I think I love spellcaster characters that crave knowledge so much in games because their chosen from of knowledge is also just super creative and artistic. Like yes girl you go chase your artist dreams you clever little child prodigy. Unfortunately I also enjoy the tragedy of being consumed by what you chase after most so uh, no wholesome healing rp for me no sir.

The parallel between " it starts with sorry" and "loser, baby" are sending me.

In the context of the recipients or intended audience of the songs, the former shows how Sir Pentious is just kind of a bitch, and does things for his own gain without regard for others in order to gain power (his poor face when Vox didn't approve of him :( ). The later is of course bringing attention to that, while yes Angel is in an unbelievably shit position, he makes it worse with his self loathing and poor coping mechanisms, it's even suggested that he stops seeing himself as a person outside of Valentino. Therefore "loser, baby" is more focused on Angel as an individual rather than the people around him.

Then, when thinking about the people who actually lead the song, Charlie tries to be selfless to a fault so obviously her trying to cheer up snakey boy is going to be through having him be better to others, but it also shows how her ideas of redemption still come from a place of misunderstanding, not really taking in the depth of him as a person and instead singing about what he can DO rather than helping him THINK better. On the opposite side Husk speaks from a place of experience (vastly different experience, but still able to better empathise) and not only comprehends but deeply understands the fact that Angel needs to be better in himself before he can be better in the eyes of others. Despite the fact that it probably wasn't his aim, Husk has probably set up Angel for a better shot at actual redemption through understanding. Husk also does not sugar coat anything, at all. He knows that it's better to be straight up about things because having to act ALL THE TIME is the problem for Angel. Its very difficult for Charlie to get her optimism across to Angel because delusion only lasts for so long. Pentious is more gullible and hasn't signed his soul away ( to my knowledge) and so is able to look on the bright side and respond to overly positive actions. Husk has the capability to help Angel, not by saying "things arnet really that shit, it will be better" but instead says that "yeah this sucks but it'll help if you just accept what you cant change and take what you can. You can't accept joy if you only self-pity/ drown in drugs and fakeness".

"It starts with sorry" was kind of cringe to me too but honestly? It fits, and that's what matters.

Sidenote: I'd love to discuss/ be tagged in other analysis, including anything critical. But I'm not looking for a fight and I'm not getting into anything with anybody who take the songs out of context. (AKA : "Husk is calling Angel a loser because he got SA'd and thinks he should just get over it/ deserved it" Husk is not that kinda guy)

As much as I appreciate the "Adam is a demon now" and will almost certainly be reading fic about it, I really hope they don't add it into the show.

He was the season 1 villain, the miniboss, an introduction into what they are up against.

I feel like as they show progresses they should dive into a more serious tone, especially with the antagonists. This is why I think Lute is such a good choice because she's a motivated, serious antagonist that still fits in a comedy show.

Adam's time is over. Adding him back as an antagonist would take time away from the new main ones and while giving him a redemption arc, while VERY cool for fanfics and "Charlie redeems the first man/ fixes original sin" is great, it wouldn't fit in well with where he was at when he died. There was still no respect for Charlie, the hotel or redemption at all, he was a whiny, pathetic asshole and while that made him funny, it doesn't make for a good focal point to bring back after being put to rest.

No hate to anyone who likes this theory, I do too! But I think bringing Adam back as a minor plot point would undermine his actions in season 1 and bringing him back as a major plot point just isn't sensible when there are SO MANY other dominos left to fall.

One thing I need to know to properly put things together in my head is what is the actual in cannon timeline of the finale?

Like yes we see Pentious get redeemed AFTER everything else but surely his soul wasn't in some kind of purgatory for the whole time they were building the hotel. Or was it?

So, I think i can narrow it down to a few choices.

Pentious did wait in some kind of stasis and the timeline is as shown on screen.

Pentious was redeemed after the battle but before/ during the rebuild. Sera and Emily can then either view or not view the hotel. If they do see it, then they clearly see by the putting up of the portrait that Charlie thinks he's dead not redeemed which (may) lead to less confusion later on.

Pentious was redeemed straight after. Sera and Emily, if they choose to then view hell would have seen Adam get fucked (up) by Lucifer then get killed by Niffty.

I think if it were the last one it wouldn't make sense for them to watch Adams death and do nothing, but they could just be that scared of Lucifer/ don't have the power to open portals on a whim. In this case it's also possible that they end up with mixed feelings because Lucifer (though spiteful) does spare him. Nifty would probably shock them both.

Its VERY possible that it's one of the later options because it was only that order in the show for dramatic effect. There are of course probably other things I havent thought of. (In that case I'm begging you explain I crave the contents of your mind)

Also rb for bigger sample size if you're as intrigued about this as I am. It sounds small but could have large consequences about the opinions of Sera and Emily about the hotel gang.

For that "Lute Captured" idea of mine one of the ideas I have for it is Lute taking up Sir Pentious' torch as the magnet for slapstick. The basic thought is smashing her dignity to pieces and destroying any and all fear the Hotel crew, and perhaps Hell at large, has for her.

Stunning, beautiful yes.

Take somebody proud and knock them to the godamn floor. Maybe without that stick up her ass she won't be so cruel lol.

Also kinda fits in with the "assigned roles" of heaven. She could be completely useless with non-combat related tasks which is obviously a great means of taking the piss.

Have the gal try to fight a toaster when it burns her toast or something idk.

Removing her as a villain through humiliation deffinetly opens up more for other villains to come in, but if she's captured, who told lillith about Adam?
