Tonight (7PM Central): let's close out Kirby and the Forgotten Land so that we have a clean slate for the new year! we'll be playing through the extra modes all in one sitting, tackling the game's toughest challenges. did you know that KatFL is the first time that these extra modes are canon to the series?
New Year's Eve Special (start time TBD): my family has a New Years tradition of playing Galaga until the ball drops – and this year, we'd like to share that tradition with you! @harmonyfriends and i will be on together until the clock rolls over at midnight Eastern (11PM Central). if you've got nowhere to go on New Year's Eve, come swing by and celebrate with us!

quick reminder for anyone who missed it that sunday's diddy kong racing finale stream is gonna be on saturday instead! since i'll be busy during the usual sunday afternoon slot
frogger 2 is getting postponed for one more week, but it's for VERY good reason...
in the meantime i'm gonna do a make-up stream on friday evening. help me decide which one-off to do:
2️⃣ sonic adventure 2 randomizer where all of the cutscenes and levels are thrown into a blender for incredible meme potential
3️⃣ marble roller game for the wii with a full 3d level editor, checking out me and my brother's frankly absurd constructions from 15 years ago
FRIDAY'S FEATURE STREAM: monkey balls to the walls, almost literally – i'm playing through some custom levels that my brother and i made over 15 years ago for an obscure Wii marble roller called Marble Saga: Kororinpa. my wrist hurts just thinking about it
this unassuming looking marble game features not only a full 3D level editor, but even the ability to roll up walls by tilting the Wii remote sideways. you bet your ass we abused the hell out of this mechanic in our levels… and every other mechanic in the game too.

so i've been thinking that tonight's stream might be a little short; there's only 20 custom level slots in Marble Saga and we'll likely get through them all in 60-90 minutes. so i've been trying to think of a good follow-up...
and i just had the perfect idea.
we're gonna turn Rivers into a puzzle.

SUNDAY'S STREAM SERIES: Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge – the sequel that my friends grew up with, but i've never played. will i love or hate the sequel's more linear game design? expect cartoonish death animations, FrogChamps, and some WEIRD ass cutscenes.

alright i think i know what we're playing on sunday: i have more old Mari0 levels.
in fact most people don't seem to know this, but i've had my hands in like a dozen (smaller) mappacks over the years! our next batch will be less WTF and more like... a journey through my growth as a level designer
This weekend's stream forecast (Feb. 22nd)
...is gonna be a weird one, cause i'm flying by the seat of my pants!
here's what i know for a fact:
i will be streaming both Splatoon 3: Side Order and Penny's Big Breakaway
i will be streaming both on Friday evening (7PM Central) and Sunday afternoon (3PM Central)
Side Order will begin first thing Friday evening
i am not sure what shape things will take after that!
it's possible i may do a double feature of both games on Friday evening and then continue Side Order on Sunday! it's also very possible that i will finish Side Order in one sitting on Friday evening and get to Penny's Big Breakaway on Sunday. or i might do something completely different, who knows?

...but i've been putting off the finale of Penny's Big Breakaway for quite long enough, so i'll be streaming it on tuesday evening instead!

like Phantom Hourglass before it, Spirit Tracks is a very polarizing Zelda game – but even among people who like the DS Zeldas, i see lots of people who love one and hate the other. how is it that two fundamentally similar games can be so divisive?
i remember loving both as a kid for very different reasons... so after replaying Phantom Hourglass last year and loving it all over again, i'm more excited than ever to see if Spirit Tracks holds up too – especially to see where their strengths and weaknesses diverge.
