Cliques And Friends

cliques and friends

From the 5 cliques in Bullworth I always had the feeling that the Greasers are the closest.

In their missions they are mostly all there. I mean you try to escape with Algie and Chad, that tried to hit on Lola, and well she’s Johnnys queen and even if the Greasers don’t respect her, they respect Johnny as their leader and are going after you. All of them. And they go up again, as soon as you get them off their biked and go after you again and again and don’t give up, no matter what.

You don’t see that much commmitment in other cliques around Bullworth.

The Preps do not seem to care that much about each other. Derby didn’t even care to tell Pinky he wouldn’t come to the date and everyone is looking away that Tad is getting beaten up by his father. They are so much into being Preps and what other people think of them, their friendships are on a nearly nonexistent point.

The Nerds seem like they are only a clique because this way they have a little bit of power and stength. But Earnest seems to care only about porn and the others try to do whats best for them, instead of looking out for each other. They don’t go themselfes if one of their friends need help, they always send Jimmy. They value themselfes over their friendships.

The Jocks seem to be closer but they kicked Mandy basically out after her pictures were all over Bullworth. Instead of standing up for her and Ted even dumped her. The Jocks actually had a reason to beat up the Nerds, but they didn’t do it. They ignored one of their own and basically threw her out like trash when she wasn’t the perfect cheerleader anymore.

The Bullys are a lot better to each other. They do not seem as close as the Greasers and often act alone, but they seem like a bunch of friends who happen to be a clique. Just like accidentally they were one, since they do not care about the clique politics anyways.

But the Greasers really stand up for one another.

I guess it’s because they come from the same neighboorhood. A place where you need real friends and it’s not important what you look like, because everyone is poor. So you only have your friends and that why you value them so much.

Marriage Names

http://thoughtcatalog.com/melanie-berliet/2015/08/15-men-react-to-the-idea-of-taking-their-wifes-last-name-after-marriage/

8. “No way. Rationale? It’s half a biological impulse, and half a contextual thing. Biologically, the word ‘domain’ keeps popping into my head.  That sounds misogynistic, I know. But at my core, when all is said and done, I believe that the family is my domain. For instance, in any hypothetical state of emergency, I’m going be the one to sacrifice my life to save my wife and children. I should be the one whose name lives on.”

— Raul, 29

I think it’s really unimporant what your surname is, but I just like this answer. As long as he’d sacrifice his life for his family he’s fine to keep his name. I mean he has the right prioritys obviously! My parents aren’t married and I have my mothers surname and I am glad for that, because my initals would be annoying with my fathers surname. But that’s literally the only reason. But I think it’s something everyone should decide for themselfes. If you want your husbands surname, take it.If you want your wifes surname, take it.If you want a double-name, take it.If you want to keep your name, take it.If you want to change both of your name, do it.Whatever.It’s your marriage, nobody should tell you what name you should take on!

I’m a german writer and if you publish on mainly english sides you do not get a lot of comments. I mean espically on AO3 they are very rare. I have a lot of amazing readers on my german pubishing page that give me for each chapter comments and I just love there readers but I still appriciate any other comment that they like my work. I mean, I sometimes just write an auther a sentence that I liked from his work, just to tell him, how amazing that sentence was, because it’s appritiation and that is what we authors need.

August 21st: Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day

It is not surprising news that fanfiction writers are highly underappreciated.

There’s something wrong with the numbers: let’s take a popular fic with almost 4k hits. For let’s say 700 readers, it will get about 50 comments and 300 Kudos (those numbers are just an example, sometimes it’s worse than that). Maybe I’m being too kind, maybe not, but things stay the same; there’s something wrong here. Can you see it?

It takes us days, weeks, sometimes months to write a story for you. We write for ourselves yes, but we also write to share. We write to offer you content about your favourite characters. We write to bring our and your ships to life. It takes you a fraction of second to leave a Kudos, ten seconds to one, two or a few minutes to leave a comment.

And here lies our problem: there’s no proper sharing if there’s no proper feedback. An author not getting comments is generally a sad author. If I didn’t get feedback I’d wonder what’s the point in keeping on writing. A comment makes a writer’s day, most of the time even motivates them to write more.

Another important thing thrandythefabulous and I noticed: why on Earth do so many readers don’t comment (even kudos) if the fic has been up for a little more than a week or two? Why? Your feedback is still welcomed and much appreciated.

We write for ourselves, but also we write for you. And sadly, many readers are being quite… ungrateful, when giving feedback is the least they can do to thank the people offering them stories for free.

So, before we get started on our little day, let’s talk about comments:

It doesn’t matter if other readers already said what you wanted to say, we’ll still love reading it again in your words.

It doesn’t matter the fic has been up for weeks or months or years; comments on those ones are unexpected and so, it makes them ever better.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have much to say, we’ll be glad anyway.

Most authors leave the comment section open to people who don’t have an AO3 account, which means you can still… comment! How amazing is that.

That brings us to our little Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day.

The point of this day is simple; on August 21st, writers and readers alike would go on AO3 (or any fanfiction website really), on Tumblr, and leave a comment on their favourite fics (even the fics they enjoyed!) and/or send their authors a message about their works.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve already or never commented. It doesn’t matter if the author doesn’t know about this post. It doesn’t matter if the author already knows how much you love their work.

Just let writers know you love the fics they write for you, simple as that!

And well, don’t forget to keep leaving a Kudos and a comment in the future, and make writers happy!

Hero: a Definiton

Today I read in our Newspaper a questioning who was the favourite Superhero and well, of couorse nobody who really knew much about comic books was asked. So naturally the best know was on top: Superman.

But that was not what botherd me! I like Superman and I liked the other heros in that list, but they were not all Superheros. Super means [above, over, beyond] so it means Over-hero, over-human. That means not any kind of hero is a superhero. Most are just norman human heros. And then there are the anti-heros of course aswell who have anti-heroic traits. I guess you could get the very-intelligent heros in an extra category, since they are beyond human intelligence, but that is more of an average thing but still humanly possible. While meta-humans or aliens clearly have powers above human possibliltys. Gods have these too, but gods are, well gods. So they should have an extra cathegory aswell.

In conclusion this makes the following groups: Superheros: Heros with powers beyond human powers. Example: Superman, Captain America, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, most of the X-Men Heros with a high intelligence: [People, not necessairily humans] with a high intelligence, but no powers. Example: Batman, Ironman

Heros: norman People without powers, that have heroic traits. Example: Green Arrow, Nightwing, Speedy, Batgirl, Kim Possible

Anti-Heros: Heros with anti.heroic traits. Example: Deadpool, Red Hood, Rorschach Gods: Mythological gods. Thor, Odin

“But if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.”
