Truth Or Lies

Warnings: Just fluffy

Pairing: Jin!BTS x reader

Premise: It was up to him to decide. You knew this wasn't something to push. “Are we telling the truth or are we lying?”, patiently you waited.

Author's notes: Just a super short one I thought up while doing dishes the other day. Heavily unedited.

Your Team loses for the 3rd time that night.

Everyone starts to say their goodbyes and one by one they hang up; except you and one other person.

“Yah, we are never playing on their team again.” The male voice yells from the other end of the line, making you chuckle.

You had been playing with this person for over 3 months online. You had become quick friends despite the language barrier. He had worked really hard to get better at his English to be able to communicate with you. Originally it was just for gaming online, now it was for all the midday and late hour discord calls. Thankfully you were able to answer his calls almost any time of the day as you were working from home.

You hear him shuffle about and sigh deeply. Then nothing. Silence. He wasn’t known for silence. He would always chat about something unimportant and trivial and you would listen and respond when you deemed necessary. When he was really getting animated over something he would unknowingly slip back into his native tongue, which always brought a smile to your face when he would grumble an apology in English.

“What’s wrong?” You questioned.

“Can I ask you something?” He hesitates.

“Of course.” Was all you said, still wearing your headset while making yourself a tea.

More silence. You began to worry a little.

“We’re friends right?” He hesitates.

“Yesss?” You push.

“What’s your real name?” He blurts out.

Silence. This time on your end. You contemplate answering him. It’s not that you mind telling him, but there's something in his voice that makes you think he wasn’t ready to answer that himself.

“Are we telling the truth or are we lying?” You ask carefully.

“.....Lying” He whispers after some time.

“My name is Serena. What’s yours?” You begin, taping your fingers on your mug, leaning against your counter top. Smirking at your sailor moon monopoly game still sprawled out on your kitchen table from the night before.

“Ha-Joon” He responds. “What do you do for work?”

“Part time at a florist's shop. You?” You sip your tea. Thinking back to past fanfics you have come across.

“Uh, I’m not right now.” His questions keep coming after that.

“Do you have siblings?” “No”

“Favourite colour?” “Green”

“How old?” “184” *smirk*

“Pets?” “No”

“Favourite music?” “Country”

“Single” “Depends who’s asking”

Eventually after what feels like a million questions keep shooting back and forth. However, you know all your answers are lies; Just like his.

It’s been almost a year since that day. You both still talk every chance you get. Neither of you brought up that night again.

At this point in your life, he was the person closest to you. Your friendship continued to deepen into something more.

Late one night, something changed. He started acting weird, avoiding questions, all while you kept hearing snickering from the other line. Eventually you had enough.

“Ha-Joon” You began “What’s going on with you lately?”

“I - Uh - I’m - You - “ He stuttered, you patiently wait for him to finish.

He took a deep breath and prepared himself.

“What’s your real name?” annunciating every word carefully.

You had thought about this moment since that day. If it would ever come, if he would ever be ready to actually tell you the truth.

A truth you already knew, but wanted him to tell you when he was ready. You knew since the first voice call. You would know that voice from anywhere. You’d listened to it everyday in more ways than one.

“Truth or Lies?” Maybe now he was ready.

“Truth”

“Y/N” Tension building. “Yours?”

“Jin.” there's a crash, you smile. Him once again falling back into his native tongue. “Ahhhhh, why is this hard? What if she doesn't want to be friends anymore. What if she gets scared? You’re being a fool Seokjin, you’re just making a friend. You are world wide handsome”

You couldn't hold it in any longer. You start to laugh; you start to laugh so hard you start crying, clutching your chest in an attempt to catch your breath.

“Why are you laughing?” He asks in Korean, forgetting to ask in English.

“You gave yourself a pep talk.” You can barely get out in Korean. “You - you - called yourself worldwide handsome.”

“YOU CAN SPEAK KOREAN.” He bellows over the voice call, making you laugh harder. “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOU COULD SPEAK KOREAN??”

Eventually you regain composure.

“You said to lie” stating simply, wiping tears from your eyes. You fall back onto your bed, wrapping yourself in your fluffy duvet.

“Right….. Soooo?” He trails off.

“My name is Y/N, I’m 33. I work as a financial advisor, and I work from home.” You try recalling all past questions. “I live alone with my 2 cats. I have an older sister. My favourite colour is black. I am single. And my favorite music is Kpop.”

“Do you know BTS?” Was his only response.

“Do you know ARMY?” You reply in retaliation.

“YAH, you know who I am!” He yells again.

“I always knew.” You smirk. “I knew since the first game.”

“Y/N…..” You hear him smile “Thank you.

Christmas Miracle

Pairing: Jin!roommate x reader roommate Premise: Stuck in your apartment due to the rapidly approaching storm, it would take a Christmas miracle to change your grinch of a mood or maybe two? Prompt: "Are you eating cookies right now? It's 3 AM!" "If Santa can do it so can I."

"Holy shit! What are you doing?!"Jin screeches as he enters your shared kitchen. You had technically been sitting at the island in the dark so it wasn't too surprising that you scared him when he turned the light on, either way you didn't flinch.

He jumped so easily to which you found out very quickly when you two first moved in together. Your friendship grew close over the span of 3 years being in each others spaces. He had met your friends, and you met his. You also joined him and his friends visiting his home quite a few times, his parents and brother were welcoming when you showed up the first time. Even now his mum occasionally called you asking how you were, directly wanting to speak to you.

You had grown accustomed to what you two were now.... and if some part of you may have grown to yearn for more, no one needed to know.

“Well after a long therapy inducing video call with my mother, informing her that I will not be making it home for Christmas because of the storm….. I was in need of some guilt food.” You wave the homemade baked good in the air, somehow like it explained everything.

"Are you eating cookies right now? It's 3AM!" He huffs, taking the seat next, giving you his unsubtle side glance. He did that when he was worried but assumed it was better not to say anything.

"If Santa can do it so can I...." You mumble taking another large bite of the sugar cookie. Mouth full you still ask him, "When are you leaving?"

"In about 2 hours" He snatches the cookie out of your hand taking a bite for himself, you stare at him in shock and betrayal, unbothered he continues munching. "The storm report says it's coming in around 6am, I want to be either at my parents or close to by that point."

"Smart move." You agree, grabbing at the last part of the cookie before he can stop you you shove it into your mouth chewing vigorously to swallow it down.

"So what's your plan now?" He doesn't make a move to retaliate, so you assume he's accepted it as he takes is phone out of his pocket and begins tapping on the screen. Probably one of those daily games he plays so much.

"Stay here?" Shrugging at your own suggestion. "Eat my share of cookies I made, binge a show? Who knows I might get a little wild."

"You? Wild?" He raises an eyebrow at you.

"Call it a Christmas miracle."

"Do you want to spend Christmas with me and my family?" He asks, any hint of mocking from before is gone.

"Hah?" That wasn't the politest response you could have given but atleast you hadn't choked.

"My brother and his wife are already there, they'd both love to see you again." He gives you genuine smile. "Not to mention my parents."

"But is that really ok? I don't want to intrude on anything." There was no way he couldn't hear how loudly your heart was beating, and if he couldn't he must be deaf. The whole neighbourhood could probably hear it.

"Of course! Plus you're already packed. It's a win-win." Clearly your face doesn't share his confidence. "Look I'll prove it."

He looks at his phone, doing something on it before placing it on the marbled counter top.

"Wha-" You're cut off from asking anything else, his phone rings aloud only once before the line is picked up.

'Seokjin, is everything ok?'

"Yes mum, can you please tell y/n you already said it's ok for her to spend Christmas with us?" He smirks at you.

'Y/N dear, of course it's more than ok!'

"Mrs. Kim, thank you so much, but what are you doing awake at this time of night?"

'We're all waiting until Seokjin gets here, the storm is too worrisome for us to sleep.'

'IS THAT JINNIE?' You hear a voice boom from the background of her call.

'Yes it's your brother. Y/N will be joining us for Christmas this year.'

'Y/N!' You hear him cheerfully call to you, you can't help but laugh and give a small hello. 'About time Jinnie finally grew a pair and asked you out. I was loosing all hope for him.'

You don't know what to say, your brain short circuits. Grow a pair? Ask you out? What just happened.

"I'll text you when we leave, Bye!" Jin hangs up hastily, giving you a sheepish smile then averting his gaze. But you're stuck looking at him.

"...Jin..." You take a moment to calm yourself, his brother may have just been joking. "What was your brother talking about 'loosing hope'?"

"Uh ha ha." He looks at you again, before giving an audibly shaky exhale. "I didn't really plan to talk to you about this until after Christmas, but um- you see, over these past years of living together and being really good friends I've realized my feelings for you have changed. My family also knows that they've changed and they've been nagging at me to tell you, because in some weird delusion they think you might feel the same way."

'Feel the same way' you both felt the same way?

"And I'll take any Christmas miracle for that to be true. I really would like to be more for you..."

"Well," You start slowly. "It looks like one of us is getting their miracle."

You let out an airy chuckle, before relaxing. You gave Jin's shoulder a little bump snapping out of his stuper.

"Or maybe both? I can still be a little wild at my in-laws place." You snatch another cookie off the plate, leaving your seat and heading to your room to grab any last minute things. But that doesn't mean you're out of earshot to hear him shout from the kitchen.

"THANK YOU CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!"

I think there would be an element of surprise but other than that. I think they are self-aware enough to understand that a woman can be just as much a threat as a man when it comes to you. Chan: If anything he wouldn't realize that she was flirting with you at first, but then he'd pick up on the things she was saying or more like how she talked to you. He'd definitely respect her for trying, but ultimately he'd sit or stand quietly next to you waiting for you to let her down. He wouldn't say anything himself, until you'd introduce him to her. He'd be all smiles and very respectful and mindful of himself.

Lee Know: Male or female, this man is possessive. Anyone could look at you and he would be annoyed. That doesn't mean that he won't be impressed by you. Your ability to attract all genders wouldn't be lost on him. His piercing gaze would be on anyone breathing the same air as you. He'd be just as vocal with a female flirting with you. Moving you to stand away from here, putting himself in the middle to tell her to move on. He wouldn't bite his tongue.

Changbin: Honestly he would have the same reaction as with a man. However, I do think he would be shocked. He wouldn't have left your side all night so for her to try with him there would leave him momentarily baffled. Which would turn into being cocky and smirking to himself, especially if you shut it down quickly. But if you didn't or she wasn't getting the hint he would be agitated and snappy.

Hyunjin: He'd be in shock. Thinking 'is she really acting like I'm not here', annoyance plastered on his face. There's no way he'd take it lightly. If you didn't brush her off immediately he'd be short with you all night. Especially if he was the one who had to make her leave. He'd create such a show in his display that you'd want to hide, but he wouldn't ket you. He would hold you in place and make you tell her you were taken.

Han: He'd second guess himself. 'Is she hitting on her? Am I imagining it?'. He'd be stuck in a mental argument with himself. You'd turn her down graciously and when you did he'd feel dumb for not going with his gut. You'd call him cute, and he'd be pouty for not being able to defend you himself. You'd have to agree that next time you'd tell him so he could be the one to say something.

Felix: Just because he thought it was sweet doesn't mean he'd take it lightly. His ultimate goal would be to make friends with them as fast as possible, that way when he brought up your relationship it would hit her deep. He'd be sweet and sincere and she'd like him which would make her stop her attempts in he tracks, either she'd walk away or talk more to him than you.
