Cape Kraken Kraken Cape I wanted a House Greyjoy cloak, so I made one. Instruction for making one yourself down below.

What materials you need:
For the cloak: -2m / 6ft 6 waterproof fabric that doesn’t need hemming
-Matching thread
-a oversized hood pattern (super easy to diy)
For the Kraken version you’ll additionally need:
-2m / 6ft6 gold trim
-gold thread, I used 2 spools à 2m/ 6ft 6 including embroidery
-2 buttons for eyes
The base cloak:
Cut a square of fabric using the width of your fabric. (folded on the picture)
Make a hood pattern by tracing a hood shape on paper, but make the bottom part of the hood have an extended piece of fabric, that will be used as closure later. You can make it as long as you want.
Use the remaining fabric to cut out 2 hood pieces.
Pin the hood pieces together leaving the straight side free and then sew the pinned pieces together aside from the straight side.
Fold your fabric square in half, you’ll need to cut out a small half circle on the edge where the fabric folds over. Measure your neck and use ¾ of that length to mark the sides of what your half circle cut out will be. Now combine the lines with a quarter circle and cut that circle out. This will give you the half circle where the hood will be attached.
Pin the hood to the fabric with the insides facing each other and sew the hood to the cloak.
If you simply want a cloak you can stop now for your friendly neighborhood’s watch style.
For the Kraken version you’ll need to trim the hood with gold. Fold the trim in half and pin the middle of the trim to the top of the hood where the seam is to get an even outcome. Then pin the trim along the hood leaving the rest of the trim to hang free so you can use it as a closure later. Sew the trim on.
Next lay the cloak flat on the floor and draw tentacles on it, than sew along the tentacle lines with gold thread.
For the eyes I needed some help, but you can eyeball it. I asked my mom to put the hood on so I could find the right spot to attach the eyes in a kraken looking way and then sewed them on.
If you want you can sew a beak. Trace a beak onto the base of the hood and sew it on.
Then I started on the suckers. You could make them in a different number of ways, using fabric color, sewing on buttons or beads or cutting out tentacles with a pre-embroidered fabric, but here’s how I did it through machine embroidery:
I used a zick-zack stitch to create little squares, lifted the foot and needle to move it further down the fabric where I made the next little square and I left the threat in between there. You could cut it off or sew a straight line between the squares, I just liked this visually the most.
This embroidery is the most time consuming part of the whole project.
And that’s it. You have a fancy Kraken Cloak now.

Since Maron Greyjoy was a lot like Euron and Rodrick Greyjoy was a lot like Victarion, I think it would be so funny if they died a similar way. Euron geting crushed by a collapsing building, since Maron died by a collapsed tower.
And Victarion getting killed in a fight, bonus points if it’s a Malliser he’s fighting.
But Vic starting a fight in a collapsing tower, because he’s an idiot and killing Euron is more important. Than Euron winning by cheating but getting crushed by the building would be great. And all of that in Seagard.

how this episode should have gone:
-Dany, still reeling from the shock and grief of her best friend’s death, learns of Varys’s betrayal
-They hold a proper trial where Varys is found guilty of treason and subsequently executed. This is highly emotionally taxing for everyone involved.
-Tyrion goes to Jaime and asks him for help removing Cersei peacefully, since he has fears about Dany’s state of mind. Jaime agrees, and they hatch a plan where he sneaks into the red keep and pretends to still love Cersei, appealing to her as a mother rather than a queen.
-Jaime asks Tyrion to tell Brienne that he loves her
-Dany flies on King’s Landing while Grey Worm, Jon, and Davos assemble their armies outside the gates.
-Dany takes out the iron fleet and the scorpions on the walls. When she sees the Lannister troops surrender, she flies straight for the red keep to confront Cersei
-The whole thing with Arya and the Hound goes down exactly as it did
-Jaime manages to convince Cersei to leave with him, and they are at the little shore at the bottom of the staircase when Euron shows up. Cersei turns against Jaime and orders Euron to kill her brother
-Euron and Jaime fight it out, much like they did in the episode. Jaime wins, but knows he cannot continue to live. Finally forced to confront what Cersei has become he kills her, before succumbing to his injuries and dying at her side
-Dany attacks the red keep, believing that Cersei is still inside and unwittingly sparks up the wyldfire, which sets off chain reactions across the city, causing irreparable damage and carnage
-We see Arya trying to get out of the path of destruction, much as she did during the episode
-Grey Worm, Jon, and Davos organize their troops to help people out of the city and rescue them from the fires. They are forced to make terrible decisions during this. We see Grey Worm allowing a few people to die in order to rescue a larger group of people, Davos must leave someone behind because he can’t reach them in the rubble, Jon commits a mercy killing for someone who is too injured to survive
-Cleganebowl goes down almost exactly as it did in the episode, but instead of falling into fire they just fall onto pavement. Arya finds the Hound dying a slow horrible death and he asks her to kill him. This time she agrees and gives him a swift, painless death, waiting at his side while he dies
-Much as the prophecy foretold, we see Dany walking into the throne room alone while it rains ash. She nearly reaches the throne when she hallucinates Drogo and their son off to the side (again, like the prophecy). She runs to him and admits that she thinks she is going mad. Drogo reminds her that she must be stronger than the madness. She must recognize it wherever she can and fight to get past it.
-Dany says a tearful goodbye to Drogo, finally letting him go, and takes the iron throne. The last shot is of her sitting tall and proud, but if you look closely you can see her hands shake a little.

It took me 5 months to finish all 5 books of Game of Thrones and I’ve fallen in love with the Greyjoys. Ever since Euron stepped in, their plot got a whole lot more interesting. Valyrian scale armor?? Kraken helmet?? You’re spoiling me, George. I’m so ready for the Victarion versus Euron drama.

On Euron and Daenerys
Something I don't think I'll ever get over is the absolutely devastating effect Game of Thrones had on how Euron Greyjoy is perceived by the fandom. In the show, because they were allergic to magic for some reason, they totally took away the supernatural elements from Euron. This left them with a villain with no motivation so they created the dumb fucking man we got in the show. A man who wants power and is apparently planning on marrying a queen to get it, end of story.
People for some reason decide to project Euron's characterization from the show onto his books counterpart. In the books, Euron wants to bring about the apocalypse, that's his goal, that's why he's collecting Valyrian artifacts, why he wants a dragon, and why he wants control of the iron fleet. And yet, people believe that Euron will end the books in much the same position as the show, except this time he'll be allied with and possibly even married to Daenerys. This makes no sense for both characters.
First of all, Dany would never marry Euron. Ever. He's a psychopathic misogynist who wants to destroy everything she holds dear. Even by Dany anti standards this doesn't make sense, after all, how can their "mad queen" become the supreme tyrant of Westeros if Westeros is gone? Also Euron has very little political power in the grand scheme of Westeros, sure the iron fleet is powerful, but a marriage alliance with the ironborn is far from the most advantageous match. Dany marrying Euron makes no sense for her character, even the extremely wrong interpretation of Dany antis.
It also makes no sense for Euron's character. Yes, he sent Victarion to try to broker a marriage pact, but this is influenced by a fundamental misunderstanding of who Dany is. Both Victarion and Euron are operating with the misogynistic idea that Dany could be easily controlled by a man. Euron has a history of sexually exploiting people for his gain, Falia Flowers for example. Dany has been around men who employ similar methods before, she wouldn't fall for any of his tricks and could easily get rid of him. So, once Euron actually knows about Dany as a person rather than a far off legend, he would know that killing her is his only option. Therefore, he wouldn't bother pursuing a marriage pact. Also it could be said he's using the marriage pact as a way to get the dragon binder close to the dragons, instead of actually pursuing it, which is why he sent Victarion, who hates Euron. But I'm not going to go into that theory lol.
All this to say, the way the show chose to protray Euron Greyjoy has caused the fandom to develop a very warped perception of the character. Euron is not seeking regular power, he doesn't want to rule Westeros, he wants to destroy it. On top of that, the deliberate misinterpretation of Dany's character leads to the prevalence of the Dany x Euron theory. They will not get married, they will not be allies, Dany will be key in defeating the Others, and Euron will die having failed his goal.
