Ublaz Mad Eyes

Emperor Ublaz is the first character I’ve drawn that’s from a book I haven’t read yet! (Pearls of Lutra) I read up on him like the others, and fell upon the description that he was “tall, handsome, and polite, as well as very cunning.” I decided against doing the usual ‘evil look’ for a villain sketch, and instead draw him in a more charismatic, and disarmingly friendly way. I improvised on his clothing a bit too, since it seemed to vary a lot. This is my favorite sketch of the series so far!

Me reading High Rulain for the first time: Wow! There sure are a lot of parallels to Mossflower! I wonder if, like Gingivere, Jeefa will be the moral better compared to his brother Pitru. Can't wait to see how his character develops!

High Rulain at the end of Chapter Eight:

Martin: Ready to do something that probably won’t work? Gonff: Always.

Tam: Someone said something that almost triggered my fight or fight response. Armel: You mean fight or flight response? Tam: No? I'm not a bird, Armel.

I’m sorry every time I finish Mattimeo and Basil adopts Cheek, it slaughters me.

It’s just Cheek never had a family and Basil didn’t really either and then he adopts in and Cheek names himself Cheek Stag Otter and it’s so cute it’s literally killing me

Purely self indulgent character design for Marlfoxes (from Brian Jacques' Redwall novels)..... They're described as 'mottled' and I've never seen anyone show that!
