The guild’s insistence in achieving a minimum guaranteed staff level for episodic TV was considered an extreme long-shot when the contract discussions began in March.
They achieved a new-model streaming residual formula that should help fellow striking union SAG-AFTRA in its quest to achieve a revenue-based residual. The WGA’s formula amounts to a bonus system based on pre-determined, high-bar performance benchmarks for individual titles. But it’s nonetheless more than industry dealmakers predicted the guild would secure when the first round of WGA-AMPTP talks began in earnest last spring.
The nitty-gritty details of language around the use of generative AI in content production was one of the last items that the sides worked on before closing the pact.

The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.
And on the scarier end of reality....
This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.
And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.
I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

That's the kind of survey that's used for official reports and for laws so it's super important that it has as many people taking it as possible. You can take it in every EU language. so SAG-AFTRA finally released some official guidance for fans, viewers, creators/influencers, critics, and more during the strike. here's what you need to know:
if you see a publication/news source/journalist talking about a piece of struck work, that's ok. they're allowed to do that.
2. they're asking regular viewers and fans to DONATE TO STRIKE FUNDS, SHOW UP TO PICKETS IF YOU CAN, and please do NOT boycott streaming services or movies in theaters.
3. influencers, content creators, cosplayers, and anything in between is still a bit of a grey area, but they're asking people to use their best judgement. "organically" means UNPAID promo (like an invite to a premiere without being paid, being sent a publicity box, letting the company's social media post a photo of you in cosplay, etc).
obviously this doesn't answer every question, and isn't hard and fast rules for fanworks, but it can at least inform how you personally choose to move forward when posting online and moving publically. i hope this helps!

Not that I make a ton of sales there, but it looks like I'll be eliminating my Redbubble account. Or rather, *because* I don't make a ton of sales.
They are introducing a new fee structure - aside from the manufacturing costs - that basically penalizes the people who make the *least*.
It caters very much to high-volume, high-sales accounts. Or it can just change when they feel like it, at any time.
Which is great, for people who make a lot. Not so great for people who are just starting out, or are struggling to get their name out there.
*They* decide if you're doing well enough to go up a level.
Anyway seems like it's not going to be worth it for anyone who doesn't have the time/resources/reach to impress them, and the whole "community guidelines" thing seems sketchy.
I get their point - they want people to make more money. But the amount the get for "manufacturing" the products is not insignificant. Adding a fee on top is just rude.

Kansas Republicans have been trying to massively restrict abortion in the state for years. In 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court ruled that they couldn’t, because the Kansas state constitution guarantees personal liberties. With the fall of Roe, the Kansas Republicans are now holding a state referendum that would allow them to over-rule their Supreme Court and introduce severe restrictions on abortion in the state. BUT they’re being sneaky about it. Because they know that if they put the referendum on the ballot in November, they might well lose. 60% of Kansas citizens oppose the kind of severe restrictions on abortion that the Republican legislature want to introduce. So instead of holding the referendum in November with the midterms, they’re holding it THIS TUESDAY, with the party primaries. The primary ballot that is typically reserved only for party members to select their candidate for the Novemeber midterms. Republican voters are far more likely to participate in August primaries in Kansas than Democrats are. Unaffiliated voters make up more than one-quarter of the state’s electorate, and usually have no reason to come to the polls during primaries. In TWO DAYS, the citizens of Kansas vote on abortion rights in their state, in an election that most of them don’t bother to take part in, take little interest in, and it’s highly likely that large numbers of them don’t even know there’s a special reason that THIS ONE TIME THEY REALLY NEED TO TAKE PART IN THE PRIMARY VOTING. On a day when they’re all at work. This is how Republicans rig the game. Over and over and over. If you know anybody who lives in Kansas, get the fucking word out. Let them know this isn’t the standard party primary, that they NEED TO VOTE. Because otherwise the Republicans will pass this unpopular bullshit with the approval of a tiny minority of Christian evangelicans.

If you are in a red state, your state either has an abortion ban in place or is rated by the Guttmacher Institute as likely to enact a ban. Your focus should be on protecting yourself and others who need abortions.
stop using electronic period tracking apps or software
educate yourself and others about pregnancy prevention and join groups that are making preventative birth control more accessible
learn the nearest and most accessible routes to states where you and your loved ones can access abortion
contribute to mutual aid funds to help transport people over state lines if they are in need of abortion
consider joining The Satanic Temple so you can claim protections under the Religious Abortion Ritual if you are prosecuted for obtaining an abortion
keep a stock of by-mail abortion pills for yourself and/or others who may need them (you may need to travel out of state to obtain them)
form community provider networks and see if you or someone you know can be trained to use manual vacuum aspiration kits or a Del-Em
all of the above should be done in complete secrecy using verbal communication, end-to-end encrypted apps such as Signal, or a VPN
If you are in a yellow state, you currently have constitutional abortion protections but they are in jeopardy. Get active in local political groups NOW to fight back against constitutional amendments to ban abortion. Your focus should be purely on political action.
If you are in Michigan, you currently have a ban in place which is being challenged, and your governor is working to add abortion protections into the Michigan state constitution. Your focus should be on supporting the work that is currently under way.
If you are in a green state, your state has constitutional protections for abortion that are unlikely to be challenged. Your focus should be on helping others to enter your state for abortion care.
connect with abortion access groups such as Aid Access, Abortion on Demand, the National Network of Abortion Funds, or Just The Pill
volunteer to help people enter your state for abortion care, either with transportation help or letting someone crash on your couch
if you live in a green state with no current or predicted primary routes from other states for abortion access, you can focus your efforts on supporting political action in other areas
If you are in a purple state, your state currently has no constitutional protections for abortion but is unlikely to implement a ban. You have two focuses: pushing for constitutional protections AND helping others to enter your state for abortion care (see green state list).
