Yes!! This is the kind of story I live for!
McGonagall causally mentions to Snape that they’re having trouble delivering Harry’s Hogwarts letter and complains about Petunia, who Snape had up until this point not realized was raising Harry. Snape politely excuses himself.
A few hours later Snape shows up at McGonagall’s house with Harry.
Snape: My house is full of dangerous potions supplies and my floo is open to too many Death Eaters so we’re living here till September. Meet your new grandson.

OMG!!! I just realized Snape was also injured in this scene! Like, just got bit by a massive dog kind of injured.
So either the sheer amount of adrenaline in his body numbed the pain enough for him to run across the castle and down 2 flights of stairs or he was in incredible pain and pushed through it to make sure everyone was okay... and still managed to be the second person in the room to help despite the fact that the other teachers had far more time to track down the troll and were uninjured.
I feel like nobody appreciates this. But I do! Snape is my grumpy hero.
I rewatch Harry Potter just for Alan Rickman's scenes.
Without a lot of the everyday snarky Snape i can clearly see his protectiveness over Harry.
One of my favourites is the Troll scene from The Philosopher's Stone. Snape comes running in like a madman, out of breath and annoyed to find he got all worried over nothing... Like a dad who's real tired of his kids doing stupid dangerous crap. He just angry cuz you made him scared.
This is my defense of Salazar Slytherin
Okay, so you know the whole people burning witches thing in the Harry Potter series?
Everyone seems to get all stuck up on the timeline. People who do some research realized it doesn't match up. Salazar was born in the very early 1800s, and the witch trials in england ended in the early 1700s.
This means that his parents or more likely, his grandparents were part of the people being hunted.
Another thing people argue is that the witch's didn't actually burn. They just screwed around with the muggles. However, after thinking for a while, I realized. The children. Magical children wouldn't have the skills or the discretion to hide their magic or protect themselves. It's likely that most of the wizarding community that actually died at the hands of muggles were children.
It's possible that his grandparents had siblings and friends as children who were burnt to death. It wouldn't be that far off to think Salazar Slytherin grew up hearing horror stories of young children being hunted and killed.
This would explain him being scared of and hating muggles and the children who grew up with muggles.
The basilisk could've just been for protection against intruders.
Or the entire legend could be speculation based on modern biases because history is wonky and legend are unreliable.
Please don't kill me. This is just a theory stemming from being tired of all Slytherins being evil.
This is so good!! ♥️🥰

Urgent mental support
I know right?! His hair might even be soft and wavy when it's treated properly!
And now I'm imagining Snape with frizzy hair... 😅😂
This thought has been plaguing me for a while now. I have to know. Snape's hair is described as oily but is it because he never/very rarely washed it or did he have naturally oily hair?
Someone get him better shampoo, he's not reaching his full hair potential.
