Ahh, Pidgey. The pokémon that made me and all my friends think there was a D in 'pigeon'.

We had the cute and majestic bird pokémon, now it’s time for the vicious and scary bird pokémon! Fearow always made me think of a really ugly, angry swan. What a great pokémon.

A few more plant fairies, this time stinging nettles and some unidentified thistle-like thing. Did you know eating stinging nettles can help treat eczema? (I fully expected it to be an old wives tale, but like many old wives tales it actually worked.) Among many large projects I’d like to do someday is a fairy herbal. Something in the manner of the Flower Fairies books by Cicely Mary Barker, which were primarily fantasy books but were also scrupulously botanically accurate (I’ve used them to identify flowers before), but focussing on plants with culinary or medicinal uses.

These are the first version-exclusive pokémon so far! I liked Arbok as a child, but I didn’t have one because Ekans and Arbok only appear in Pokémon Red. I think I was just too lazy to get my friend who had Red to trade with me. You had to get a link cable and walk all the way round the corner to her house, much too much work!

Some Nettle and Spider sketches that turned out quite well. I was going to crop out the notes on the side, but then I thought someone might be interested, so here we are.
