If They Take Us Alive, They Will Deliver Us To Ramsay. Theon Grabbed Jeyne About The Waist And Jumped.

“If they take us alive, they will deliver us to Ramsay. Theon grabbed Jeyne about the waist and jumped.“

I think it is a really great thing that this is the first decision Theon really makes for himself in asoiaf.

Before this point all decisions have been directly related to either the Stark vs Greyjoy conflict, driven through Robb and Balon or Ramsay’s abuse and manipulation.

But this moment right there is the moment Theon makes a decision and it is to get himself and Jeyne away from Ramsay. Not only did neither Starks nor Greyjoys had anything to do with it, as Jeyne Poole is not actually Arya Stark and isn’t politically worth a lot, but also Ramsay is not being able to manipulate him at this moment. His fear or consequences about Ramsay isn’t what happens when they get caught it is if they get caught. There is a decision to make and Theon uses this decision to get them away from the horrible situation they are in.

Before this point everything in his live was driven by other people. He got brought to Winterfell because of his father, he got raised as a ward because Ned Stark took his dutys seriously, he masked his insecurities with sex and smiles because he was a hostage due to his father’s bad plans, he went to war with Robb because he had to (not that he objected, but he wouldn’t have had a choice in the matter either way), he went to Pyke because Robb sent him, he took Winterfell because his father questioned his loyalty, he killed the millers boys because of Ramsay.

Decision after decision was made based on other people but not this time. This time Theon had the chance to make something for just himself and it was to save himself and Jeyne.

And I think that shows that he was never a bad person but rather someone who was stuck in a situation they had no choices over and did bad things because of that.

some very important info re: paid accounts~

I am not a lawyer, but I can decently interpret legalese and, being as I also suffer from tl;dr syndrome and assume others may as well, I took one for the team and went through the updated TOS for the post+ accounts and highlighted (what I understand to be) the most pertinent information, which ultimately comes down to this:

You cannot monetize copyrighted works (aka charge and earn money from fanfic, fanworks, etc) and if you do decide to put your fanworks behind a paywall via Tumblr, when you are inevitably sued, Tumblr will not protect you and will not defend you and you alone, personally, will be responsible for whatever monetary damages said lawsuit results in.

If anyone is a lawyer and knows I've gotten any of this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me/this post.

Screenshots taken from Tumblr's TOS (updated 7-21-21), Stripe's Account Agreement, and the post+ FAQs.

1. Your paid account will not be hosted by tumblr; it is routed through a 3rd party.

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

2. By signing up for a paid account, you're entering into an agreement with Stripe, so in addition to Tumblr's TOS, you are also bound to Stripe's TOS.

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

3. Stripe, like Tumblr, will not defend you or protect you against any lawsuits.

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

4. Furthermore, you may end up owing Stripe money (indemnify = compensate)

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

5. Tumblr's TOS specifically states that you can't put any content on your post+ account that violates any laws, including laws that protect intellectual property rights of others. This is super important, because Tumblr's post+ FAQ also states that you can post anything that you would regularly post on tumblr, which I'm sure many will take to mean that gifsets, fanworks, etc are fair game, since all of that stuff can be posted on tumblr now. However, the difference is, you're not making money from the fanworks you're posting or reblogging now. Once money enters the equation, the game changes.

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

Tumblr is making it seem like any and all content goes for post+ accounts, knowing 90% of this site is fanworks. This is not true and you'll be opening yourself up for lawsuits if you charge for fanworks.

6. Tumblr further disclaims any and all liability in any legal issues.

Some Very Important Info Re: Paid Accounts~

tl;dr: Please do not make a post+ account, bc you will be opening yourself to lawsuits and if that happens, Tumblr's response will be not our problem, you agreed to all the terms which said you couldn't do that, sorry not sorry. Please protect yourself.

Since Maron Greyjoy was a lot like Euron and Rodrick Greyjoy was a lot like Victarion, I think it would be so funny if they died a similar way. Euron geting crushed by a collapsing building, since Maron died by a collapsed tower.

And Victarion getting killed in a fight, bonus points if it’s a Malliser he’s fighting.

But Vic starting a fight in a collapsing tower, because he’s an idiot and killing Euron is more important. Than Euron winning by cheating but getting crushed by the building would be great. And all of that in Seagard.

Asha watching from the distance winning the in-family war by being neither an idiot not a maniac. Theon asking himself why his family is like this.

After re-reading the first chapter of bnha I can honestly say that the foreshadowing is brilliantly done, so here’s an analysis with the currently plot in mind. Standpoint chapter 319.  This is going to be the next couple of posts.

image

The literal first page is Deku saying that people are born unequal and he knew what society is like by the age of four.

So here’s the thing: this is what will allow Deku to become the greatest hero. He lived through the society and suffered from it, just like his enemies.

He just needs to go back to his roots he seems to have left behind currently. He spend all this time with people who have incredible power by birth and he got gifted the power of all powers because of something he accomplished, by being a proper hero.

And that led him to forget his roots, but in order to really understand his enemies he would have to look back at his life before he spend it with all these people that society praises to see what is the reasoning behind his enemies.

Currently he is talking to them through the lens of a pro hero and not that of a human who knows the suffering by society and that is why he isn’t getting the answers he wants with Muscular and Overhaul. Not to mention he did not even ask the villains he didn’t know personally. So right now Deku is selecting who if worthy of saving and who isn’t. But a real hero would safe anyone.

And this Deku, this kid from the first chapter did not care who he was saving, as long as the person needed saving.

Bakugo was horrible to Deku at the beginning, he literally told him to kill himself.

image

And still, when it came down, Deku went to safe Bakugo, he didn’t even think twice about it.

image
image

This is the kind of person Deku is at the very beginning and his recent focus on Tomura being someone worth saving shows that this kind of person is still there.

But he spend so much time in pro hero society that he forgot that saving anyone is the first thing to do. Tomura said in chapter 19, so just a few chapter after Deku got his powers that society is unfair, but no one listens to him.

(Obviously showing up with a bunch of villains and attacking kids is not a good way to start that conversation, but)

Deku is there to hear it, but he doesn’t pay attention to what is being said. Tomura actually tells him multiple times that society is unfair. But Deku does not listen because the words are coming out of a villains mouth.

And this is an issue that Deku is working on right now. But great yet, considering he started the conversation with Muscular doing the rampage and didn’t really listen to what Overhaul said, but is still listening more than the pro heroes. Especially the top 3 when it comes to Dabi’s speach.

But this moment right here, the very first page is what gives Deku the possibility above every other kid in UA to actually be a real hero and not a pro. Because he like his enemies knows that society is bad. He just needs to remember that.

The foreshadowing of All Might being the last pillar holding the society together.

We know from the television scene that he is what makes people to not have fear. This is why when a villain strikes crowds form to see heroes instead of getting themselves into safety. This is why society is still holding up with all that awfulness. Because All Might is there to safe the day.

image

There is no change needed because he is not a pro hero for money and fame, he is a hero. He wants so help people, to save them and he suffers for them. To the point where his own health comes after the world.

This is something we now see in Deku too and as Bakugo called him out so nicely: it is very wrong.

Because in All Might is led to this:

image

He can not succumb in any way. And he is not talking about outside forces here, he talks about his own health. The forces of evil being the injury he suffered through fighting. He isn’t allowed to be human. Heroes, pro heroes are not allowed to be human in his and societies eyes. They are there to be idol beings with no flaws.

So what happens once that symbol that one person that actually upheld those inhumane standards is gone? Society crumbles as soon as something happens. That something being Dabi, telling the world about Endevour’s abuse and Hawk’s murder.
