â No peaking, Y/n,â Buckyâs voice echoed in the darkness.Â
â Even if I did peak I wouldnât be able to see anything,â you pointed out. Reminding your boyfriend of the blindfold he had placed over your eyes minutes prior to entering this unknown building. One he had assured you he was given full access to due to a friend of a friend. Whatever that meantâyou didnât question it.Â
Buckyâs footsteps approached you, â Still, no peaking.â He insisted once more, a kiss swiftly landing on your forehead. You extended your hands out, feeling the air hoping to land on Bucky. You missed only slightly, as he was already walking away to who knows where.
You were restless waiting to find out what surprise Bucky had planned for you. Surprises were a rarity in your relationship, but Bucky seemed particularly excited over this one.Â
â You can take the blindfold off, but donât move yet!â Bucky instructed, raising his voice loud enough to reach you. You did as told and removed the blindfold from your eyes. The room around you was pitch black, to the point where you could barely make out the outline of your own hands. You wouldnât be able to move an inch without knowing what lay in front of you.Â
Maybe it was best you listened to Bucky and stayed right where you were. Â
You perked up at the whirring of a machine, confusion etching on your face. Your eyes darted around in the darkness trying to find the source of the sound. Suddenly, an almost thunderous noise erupts from above you and then a flash of light appears.Â
Your hands go up to shield your eyes as you blink rapidly to adjust to the change of light in the room. It takes them a second to adjust, and once they do you lower your hands to find what the source of the light was. The moment you locate it you are rendered speechless.Â
Above you was a sea of stars. The bright twinkling celestial bodies were dancing in the dark blue almost purple sky. You had never seen the stars so clearly before in your life. Living and growing up in New York City made that an impossible sight to witness.Â
â You always complain about not being able to see the stars at night, and with work, we barely get to take a breather and watch them anywhere else, so I thought I could bring the stars to you,â Bucky spoke up. You broke away from the sky to find Bucky in the center of the roomâone you had deduced was the showroom of a planetarium.Â
You were in awe of your boyfriend. He was standing next to a blue and white checkered blanket that held an array of containers and a basket on top of it. The ceiling above began to morph into different galaxies casting the most beautiful hues around the room.Â
Bucky had arranged a picnic under the stars for your date night.Â
Overcome with emotion, you rushed over to Bucky and engulfed him in a hug. He returned it enthusiastically, his chest reverberating with a chuckle,â Do you like it, Doll?â He asked, pulling away slightly to look you in the eye.
â Bucky, I love it,â you assured him before bringing him in for a deep kiss. He returned it with as much passion, his hand pulling you in closer by the nape of your neck.Â
After a minute, Bucky pulled away reluctantly, â I could kiss you all night, but the foodâs gonna get cold if I do.â He laughed at the pouty look on your face before pulling you over to the picnic blanket. You would be lying if you said you werenât dying to try whatever smelled so good in the basket.Â
You sat down, cross-legged across from each other. Only a few inches were separating your bodies, the sky above you still rotating from one sea of constellations to the next. Bucky was setting up the food to the left of you, which happened to be an arrangement of different tea sandwiches all seemingly of different kinds with a fruit salad as a side.Â
â My Ma used to make these all the time. I tried making them just like she used to,â he explained, uncorking a bottle of wine for you to share. Bucky wasnât a wine kind of guy, but he knew how much you enjoyed a glass, and the specific brand he bought was your favorite. Knowing that Bucky took his time to make and plan all this for the two of you warmed your heart. You would never get to meet his mother, and yet you felt as though with him sharing this piece of his past with you, you were meeting a part of her.Â
You and Bucky had been dating for six months, and before that, you had been mission partners for about a year. There was a lot you got to know about each other during that time, however, anything that had to do with Buckyâs childhood was rarely touched upon. You knew it was a difficult subject to dive into, knowing everything that Bucky had gone through to be here with you now. You never brought it up, knowing that whatever Bucky was willing to open up to you about, he would do so at his own time.Â
You broke away from your thoughts as Bucky handed you a glass of wine, â Feel free to grab as much as you want,â he motioned over to all the food. You smiled, taking the glass from his hand,â Thank you, Bucky, this is beyond wonderful.â A sheepish smile overtook his features, â Anything for you, Y/n.â You knew deep in your heart he truly meant that.Â
For the next half hour or so you both relished in the food and breathtaking sights above you. You shared a few stories from your life, all involving the many adventures you went on during high school, which stemmed from many risky and stupid decisions. Bucky shared his own stories of his antics on missions with Sam and Steve all from before you joined the Avengers. All in all, you were getting more glimpses of each other lives and becoming even closer as a result.Â
Bucky broke from the conversation and directed your attention back to the stars where they were now falling in streaks of white light. The screen was projecting a meteor shower in a navy blue sky. You were entranced by the beauty of it when one meteor caught your attention in particular. Instead of falling down in the same path as the rest of the meteors, it was dashing across the screen before disappearing into nothing.Â
You glanced over at Bucky who wasnât phased by it and continued to look at the meteor shower. You decided to not think much of it and looked back up at the sky again. However, this time there wasnât just one meteor going in a different direction, now there were multiple. Â
They dashed up and down, left and right, all across the sky. Your eyes did their best to follow the meteors around the screen until you noticed there was a reason for their insanity. They were spelling out something in the sky. Different parts of the words lit up at different times until all at once they displayed themselves on the screen.Â
I Love You.
A small gasp escaped your lips. Bucky and you had not said those words to each other yet. You both showed how much you cared for one another through actions rather than words. There was no doubt between you that there was love hereâit was only that neither of you had said it out loud.Â
You met eyes with Bucky, the constellations above reflecting brightly in his eyes. â I know it was a showy way to say it, but I love you, Y/n. I shouldâve said it sooner, butââ you stopped him right there with a kiss.Â
â I love you too, Bucky. You donât have to justify anything, this was perfect,â you broke away to speak your mind before pressing your lips against his once more. He grabbed your waist and maneuvered you over to straddle his lap, your hands finding their way to his hair. As every second passed, the intensity between you increased.Â
You showed each other how much you loved one another for the rest of the night with only the stars bearing witness.Â

âľ Prequel Drabble //Â âľ Part IÂ
â§ŕźşâĄŕźťâăăâŕźşâĄŕźťâ§
You tossed and turned in your bed once more, the sunlight peeking through your blinds, disturbing your sleep. The events of last Saturday weighed heavy on you. So much so, that you hadnât gone to work in the past two daysâtoday would be the third. You claimed you came down with the flu, putting on the best performance you could when Natasha called you. You were never able to lie to her face, but over the phone wasnât as hard. Eventually, however, you would have to go back.Â
Eventually, you would have to face him.Â
Bucky called you a few times that night after you deserted him at the fair. The guilt set in almost immediately and you were too ashamed to answer him. You managed to read one message before silencing all of the notifications on your phone.
Can you at least let me know you got home safely?

Lucky Day

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader (College AU)
Summary: Bucky, your childhood best friend, takes you to a baseball game to thank you for helping him with his chemistry class. However, between bets and kiss cams, luck seems to be the real game being played.Â
Word Count: ~800
Warning(s):Â nothing really itâs just a whole lot of fluffÂ
a/n: Here is a little fluffy drabble Iâve had in my drafts for quite some time. â¤ď¸ Likes, comments, and reblogs are appreciated!! đÂ
â§ŕźşâĄŕźťâăăâŕźşâĄŕźťâ§
â Y/n, I caught it!â Bucky yelled grinning from ear to ear. Cheers erupted from the seats around you as he waved the baseball he caught in the air. â Thereâs no way,â you grumbled staring at the baseball Bucky was twirling around in his hands. You placed a bet with Bucky earlier on whether or not he would catch one of the stray baseballs from the game. He would routinely complain about coming here and never catching one, so you thought this would be a good opportunity to make a few extra dollars. Unfortunately, for your bank account, luck was on his side today.Â
You reached into your wallet and took out a twenty, handing it to him annoyed at your loss, âHere.â Bucky was grinning smugly as he took the money from your hand, a twinkle of satisfaction in his eyes, â Maybe youâre my good luck charm, Y/n. You should come to these games more often with me.â You glared at him playfully,â And have to do more of your chemistry homework? No thanks.â He laughed at that, stealing a cheesy nacho from the container on your lap.
â Not chemistry. Next time itâll be algebra.âÂ
   â In your dreams, Barnes.âÂ
â Oh, so weâre on last-name terms now? Well, L/n, to cheer you up Iâll buy you some of that cotton candy you wanted. Although, technically, youâll be buying it,â he cheekily remarked calling over one of the snack vendors and buying a pink fluff of candy floss with the twenty you just gave him. He handed it to you and you gladly took it,â Whatever, Barnes,â you replied holding back a grin. It was nice to see how excited Bucky was to have finally caught a baseball from his favorite team. You knew he wanted one for a long time, and no doubt would stay after just to try and get it signed by his favorite players.
Even though you lost the bet, you were glad you came to the game with him. You usually donât come to outings like these as youâre usually busy with coursework and Bucky tends to invite Steve or Sam to these kinds of things. However, when he was falling behind in chemistry, you helped him complete some assignments and study for an exam he ended up acing thanks to your tutoring. Tutoring is not your specialty, but when the request came from your childhood best friend, there was no way you could say no. You canât remember the last time you genuinely said no to Bucky.  Â
The people in the seats surrounding you suddenly started to get rowdy breaking you from your thoughts. You scanned the stadium confused as to what everyone was getting animated over. You knew there was a current break in the game, so it couldnât be that. Hearing the romantic music being played over the speakers brought your attention to the giant screen in the stadium. Your heart skipped a beat as soon as you saw who was on it.Â
   It was you and Bucky.Â
There the two of you were on the jumbotron with the words âKISS CAMâ plastered on the screen surrounded by a scatter of red hearts. You froze in your seat never been put in a position like this. You felt the heat rise to your cheeks as the people around you encouraged the two of you to kissâincluding the announcer. You werenât a stranger to any sort of public displays of affection, but this was something else in its entirety.Â
â Y/n, you know we donât have to do this. Theyâll just switch to another couple. Relax,â Bucky spoke up from beside you, his voice gentle and kind. He must have noticed how nervous you had gotten as soon as you two showed up on that screen. You turned to him, the word couple bouncing around your mind with mixed emotions. However, as soon as you locked eyes with him the emotions were no longer mixed.Â
   You wanted to kiss him.
This came as no surprise to you, and most likely no surprise on his part either. There was a constant flirtatious dynamic between you and almost everybody you knew assumed you were a couple. Itâs not like they would be wrong to assume that since there were a few times you almost crossed the line between friend and lover, however, neither of you ever took the step to fully cross it. Stolen glances, lingering hugs, and near kisses were no strangers in your friendship.
â But I want to,â your voice came out quieter than you expected, and yet Bucky had heard you. His demeanor changed from earlier, a hopeful yet almost shy look overtook his face. A sheepish grin replaced the confident one from earlier as the reality of what could and would most likely happen, set in.
â You sure?â He asked coming in closer, his right hand taking your left in his as a comforting gesture. You were so entranced by the moment you only managed to nod your head before he leaned over and kissed you. You kissed back, your right hand dropping the cotton candy and instinctively holding onto his cheek. As the stadium erupted with cheers, he used the hand that was holding yours to pull you in closer by the waist.
Today turned out to be a lucky day for both of you.Â
In Five Years

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Enhanced!ReaderÂ
Summary:Â Bucky was having a hard time expressing his feelings about finally being free from the Winter Soldier program. To help him out, you suggested writing a letter to his future self and burying it in a time capsule to visit this moment again in the future. The plan was to open the time capsule five years from now. That was until Thanos showed up.
Word Count:Â 4.9k
Warning(s): Follows the ending of Infinity War (if you know you know ;-;) / canon level of violence in the MCU / major character âdeathsâ / angst / mentions of blood & injury & death
a/n: This fic is a submission for the love letters writing challenge being held by the lovely @pellucid-constellationsâ. Thank you so much for reading! âĄ
â§ŕźşâĄŕźťâăăâŕźşâĄŕźťâ§
â Stop fidgeting around. Youâre going to throw off the readings.â Shuri held your legs in place on the table. She wasnât being forceful, but you knew better than to mess up any of the readings. The last person who did was pranked by Shuri for weeks.Â
â Sorry. I just have a lot on my mind.â You explained briefly, not wanting to dive into the subject. You werenât sure you and Shuri were alone. You didnât want to risk the wrong person or even the right person, hearing your conversation.Â
â He will be fine. I have been deprogramming him for months now. The Winter Soldier is a thing of the past,â her tone was definite. You tried to find comfort in her words, but you couldnât. You wished to be there by his side right now. You knew it wasnât your place to impose yourself on such an important matter, but you couldnât help it. You worried about him all the time.Â
   You cared for him.Â
More than you have for anyone else.Â
