Twins
Twins
Harper was furious. How dare they hurt his sister? She did nothing to them.
This is an AU of Player's kids in the future.
All characters belong to the creator of Carmen Sandiego except for the twins and their mother. I don't own any of them.

Harper was furious. How dare they hurt his sister? She did nothing to them.
They were evil. Tiny demons, if you will. Although, not as evil as some of the people their aunt Carmen had to deal with.
Harper sat at his desk, looking at the red colouring pencil in his hand. When was the last time they saw her? It must have been at least a good few months.
He tapped his pencil against the desk, shaking with rage. The page in front of him empty, a blank space, mocking him.
They had been given an assignment, to draw someone that inspires them. The only problem was, he had a few people that inspired him and he couldn't choose which one of them he should do. His father, his mother, his sister or, his aunt Carmen. They all inspired him, so who to choose?
He didn't know what his father did exactly, nor did he his aunt, but all he knew was that his dad was amazing with technology and that he helped his aunt to change the world. One step at a time.
His mother was a writer, an author, and she created amazing stories for children and adults alike. All it took was a spark of imagination and the story flowed out like a dam breaking.
His sister, his dear sister, who had been put through hell and back because some arrogant people can't accept change. She meant the world to him, and he'd go to the ends of the Earth to protect her from any evil that came their way.
The teacher walked around the room, inspecting every child's drawing, as if he was expecting some Picasso level painting, because each time he laid eyes on one of the children's drawings, his eyebrows fell down into a crease, scowling at the child's drawing, almost disappointedly.
The teacher wasn't really a work of art himself however, and neither were any of his many 'paintings' that were hung up on the walls, each in a wooden frame.
The man had gelled black hair, although it looked more like he'd been whacked across the head by an octopus, with the amount of gel that was in his hair. He had dark blue eyes, that look more grey than blue at most times, and big, dumbo like ears. His face was covered in wrinkles, a sign that the man was indeed old. What was he now? Late fifties? Maybe sixties? Possibly seventies? And yet, here he was, still teaching a bunch of six year olds basic maths and showing them how to draw what most of them already can, stick figures. Honestly what was he expecting from them when he asked them to draw someone who inspires them? Hyper detailed realistically accurate coloured version of the person? Come on.
He wore a two piece suit, both pieces black, and brown, freshly polished dress shoes. He also had a black handle bar moustache. He looked like he had been plucked out of one of those old films he had seen his parents watching, from the nineteen-thirties perhaps. Seriously, this was a school, not some grand ball thrown by the Queen of England, or another important figure of society. There really was no need to be dressed so formally.
Harper made eye contact with his sister and she smiled and waved at him. He grinned. It was nice to see her so happy. Suddenly, he heard someone clearing their throat, and he froze. Rosy's eyes widened as well, and she mouthed an apology at the fact that she had distracted him.
"Mr Bouchard, care to explain to me as to why, we are half way through our lesson, and yet your paper is still blank?" He heard the voice behind him ask. He winced, he really couldn't have drawn a line or something to make it seem like he'd done some work?
"I'm sorry Mr Williams but I've got lots of people that inspire me and I can't pick one." He replied, turning to face his teacher, eyes darting around the classroom, looking for a way to escape the patronising gaze of the man before him.
"If I do not see anything on this page," he pushed his finger down onto the page, crinkling it slightly. Even the way he talks is posh, "by the end of this lesson, then I will have to call your parents in. This is the fourth time you have not done work because you 'could not decide on someone'. It is really getting old and I am getting tired of your excuses Mr Bouchard."
Harper's eyes widened. They couldn't call his parents! They were already busy enough, and troubling them and causing them more problems over something as stupid as not doing a drawing was ridiculous.
"I'll have something down by the end of the lesson Mr Williams." He said, finally making eye contact.
"You better had. You do not want me to call your parents in because of something this simple, do you?"
Harper shook his head.
"No Mr Williams"
"Good. Get to it then."
He didn't have anything down. So, here he was sitting in the headmasters office, waiting for his parent to arrive.
Mr Williams was stood next to the headmasters desk, arms crossed. He didn't look very happy. Sat next to him was the headmaster. Harper was looking down, embarrassed, hoping this will be over soon.
"Mr Bouchard, I thought you had said you would have something down by the end of the lesson." Mr Williams remarked.
Harper looked up.
"I know. I'm sorry. I couldn't-"
"Decide on who to draw. You keep saying that, and look where it has gotten you."
"Now now, he feels bad as it is Mr Williams, you don't need to make him feel worse." The headmaster told him.
"I was gonna say I couldn't think of where to start." Harper mumbled.
"What was that young man?"
"Nothing sir."
The headmaster was a chubby man about the age of 40, and yet he was growing grey hair on the sides of his head and balding on top. The man wore a pink striped shirt, with blue suspenders over the top. Harper couldn't see the bottom half because of the oak desk between them.
Bookshelves scattered the walls on either side of him, most mainly empty, with a few bits and bobs here and there, and some filled with books.
There was a knock on the door, snapping Harper out of his train of thought.
"Come in" the headmaster shouted.
The door opened. There were his parents. He made eye contact with his father and looked away immediately, ashamed.
"We came as soon as we could. What's going on?" He heard his mother ask.
"Mr and Mrs Bouchard, please, take a seat." The headmaster asked, or demanded.
His parents both looked at each other worriedly, and then proceeded to sit in the other two chairs there.
"What's all of this about?" His father questioned.
"Nothing too big, so there's no need to worry, Mr Bouchard. It's just about Harpers schoolwork." He reassured his parents.
"What about it?" His mother chimed in.
"It has recently come to my attention by Mr Williams here," the man in question raised his hand, "that Harper has not been doing his schoolwork and has been making stupid excuses as to why." The headmaster remarked.
"Is this true Harper?" His mother asked.
"Only my art work, mum. I do everything else! Plus, it's only happened four times, like, once a month or something like that!" Harper replied.
"Wait wait wait," his father waved his hands up and down, "you mean to tell us that you called us," he moved his hands to refer to himself and his wife, "to the school just because our son hasn't done what, four pieces of work? There gotta be a lot of other kids that don't do it either. I mean, they're six for crying out loud!"
"Parker." His mother warned, her voice low. She put her hand on her husbands shoulder gently and smiled at him lovingly, in order to calm him down, so there isn't a scene caused.
The man's eyes widened. She never called him by his real name. It was always by his code name, Player. She really didn't want to make a scene.
"Yes. Other kids haven't done work as well and we'll be calling there parents in as well but Harper resists against his teacher so we've had to call you in first." the bald man told them.
"This is ridiculous" Player mumbled. His wife elbowed him, and gave him a glare. He rolled his eyes.
"How does he resist?" The woman asked.
"Uhh Mr Williams? How does Harper resist exactly?" The headmaster looked to the man.
"Umm... well... he gives me a lot of lip and doesn't participate in physical activities when I tell him to." Came his reply.
"There's a perfectly good explanation for that Mr Williams" the dark haired female said.
"And what is that explanation, Mrs Bouchard?" He said, looking down his nose at her. Judging by the stories he'd overheard from the twins on the playground, they were both reckless, adventurous and clever people. It was obvious that he didn't particularly like Harper, and because the two young adults in front of him were his parents, he didn't particularly like them either. They raised their child wrong. They should raise them to treat their seniors and their superiors with the respect they deserve. Harper and Rosy had none for him.
"Harper has been advised by his doctor to take it easy if he's hurting" the woman crossed her arms.
"If he's hurting? That's got to be the stupidest reason for a kid taking a break or not participating in activities. What is he? An old man like me? Because if I'm not allowed to get out of doing it with the students, neither should he." The man laughed and wiped a tear that came to his eye.
"Mr Williams! The doctor informed me of this and I have told you this as well. It seems you've forgotten though." The headmaster scolded.
"Forgotten what? That he" the man pointed at Harper. He looked down embarrassed. "shouldn't be doing Physical Education because he's 'hurting'?"
"No I informed you on why his legs hurt."
"And why is that?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Because he's an amputee." Player said to him. "He wears prosthetics. He's been to school with crutches before and a wheelchair. The reason he was told not to all the time is because he experiences phantom pain. Is that all you need us for, to mock our son for his disability and waste mine and my wife's time?"
"Even so, he still gives me lip when I tell him to stop making symbols with his hands to Rosy." Mr Williams was flustered at getting called out. Oh how he hated this family. He just wanted one reason to get one of the children in trouble.
"You mean when he's signing what you're saying so she can understand?" The woman asked.
"Signed? As in sign language?"
"Yes. Rosy's deaf and although she has hearing aids, she still needs a little help to understand because they don't magically make her able to hear." Player glared at the man. "Is that all?" He looked back to the headmaster.
"Is that all Mr Williams?" The older man asked.
"Yes" He grumbled.
"You may all leave now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I thought we had a different issue at hand." He told the family.
"Thank you" both of the parents said. They rose from the seats, and Harper followed and left the office.
"Unbelievable" Player mumbled, shaking his head.
"Did I do something wrong?" Harper asked, looking up at his father.
"No Harper you did nothing wrong. Your teacher just forgot about you and your sisters disabilities, that's all." He patted his son on his brown hair. Harper grinned at him and he smiled back.
They walked to the inside entrance of the school where Rosy was sitting on one of the blue chairs, swinging her legs. When she noticed the door open she looked up and smiled.
"Is everything ok? Did Harper get in trouble?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.
"No sweetie, he didn't." Her mother replied.
"Are we going home now?"
"Yes we are."
She walked to the door and opened it, signalling for them to go before her.
As the twins were walking in front of them and talking amongst themselves happily, Player decided to make conversation with his wife beside him, who was holding his hand.
"It's a good thing Red didn't want to do a caper today huh?" He laughed. She smiled.
"Yeah, lucky us. Otherwise I'd be stuck dealing with that man on my own." She chuckled.
"I would've come as fast as I could if I had to help Red, but I'm assuming you already knew that, didn't you Iris?"
"Yep. You'd do anything for the twins." He glared at her.
"And you."
"Oh you can spare some love for me now too?" She put her hand on her chest. "I'm honoured." She teased.
"No I don't think I will anymore, you've taken it for granted too many times." He looked away, feigning offence. When he looked at Iris however, he couldn't keep it up and they both burst into laughter.
The twins looked behind them to see their parents giggling to themselves.
"What are they laughing at?" Rosy asked, turning to her brother.
"I have no idea. It could be anything really." He said.
"Yeah you're right."
The next day at school when Harper walked into the classroom he made immediate eye contact with Mr Williams. Harper looked away awkwardly, cheeks red and biting the inside of his cheek. He sat down in his seat and got out his blue pencil.
"You got taken to the headmaster's office yesterday, didn't you?" The girl next to him asked.
She had long curly black hair that had been tied into pigtails with red bobbles. She had a blue and black striped shirt, and black leggings.
Harper raised an eyebrow.
"How do you know that?" He asked.
"Yesterday. Mr Williams told you that you needed something on your paper or he was gonna get your parents. You didn't have anything by the end of the lesson." She told him.
"You were looking at my work?"
Her eyes widened and she turned red.
"Yes. I was." She muttered.
"Why?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"I was gonna ask you about who you drew but then, y'know, you didn't draw anyone."
"Why did you want to ask me about it?"
"You ask lots of questions. I've been wanting to be your friend for awhile but I didn't know how to talk to you."
"Oh." He stuck his hand out in front of her awkwardly. "I'm Harper."
The girl just sat there looking at his hand.
"You're supposed to shake my hand hand and tell me your name after." He told her.
"O-oh. Sorry." She laughed awkwardly. She grabbed his hand and shook it. "I'm Frankie."
They both smiled at each other.
Mr Williams cleared his throat and began the lesson, narrowing his eyes and glaring at the Harper as he began to sign to Rosy.
"What are you doing?" Frankie whispered, after noticing Harper signing.
"Rosy's deaf so in lessons I sign what the teachers saying so she can understand." He whispered back.
"That's sweet of you. But wouldn't it of been easier if you were sat next to each other?"
"It would be, but Mr Williams sat us in these seats and when I tried to tell him he dismissed it."
"Oh"
They both went back to listening to the teacher again.
At break time, the students all filed onto the yard, going to their friend groups. Harper walked towards Rosy.
"Harper wait up!" He heard someone say. He turned to find Frankie running towards him.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Playing with my friend. Where are we going?" She said, like it was the most the most obvious thing in the world.
"I'm trying to find Rosy."
"She's your sister, right?"
"Yeah, she's my older twin sister."
"Older? It seems like you're the oldest. You're always worrying about her and trying to help her."
"We take care of each other." He smiled gently.
"Take care of each other? How does she help you?"
"When it comes to my disability." He raised his trousers leg up and she gasped as she saw the prosthetic leg.
"Wow. I had no idea." She looked back up to him.
"That's kinda the point." He laughed.
They turned the corner to find Rosy sitting on the floor, with her head down. She was sobbing quietly, holding her ears. Harper and Frankie's eyes widened.
"What happened?!" He shouted.
She didn't respond. Harper crouched down and gripped her hands. She gasped and tried to escape until she looked up and saw it was her brother.
'What happened?' He signed.
"They ripped my hearing aids out." She whimpered.
"WHAT?!" He yelled.
Frankie put her hand on Harper's shoulder and gave him a sad smile. He pulled her hands from her ears, with much resistance from Rosy. Finally, he managed to keep her hands down and gasped. Her ears were bleeding. Frankie bent down to look and gasped as well. Harper's hand clenched and his knuckles turned white. They did this.

Chapter 3
Mustang slid down the cliff side, face first, until he reached a stop. He immediately got up, and took to looking for the short thug once more.
Fullmetal could hear the leaves rustling around him, and a neigh in the distance. He eventually came to a stop, blood rushing to his head, heart pounding, and leant against the stone next to him, hoping to catch his breath. However, that was not the case, as he fell painfully onto his side, the vines that he once thought were covering a rock wall, falling back into place.
He could see the shadow of his chaser outside the green screen that was shielding him from view. When the horse left, he let out a sigh of relief, and took a look around to gather his surroundings.
He was in a small cave, cove if you will, and there was a lot of light coming from the side. He headed toward the light.
He turned his head after checking that he wasn't followed, to see a beautiful view. A huge, gushing waterfall was at the end of the valley, and a small river. There was green grass everywhere and flowers of all kinds as far as the eye could see. There were hundreds of trees, all different shapes and sizes as well. It truly was a beautiful view.
Height in front of him stood a tower. Old, sturdy, and covered in moss and other plants. Though, there didn't seem to be an entrance. Oh well.
There was a neigh in the distance, and Fullmetal ran towards the tower. He clapped his hands together, and using alchemy, he created two arrows. He dug them between the stones of the tower, and pulled himself up to the top.
His breath was laboured once he reached the top, it wasn't everyday that he had to pull himself up a gigantic structure such as this.
The blonde checked his satchel, to make sure the crown was still in his possession and hadn't fallen out on his journey down the cliff side, or up the tower. He smirked proudly when he saw he still had it, and it was unbroken.
"Alone at last." He stated smugly.
However, everything went black a few moments later when he was hit over the head by something. The young man keels over face-first, hitting the ground hard.
Winry stood behind him, wide eyed and panting, a silver wrench in her tight grasp. She looks down at him, and then at Al, who looked at her as if she was saying:
'See if he has fangs!'
She pushes the wrench against his upper lip, pushing it back, revealing, fortunately, no fangs.
Suddenly, his eyes shot open.
"Huh?" He mumbled. Winry swung at him, knocking him out once more. Struggling, she manages to drag him across the floor, over to her wardrobe. After many attempts of trying g to get him in her closet, swinging him in using her hair, shoving him in a few times, she manages to get him in.
She backs away from the wardrobe, wrench grasped tightly in her hands, pointed at the wardrobe.
"Okay, okay, I got a person in the closet. I got a person in the closet. I got a person in my closet!" She swings her wrench around in her finger
"Too weak to handle myself out there, huh Mother? Well, Tell that to my frying pan!" The wrench hit her in the face.
"Ow!"
"Winry! Let down your hair!" She heard Lust yell.
"One moment, Mother!" She yelled back. Winry glanced at the wardrobe, and then went to help her mother up.
"I have a big surprise." Lust announced when she entered the tower.
"Uh, I do too." she replied.
"Oh, I bet my surprise is bigger."
"I seriously doubt it!"
Lust pulled out a vegetable from her basket.
"I brought back parsnips. I'm going to make hazelnut soup for dinner, your favorite. Surprise!"
"Well mother, there's something I want to tell you." Winry grinned.
"Oh Rapunzel, you know I hate leaving you after a fight." She tapped her daughters cheek.
"Especially when I've done absolutely nothing wrong."
"Okay, I've been thinking a lot about what you said, earlier." Winry changed the subject.
"I hope you're not still talking about the stars." Lust warned her.
"Floating lights, and, yes I'm leading up to that."
"Because I really thought we dropped the issue, sweetheart." She continued, giving her the 'don't push it' look.
"No Mother, I'm just saying, you think I'm not strong enough to handle myself out there." Winry ignored her mother.
"Oh darling, I know you're not strong enough to handle yourself out there." She stated.
"But if you just..." Winry tried to reason.
"Winry, we're done talking about this." She demanded.
"But trust me, I..." she tried again.
"Winry." Lust warned.
"...know what I'm" Winry continued.
"Winry---."
"Oh, come on." Winry begged.
"ENOUGH WITH THE LIGHTS, WINRY! YOU ARE NOT LEAVING THIS TOWER, EVER!" Lust screamed.
"Oh, great. Now I'm the bad guy." She shrugged.
"All I was gonna say, mother, is that... I know what I want for my birthday, now." Winry said looking down, ashamed.
"And what is that?" The black haired woman glared at her.
"New paint. That paint made from the white shells you once brought me." She requested.
"Well that is a very long trip, Rapunzel. Almost three day's time." Lust gave her a worried look.
"I just thought it was a better idea than, stars." Winry looked up at her mother.
"You sure you'll be all right, on your own?" She asked, concerned.
"I know I'm safe, as long as I'm here." Winry hugged Lust.
"I'll be back in three days time. I love you very much, dear." She said as she pet her hair.
"I love you more." Winry rested he head on her chest.
"I love you most." She rested her head on her daughters.

Chapter 1 Chapter 6 Masterlist
Chapter 5
Fullmetal was hanging by the arrows he had stuck into the stones.
"You coming, Blondie?"
Winry jumped, her hair in the loop she used to pull her mother up. She fell all the way down but stopped just before her feet could touch the ground. The grass was a lush green, and looked so soft. She gulped. Her feet grazed the grass and giggled. It tickled her feet like little feathers. Once her feet were on the ground she wiggled her toes around to get used to the feeling of the grass. She grinned from ear to ear. Finally. After eighteen years. She was outside!
Over the next few hours Winry's emotions were going haywire and in all honesty, Fullmetal was kind of sick of it.
She went from disbelief and 'I can't believe I did this' to concern and 'Mother will be so furious' to
'That's okay though, what she doesn't know won't kill her, right?' and 'Oh my gosh, this will kill her.' to 'THIS IS SO FUN!' and back to 'I am a horrible dauughter, I'm going back.' and then back to 'I am never going back!' again. Then came the self-loathing of 'I am a despicable human being.' and then she went back to happiness of 'WAHHOOOOO! Best day, ever!'
Now, here we are, with Winry crouched down leaning against a rock, sobbing. Fullmetal sighed and cleared his throat.
"You know, I can't help but notice, you seem a little at war with yourself, here." He mentioned to the other blonde.
"Really?" She looked up at him in awe of his 'observational' skills.
"Now, I'm only picking up bits and pieces. Overprotective mother, forbidden road trip. This is serious stuff. But let me ease your conscience. This is part of growing up. A little rebellion, a little adventure. That's good, healthy even." He told her. Winry laughed.
"You think?" She gave him a weak smile.
"I know. You're way over thinking this, trust me. Does your mother deserve it? No Will this break her heart and crush her soul? Of course. But you just got to do it."
"Break her heart?" Her eyes widened.
"In half." He stated while rolling a grape around on the stone.
"Crush her soul?"
"Like a grape." He squeezed the grape between his fingers until it burst.
"She would be heart broken, you're right."
"I am, aren't I?" He laughed. "Oh, bother. All right, I can't believe I'm saying this, but...I'm letting you out of the deal."
"What?" Winry looked at him in disbelief.
"That's right. But don't thank me. Let's just turn around, and get you home, here's your wrench, here's your frog. I get back my satchel. You get back a mother daughter relationship based on mutual trust and viola!" He waved his hand. "We part ways as unlikely friends." He put his out for a handshake.
"No, I am seeing those lanterns." She insisted. Fullmetal face twisted into one of frustration and he waved his arms about, annoyed.
"Oh, come on!" He yelled "What is it going to take to get my satchel back?"
Winry held her wrench up to his neck. "I will use this." He put his hands up in defence. The bushes beside them rustled and Winry screamed. She ran behind Fullmetal and jumped on to him, pointing her wrench at the bushes, her body scrambling to stay upright while holding onto him.
"Is it, ruffians, thugs? Have they come for me?!" She yelled, panicked. A rabbit hopped out of the bush.
"Stay calm, it can probably smell fear." Fullmetal told her, his voice void of any emotion.
"Oh, sorry. Getting just a little bit, jumpy." She laughed nervously, and rubbed the back of her neck.
"Probably be best if we avoid ruffians and thugs, though." The blonde man smirked.
"Yeah, that's probably best."
"Are you hungry? I know a great place for lunch." He suddenly suggested. Winry's stomach grumbled, and only then did she realise that she was starving.
"Where?" She asked.
"Oh, don't you worry. You'll know it when you smell it."
Lust was walking around the forest, basket in hand and hood pulled over her head, when Mustang suddenly jumped out of the bushes, smelling the dirt below him.
"Oh, a Palace horse." Then she realised. "Where's your rider?" She looked back in the direction of the tower. "Winry."
She ran. She ran as fast as the wind could take her. As fast as lightning. She tripped on her cloak a few times but gathered herself quickly before continuing. When she reached the base of tower she yelled "WINRY! Winry let down your hair!"
There was no answer. Lust panicked and ran towards the back of the tower, The overgrown vines that were there was covering a secret entrance, and old wooden door. She burst in and ran to her daughters room.
"Winry?" Still no answer.
"WINRY? WINRY!" She continued to yell. Still no answer. She ran around the tower, ransacking everything to find something, some sort of note from Winry to know where she was possibly, or a clue as to where she went or who took her precious daughter.
Winry and Fullmetal were walking around, Fullmetal guiding Winry with his hands lying on her lower back.
"I know it's around here, somewhere." He mumbled, eyes wandering looking for the place he was taking her for lunch. "Ah, there it is. The Snuggly duckling." There was a concerned look on Winry's face. "Don't worry, very quaint place, perfect for you. Don't want you scaring, and giving up on this endeavor now do we?"
"Well, I do like ducklings." The woman chuckled nervously.
"YAY!" He opened the door. "Scar, your finest table, please." Winry gasped. There were ruffians and criminals everywhere.
"You smell that? Take a deep breath through the nose. Really, let that seep in. What are you getting?" He asked her, pushing her through the crowd of rogues. "Because to me, it's part man smell and the other part is really bad man smell. I don't know why, but overall, it smells like the color brown. Your thoughts?" He continued.
"That's a lot of hair." A large man said, holding her golden hair. Winry screamed and ran, her hair flowing through his hands like a river, never stopping.
"She's growing it out, is that blood on your moustache? Goldie, look at this, look at all the blood on his moustache. Good sir, that's a lot of blood." He told the man. He noticed that Winry was looking queasy, as if she'd chuck up a waterfall.
"Hey, you don't look so good, Blondie. Maybe we should get you home. Call it a day. Probably better off. This is a five star joint after all. And if you can't handle this place, well maybe you should be back in your tower." As he was guiding her towards the exit, one of the men slammed the door shut.
"Is this you?" He growled, holding up a poster of what Winry assumed to be Fullmetal, the only difference being the fact that he had a Pinocchio nose.
"Ugh, now they're just being mean." He groaned.
"Oh, it's him all right. Isaac, go find some guards. That reward is going to buy me new glasses." Another one of them said.
"I can use the money." Another chimed.
"What about me? I'm broke. GET BACK!!" One yelled from the back. A brawl broke out, each one of them throwing and pulling Fullmetal about.
"Please, stop!" Winry yelled, worried for his safety and how she would cope getting to see the lights without his help.
"We can work this out." They we're stretching him out like he was some elastic toy.
"Hey, leave him alone." She shouted.
"Please." Fullmetal begged.
"Give me back my guide!! Ruffians!!" She started pulling them off of Fullmetal. She stood on top of one of the wooden tables and screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Put him down! Okay, I don't know where I am, and I need him to take me to see the lanterns, because I've been dreaming about them my entire life. Find your humanity! Haven't any of you ever had a dream?"
All of the thugs looked at her, and then they began to say all of their dreams. One just wanted to find love and have children, another wanted to reconnect with his family again, and one wanted to be a florist. Winry also found out that Fullmetal wanted to know about a gemstone in order to get his limbs back, and to be rich.
"I found the guards!" The guy known as 'Issac' shouted as he slammed open the door.
"Where's Ryder, where is he? I know he's in here somewhere. Find him, turn the place upside down if you have to!" Hawkeye yelled to her guards. The thug with the glasses took them to the back of the place and showed them a secret escape entrance. He signaled for them to go down.
"Go, live your dream." He told them.
"I will." Fullmetal said, nodding to him.
"Your dream stinks, I was talking to her."
"Thanks for everything." Winry said, and kissed him on the cheek before going down the hole. He waved to them and shut the flap.
"I believe this is the man you're looking for." Isaac held up a small man with glasses and a handlebar moustache.
"You got me." He held up his hands.
"Ma'am, there's no sign of Fullmetal." A guard said. Suddenly, the door flung open and Mustang stomped through the door. He started sniffing the floor.
"Mustang. What he's doing?" One of the guards asked.
"A passage, come on men, let's go. Jean, make sure those boys don't get away." Hawkeye ordered. Kimblee elbowed Jean in the stomach and grabbed his spear, breaking Tucker's handcuffs. Tucker then broke his.
"Play it safe. Or go get the crown." Kimblee told him.
Outside of the bar, the short, grey haired man was leaning against the wall, when he saw Lust.
"Ohhh, somebody get me a glass. 'Cause I just found me a tall drink of water." He flirted. Lust covered her mouth as she laughed.
"Oh stop it, you big lug." Her face suddenly fell and she pulled a knife out and held it to the man's face. "Where's that tunnel lead out?" She demanded.

Chapter 1 Chapter 10 Masterlist
Chapter 9
Winry opened her eyes and looked at him, confused as to why he pulled back. Did he not want this? Did he not feel the same way? Was it her? Had she completely misread the situation? When they got to shore she would ask.
"Is everything okay?" She asked, when they got off the boat, upset. He couldn't make eye contact with her. She'd definitely done something wrong. He snapped out of his thoughts.
"Huh? Oh yes. Uh, yes of course. I just...I'm sorry, everything is fine. There's just something I have to take care of." He started to walk off. Where was he going?
"Okay."
"I'll be right back." He told her. He was going to sort all of this out. She wouldn't get hurt because of him and his stupidity. She wouldn't.
"It's all right, Al." She looked down at him and then at where Fullmetal went. She trusted him. She believed that he abandon her and leave her with the satchel.
Fullmetal walked towards the shadows of the men.
"Ahh, there you are. I've been searching everywhere for you guys. Since we got separated. Hey, the sideburns are coming in nice, huh? You gotta be excited about that. Anyhow, just wanted to say, I shouldn't have split. The crown is all yours. I'll miss you, but I think it's for the... best." He threw the satchel at them.
"Holding out on us again? Hey, Fullmetal?" Kimblee smirked evilly.
"What?" He gasped. They couldn't be? No. How would they? How could they have possibly found out about her hair?
"We heard you found something. Something much more valuable than a crown. We want her, instead." His eyes widened when Tucker pinched his neck, knocking him out.
Winry was starting to worry when Fullmetal hadn't shown up for awhile. Then, she saw his shadow and sighed in relief.
"I was starting to think you ran off with the crown and left me." She laughed.
"He did." Kimblee grinned.
"What? No. He wouldn't." Winry couldn't believe it. She trusted him. And he left her by herself so these thugs could do whatever they wanted to her.
"See for yourself." He signaled to the side, and there he was, sailing away in a boat. Her eyes widened and felt tears forming.
"Edward? Edward!" She screamed, hoping for some sort of reply from him. She got nothing.
"Fair trade. A crown, for the girl with the magic hair. How much do you think someone will pay to stay young and healthy forever?" The black haired man asked his friend.
"No, please. NO! NO!" She shouted, running as fast as she could. She looked behind her to see they were chasing after her, and then she tripped on a log of wood. She heard rustling in the background as she sobbed.
"Winry!" She heard her mother yell.
"Mother?" She whimpered. Lust ran over to her and crouched down to pull the crying girl into her arms.
"Oh, my precious girl. Are you all right? Are you hurt?"
"How did you?" Winry asked.
"I was so worried about you dear. So I followed you. And I saw them attack you. Let's go, let's go before they come to." She ushered the girl into the forest.
"You were right, mother. You were right about everything."
"I know darling. I know."
On the boat, Fullmetal was coming to. When he realised where he was he pulled against his restraints. The boat hit the side of something. He looked up. Crap.
"Look! The crown." A guard yelled.
He was getting taken through a hallway filled with prisoners behind bars. He kept pulling at his restraints and pushing the guards away to no avail.
"Winry. WINRY! Wait, wait, wait. Guys, guys. Winry!" He yelled.
"Let's get this over with, Fullmetal." One of the guards said to him. He raised an eyebrow.
"Where are we going?" He looked through the window and saw a hanging station. "Oh..."
Back in the tower Lust and Winry were sat on Winry's bed. Lust pulled out the last flower out of her hair.
"There, it never happened. Now, wash up for dinner. I'm making hazelnut soup." She looked at her daughter and bit the inside of her lip. "I really did try, Rapunzel. I tried to warn you, what was out there. The world is dark, and selfish, and cruel. If it finds even the slightest ray of sunshine, It destroys it."
In the prison Fullmetal was getting taken to his sentence when he saw Kimblee and Tucker next to him. He elbowed one of the guards and shoved the other and ran towards the two men. He grabbed Kimblee by the collar.
"How did you know about her?! Tell me, now!" He demanded.
"It wasn't us! It was the old lady!" Kimblee shouted back, terrified of the little man on the other side of the bars.
"Old lady? Wait, no, wait! You don't understand, she's in trouble. Wait!" He gasped, struggling against the guards again.
Winry was laying down, holding the handkerchief that Fullmetal gave her to the ceiling when she was pulled into a slideshow of memories. She gasped at the end and sat up on her bed, panting heavily.
"Winry? Winry, what's going on up there? Are you all right?" Lust asked her.
"I'm the lost princess." Winry mumbled, eyes widened in realisation.
"Please, speak up, Winry. You know how I hate the mumbling." The older woman scolded her.
"I am the lost Princess. Aren't I? Did I mumble, Mother? Or should I even call you that?" If looks could kill Lust would be in tiny little ashes on the ground.
"Winry, do you even hear yourself? Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?" Lust laughed at her stupid accusation, nervous.
"It was you! It was all, you." She pointed her finger at her 'mother'. Lust gave up the charade. There was no point anymore.
"Everything I did, was to protect you."Winry pushed her aside as she walked down the stairs, gripping her hair.
"Winry!"
"I spent my entire life!-- Hiding from people who would use me for my power."
"Winry!"
"I should have been hiding from you." She realised, and glared at the woman once more.
"Where will you go? He won't be there for you." She told her.
"What did you do to him?" She growled.
"That criminal is to be hanged for his crimes."
"No." She gasped. It was all her fault. He was going to die because of her.
"Now, now. It's all right. Listen to me. All of this is as it should be." Lust tried to approach her.
"NO! You were wrong about the world. And you were wrong about me. And I will never let you use my hair, again!" Winry yelled and stormed off.
"You want me to be the bad guy? Fine. Now I'm the bad, guy." Lust smirked evilly.
