Two more dream sketches which I thought were scary enough to go in the monster set. These two were from the same dream. The ‘baby’ was found wrapped in newspaper, and you had to stay out of the searchlights. (previous 6 monsters)

Inktober 2018 : Day 5 - cartridge pen

Lena’s prophetic trances are involuntary, and come on without warning. Her friends have seen it before, but it doesn’t stop being frightening.

Inktober 2018 : Day 7 - ink and water Spider is a powerful telepath, but his telekinesis is weak and he’d like to develop it, so he spends a lot of time trying to bend spoons. Sometimes he can do it and sometimes he can’t. I didn’t draw him in his usual woolly jumper because I had a sudden desire to show you all that he’s kind of hairy.

Have some crows! The one on the left was part of a birthday card, the one on the right was... well I traced the left hand one and that was what it wanted to be I suppose. It’s watching us all.

It’s been a while since I used my dip pen, I’m always afraid I’ll forget how to use it! I’m happy with how this turned out though. This is the Shaggy Ink-Cap, an edible mushroom native the UK (pick the baby ones if you want to eat them though). They sometimes dye your food black, and you can make ink out of them if you want to. We used to have a patch of these in our driveway but there were never enough to eat, which is a shame because they’re delicious.

I scream, you scream, we all scream when we observe an injury to or deformity of the eye. I’m shortsighted but never wear my glasses, and also suffer with dry eyes, so my eyes feel weird a lot of the time. I like trying to express how things feel visually, so that’s probably where these come from.
