My goal is to become fluent in Korean. I've been into Kpop since I was around 16-17 (I'm 20 now). And I'm in college to be a translator, but I haven't started any Korean classes until I transfer into a 4 yr university. Im a bit nervous because I'm worried no schools weil accept me to become a translator, and I'm scared I won't be able to become fluent. I thought of programs and other apps and even teaching myself. So far pimsleur has helped the most. Im scared of not becoming what I want to be and do. Im not that smart but I've made it through most of my 4 semesters (1 class left after this semester). I kinda just need some motivation, because I dont want to give up.

helping someone ≠ invalidating their pain, eg: ﹏ “it’s not that bad” ﹏ “others have it worse” ﹏ “you’re actually really lucky if you think about it” you don’t have to worry about worsening someone’s pain by acknowledging it, it’s actually the first step to offering real aid wherever that’s needed and giving them the opportunity to talk about it and feel safe doing so. if you want to help someone, avoid the aforementioned and instead try: ﹏ “let’s talk about it” ﹏ “i want to help you, would … be okay?” (for example; coming over, calling, going somewhere) ﹏ “i know you’re hurting and i’m here for you”

Here Are A Few Study Tips On How To Learn A New Language :

here are a few study tips on how to learn a new language 💻☺️:

1. start speaking as soon as possible. even when you haven’t learned too many words yet, the most important part of studying a language is not being afraid of using it. so download apps like hellotalk to get in touch with natives! of course, it’s even easier if you already have friends or family members speaking your target language.

2. study the most frequent words! there are tons of free so-called “frequency lists” online that prevent you from studying vocabulary you don’t need in the long run. with only 500 of the right words you could already have basic conversations!

3. get a lot of native exposure - through podcasts, videos and movies. there are so many recommendations on the internet, no matter what language you’re learning. the earlier you start immersing yourself in native material, even if it’s children’s books, the faster you’ll find yourself having fluent conversations!!

4. keep a weekly or daily diary to practice writing in your target language. even if it’s only composed of basic sentences, it’s the best way to use the vocabulary you’ve learned!

qotd: what language would you like to study next? i really look forward to studying Italian once I have a little bit more time!! 💕

Chrome extensions I actually use as a mentally ill university student

Making websites easier to digest:

Dark Reader - Changes any webpage to dark mode.

Mercury Reader - Simplifies the layout of any webpage to eliminate distractions and irritating formatting.

Podcastle AI - Turns any article into a podcast. This is a lifesaver for being able to process what I’m reading, to be honest.

Spelling/grammar:

LanguageTool - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who regularly type in more than one language.

Grammarly - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who only type in English. Can be used with LanguageTool installed, which is what I do.

Google Dictionary - Define any word on the webpage with a double-click.

Google Translate - Translate an entire webpage or even just a short segment.

Misc:

AdGuard Adblocker - After trying quite a few adblocker options, this is the one I find the best.

The Great Suspender - Automatically suspend inactive tabs to help with performance.

Honey - Try coupon codes automatically to save money on online purchases.

Built-in Chrome tab grouping - Group your tabs to keep organized and minimize distracting clutter.

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” & believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. -Rom 10:9
