In which I revisit a childhood favorite book series in the worst possible way: playing the shovelware video game tie-in to the terrible movie version adaptation. A "magical" stream, indeed.

like Phantom Hourglass before it, Spirit Tracks is a very polarizing Zelda game – but even among people who like the DS Zeldas, i see lots of people who love one and hate the other. how is it that two fundamentally similar games can be so divisive?

i remember loving both as a kid for very different reasons... so after replaying Phantom Hourglass last year and loving it all over again, i'm more excited than ever to see if Spirit Tracks holds up too – especially to see where their strengths and weaknesses diverge.
