not at ease. She nervously scoffed, thinking of an excuse to calm you down. âWe donât know that. Her could have meant a lot of things, like, his mom or even Jessica! They were dating at this time.âÂ
âJimin wanted to break up with Jessica.â Finally you slammed on the brakes and everyone came forward, hitting their head on something. âOuch! What the hell?!âÂ
âWhat?!â Tiffany shouted, not caring about the pain she was feeling in her head.Â
âHe didnât tell me that,â you argued.Â
âWell, he told me.â Taehyung shrugged, acting like this whole reveal was nothing special. âItâs not like he was trying to hook up with girls in Japan or something like that, but they were going through a rough patch and he was just tired of it.â
âA rough patch? What could have they gone through? They literally were together all the time unless he was with-â Tiffanyâs eyes widened in realization. She gasped. âThey were fighting over Y/N.âÂ
âIâm sorry, what?â A car behind you honked their horn at you.Â
âYou should drive. Weâre holding traffic,â Taehyung said. âPlus Iâm trying to go home to get ready for the party tonight.â
âIs this true?â You started driving again.Â
âThink about it, Y/N,â Tiffany said. âIt had to be about you.â
You sighed and rolled your eyes.Â
There was nothing to think about. Jessica couldnât possibly fight about you when she didnât even know you at all. You two had never once hung out or even had a proper decent conversation. Whenever she saw you with your best friend, she would take him away and leave you alone. Jimin always suggested the idea of the three of you hanging out, but she always denied. She also denied all the times Jimin invited her to hang out with you and the boys and always went home early once you started hanging out with them.Â
It was like she didnât even want to be in the same room with you.
âOh my god.â You quickly facepalmed yourself before focusing on the road again. âShe was jealous of my friendship with Jimin.âÂ
âBro code,â Taehyung said. âI canât confirm or deny.â
âBitch, yâall are family! Just tell us!â Tiffany begged. âI am tired of this!â
âAre we there yet?â He asked. âI suddenly canât be here anymore. I have to feed my cactus.â
She scoffed at Taehyung. âAll men do is lie.â
___Â
âHey, I was looking for you.â Feeling a pair of arms wrapped around your waist, you turned your head to Jimin behind you. He smiled at you before kissing your cheek.
âHey, happy birthday.â Although Jimin did this all the time, you felt different. There was a tingly feeling growing in your abdomen, and your knees felt like they were giving up, about to fall to the floor. He kissed your cheek once more, making you giggle. âYou look good.â
âThanks, I guess.â You laughed at his comment, not understanding how he managed to like your black tube top and camo sweats. âYou look good too.âÂ
He was wearing a white long-sleeve button up tucked into his black skinny jeans. His hair was now dyed lighter to a brown. He had always looked good, but there was just something about him tonight that made your heart flutter.
âHow much did you have to drink already?â You asked.
He puffed his cheeks out and shook his head. âHavenât had anything. And you?â
âIâll be right back,â Namjoon, whom you were talking to before Jimin came, excused himself. Before you could tell him to stay, he already went to the kitchen where everyone else was socializing and getting drinks from.Â
âI havenât had anything either.âÂ
His grip on your waist tightened. âDo you want a drink? Water? Chips? Food?â
âNot right now. Maybe later.â Jimin pecked your cheek again. He let go of you once you turned around to face him. âWhatâs up with you, brat?âÂ
âI havenât seen you all day, and I wanted to talk to my best friend,â he answered over the loud blaring music around you. âIs there something so wrong with that?âÂ
You raised your eyebrows. He was using the tone he used when he wanted something; you knew him too well. âWhat do you want?âÂ
"Nothing,â he lied, biting his lower lip.Â
âWhen are you going to realize I know your tell?â Jimin laughed at your comment. âDid you want me to cancel the strippers Tae ordered? Because I donât think I can do that.âÂ
âThe what?!â The smile on his face disappeared as terror took over his face.Â
âWhy are you surprised? Heâs been doing this since we started uni four years ago.â And every time it happens, it just gets worse and worse. Every year, you think to yourself âit canât be as terrible as last yearâ but somehow it always does.Â
âGive me a warning when they come, so I can hide from the whole thing. I am telling you everyone enjoys it way more than I do.â He shook his head. âI donât think I can handle it this year.â
âWhy not?âÂ
âI rather have y-â
âAnd thatâs where I stop you, bud.â You rolled your eyes. âWhat do you really want then?âÂ
âWanna get out of here?â He paused, but then continued speaking before you could reproach him. âJust for a little bit, not the whole time. I promise weâll come back. You know I wonât let the guysâ hard work go to waste.âÂ
âTwenty minutes.âÂ
______
âYou know itâs been a while since weâve left a party sober,â Jimin joked as the both of you walked together on the sidewalk beside each other. He had his hands tucked in the pocket of his black skinny jeans.Â
âI think weâve only left sober like three times.â You chuckled as you looked down at the ground. No matter the stride, big or small, you and Jimin always walked in sync with each other. He always found a way to follow the way you walk. âAnd there were all when I first moved in Taehyung.âÂ
âYou know, me and Taehyung thought you were going to be a light weight,â he admitted.
âYouâre kidding!â You laughed as you rolled your eyes. âI canât believe youâre just now telling me this! Why did you guys think that?âÂ
âWe didnât know you had prior experience before coming to parties with us,â Jimin said. âFrom what I remembered was that you were always a square and taking care of him at family gatherings while he snuck down liquor down his throat.âÂ
âHe wouldnât know because he would always drink early and pass out when I do shots with the rest of the family.âÂ
Jimin laughed. âCan you believe itâs been six years? I didnât realize itâs been that long since weâve became friends.âÂ
One of your favorite things in the world was looking and understanding other peopleâs perspectives and personality; out of all the people you know, you think Jiminâs is your favorite.Â
No matter what, Jimin always made sure to be the most understanding person ever. He always knew what to say whether it was to cheer you up, comfort you, make you laugh or make you cry; it was very rarely where you were mad from his words or his actions.Â
When everyone else talked about the time you moved here, everyone just thinks of it of the time you moved in with Taehyung or the time of your momâs passing, but Jimin, on the other hand, looked at it at a more positive note; he looked at the time as the day you and your friendship started.Â
Before you could get sidetracked, you had to ask him. âWhy didnât you tell me you wanted to break up with Jessica?âÂ
The smile on his face dropped. âWhat are you talking about?âÂ
âRight before Taehyung went to Japan. You wanted to break up with her.â Your statement sounded like more of a question. Â
From the look of his face, you could tell he was hiding something, but he tried to play it off cool. âI mean, we still stayed together, so it didnât really matter if I wanted to break up with her or not.âÂ
âWhat?â You asked in disbelief, not understanding his argument. âThatâs not the point, like, at all, dude. You lied to me.âÂ
He shrugged his shoulders as if he didnât have a care in the world. âIf you knew why, you would feel bad about yourself, and I rather have you feel mad towards me.âÂ
âWell, I feel bad about myself and am mad at you, so if you wanted that to happen, then good job.â You both stopped in your tracks to look at each other. âYou lied to me, Jimin, and now Iâm the reason why you and her arenât together anymore.â
âYou shouldnât feel bad at all.â Jimin shook his head. âI clearly stated that you literally do not do anything wrong, and that we are just best friends. It was her problem that she didnât get that through her head. It had nothing to do with you.â
âPlease donât tell me you gave her an ultimatum.â You gave Jimin a death glare.
âDeal with our friendship or lose me?â He scoffed. âOf course I did.â
âJimin!âÂ
âYou are more important to me than any relationship. They know you mean a lot to me, and they should know that Iâm not going to throw away our friendship for them.âÂ
You couldnât help but to look down at your feet. You were relieved that Jimin cared about you, but it just confused you even more: did he feel something too?Â
âWhatâs wrong?â He put his hands on his shoulders. âTalk to me, Y/N.âÂ
âI just wished you didnât keep this from me,â you quietly let out. âWe donât keep secrets from each other.â
Jimin chuckled before wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into a gentle hug. He kissed the top of your head and rubbed your back in small circles before using his sweet voice. âIâm sorry. Please donât be mad at me.â
âYou know Iâm never mad at you.â He sighed in relief, knowing you had already forgiven him. âLetâs head back before everyone else gets mad.â
As you and Jimin walked back to the party in silence, you couldnât help but to let your thoughts consume you: no matter what happens, you knew that you would always forgive Jimin; he was your Achillesâ heel.Â
But you didnât know if you could forgive him when the time comes and he suddenly realizes someone will be more important than you and your friendship with him. You couldnât simply be mad at him for living his life without you but you donât know if you could forgive him when he breaks your heart.Â
_______
Just by looking at you, Taehyung knew you werenât okay after coming back from your walk with Jimin. He obviously didnât know what to say, but he knew he couldnât stop you from drinking every cup filled with alcohol; he just made sure to look after you.
âDo you want to talk about it?â He asked as the both of you were in the kitchen, next to the keg where everyone was focused, watching the birthday strippers with Jimin.Â
âWhat is there to talk about?â You asked before swallowing your drink down.
âLike, I donât know. Did something happened between the both of you?â
âNo.â Your cousin raised his eyebrows at you. âAnd maybe thatâs the problem. Nothing will happen, and I donât think Iâm okay about that.âÂ
âDo you like him then?âÂ
âYes,â you said in a small voice that you couldnât even recognized. âHell, I might even love him and that hurts my heart.â
âMaybe you should tell him,â he suggested as if it was the easiest thing in the world. âLook, I know itâs bothering you now if youâre drinking this much from a walk with him. I already know youâre going to be a mess once the alcohol kicks in, but I canât imagine when thereâs nothing to distract you. That feeling is just going to kill you.âÂ
âAnd you donât think itâs going to kill me to risk my friendship when he probably doesnât feel the same way, Tae?â You snapped.Â
âHey, whatâs going on?â Yoongi asked with a strange look on his face. The main event must have ended. Everyone was back to socializing with each other and was starting to gather around the kitchen again. âEverything alright?âÂ
âJust peachy,â you answered, taking another sip of your drink. âDo you want to be my partner for beer pong?âÂ
âNot in the mood to play,â Yoongi answered. He turned around, beckoning Jin to come over. âBut Jinâs actually looking for a partner to play against Jimin and Jungkook.â
You looked over to Taehyung who shook his head in disapproval. âSounds perfect.â
âYeah, whatâs up?â Jin asked when he finally reached the three of you.
âMan, good luck,â Taehyung said. âPromise me that youâll take care of her.âÂ
Jin laughed and promised Taehyung before putting his arm around you and walking over to the dinning room table where Jungkook and Jimin were at the opposite side of the table, setting up the cups. They were both laughing as they tried ridiculous cup formations for the game.
âAre you guys hooking up again?â Jungkook joked as he saw the both of you.Â
Not understanding his joke, Jimin looked up to what Jungkook was looking at and saw you and Jin. The smile quickly disappeared from his face, and he straighten his posture as he stood next to Jungkook
âNice joke, but you wonât be laughing when we beat your asses,â Jin taunted as he let go of you.Â
âIâm not even laughing now,â Jimin retorted.
âAre you okay?â You asked Jimin, scrunching his eyebrows together.
âLetâs just start,â Jungkook said before he could let Jimin answer you.Â
The alcohol finally hit you like a ton a bricks right as the game started. You were out of it and couldnât aim properly, missing almost all your shots. Despite the fact that you looked like a whole clown playing against the pros, Jin laughed and reassured you it was okay as he made almost all the shots in.
It was basically a competition between Jin and Jungkook as you and Jimin stood there to drink.Â
âI think we should stop before Y/N here passes out,â Jin suggested as he bounced the ball on the table. He noticed you gotten a lot more quiet and were slowly drifting your eyes whenever you had the chance.
âShe can take care of herself.â Jimin groaned as the ball its way into the cup. He was as drunk as you were. âItâs her decision.âÂ
âDude, are you okay?â Jungkook asked him as Jimin put the cup down. âYouâve been off your A-game and kind of hostile this entire game.âÂ
âAre you okay?â Jimin asked, ignoring Jungkook. âDo you want to lay down in my room?âÂ
âCan we?â You asked, ready to fall asleep. âIâm a little dizzy or I need a nap.â
Ignoring Jungkookâs questions still, Jimin left Jungkookâs side and stood next to you, putting his hand out. He waited for you to grab it as the both of you walked to his bedroom as the party continued on.Â
âDo you want to change?â He asked as you headed towards the bed, already getting under the his gray covers. You havenât been since he started Jessica, and you forgot how much you loved the smell of his fabric soften and him. âAre you sure?âÂ
âMhm.â Jimin laughed as he got under the covers, laying right next to you with your back facing him. âIâm so tired.â
âI know.â Without asking, he put his arm around you to hold you. âAnd you looked so good.âÂ
âHmmm,â you replied as you were drifting to sleep.
âIf you gave me the green light, I wouldnât hold back,â he said. âBut I love you so much and I already am content with holding you like this.â

âHappy birthday,â Jimin whispered into your ear, pulling you closer to him as the two of you lay in bed, still a little hangover from last nightâs party. He kissed the back of your head, secretly resting his face on your hair. âWhat do you want to do today?âÂ
Groaning, you opened your eyes, trying to adjust to the sunlight, coming from the windows. âIâm studying all day for my midterm thatâs on Monday.âÂ
âYou cannot be serious, right? Or are you actually the biggest dork ever?â he teased, making you laugh. âItâs Saturday though. You can study tomorrow all day and celebrate today, Dude.â Â
âThis exam is worth over forty percent of my grade, Dude,â you mocked using the same tone he did. âI havenât even looked at the study guide yet, and I really am trying to pass the class with an A.â Â
âBut itâs your birthday,â he argued.
Ever since living with Taehyung, you and Jimin usually shared a birthday celebration, but coming to college, you had grown out of celebrating your birthday, so Taehyung would just throw a party for Jimin only and then invited your closest friends to a simple, birthday dinner, ordering cheesecake for dessert the next night.Â
âAnd I donât want anything, especially, when we celebrated your birthday last night.âÂ
âCome on, we should do something,â he whined, still wanting to celebrate your birthday. âBesides, didnât we also agree to go to Joshuaâs party tonight?âÂ
âWe?â Turning your head, you raised your eyebrows as you looked at him, correcting him. âIâm pretty sure I said no while you drunkenly promised him that you would be there.âÂ
âI canât go without my partner in crime,â he said. âCome on, if we go, we get to celebrate for free at Joshuaâs.âÂ
Before you could say anything, Jiminâs phone started to ring. With his right arm around you, he searched around and moved his left arm all around, trying to find his phone on the bed, but he eventually let go and sat up once he realized his phone was on the nightstand to his right.Â
âWhy didnât you answer?â You sat up as well, watching Jimin as he turned the sound off on his phone and put it facing down on the nightstand. âWho was it?â
He shrugged, looking away from his phone to look at you. âIt was just my alarm.âÂ
âWait, your alarm sound is the same sound as your ringtone?âÂ
âItâs supposed to help me wake up faster if I think someone is actually calling me,â he explained, making a good, reasonable point. âBut it just makes me hate my ringtone now.âÂ
âWeird.âÂ
He rolled his eyes and changed the subject. âHow do I change your mind for tonight?âÂ
âIf I can recite my whole study guide to you by 7, we can go.â
âChallenge accepted.â And thatâs when Jimin rushed out of bed, opened his dresser, tossing a bunch of clothes onto the ground. Eventually, he tossed a pair of grey sweats onto the bed where you were at and started to change right in front of you.Â
âDude?âÂ
âGet dressed,â he instructed.
As you got ready, he went to the kitchen and started the stove, putting an black frying pan on the stove top. He waited for a couple minutes before putting bread onto the pan, trying to make some French Toast.Â
You sat down at the island, eating the breakfast he prepared as he took a seat next to you, putting his laptop between the two of you. He opened your universityâs site, putting all your information in.Â
âWait, how do you know my password?âÂ
âYour password is still the same from when I first met you,â he explained, typing away to pull up your study guide. âWhy is it still âSeoul1411?ââ
âShould I just tell you my bank account, so you could just remember and I donât have to?â You joked.Â
After you finished eating, you looked through your electronic book online, looking at the parts you needed to study as Jimin started writing on vocabulary terms and definitions on flashcards. He monitored your breaks, taking your phone away and making sure you werenât distracted from anything. He even took the time to cook more meals.Â
As you studied, you couldnât help to notice that Jimin stole glances to at his phone, as if he was waiting it to ring. But if that were the case, he always made sure to decline their call before you could see it ring. Though, there was one time you saw it ring. âWho is it?âÂ
He declined the call and put it faced down on the table. âThose spam dealership callers.â
âWhy donât you block them?â He shrugged, changing the subject by asking you a question from your study guide.Â
By the time the clock hit seven, Jimin could have taken your test for you and pass with flying colors even though the subject was completely different from his major classes. His brain felt fuzzy from all the studying he did, but he knew how much it meant to you to do this. âHow are you feeling for your exam?âÂ
âI think I can do well.â He nodded excitedly. âLetâs just not go too crazy tonight, because I still want to study, starting tomorrow morning.âÂ
âAnd I will help you,â he promised. âGo home and get ready for tonight, and Iâll meet you at Joshuaâs.â
______Â
âYou know the designated drivers arenât supposed to drink anything at all, right? Thatâs usually how it works,â you said as you watched Taehyung eye the alcohol on Joshuaâs island counter. âOr at least so I think.âÂ
âHa, ha, so funny,â he deadpanned, rolling his eyes. âIâm surprised to see you here and drinking when I heard you just wanted to study the whole day.â
Shortly after Taehyung and Jimin arrived together, they were pulled aside and cornered by Joshua and his friends to play beer pong, but only Jimin went as he won against Taehyung in rock, paper, scissors on who would be the sober one tonight. Your cousin then found you in the kitchen by yourself.
You shrugged. âI guess Iâm surprised too.âÂ
âDid you actually study today, or did more happened?â You playfully pushed him your cousin away. âWhat?âÂ
âWe just studied because nothing is going on between us,â you gritted through your teeth.  âWeâre just friends. Nothing more, nothing less.âÂ
âLook, Cousin, the last time you said that was literally last night, and you drank so much that I got drunk just from looking at you.â He took a quick look in the direction where Jimin was at, laughing with his friends and then preceded to look back at you. âWhatever is going on between the two of you is your business, but you need to tell him your boundaries or establish what you guys are. Otherwise youâre just going to get hurt or disrespected.âÂ
âAnd I think thatâs my cue for another drink.â You started to pour whatever was in front of you into a red cup, thinking about Taehyungâs words. You knew it was true and that he meant well, but his warning hurt more than you thought it would.Â
By your fifth cup, Jimin made his way towards you. He smiled, holding back his laugh as you looked at him with your drunken eyes. âSunshine, are you okay?âÂ
âWhy wouldnât I be?â You slurred your words.
âLetâs take a walk to sober up.âÂ
_____
Itâs like deja vu from yesterday, but this time the both of you are walking around Joshuaâs neighbor with Taehyung a few paces behind. He doesnât the two most important people in his life be drunk and missing if he left the two of you alone on the street.Â
âLooks like youâre having fun today,â Jimin teased, content with the smile on your face.Â
âIâm glad we came out today.â Itâs been over ten minutes outside, and the cold night definitely woke you out of your state. âI want to dance later.âÂ
âWe can do that together.âÂ
Before you could say anything, his phone rang. He took it out of his pocket, and the smile on your face disappeared when you looked at Jiminâs phone screen. All day, youâve been so blind that you didnât realize your best friend was lying to you; it wasnât an automatic machine spamming his phone, it was Jessica. As he stared down at her contact picture, deciding on what to do, you stared at him. In a low voice, you asked, âWhy is she calling you?â
Still letting the phone ring, he sighed, refusing to look at you. âWeâre in the process of maybe getting back together.â
âWhat?âÂ
âI need to talk to her and figure all of this out.â Letting go of his hand, all the color in his face left. Jimin tried holding your hand again, but you flinched and took a step back. âY/N, whatâs wrong?â
âWhatâs wrong?! Are you kidding me?!â You cried, tears streaming down your face. âYouâre going back to her!â
Taehyung was right. You should have reemphasize that everything between you was strictly platonic, that there was nothing there, right there and then at the wedding dress shop. This wouldnât happen if you had done that.Â
âNo, no! Thatâs not it,â he denied, putting his hands on the side of your arms. The two of you were staring at each other, face to face. âI just need to make things right. Iâm going to talk to her now.â
In a small voice, you asked, âAnd what about me?â
âWhat do you mean?â He raised his eyebrows, not understanding what you were asking. âWhat about you?âÂ
You remember the night Tiffany asked you that if there ever came a day where you liked Jimin what would you do. Itâs silly to think that you thought you could live with the pain and live next to his side as if nothing was there. You had to know the truth; you couldnât stay in this seesaw game, not knowing if he truly wanted you. âDo you even care about me?â
âOf course I care about you!â He said with no hesitation. âHow could I not care about you, Y/N?â
And deep down, you knew Jimin would do anything for you. If you wanted him to get you a drink from a coffee shop before work, he would get it. If you wanted concert tickets to a sold out show, heâll find a way to get you those tickets. If he could, he would give you the moon. Of course he fucking cared about you. But what did it exactly mean? How could he treat you like this and then pick someone else to do it with as well?
Now knowing what his lips taste like, you donât think you could ever share Jimin ever again. âI canât do this anymore, Jimin.â
He took a gulp. âDo what?â
âYou say you donât want to kiss me, then do. You tell me I mean the world and act like youâre my boyfriend, but then you act like nothing happened between us, like, I am nothing to you,â you said slowly, processing whatever that was coming out of your mouth. âI am nothing to you.âÂ
âPlease, baby, Iâll explain everything tomorrow.â
âDonât call me that!â You think back to Taehyungâs words, how you were being disrespected. âYouâre going back to her! Itâs clear that I love you, but you used me to try to get over her. You just wanted someone under you.â
âThatâs not it! Youâre not thinking clearly.â He took his hands off your arms and shook his head. âYouâre drunk.â
âIâm not drunk!â You screamed at him, taken back by your own voice. Itâs been awhile since you last screamed at your best friend, but it was never like this. âI canât do this anymore.â
âYou canât do what anymore? Us? Our friendship? Youâre giving it all up?â
âI canât keep my feelings bottled up and be your little secret. One minute you want me and the next you donât.â
âOf course I want you. Youâre my best friend.â
âI canât be best friends with someone who doesnât love me back. I canât. Not anymore.â
âPlease donât do this, Y/N.âÂ
âThe thing is, Iâm not doing anything,â you sobbed. âJimin, youâre the only one who makes me happy when I feel like absolute crap. You know how to cheer me up and make me laugh. There isnât a day I donât think about you and how you make my life better.â
He doesnât say anything.Â
All he had to do was to tell you that he feels the same way, that no one else compares to you, that your existence was the only thing he needed in this world. He knew what you wanted, and he knew you deserved it, yet he gave you an answer; because no answer is an answer.Â
How ironic that silence is the loudest thing you can hear.
Shaking your head, you took a step back, but end up tripping on your own feet. You expected to hit the ground, but your cousin is there to catch you. âIâm taking her home first and getting you then. Weâre not doing this in front of a light pole at 2 in the morning.â
With your arm wrapped around Taehyung, the two of you walked over to his car, parked to the curb. It wasnât until after opening the passenger door, Jimin finally broke the silence. âYou know that I love you, Y/N.â
His heart broke when you look at him with tears flooding your eyes. âYeah, just not like that.â

The worst part about losing someone is that no amount of crying or missing them could bring them back. Because at the end of the day, the world will move on and slowly forget the sole existence of the one you loss. Â
No amount of expensive flowers, words of affirmations, long hugs from family members, and dishes of casserole could ever make you heal from the loss of your mother.Â
While your grieving father received endless support and meaningful gestures from losing the love of his life, you were completely locked up in your bedroom, trying to replace the empty feeling in your life. There was no crying, screaming, or laughter coming out of you; all you felt was numbness in your sixteen year old body.
As the days passed on, the feeling began to fade, but on the day that marked the sixth year of your motherâs death, you couldnât help but to feel the hole in your heart once again. It couldnât just be an ordinary day and had to be a day that reminded you of heartbreak.Â
Already knowing your phone was buzzing on the black nightstand from calls and texts from your aunt, your dad, and friends, asking if you were okay, you cling to the queen-sized blanket to your chest with tears running down your face.
âI know you donât want to talk right now,â Taehyung said in a soft voice. He was outside your closed bedroom door, unsure what to do to comfort you. âAnd thatâs okay because you donât have to. I just want to let you know that your dadâs flight got delayed, so heâll be here tomorrow with my mom and dad. He also ordered food for us tonight. Itâs from your favorite restaurant from your hometown.âÂ
He patiently waited for your response, but you stayed quiet. He wanted to hear anything from a âfuck offâ to a sarcastic remark that you werenât hungry. He was about to walk away, until he said, âWe can even watch the Lorax on repeat, and I wonât complain about anything.âÂ
Although it was faint, he smiled, hearing a small laugh and your soft, sad voice. âBut you hate the Lorax.âÂ
âI do.â He chuckled. âBut I know you miss watching it with your mom, and thatâs all that matters.âÂ
But she wasnât here.Â
Before you could reply, the sound of your bedroom door opening and closing stopped you. You were about to throw a pillow, ready to scream at him to leave you, but the sight of Jimin in his black university sweats with his hair all messy as if he had just woken up too, surprised you.
It had been a couple weeks since youâve last spoken to Jimin. He sent numerous texts and left a dozen voicemails, wanting to explain everything after that night, but since then, he took your silence as an answer, not reaching out to you. Additionally, he didnât ask your friends about you and had avoided situations if he knew you were going to be there.Â
Although you knew that Taehyung told your friends what had happened between the two of you, they respectfully didnât ask you or mention Jiminâs name around you, allowing you to have personal space away from the topic. You didnât know how it was possible for them to act like Jimin never existed, but the feeling was refreshing, knowing your identity was still separate than being Taeâs cousin and Jiminâs best friend.Â
There were times when you felt bad, depriving them of one of their closest friends. You didnât mean for it to seem like a divorced family type of ordeal, but at the same time, you were glad your friends understood the fact that you were hurt and not ready to talk to him.Â
However, three days ago, you had run into Jessica at Jimin and Taehyungâs dorm complex. Although it was expected to see Jessica, you were still surprised that you had run into her first than running into your best friend.
âJessica!â Your eyes widened in shock as you had gotten off the elevator. She was holding a couple of black dry-cleaning bags in one hand and keys in the other. âWhat are you doing here?âÂ
âHeyâŚâ She gave you a smile, but you could tell there was a feeling of annoyance of your presence in her system. âIâm heading up there to drop some things off.âÂ
âOh.â Your heart dropped, seeing the dry-cleaning bag with Jiminâs name on it.Â
âYeahâŚâ Her voice trailed off.Â
âOkay, this is awkward.â You nervously laughed, but Jessica did not join in. âI hope you know that me and Jimin never did anything, and I never had any motive or intention of jeopardizing your relationship with him.âÂ
âItâs in the past now.â She shrugged, tightening her grip on the hanger. âWe talked about it, and itâs alright. No big deal. Were you just hanging out with him?âÂ
âNo, actually.â She raised her eyebrows at you, surprised with your answer. âI was with Jin. We baked some cookies. You should have some when you get up there because thereâs a lot left.â
Nodding, she took the opportunity to say goodbye and went on the elevator, clicking on the button to their apartment. âIâll see you later.â
Without saying a word, Jimin got on the right side of the bed, pulling the blanket over his body. If it had been any other time, he would intertwine his legs with yours, wiping away the tears on your face. But afraid of your response, he stared at you for a while. âOh my sweet princess, have you ate yet? Itâs almost noon.âÂ
You wanted to ask him what he was doing here, but instead you lied, nodding your head. He knew you hadnât ate at all, but he wasnât going force or reprimand you. He knew that was the last thing you needed, so he kept staring into your eyes, hoping you would talk to him.
âTo be honest, I was going to take you out to get ice cream again and maybe to the fair to get your mind off of things before we watched the movie.â He paused to yawn, still probably tired from the night before with Jessica. âBut I know you, and if we did that, it wouldnât make you happy. Because it wonât fix the feeling of missing your mom. It wonât bring her back.âÂ
âIâm stupid right? Because you would think after six years, I would know what to do by now. That the last thing on your mind is to distract yourself from that feeling.â You closed your eyes, letting the tears run down your face. It had already hurt, but the feeling intensified hearing, seeing, breathing of the person you had just lost. âI know you probably think it should be time to move on and do whatâs best. But hereâs the thing Y/N, itâs been six years and itâs still okay to cry. If that is best for you, then it is okay to cry.âÂ
âItâs been six years,â you repeated, still with your eyes closed, trying to imagine her face without looking at a picture. As the years blurred together, you were slowly starting to forget what she looked like, what she sounded like, what she felt like and more.Â
Besides apologizing over the loss, people kept telling you that your mother still lived in your memories and in your heart, and that time could heal you. But that was all a lie to comfort you. Because six years later, you were starting to forget her along with everyone else.Â
âCan I wipe your tears?â He asked, not wanting to make you uncomfortable. âI wonât unless you let me.â
Giving him permission, he wiped your tears, wishing he could make it stop. âIt hurts,â you cried. âEverything is fine, but Iâm not.âÂ
âDarling, I know,â he said. âI know, let it out.âÂ
For the longest time, you had thought losing your mom was the worst thing that could have happened to you. She wouldnât see you graduate, be there for your first heartbreak and see her grandchildren playing on the front porch.Â
But at that moment, it felt like you were crying because you missed her, but you realized it hurt even more losing someone who was still alive because theyâre still here, but no longer in your life.Â
There might be a day when maybe the two of you could talk about what had happened, what went wrong and perhaps, what could have been. The time to do that was not right now. You were not ready to face the truth.Â
And even though it hurt, you were glad that your best friend was here even if he didnât feel the same way as you did.
As soon as the sun goes down, you were going to have to live with that fact that from now on, you were going to deal with everything alone. No one else in the world would understand or even comprehend enough to comfort you like he did. You had to enjoy and cherish this moment.
You had to grieve over the loss of Jimin, and you knew that was going to take a lifetime to get over.Â

The next morning, the sun rose and was peeping through the black curtains and jimin was gone. The blankets tucked around you were being held against your chest, trying to ignore the ache forming there. Taking a deep breath, you dragged yourself out of bed and wiped the tears in your eyes before they could even fall.Â
You had to get used to this. The feeling of heartache would soon go away and the way your heart would race after hearing jiminâs name would too. You needed to go back to see him as a best friend, not anything more. And if that feeling never goes away, it would just take time and some space away from everyone especially from him to ever act the same again.Â
You pulled your dresser drawer open and grabbed a new set of clothes. A navy-blue college sweatshirt and some white sweatpants would suffice today. You were a mess, so it would only be fair if you looked like a mess.
Twisting your silver door handle, there was Jimin, standing in front of the kitchen sink. his hair was tangled and up everywhere. He was rubbing his eyes with his fists as you slowly walked to the kitchen. You could wake up to this, to him, but you couldnât and it hurt you.Â
âGood morning.â Jiminâs words come out nonchalantly as if everything between the two of you was okay. âSorry, did I wake you? I was going to make some breakfast, but you really donât have the items needed for it.â Â
âJimin, please.â Just like last night, your soft voice cracked again. You didnât even know what you were begging him to do. All you knew is that you couldnât take it anymore. The fact he was acting as if everything was the same was killing you. He shouldnât be here. âI canât do this.âÂ
Taking a step backwards, he stepped forward and reached out to cup your left cheek with his hand. âWe have things to talk about, I know. But right now, letâs just enjoy some cereal.â
âIâm not ready.â Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath. Being in the same room was already hard enough, and you knew there was no way you could even look at him without feeling your heart break all over again. âPlease just leave me alone. Forget about yesterday.â
âI canât lose you again.â His voice cracked.Â
âPlease, just go,â you begged. âI never ask for much, can you do this one thing?â
âYou need to know the truth.â Looking up, Jimin had tears in his eyes. âWhen Taehyung told me to go with him to get his cousin at the train station, I thought that you were going to be an annoying person to have around, but then I thought to myself âwow, sheâs beautiful. how is she related to Tae?â when I saw you with your messy hair and smudged glasses.â
If it were any other situation, you would roll your eyes, chuckle and playfully punch him. In fact, it was such an instinct to do that you had to hold yourself back. There was something telling you that you should tell him to stop, but you stayed quiet, staring at him, trying to put his thoughts into the world.
His words echoed in your head.Â
You need to know the truth.Â
âI thought you got super cool each time I talked to you, and the day we went to get ice cream, was the day it all changed for me. When you were looking at the menu, trying to decide a flavor, I thought to myself âI could never get tired of thisâ and I never did.â He smiled at the memory, wishing he could relive it all over again. âWhen we became closer, I was so happy, because you were just incredible and I was just me. I kept everything in because you deserved someone better..â
He paused, thinking you would have some snarky comment about either if he thought he could ever be that or who was he the one to decide that. Taking your silence, he began speaking again.
âBut when I saw you in the white wedding ball gown, I completely lost it. I knew I had to be the one at the end of the aisle, seeing you walk down in a white, getting married to you.â Jimin sounded like he wanted to cry a river of tears. His voice cracked at every few words like yours did last night. His heart was rushing as he poured out his feelings to you as you listened with tears streaming down your face like Niagara Falls. âAnd that day at the fair meant everything to me but I just thought how could someone like you want me, so I texted Jessica and I felt absolute shit when you told me how you felt, and I said nothing. I wanted to say it back, god, I did.âÂ
Despite everything you had been through, your face couldnât help but to pout at his words. He had no idea the effect he hadâhasâ on you. You knew he was telling the truth.Â
âBut how right would it be when Jessica was literally calling me all day that day? We never got back together and before you can say anything, she told me she saw you when you came over to hang out with Jin.â Your eyes widened, not knowing he knew about your encounter with Jessica. âThe night of your birthday, when you left me, I told her the truth over the phone. That all this time it will always be you. It was all bad timing that she was returning all my stuff the day you happened to see her. We never got back together, you have to believe me.âÂ
And you did, but you stayed quiet.Â
âAnd my dumbass stopped talking to you because I thought you would want space, but, darling, please know that I never meant to hurt you at all. I love you, god, I fucking do. Every time I told everyone that we didnât like each other just like that, I didnât have the guts to admit it in case you never felt it. I love you like that. I love you more than Prince Harry loves Meaghan. I would give up everything for you, and I am so sorry to put you through that pain. Because you didnât deserve that. And I will never forgive myself for letting you go that day and for not saying it back.â There were wet tears coming from Jiminâs eyes. Your thumb wiped the tears off causing him to chuckle and cup your face. He wiped your tears and smiled down at you. âHi my love.â
After his confession, you still were speechless. The only thought that came into your head was the memory of your conversation with Tiffany the night of the bar when she asked you about your feelings towards Jimin. He felt a similar way to you that he had rather be your friend than to lose you by confessing his feelings.Â
Somehow, you were to oblivious to realize what had been there along.
But he knew what he was doing when telling everyone you were just friends and treating you like a girlfriend when he had broken up with Jessica. He had been trying to protect himself. He played with your feelings, hoping you would get the hint. He thought he would be doing you a favor, but you could easily see how he was putting himself in a position not to be hurt.Â
âI need time.â
âI know.â He nodded in understanding. âI just want you to talk to me when youâre ready, even if you do not feel the same way anymore after everything.âÂ
âAnd what if Iâm never ready?â You asked in a small voice that you couldnât even recognize it was you speaking.Â
Although Jimin had never heard you use the kind of tone, he knew that might be true: that you may never ever be ready to see him again. âEven ten years from now, I will be around. I promise, I would wait a lifetime for you even if I can only have you as a best friend.âÂ
_______
âWhat are you thinking about?â Your dad asked you as the two of you and Taehyung were sitting around your motherâs grave while Taehyungâs parents were still on their way.Â
You felt guilty for thinking about Jimin when you were standing in front of your motherâs grave. You thought about his actions and how he made the decisions without you. Looking up at your dad, you asked, âWhy did you leave me alone?â Your dadâs eyebrows raised in confusion, not expecting your question, especially six years later. âI know you thought it was for the best for me, but why didnât you asked me before you left?âÂ
âY/N,â Taehyung articulated. âI donât think now is the right time for this.âÂ
âItâs okay, Kiddo,â Your dad reassured him, giving him a sad smile. âYou deserve to know the truth. Quite frankly, Iâm surprised it took you this long to ask when I know you think about everything, just like your mother. Ask me everything on your mind, and I will tell you.âÂ
âWhy did you leave me all alone when I needed you after Mom died? Why did you make that decision without me?â You cried softly.Â
âI wasnât ready to be there, and I thought I was doing what was best for you, but it was really best for me. I was afraid to not raise you right and disappoint your mother, you, and me,â he answered. âAnd I am so sorry for not being there for you when you needed me. It took me so long to realize that I should have been there and I want to make it up to you as long as you let me.â
âDonât you think itâs a little too late?â Taehyung started rubbing your back, trying to comfort you through your tears. âYouâre supposed to be my dad, and yet you left me, feeling like weâre as close as strangers! I lost my mom and it was like I had to lose another parent unofficially.â
âYouâre right, it wasnât fair to you. I thought it would be better for you, but I was wrong, and I know that saying sorry or telling you all these reasons isnât going to fix anything. But I want to fix it now.âÂ
âAnd how to forgive you? How do you repair the hole that you left?â You asked, wiping your tears.Â
âRealizing how much it hurt you and me, you donât deserve to continue to carry the negative feelings of resentment and disappointment. You deserve to be happy, and I owe it to you to make that happen. You deserve to know that it wasnât your fault, and it was mine.âÂ
A small part of you did resent your father for leaving you all alone, making you blame yourself for his absence. But as you listened to your father tell you that it wasnât your fault, you finally began to feel a weight off your shoulders, as if his words had healed you. You could begin letting go of everything that had harmed you.Â
People will make mistakes, and sometimes they need to figure out their shit before they could be the best version of themselves to be there for you.Â
Your dad reached there.
Jimin just reached there.
And now it was your turn.
You had to forgive them and be more compassionate to yourself.Â
Wrapping your arms around your father, you cried, releasing all the pain you had been carrying, wishing for your mom to come back and tell you itâll be okay.

summary: you finally talk to jimin at the charity ball
word count: 1859
genre: bestfriend!jimin, college!au, bestfriends to lovers!au - fluff/angst
For the first time in years, Christmas was something you were looking forward to, and everyone was surprised to see you participating in the off-key caroling of Christmas songs with everyone. Normally, you would watch everyone decorate the tree as you sneak into the kitchen, eating the Christmas theme cookies, leaving none for Santa.Â
It was the first Christmas you would have with your father and Taehyungâs family ever since the passing of your mother. Though, your father still wanted to honor your mother, by hosting a charity ball on Christmas Eve, inviting everyone to spread Christmas cheer to each other.Â
People were free to donate gifts that would be given to the children at the orphanage and hospitals, and there was money being raised through some local performances which included Hobiâs dancing, Joonâs rapping, Yoongiâs piano solo, Jeonggukâs boxing, Taehyungâs stand up comedy and more. Jin helped the caterers by baking the peppermint cookies and some truffles. You had invited all their friends and families, bringing everyone you knew.
âAre you not doing anything?" Jin asked, standing next to up as you went to the bar to order some water. Unlike everyone else who was wearing a regular suit, Jin was wearing a black tuxedo with a bowtie that had candy canes on it. âAre we going to see you sing?â
âGod no.â You laughed, grabbing the water from the counter. âIf I did, we would not make any money for the kids.âÂ
âI keep telling her that it is a shame that we do not get to hear her vocals tonight,â Taehyung joked, coming next to you. Your cousin was wearing a white suit with a glass of white wine in left his hand, trying to relax his nerves before his performance. His hair was slick back, looking like his father.Â
âHey,â Tiffany greeted with a fake smile, not letting her mouth snap into a straight light. âI donât mean to be the bearer of bad news, but did you guys invite Jimin?âÂ
The smile on your face quickly faded, thinking you would have more time before you would have to see your best friend again.Â
âMy parents might have because they obviously donât know..â Taehyungâs voice trailed off.
âItâs okay,â you assured him, shrugging. âThis is my first Christmas with my dad, and I am not going to let him or my feelings ruin that.âÂ
âWell, how are you feeling?â Tiffany asked, a concerned look all over her face.Â
There were two words to describe everything happening all at once: confusing and overwhelming.Â
For a couple weeks, you had been basically grieving over the loss of your best friend, thinking he did not love you back, and that this whole relationship was one-sided. You gave yourself the time and distance from Jimin just so you werenât reminded how he rested his head on yours when he wrapped his arms around you.Â
But after Jiminâs confession, there had been no time to process everything. It was the anniversary of your motherâs passing, and you were starting to rebuild a relationship with your father. You were distracted, and you wanted to keep it that way. You didnât want to be alone in your thoughts, thinking about what you should do about the situation. âFine.âÂ
âYouâre fine?â Taehyungâs eyebrow quirked up. He knows that you donât show emotions besides the times you had grieved over your mother. But honestly, your cousin knew that if you severed your friendship with Jimin, it would be as big of a loss. âThatâs it?âÂ
You wanted to be fine.Â
It should not be a problem that you and your best friend have feelings for each other. The story could simply end happily ever after at that point. But you couldnât understand how the boy that watched your momâs favorite movie with you every year, lied about his feelings. How could he lie to you, knowing how much pain it caused? Why couldnât he just pick you from the beginning? Did you really go through his mind when he chose someone else? Why now?Â
âStop overthinking, youâre breaking your own heart,â Taehyung reminded you quietly, not letting anyone around you hear his comment. Even now at a complicated time, he was protecting your ego and taking care of you while being unbiased, and you were sure he did the same to Jimin. âLetâs get ready before the show starts.â
_____________
âSince it is running a little late, we are going to have Yoongi perform his sonatas. In the meantime, as we wrap up, we will be doing the gift exchange. Hopefully, you all drew and made your customized Christmas cards because those are important.â Your father laughs into the microphone as the audience gape at his announcement. âYou all were given a number in the beginning, and you must find your missing match to exchange gifts and cards.â
âWhat number are you?â Tiffany asked, holding the number 57 in her right hand. In the background, you can hear Yoongi take a deep breath before starting, playing softly. âI hope it is not some loser like Jimin.â
âTiffany!â You scolded, holding back a laugh. âYou got to admit it that was funny,â Jin said causing Tiffany to nod her head in agreement. âI think Y/Nâs Dad made sure our gifts and cards were going to be exchanged for the kids.â
âWhere did you hear that?â Taehyung asked with a questionable look on his face, slightly raising one brow over the other. He looked down at his homemade card. It was a folded red paper with the front page having drawn an elf with green scribbly colored clothes with a text bubble with âHo Ho Ho.â Next to the elf, there was a poorly drawn old man which you assumed to be Santa, and the question, âWho are you calling a Ho?â is above Santaâs red cap in a blue text bubble.
âYou cannot give that to a kid.â You laughed and held up your simple white card to him that had a string of red and green Christmas ornaments with the text âLetâs hang at Christmas!âÂ
âI think it will be fine,â he stated with a small look of worry on his face. âI have the number 5.âÂ
âI have the number 7,â Jin and Hobi said simultaneously, then exchanging looks of excitement.Â
The two friends quickly exchanged boxes and cards, excited to see what had been inside the gift.
âTae!â Taehyungâs younger sister screamed across the room loudly, letting everyone know who she was looking for. âCan you and Unnie look at the family group chat?!â
Looking over your shoulder, you see Taehyung pulling out his phone from the right back pocket of his pants. He unlocked his phone, clicking on his latest text notification.
[mom]: text us your number
[dad]: 7
âOh you have the same number as my dad,â Tae mentioned to Tiffany. âTheyâre in the back somewhere.â
[brother]: 95
[sister]: 23
Your cousin texted your numbers to your family members. Right away, your aunt sent a reply.
[mom]: oh y/n, jimin has the same number as you! he just told us a couple of minutes ago that he was going to find you two!!
âThereâs no fucking way, right?â You werenât sure who Taehyung was asking. âDude, the world must be against you or something.â
Tiffany flicked Taeâs head, making him wince and look at Tiffany with a confused look. She gave him an angry death glare. With his voice shaking, he said, âYou know, Cousin, we can switch numbers.â
âLetâs be real, your mom probably somehow told him that me and him have the same number already.â You sighed. âThereâs no use.â
You forced a smile, walking away, wanting to find your father before you had to exchange gifts. With a quick glance at the ballroom, you couldnât find your father in the crowd of people up and rushing to others, trying to find their gifts. You get on the tip of your heels to get a better look, not wanting to go through the crowd and be accidentally pushed.
Across the room, Jimin was there, holding a white box in his hands, already staring at you with his dark brown eyes. Your heart dropped a bit, wondering how was it possible that the two of you would always find each other in a room full of strangers and chaotic noise.
The music stopped playing, and you could finally hear your cousin calling out your name.
âWait.â Tiffany abruptly said. You knew they were behind you, but you didnât dare look back. Without looking, you knew Tiffany was holding Taehyungâs wrist back, already seeing what was happening. âItâs the eye sex conversation talk again.â
Jimin took the first move, taking steps forward to go to you, not taking his eyes off yours. He was looking at you as if you were the only thing that mattered when the whole world was on fire. He was looking at you the way he always did, but more intensely.
When heâs finally in front of you, he released a sigh of relief, slightly giggling. âHey.â
âHey,â you whispered, not believing what was happening.
âI asked your father for his permission, and now I just really need yours.â He handed the box in front of you. âOpen it.â
Taking the lid off, there was a soft fleece blanket, a blanket patterned with the animals from the Lorax. You knew he was waiting for you to look back at him, but you stared down at the box. The words how, why, what, and oh wanted to come out, but no sound came out when you parted your lips.
âWhen I said âjust not like that,â it was first to Taehyungâs mom when we were watching the movie and you were sleeping underneath the blanket,â he explained. âI asked your father to get the same number as you, to show you that I donât want it to be like that. I want to be with you any day watching your momâs favorite movie under the soft blankets, reminding you that you arenât alone and that your mother isnât forgotten.â
You looked up back at him. Tears were forming in his alluring eyes. You hold back a smile, wanting to laugh at the irony. He was looking at you the same way you looked at him the day he decided not to study abroad.
âHurting you was the worst thing I did.â
You stood there frozen, wanting to say something, but you knew your words would come out incoherent, barely intelligible.
âYou donât have to say anything.â But Jimin read you like his favorite book, knowing every single line, reciting them out loud, letting the words live in his head rent-free. âI understand the trees.â He paused. âIf you had known it was going to be me, would you still have made that card so friend-zoney?â
And there, you wrapped your arms around him, knowing you would never lose him ever again.
Perhaps the heartbreak of losing your mom could not be healed with time, but with the love of your life.Â

âTook you guys long enough,â Taehyung said, opening the door to let you and Jimin enter their apartment. âYou guys have no idea how long weâve been waiting.âÂ
Before you could comment that they made it to the apartment twenty minutes after everyone else, you noticed all the guys and Tiffany gathered in the living room, sitting in a circle as if they were going to play duck duck goose. There were two visible pillows close to each other, probably for you and Jiminâs placement seats.Â
âWhat is this?â Jimin asked, lightly tossing his black suit jacket onto the couch. He then grabbed your coat from you, settling it down on top of his. âAre you guys starting a cult in here? Should I turn off the lights and get the candles?âÂ
Sitting down, you noticed Taehyung had disappeared from the room. âWhy did Tae just leave?â
âYouâll see,â Joon said. âEveryone has been waiting for this moment.âÂ
Taehyung came out of his room, holding a brown briefcase in one hand. He placed the briefcase in the middle of the circle. You and Jimin exchanged puzzling looks with each other, not understanding what was happening while everyone else was giggling in excitement to see the contents of the briefcase.
âCan you kill my curiousity and explain what is going on?â You asked.
âWe may or may not have been placing bets on when you two would finally realize you're madly in love with each other,â Tiffany mumbled under her breath, avoiding eye contact with you. âBecause EVERYONE knew you guys werenât just best friends.âÂ
Your cheeks were flushing with embarrassment as everyone else agreed with Tiffany with mischievous grins on their faces. âYou cannot be serious.âÂ
âDo you want to read the rules and agreement?â Taehyung asked, unfolding a piece of paper from his back pocket. He handed the piece of paper to you and Jimin to look at.
âYou carry that around with you everywhere you go?â Jimin asked, raising his eyebrow. "Just in that back pocket?"
âWell, where else am I going to put it?â
You wanted to shout that he didnât need to keep it on time at all, but you had already looked down at the paper, surprisingly impressed at how it was written as if it were a real binding contract. Reading out loud, you read,
Entry Fee: Each participant must contribute a nominal entry fee to join the betting pool. To participate, players must play a $50 fee. This fee serves as a token of commitment to the game. Selection of Dates: Participants must select a specific date or range of dates when they predict the best friends will transition from best friends to a romantic couple. The chosen dates must be recorded clearly to avoid any disputes later on. If the date (that a participant chose) has passed, yet nothing has happened, then this participant is able to place another prediction if they wager more money. For example, if Hobi put in âMarch of senior yearâ and the time has passed, then he will not win the money and will have to place a new bet if he wanted to participate again.Â
"Oh my god, how much money did you guys put in there?" Looking away from the paper, your jaw dropped to the floor, not believing what was happening. âPlease tell me you guys only placed one prediction.â
"Just keep reading, Cousin," Taehyung pleaded. "I need my money back as fast as I can."
The paper continued to read:
Betting Deadline: All entries must be submitted before a predetermined deadline, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to participate and make their predictions. The bet will end when they are a couple or if they marry other people. Judging Criteria: The transition from best friends to a romantic couple is defined by the moment when they publicly acknowledge their romantic feelings for each other or officially begin a romantic relationship. Although the two may do things more as best friends, they are not defined as a couple until it is officially told. Â Winner Determination and Prize Distribution: The participant who accurately predicts the closest date to their transition from best friends to a romantic couple is declared the winner. The total prize pool, comprising the accumulated entry fees, is awarded to the winner(s) following the official confirmation of their romantic relationship. Celebratory Gathering: Upon the successful resolution of the bet and the announcement of the winner(s), all participants gather for a celebratory gathering or party to commemorate the occasion and revel in the joy of the couple's newfound romance. This fosters a sense of camaraderie and solidarity among friends, regardless of the outcome of the bet.
"I mean, I guess before we open everyone's date, congratulations you guys!" The room was filled with laughter as Jungkook applauded. "It is a celebration, you know." He pointed behind him, gesturing to the assortment of snacks and drinks laid out on the table. All the snacks and drinks were all your favorite or Jimin's. âItâs not a celebration without food.â
"We also want to give a big shoutout right now to our sponser, Seung-hyun. He provided all the snacks, drinks and gave us all pints of ice cream.â
"You cannot be for real!" You exclaimed. "You told this bet to Seung-hyun?â
Jimin covered his face of embarrassment with both his hands.
Seung-hyun, the owner of your favorite ice cream shop back from home, had secretly been wanting you and Jimin to be official, and you couldnât believe it.
Everything seemed like a fever dream.
"Jimin, baby, of course I had to for our boy, Seung-hyun,â your cousin said. âHeâs been a fan since day one.â
Flipping to the back of the paper, there was everyoneâs bets. A lot of them crossed out. There were almost thirty entires, meaning that was almost $1500 in the briefcase.
taehyung: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 the year for real hobi: when jimin breaks up with yuna, when jimin breaks up with irene, when y/n breaks up with jae, when jimin finds out about jin and y/n, when jimin breaks up with jessica, when jimin confesses when y/nâs dad comes back in town after his breakup with jessica tiffany: spring break, summer break, drunk at a party before spring break second year joon: around christmas during university first year, around christmas during university second year, around christmas before everyone graduates from university seokjin: new years, valentineâs day where theyâre both single, white day, when jimin dumps girlfriend #5, graduation jungkook: when y/n travels abroad, when jimin travels abroad, during the time taehyung is abroad, new years yoongi: never
Hobi and Joon, realizing they won, both reached for the briefcase at the same time. âYou guys couldnât have waited for two more weeks or so,â Jungkook groaned.
And at that moment, with everyone you and Jimin both loved, all laughing and cheering, you knew that life with Jimin couldnât get any better than this.
Despite all the countless moments of missed opportunities and untold feelings all those years, the timing finally felt right for this exact moment. The power to heal the grief in your heart has finally let you see the chemistry and connection everyone else seemed to see.
The next chapter of your life is now going to be filled with shared dreams, laughter and a new kind of love with Jimin.

âââââ
Two Years AgoÂ
âââââ
Centuries ago the moon goddess stumbled across her human soulmate while he was sleeping. Struck by his beauty, but reluctant to reveal her identity, the goddess began to visit him in his dreams where she could hide her true form and appear before him as a mortal woman.Â
In the world of dreams their love flourished and from that blessed union the packs were bornâŚ
The wolf nations celebrated this sacred romance every ten years during the Festival of the Loverâs MoonâŚ
The day of the festival was spent eating and drinking and dancing at large parties, but when the sun went down⌠wellâ
Thatâs when things got really interesting.Â
On the night of Loverâs Moon the young unmated wolves of the pack were permitted to commemorate this legendary love story in a decidedly scandalous manner.Â
The unmated men assumed the role of the goddessâs sleeping loverâthey were blindfolded (to represent slumber) and led into a large sectioned off area of the dark forest to âwait and dream.â
Unmated she-wolves over the age of maturity (eighteen) took herbal scent suppressors and ventured out into that very same forest in order to anonymously âvisitâ the young men âin their dreamsââŚ
The rules for what exactly that meant were pretty fast and loose which was why Min Yoongi was thanking the goddess and every other deity he could think of that Yunli was still seventeen.Â
âBut I will be eighteen in two days! Please canât I justââ
âNo. Absolutely not under any circumstances ever.â
âBut Yoonji is going!â
âJi-ah is nearly nineteen and has never been interested in any of the snotty little man-pups of our pack.â He snorted. âSheâs probably going out just so she can shove a bunch of them in the lake.â
âI wouldnât count on it,â Yunli mumbled irritably.Â

Kim Taehyung yawned idly and snuggled into the cozy little pallet he prepared at the base of his favorite tree. The blindfold he and all the other unmated âloversâ wore was made from witchcloth and could not be removed while the sun was downâso he had snuck into the forest earlier to set everything up.Â
Now all he had to do was wait untilâ
âH-Hi Taehyung.â
Oh shâ
âUh. HelloâŚMiss.â
Taehyung didnât recognize the owner of that voice, but he knew for sure who it wasnât.Â
âI was hoping to find you tonight.â
This is not good.Â
âWell IâmâIâm flattered⌠naturally butââ
She touched his hand and he squeaked.Â
âI was thinking you and I might get to know each other a little betâeep!â
The sharp point of a custom blade pressed directly into the unfortunate young beta girlâs pulse point.Â
âAre you lost, puppy?â
A heavy cloak obscured the newcomerâs features, but there was no mistaking her meaning.Â
Taehyung bit his lip to keep from snorting as the poor she-wolf scrambled away.Â
âJi-ah,â he tsked with feigned disapproval, âthat wasnât very nice.â
Min Yoonji grinned as she sheathed her wicked looking dagger and slid languidly into his arms.Â
âYou donât like nice girls, Kim Taehyung.â
âI like you,â he whispered breathlessly against her lips. âNice or notâit doesnât matter to meâŚâ His hands slid greedily over her soft curvesâpulling her closer till he felt the beat of her heart against his own. âIâll like anything as long as itâs you.âÂ

This was the stupidest idea in the history of stupid ideas.Â
Jimin huffed as he struggled to find a comfortable position against the giant boulder heâd chosen as his perch.
Why did I let Taehyung talk me into this?
He could be at homeâin bedâcomfortably sleeping off the all-day feast heâd indulged in.Â
Instead he was out in the middle of the forest sitting blindfolded on a rock in the off chance that one of the she-wolves was out looking for him.Â
Not bloody likely.Â
Not when prime targets like Namjoon, Hoseok, Jungkookâand countless othersâwere scattered throughout the woods.Â
âPark Jimin?â

the dormâs heater was broken and unfortunately, winter was approaching and it was approaching fast. the days were darker and much, much colder. the boys seemed mostly unaffected by the lack of heat in the infamous bts dormitory. you on the other hand? not so much.
everyone was dressed in some type of hoodie or jacket and perhaps cuddled up next to some one to keep warm. you had slipped into your favorite sweater Jin owned, his famous pink hoodie.Â
the long, long on you at least, sweater had been just barely enough for the past half hour, but as the sun set and sunshine no longer shone through the blinds, shivers began to rack your body.Â
you closed your eyes and wrapped the blanket and sweater tighter around you. the living room was not silent, but it wasnât hella loud either.Â
you could hear Overwatch being played by Jungkook and Taehyung in the background along with their slight banter. you couldnât quite make out what they were saying, but you could hear Jimin, Hobi, and Namjoon whispering amongst themselves with Yoongiâs head on Hobiâs lap.
as you grew colder by the minute, you began to wonder where your boyfriend was at the moment.
you brought your head up, opened your eyes and looked around the room for Jin.Â
Jimin saw your furrowed brows and spoke up, âheâs in the kitchen, noona.â
âahh, thanks, Chim Chim.â he smiled and hummed in reply.
you wandered into the kitchen and found Jin sitting at the island scrolling through an article on his laptop.Â
you found your way over to him, wrapping your arms around his waist and burying your head in his upper back.
this is what you were talkin â about, he was so much warmer than the couch was.Â
âhey there,â he murmured, tilting his head back towards you, a small smile gracing his plump lips.
âhmm,â was the only reply you could muster, finally getting some heat that you had desired.
his warmth seeped through both his and your- actually his again- sweaters. you nuzzled your face deeper into his back, humming in content at his smell and comforting presence.
âyou cold, love?â he asked, feeling the chill of your hands through the soft material of his jumper.Â
âmhm.â
although you couldnât see it, he smiled, removing his hands from the granite countertop to take your hands into his own.
he unlocked your hands that had intertwined with themselves and tucked them into his connected front hoodie pocket.
Jin felt you smile against his back as you intertwined your hands with each other again.
he smiles to himself thinking about how cute you are when your cuddly and continued to scroll down the Buzzfeed article that was most likely about food.
Y o o n g IÂ

Yoongi had been working a lot more recently, composing new songs left and right. heâs been doing so amazing, along with the rest of BTS, with the recent comeback and the end of the Wings Tour.Â
listen, you didnât wanna sound clingy⌠but goddamn, you missed yo mans. and youâd be damned if you didnât at least try to gain his attention.
you crept into his room to see him at his computer, his black, noise canceling headphones on, light clicking noises and soft breaths being the only thing filling the quite room.
you felt bad that you were going to startle him in his peaceful, focused state⌠actually⌠no youâre not.
you wound your arms around his waist and nuzzled your head into the crook of his neck.Â
he jumped a little, shoving his headphones off and turning his head towards yours.
upon seeing your smiling features, he relaxed into your hold. removing his hands from the keypad and onto your hands that were still resting on his midsection.
âhey,â you mumbled into his neck.
âhey,â he murmured back, âyou need something baby?â
âyes.â
ââŚyou gonna tell me what that is, sweetheart?â
âcuddles⌠with you.â
âiâve gotta finish this tr-â
âmmmmm,â you hummed loudly over his response, the vibrations cursing through the sensitive skin of his neck, making his relax further into the leather chair and your embrace.
âŚ..
you eventually convinced him he needed a nap, which was not that hard, that boy was always down for a nap.
you sighed contently as he tightened his embrace around your waist and let out a hot puff of air onto the top of your head.
you smiled and giggled, snuggling further into his hoodie clad chest.
âwhatâs got you so giggly?â
âmy manâs paying me attention, whatâs there not to be happy about?â
he only hummed in response.
âhyung! Namjoon broke like three glasses when we were emptying the-ahhhh, my eyes! my innocent eyes!â Jungkook interrupted himself as he entered Yoongiâs room, immediately regretting it and slamming the door, running back into the kitchen.
you giggled again, and covered your mouth with one of your sweater paws in an attempt to stifle your laughter.
âI suppose you should go deal with that, babe,â you managed to get out around your giggles.
he only huffed as he unwillingly rose from his place, his has jutting out to tickle your side in an attempt to cease your teasing.
you watched him leave with a smile on your face, patiently awaiting his return.
H o s e o k

Hoseok had invited you out to dinner with the rest of the members. you had agreed vehemently, jumping at the chance to spend time with your adorable boyfriend.Â
getting out of the car, you laced your hand with Hobiâs, smiling up at him when he looked down at you.Â
entering the restaurant you felt a cold shiver wrack your body. you wrap your arms around the muscular arm that beheld the hand you were holding earlier and cuddle into his shoulder.
the eight of you were set at a table towards the back near a window, the lighting very dim and the moonlight cascading down through the window onto the glittering champagne glasses, creating a relaxing ambiance.Â
as everyone looks at the menu you subtly nuzzle your fave into the crook of Hobiâs neck.Â
he looks down at you, âare you okay, love?â
you nod against his neck, âitâs just cold in here.â
he chuckled at you and shrugs off his red jacket, âfor you mâladyâ
âaww, Hobi! thatâs so sweet, thank you,â you aww over his gentlemanly-ness and his good hearted nature.
âŚ
as dinner was served and the meal was in full swing, conversation flurrying around the table, you found yourself looking out the window.
you werenât antisocial, itâs not that you didnât like the other members - you loved them with all your heart - you were just⌠sleepy.Â
the weight of Hoseokâs jacket on your shoulders, the sent of him wafting off the jacket along with the aroma of the dinner laid on the table in front of you, and the warmth of Hobiâs hand on your thigh made you begin to feel sleepy.
when you were sleepy, you became needy. not sexual needy, but affection needy, and not only affection needy- but Hobiâs affection needy.
your hand slithers from its place on top of Hobiâs hand thatâs ontop of your thigh into the crook of his elbow and lift your head from the window onto his shoulder and sigh contently.
he gives you a side glance, then looks back up at Taehyung putting one finger up indicating to give him a second to speak to you.
âare you sleepy, jagiya?â
âmhm.â
âweâre almost done, sweetheart, then Iâm all yours,â he hums, kissing the top of your head.
âawww, hyung, your so good to her, where can I find a man like you?â Taehyung giggles, his boxy smile manifesting on his flawless face.
you smile sleeply and burry your face deeper into Hoseokâs shoulder.
âŚ
the two of you had eventually found your way into bed, his arms wound tightly around you and you head buried in his chest and your breaths slow and even, neither of you caring about all the commotion rumbling outside in the dormâs living room.
N A M J O O NÂ

Namjoon was driving the two of you back from the studio in your car. you had come to visit him and bring him some dinner and wait for him to finish up whatever he was doing at that moment.
you were pretty sleepy, the two of you hadnât gotten much sleep last night. heâd kept you up with multiple orgasms last night, hey - you werenât complaining! but despite your love for orgasms, and your dominant boyfriend, he wore you the fuck out.
Namjoonâs thumb began rubbing slow circles on your jean clad knee, his other hand staying at 12 oâclock on the steering wheel.
the combination of his slow circles and the soft music on the radio lulled you into a light sleep, your head rolling to lay on the car window.
âbaby, weâre home, itâs time to wake up,â Namjoonâs soft voice and light shake of your shoulder rose you from your peaceful slumber.
once you came to, you brought your loosely curled fists to your eyes and rubbed your eyes lightly. you opened you eyes to see Namjoon to your right, you door open and him crouching down to your level between the car and the car door.
âhey,â he whispered, wanting more than anything not to startle you in your adorable sleepy state.
âwassup,â you slurred back, your brain not yet functioning properly.
âletâs get you inside, yeah?â he murmured to you and he reached over your waking form to unbuckle your seatbelt.
you giggle as his hands brushed your side and his head rests on your breasts for a split second.
he managed to get past your grumbles of âi can do it myself, Joonieâ and helped you out of the car. as soon as your sneakers hit the pavement of the driveway and the car door was shut, Namjoon literally swept you off your feet and carried you bridal style into the dorms.Â
once you were safely in Namjoonâs room, after he had to endure the plethora of teasing from the other members.
 âAhhh hyung!!âÂ
âcute⌠I guessâ
âyou carry that princess, boi!â âyou do too much, Taeâ
Namjoon being the gentleman he was, he asked if it was okay to undress you and redress you for bed, you said âboy, you can do more than undress me tONIGHT, if you know what I mean!â then proceeded to plop down onto his bed and burry your head into the pillows.
he took that as a yes.
once he dressed you in a cozy hoodie of his- which was very hard by the way, you continually made grabby hands at him and latching onto his shirt, tugging at the material in an attempt to get him to lay on top of you and cuddle, he slipped into his basketball shorts and stole away into the covers with you.
he pulled you closer by your waist, your head immediately nuzzling into his neck, his sent filling your nose instantly, his almost, and I mean almost, unbearable warmth lulling your right back to sleep.

bts reaction to you having short hair
@legeusell asked âHi :) Can you write scenarios where bts has girlfriends with short hair? thanks đâ
a/n: bro this is so long overdue itâs embarrassing, so sorry about the astoundingly long wait on your request. also I used to have short hair back in the day for most all of my early childhood until late middle school, but that was a long ass time ago, so if some stuff in here sounds weird or not relatable, that is why and I'm sorry. hope everyone enjoys regardlessÂ
warnings: swearing, this is unedited so yikes donât kill me pls, also some how Jungkookâs got like super long so yikes, sorry about that

Jin loves your short hair so much. He thinks it is the best thing on planet earth.
His favorite thing is when you wake up and you have really bad bed head, he just points at your messy hair and laughs his ass off. Before he could say anything more, you make sure to turn the taunting right back at him, giggling at his own hair sticking up in a million different directions.
If your hair has a similar length to his, even if it isnât anything remotely like his, he will try his damndest to style it to look like his. Has he been successful? no. Does that stop him from trying again another day? no.
âJin, will you fucking stop? I would like to have hair when Iâm thirty thank you.â
âY/N, light of my life, the yin to my yang, I love you so much, but stop fucking moving. Donât you want to look like the pinnacle of beauty, the aphrodite of all the human race, the-â
âI never said that, I said that I want hair when Iâm thirty, but that seems unlikely due to the force you are pulling my hair at right now.â
âWell it sounds like your fault that you hair is no match for my sheer unbridled arm strength,â he replied, his hands leaving your hair to dramatically flex his muscles.

y o o n g i
This man would not care what length your hair was at, he is indifferent to things like that. Now that doesnât mean he thinks you look adorable with your short locks.
Yoongi will never admit this to anyone because he fears it will make him look soft. (Donât tell him, but everyone knows this man is soft all day everyday, but he refuses to accept his softness, so keep this on the down low).
His softness especially comes out when the two of you are laying on the couch late one night, just watching movies or dramas, and you drift off to sleep with your head in his lap. He makes sure youâre asleep and his hand creeps down to you short tuffs and lazy strokes his hand through you hair, lulling you further into sleep. Heâll smile down at your sleeping form and lightly scratch your scalp, his smile will only widen when you snuggle further into his lap.
Whenever you wear a cute headband or scarf or clip in your hair, he will just admire you and stare at you with the most loving gaze youâve ever seen.
You blush and look down at your feet, âwhat are you staring at, you wierdo.â
His smile widens, âjust the most beautiful woman Iâve ever seen.â

h o s e o k
He adores your short hair, he loves to play with it and he has no shame about it either, itâs like therapeutic to him.
If his day at the studio has been rough, whether itâs in the dance studio or inside Hope World, whenever heâs just feeling stressed, he looks forward to going home and relaxing with you. This relaxing involves the two of you laying in bed, your head on his chest and him stroking your hair, an activity that both calms and relaxes him immensely.
He also likes to tuck flowers behind you ear. This happens every time the two of you go out for a walk to get some fresh air. Every so often one of your dates on date night is to go for a long stroll in the park.
Hobi gets especially giddy for these walks in the sping time due to all the flowers blooming around you. He has such hard time deciphering which flower he wants to pick to place behind you ear. Does he want a flower to compliment your hair or your eyes? Does he want one that matches your outfit? The options are almost overwhelming. He just loves how cute you look with your hair tucked behind your ear and a flower placed along side it.

n a m j o o nÂ
Namjoon thinks your short hair is the coolest thing ever. He adores the way your short hair can make you look feminine but also, if styled correctly, make you look super punk rock.
He likes how your choice in having short hair not only makes you stand out but also challenges the status quo of long, feminine hair.
He loves when you style your locks to look fluffy and tousled, then pairing it with a cute sundress, making you look so pretty and soft. But then the next day you style your hair the exact same way, but this time youâre wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a band tee. He took one look at you and his knees went weak.
You know that phrase âthe duality of man,â well that was exactly what Joon was thinking when he saw you. One day you look fluffy and soft and the next you look like you could stick it to the man, all with the cutest hair style on planet earth, at least in Namjoonâs humble opinion, which is not biased at all, why would you even assume such a thing.

j i m i nÂ
Jimin loves your short hair so much. He thinks it is the cutest thing ever. If you dye your hair a lot, he will one hundred percent beg you to dye your hair whatever color his hair was supporting. The idea of the two of you having matching hair sent him into a flurry of softness. Matching hair with the cutest girl in the world? yes please.
âJagi, what color are you gonna dye your hair?â Jimin wonders as the both of you stroll though the hair dye aisles of the beauty supply store.
âHmm, Iâm not sure yet, I was thinking maybe blue or purple,â you respond. There were so many options, it was almost overwhelming. You were tired of your blue hair. Earlier in the year you had dyed it a dark blue, then a few months later you chopped off you hair to (your current hair style). Now itâs faded to a light blue and you were ready for a change of pase.
âHave you ever considered silver?â He pondered, placing and innocent facade on and looking at you with big doe eyes.
You smile and look over at your boyfriend, âbut thatâs your hair color.â
âOh is it? I must have forgotten,â he smiles mischievously at you. âNow that you mention it, it would be pretty cute if you matched with me.â
You thought about it for a little bit, to hell to it, why not? Itâs just hair, if you didnât like it, you could grow it out and chop it off in a few months, or dye it another color.
âYou know what? Fuck it, lets match.â
âHell yeah! Oh Iâm so excited, weâre gonna be so cute, baby!â He giggles, almost vibrating with excitement.

t a e h y u n gÂ
Taehyung loves you. He loves your cute short hair. He loves fashion.
Put all of these things together and you get playing dress up with Taehyung. He loved to pick out your outfits for you and styling your hair to compliment the outfit.
âTae, youâve already made me try on three outfits, canât we do something else now?â
âJust one more, baby, please?â he pleaded, his big hopeful eyes contrasting the deep baritone of his voice.
You sigh in response and he takes it as a sign of reluctant compliance. You hear him rummaging around in the closet for a few moments before he emerges with a smile on his handsome face with the clothes heâs picked out hidden behind his back.
âGo change in the bathroom, I want there to be a big reveal for this one. I think this one is the best one yet.â He quickly shoves the clothes into your arms before spinning you around and walking you towards the bathroom so you could change.
The outfit heâs picked out for your is a dark red, almost maroon, turtleneck and tight black dress pants with vertical, thin white stripes on them. The turtleneck comes as no surprise, he loves the way your hair frames your face and you have to admit, this outfit looks stunning on you.
Once you emerge from the bathroom, Taehyung looks up from his phone where he is sat on the edge of the bed.
A boxy smile appears on his face as he speaks, âyou look fucking stunning, my love.â

You had been contemplating cutting you hair for a while now, you just couldnât decide how much you wanted to cut off nor could you decide on a style. You were also worried that you would regret cutting it off.
Last week you decided you would chop a good chunk of it off at cut it to about (hair length). And today was your appointment. Today was also the day that Jungkook would be coming home from btsâ world tour, he would be arriving later tonight.
Your nerves were heightened as you sat in the salon chair. Once the stylist was finished, she spun the chair around so you could face the mirror. You gasped as you saw your new hair in the mirror, you absolutely loved it! It suited you so well, you knew Jungkook was gonna flip.

Later that night you were in the kitchen cleaning up some old dishes while you waited for Jungkook to come home.
You heard the sound of the front door swing open and immediately after Jungkook calls out in a sing-song voice, âHoney. Iâm home!â
You turn away from the sink just in time to see him rushing into the kitchen before abruptly stopping several feet away from you. His mouth was agape slightly as he took in your new hairdo.
You blushed and looked away from his intense stare mutter out, âsay something, please.â
His mouth closes quickly and he straightens up and rushes over to you cupping your face in his hands and tilting your head so the two of you made eye contact, a huge smile on his face. âYou look so cute, baby girl! I love this new hair, youâre glowing! I thought you couldnât get any more beautiful, but look at you now!â
As his little fangirl moment comes to an end, he wraps you up in a suffocating hug. You smile and giggle and you snuggle closer to his chest.
BTS as Greek Deities

@forksofwisdomâ âs own Twilight Characters Cast as Greek Deities - pictures + explanations gave me the idea for this one. As she wrote, I am only doing personalities on this one.

I had trouble with most of them, as they have vast personalities, however, Namjoon fit more into the Zeus/Athena archetype, so I chose Zeus instead. He was able to outsmart his own father in order to get his siblings out of his stomach so they can win the war against the Titans. And just like Zeus, Namjoon is a natural-born leader, with (what the members told us in older interviews) a taste for. . . sexual things.Â

With Jin, I was having trouble between Hestia and Hera but chose Hestia as his character. Hestia was the goddess of the hearth and family, while Hera was the goddess of marriage. Seokjin is declared as the âmotherâ of BTS by Armys alike, so, instead of making him the goddess of marriage, I made him the goddess of family.

Yoongi was the one I had the most trouble with. He has such a unique personality that is sometimes hard to capture into words. So, I based his off things the members said. They have said that he is the one to fix the things Namjoon breaks, and it fits perfectly into Hephaestus, the god of blacksmiths. However, Yoongi does not have Hephaestusâ deformed outer appearance mentioned in the myths.

All of the members have a touch of Apollo in them, but Hoseok embodies the sun the most. Apollo is depicted as an almost happy-go-lucky person in pop culture (looking at you, Rick Riordan), which fits into Hoseokâs personality. Have you seen the English translated versions of his songs? Poetry.

Jimin, on stage, has an almost sexual appearance, depending on the outfit he wears. Eros is also the god of love, and Jimin has a lot of love to give around. I mean this boy always wants a hug from his friends. (Have you seen the video of him running up to Namjoon, arms raised, going âNamjoon!â Heâs Namjoonâs baby).Â

Taehyung is beauty, he is (somewhat) grace, he is the nationâs baby boy. He wears Gucci, he is said to be the babiest baby of the group, and he can still switch it up, going from tiny baby⢠to Dom⢠onstage in almost a second. This boy is nothing but beauty, and you canât tell me otherwise.Â

Jungkook is the Energizer bunny on CRACK and you canât tell me otherwise, okay? This boy loves to workout from what we can tell, and even Yoongi declined to arm wrestle him. Jungkook is the embodiment of Hermes, who was told he should be the messenger of the gods because he ran the fastest. Not only is Hermes the messenger of the gods, but he is also the god of trickery and sports, two of which are Jungkookâs favorite things (most of the time he watches as tricks happen, and sometimes he doesnât know the trick is on him).
