I haven’t seen the Loki finale yet and I have a feeling it’s going to be like spn 15x18. I can’t emotionally handle going through that again so I hope I’m wrong

I was thinking of how S3 gave Pierce such a crap storyline and ways that it could’ve gone if he was given a different storyline. I think I may have come up with one that makes me wish the writers came up with and used. So here it is:

As Lucifer is helping Pierce cure him of his immortality, the two come close and Pierce drops the question “why are you so against me giving up my immortality but still willing to help?”

And Lucifer responds with something along the lines of “how could you not want to keep it?There’s so much yet to discover, along with all the fun to be had.” So that becomes the underlining theme of the rest of the season. Pierce trying to understand where Lucifer comes from and vise versa.

Ultimately when it comes down to it and they come up with a way to get rid of Pierces immortality, it backfires and Lucifer loses his instead. And when the end of the season comes, and something life threatening happens to Lucifer, Pierce feels responsible for it and Lucifer finally understands why Pierce wanted to get rid of it. He finds peace in sacrificing himself for those he cares about, Pierce included. Pierce not wanting this to be how the man that has become his best friend dies, so he finds a way to give his immortality up, to help heal Lucifer. So now both mortal, injured, and exhausted both physically and emotionally, they have come to understand each other’s perspective.
