As you may know, my name is Mothana. I’m a twenty-two-year-old, trans, disabled person who struggles with monetary insecurity.
My endometriosis, HEDS, autism, and chronic pains make it difficult for me to work/find a place of employment, and I lack disability aid—I don't even have access to bus fare to get my meds regularly. I’ve also worn the same prescription glasses since September of 2018, but I cannot afford the $90 appointment — let alone $200 glasses.
All the symptoms of my disabilities have worsened over the last few years now, and my overall health is still steadily deteriorating.
It's been really hard to get any real financial support from the government as, in their eyes, my disabilities aren't severe enough. My disability applications have been denied three times as of now.
Currently, I desperately need a new glasses (I’ve worn the same pair for nearly five years) and disability aids specifically for my hyper mobility (pillows to aid with sleeping, splints and compression bandages for my joints. Pain medications.). I am desperate for any help at all.
I am asking for aid so I can function at even a fraction of what an abled body person can. I want to be able to take care of myself — go to work and make a living of my own. But I currently have everything against me.
