My heart breaks into millions of pieces whenever my brothers are able to send me pictures of the kids. Seeing their innocent smiles amidst all the suffering fills my family and I with as much courage as it does with pain. It's not merely the walls of the house they were supposed to grow up in that have been reduced to rubble; Precious irreplaceable moments of their childhood along with so many hopes and dreams have also gone up in smoke. Due to the ongoing genocide and constant dispalcement, they have been robbed of the simplest of joys like going to school or having fun at playgrounds, since all those supposedly safe spaces have been destroyed. Instead, they have to wait in endless lines for some polluted water, fend off insects and endure the unbearable heat in the tent. Not only that, but our children and newborns live in an unhealthy hazardous environment due to the piles of waste and filthy sewage water surrounding them leading to the spread of disease including all types of skin rash and bacterial and viral infections.

what makes it even worse is the shortage, if not total absence, of medical care, medicines, and hygiene pruducts.
Desdpite everything, my family have been trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for the children's sake. Some teachers in the camp set up a tent to help kids learn and forget their daily struggle, so my brother and sister have been taking my nephews and nieces there. It's not perfect but it made the little ones really happy. It is literally an ordeal to provide ingredients and even cook food every day. However, my family have been doing their best to make some treats for the children and also get them some stationery but it costs a fortune to buy the most basic items now in Gaza if they are ever available.

My family's day to day expenses keep increasing due to the blockade and skyrocketing prices. It cost them a packet (300 euros) to only buy the smallest gas bottle which they couldn't believe they could find in the first place. They have been using it sparingly since it's considered some type of luxury now. After losing my job and due to my own struggles in Germany, I haven't been able to provide for them as I used to so I was forced to send them donation money meant for their evacuation which does not seem very likely at the moment. That's why a great amount of the funds has been exhausted to help my family pay for their ever rising daily expenditures, and I had no choice but to increase the goal of the fundraiser from the thankfully raised €70000 to €100000.

cannot begin to imagine what would've become of everyone if it weren't for your generous support. Words fail to descibe how grateful I am to all of you. I sincerely wish I didn't have to but I have no other option but to ask for your help again. Every member in my family, especially the children and newborns, is in dire need of any contribution whether it is a reblog or donation. They are literally fighting for their very survival so please continue to help them get through this insufferable hardship as you always have. I truly trust you will 🙏

Another fundraiser I trust!
I think their words say this much better than I ever could: "We left our home, our cats, and all of our belongings behind. For ten days, we stayed in the health clinic belonging to UNRWA. When the Israeli tanks reached our location, just a street away, we were forced to leave again. We started to walk towards Rafah.
The road took three hours on foot. My sister has a mobility disability, and my father is elderly and suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes, and a previous injury to his foot and pelvis. It was a terrifying walk, especially hard for them to cover this distance. We were in a terrified state, with corpses on the ground, unable to look at them, knowing that we couldn’t let fear get to us. We have seen the horrors of this war. Despite that, we thank God we are alive."
Do not hesitate to help this family!

Shahed could be left behind soon.
You may have heard of Shahed (@shahednhall) - most likely through the recent racist smear campaigns taking stabs at her name in lack of anything concrete to validate their anti-Palestinian hatred.
But did you also know she's a photographer? Did you know she loves baking and fashion?

Photos from Shahed's instagram.
Did you know she is the primary caretaker of her five younger siblings, the youngest of which is a newborn? Did you know that she loves them more than anything?

Did you know her three sisters are sick with viral hepatitis due to the unsanitary conditions in Gaza?
Because of Shahed's love for them, she found the strength despite her own sickness and malnourishment to walk great distances while she was supposed to be sheltering from bombardment, to find internet access to raise funds to evacuate her sister so that they may seek medical care.
Because of that strength, she was able to raise enough funds for them, but if she doesn't reach the end goal of her campaign as soon as next week, she will be separated from her sisters.
As of this post, she has raised $65,561 out of $80,000. That is barely enough for her siblings and her father, who has a heart disease. That is not enough money for Shahed to go with them!
I implore you to make sure Shahed is not left behind. I implore you to get them out together as a family.

while i've shared her campaign before, today i'd like to direct your attention specially towards my friend Amal Ashour (@amalashuor / @moatasim20101010) and her family.
ten months ago, Amal was preparing to receive her master's degree in french language studies as she and her husband joyfully watched their little daughter Maryam grow, learn, and play as she neared her first birthday. now, they have been displaced several times and are barred from returning to their home. instead of happiness and celebration, Maryam turned one amidst unfathomable destruction.
fearing for her daughter and husband and wanting to continue her education, Amal is determined to obtain the funds they need to escape the genocide and provide Maryam with the safe childhood and bright future she deserves. so far, they have raised a little over €12,000 out of the €30,000 necessary for their evacuation, putting the campaign only about €3,000 from halfway to the goal.
if you have the means, i encourage you to give in whatever capacity you can to Amal and her family. if this isn't a possibility for you (or even if it is), then please share this post, one from Amal herself, or those of other users working to amplify her campaign. your contributions, whether material or not, go such a long way.
let's do all we can to help Amal, her husband, and precious Maryam reach their goal as quickly as possible!
(Amal's campaign is #175 on @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi's spreadsheet)
