after feeling left out for what feels like forever i finally gave in and read manacled. Maybe its because I never liked dramione but I don’t understand the hype.

Hermione, to me is a very fierce, strong character in the canon, both mentally and physically. draco on the other hand isn’t. Stripping hermione of everything she is, making her weak and vulnerable, while perfect for the plot, isn’t something i enjoy reading. it’s not that i don’t believe she could see the good in draco it’s just that i don’t like seeing a strong female character torn down to basically nothing just so she can work romantically with draco. I am no stranger to reading enemies to lovers, i used to only ready drarry years ago, however this just seemed so impossible to me.

I really gave this book a chance, i wanted to like it, i wanted to love it just like everyone else. I didn’t like jegulus before reading crimson rivers so i thought this would be the same but i just couldn’t understand why everyone was so obsessed with this book and especially draco and hermione together. none of their moments were as romantic to me as described by others, i didn’t cry, didn’t care for their love story really. his back story to avenge his mother felt almost cheap and the way the fled in the end, simply cutting of his arm felt rushed and forced and not as well thought out as other parts of the book.

i don’t regret reading it, i simply don’t see what others see in it and i wonder if anyone else feels this way.
