Also three things I forgot to mention: I changed the jacket to from what I drew with Stress and Grian to this. I know bibbers are normally a single color, but like… asymmetry 🥺. Last thing is that I know some hermits did play instruments, but know little about this, only that Xisuma play guitar and Stress and Impulse played percussion lol! Feel free to correct, but I probs won’t redraw anyone :/

Here's some Disgrace for the soul

Xisuma logged back into the server after a month. He was refreshed and ready to take on the world. Nothing could stop him.

Maybe the giant wall of water could stop him.

His communicator lit up and practically did not stop buzzing as the hermits clamored for his aid. Impulse made a comment about overwhelming him, and the messages stop. That's when Grian sent a final and complete message:

"Xisuma, something is really wrong with the ocean."

Xisuma looked up at the wall of water. He could see large shadows swelling and swimming in the wall. He opened up his elytra and flew to the coast.

The server was huddled on a cliff. Grian sat right at the edge, Doc standing close behind him. Xisuma passed through the crowd and walked up behind them.

"Are you two okay?" He asked.

"You know what's going on, don't you?" Doc asked quietly.

"I do..." Xisuma confirmed. Doc nodded, eyes still fixated on the water. It was... A lovely color. Xisuma couldn't quite define it, but he wished he could recreate it for his everyday life. He turned away though and faced the server.

"There is actually nothing to worry about!" He announced with a laugh, "this is a simple misguided data pack! I wanted to make the ocean a tad deeper. Looks like we got more than that... None-the-less, I'll have it fixed and the water levels should return to normal with the next few weeks. I apologize for the inconvenience."

Grian felt his chest ache. He reached out and touched the silky water. This was it.

Two weeks later Doc and Grian stood looking out at the sun rise. There eyes were wide and there heart pounded. Grian barely sent Xisuma a message before his shaking hands dropped his communicator. Xisuma rushed over to the coast and his face dropped.

The water lapped at the golden sand. The sun radiated out of the shadows of the horizon. There was a rotting smell already swimming in the air. And on the horizon was... Something...

The mass was so large that even hundred of block away, it covered a large portion of the sky.

Xisuma didn't know what it was... But Grian and Doc did

A light blue shulker box filled with water breathing potions. Turtle helmets enchanted with water affinity. Armor with full protection. And not a word to the other hermits.

Since two days ago, the last time the two were at the shore, the wall of water rose even higher, casting a deep shadow over Doc and Grian. Grian readed out and touched the water. It was warm and smooth like silk. Doc could see little fish swim and take advantage of the new room. Some leered in the back of their minds. The Amorphous Ineffable was out there. Or maybe it wasn't. Maybe Scar something else, a squid or a... Um... A turtle? Those can be... Scary...

Neither of them stepped forward, even equipped with swords and tridents.

"Ladies first," Grian chuckled. Doc snorted, but neither of them were amused. They took out their first potion of water breathing and chugged it, stepping into the ocean.

They swam out further into the sea. Light glimmered down in beams around them. Fish swam and danced around them, and if they tried, they could pretend nothing was wrong at all. Though they could breath, they couldn't speak or hear well under water, so Doc just pointed down and Grian nodded.

They pushed down into the dark empty waters. After only descending a few meters, the fish disappeard and the squid swam freely.

That was when a black tentril reached up from the black to grab Doc. Grian grabbed Doc's arm, but both of them were dragged down at break neck speeds. Grian squeezed Doc's hand, but still he slipped. He managed to hold on until they were let go and let to float in the impossibly dark waters. Grian couldn't stop his breath from speeding up. Doc grabbed onto Grian and Grian hugged back, but they couldn't see each other. Until they could.

Blue light illuminated Doc and Grian's bodies as if a stadium spotlight was flicked on. They looked at the source and just barely made out that the spot lights were eyes. The slit pupil darted between the two, but it was so large the movement was barely perceivable.

Neither of them could tell what happened next, but they woke up, soaking wet on the shore where the ocean's wall had grown even taller.
