Imagine If A Bunch Of People Started Claiming To Be "endogenic Borderlines" Or "nondisordered Borderlines"

imagine if a bunch of people started claiming to be "endogenic borderlines" or "nondisordered borderlines"

and then when people with BPD started correcting them and saying "hey, BPD is a very serious mental illness and under the TOSD it's impossible to develop it without trauma" they just responded with "we never claimed to have BPD, we're borderlines without BPD"

that's how you sound calling yourselves endogenic / nondisordered systems

Definition of Dissociation

“Definition of Dissociation” taken entirely from https://www.firstpersonplural.org.uk/dissociation/definition/

“The first thing you should know about dissociation is it is instinctive, natural, essentially adaptive & universal to all humans.  However, although everyone can and does dissociate, as with all natural abilities, some people dissociate more easily than others. Children are generally more adept at dissociation than adults, but for adults who had to dissociate very frequently during childhood, dissociation can become their default coping mechanism when under stress and this can become problematic.

Dissociation enables one or more of the many different aspects of an experience to be stored in your brain separately, kept separate and possibly very fragmented. The different aspects of any experience may include thoughts, sensations, feelings, perceptions, sense of body, sense of self, behaviours and memories etc.  Dissociation minimises awareness of the effects of an experience in its entirety.  In doing so it supports focus on the stimuli and tasks necessary to safely complete, survive or manage the experience in a way that minimises immediate harm; or enables physical escape, if escape is possible.

We’ve always had an issue with people establishing emotions about some of our fictives before even knowing them just based on their source so

Yeah. Well enough said

quick liddol psa on interacting with fictives

treat fictives like people please i am begging you

do not tell them that you simp for them or that you dislike them simply based on their source

do not ask them questions about their source unless they say it’s okay (especially about their relationships with other characters)

ask before discussing their source with them

don’t push your headcanons onto them, or insist that what they experienced was’t real because it didn’t happen in canon

i know it’s exciting that your comfort character is kind of real. i know you want to tell us how much you like/hate us. but please just use basic manners. it is not that hard.

[for those who don’t know- fictives are alters that are based on fictional characters. this doesn’t mean that they act like the canon character.]
