While I Know And Understand That Not All Forms Of Art Are The Same, There Is Something That Compels Me

While I know and understand that not all forms of art are the same, there is something that compels me to say that they are representation of the same thing. the ostentatious dresses on runways , the grey scale photograph on the wall, the paint covering the canvas, feet flowing to the beat that has its own soul, all of these and many more are the proofs of the mythical, of fantasy seeping into reality and making the ordinary special.

art is ,as much magic as humans will ever be able to witness;it is the blurred line between the Seen and the Unseen and the wisps of light that make up a galaxy. 

10 p.m. thoughts on music

‘Music is the strongest form of magic’- wiser words have never been spoken. Songs and melodies are something we come across regularly in our daily lives- in the car, on the internet and many more- but, in these fleeting moments of contacts, we are not able to understand the significance they carry; a single song can be the cure of a deep rooted sickness, just a few words and a handful notes can turn our day around, even the dullest of tasks can be brightened up by humming a song. With headphones covering our ears the world vanishes and peace envelopes us, albeit for a few precious moments. Whether it is the pulsing beats by Vishal-Shekhar or the hypnotizing Bohemian Rhapsody, music transcends languages, races, countries, even beliefs. It gives freedom to explore, to break the barriers laid down by society, and jump from one predefined genre to another, to enunciate and to let your feelings take form.

At its core, music is human expression in its most primal embodiment, born of screaming, evolving into majors and minors and poetry. It is art, capturing the universe in a way neither pen or paint can. What cannot be put into words, or explained by language, is easily conveyed through symphonies.  One doesn’t need to know the lyrics to understand a song (as Gangnam Style beautifully displayed) ,and that kind of open mindedness, that acceptance, might just be what the world needs most at the moment. It is true, what Plato said- “Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.”

Tokyo Nights -- Digital Farm Animals

This song was actually recommended to me by one of my cousins. He is two years older than me and this happened during the time we had just gotten to that certain phase where we were both looking for new music. Many of my current favorites are his recommendations. This song brings to mind neon lights, bright pink and green and red; high rise buildings, on which windows shine in shades of yellow and white; a crowded street, where people, wrapped up in coats and scarves make their way home, hurrying to escape from the cold; and beholding all that two runaways in their car, a convertible which belongs to the boy. Both of them fascinated and enraptured by the bustling city, where the air practically shimmers with vitality, hazy orbs of light make up the vision; smoke curling up from cigarettes and the oddly beautiful color of broken bottles. This song makes me feel free, as if I have left the same routine life in the suburbs and have stumbled upon this uncertain, yet thrilling adventure in a far-off metropolitan.

I just love battle couples.

Always trusting your partner, standing back to back.

Shouting back and forth about random things.

Then the battle ends and somewhere you lost your partner and you’re partner and you’re running around until eventually you give up and are sitting there,crying, when they tap you on the shoulder and

you have a very passionate kiss.
