malevolent/bbc merlin crossover that no one asked for or cares about....bc they're in medieval times and there's magic and myths

idk how they'd stumble across each other--probably in the woods or maybe arthur and the round table are also searching for this mysterious cult and/or the black stone?

where merlin yells 'arthur!' and two heads turn and its all very confusing and amusing

where merlin can sense almost immediately that there's something up with arthur, can see some kind of aura around him and his general demeanor is troublesome--the scars, the haggard look on his face, the way his eyes were never quite focused, the way he mumbled to himself. he seems nice and they all seem to have the same goal but merlin has been trained to be suspicious and this new arthur is sus.

maybe he can even hear John speaking, but can tell no one else does so he keeps this piece of information to himself for a while.

and maybe arthur is just a little bit awed to discover he's not only dealing with a king but king arthur....potentially THE king arthur (but perhaps he doesn't put the pieces together until he learns merlin's name. then he's a bit taken aback and asks for the name of the kingdom...and bemused, the king replies, Camelot.
