You’re telling me that James didn’t love Lily and Harry enough to evoke the ancient love magic that Lily saved Harry with?

He loved both of them so much that he literally died trying to give them a chance to escape and that wasn’t enough?

I don’t buy it.

The only semi-logical explanation I can come up with is that he didn’t have his wand and maybe you can’t do something like that wand-less but did Lily have her wand?

Even then we’re talking about a guy who literally became an illegal animagus at the ripe age of 15.

He also loves and cares for people so deeply and it was LOVE MAGIC.

Look me in the eyes and tell me James Potter couldn’t have just saved BOTH of them without his wand.

Exactly, you can’t.

Honestly I could go on about all of the reasons James and Lily dying didn’t even make sense.

This is just another thing that makes me question why they died the way they did.

Them dying on an order mission would’ve been more realistic. There were just too many plot holes in them dying in Godric’s Hollow.

In conclusion, the ending of the first war didn’t make sense. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Guys this post is not that serious I just mean that everything about what happened that night and the explanation for all of it felt like a stretch and kinda vague to me 😭

Even with the stuff about James not having a choice. Like yeah Voldemort didn’t verbally give him the option to back off but James still made the choice to try and hold him off.

Also James was a Pureblood and Voldemort made it known that he would spare them if they didn’t fight him because his whole thing was blood purity.

So like the “Lily was given a choice” still feels so vague to me.

Also Voldemort making the promise to Snape feels weird. Snape asked him not to kill Lily but Voldemort said that he wouldn’t as long as she didn’t get in his way. And Lily did get in his way of killing Harry so he didn’t break that promise by killing her.

Yeah he probably could’ve just knocked her out or something but he still didn’t break any promises.

And the whole reason Snape joined Dumbledore before the end of the first war is because he didn’t think Lily would just let Voldemort kill her son. He didn’t make an unbreakable vow or anything so Snape knew that Voldemort would probably kill Lily.

Marauders brainrot is sitting in a theatre waiting for a production of HSM to start but then Best Friends Brother comes on and your cousin knows the song because she watched the show but you know it because of late 2021/early 2022 jegulus era and as you’re trying to find a place to sit the angsty edits come flooding back and suddenly you’re thinking “is this a sign from the universe that I should reread Best Friend’s Brother?”

Imagine Sirius at Grimmauld the summer after first year looking back at his yearbook because he misses all of his friends.

Now imagine him seeing all the “Have a good summer!”s and giggling and kicking his feet because he is in fact NOT having a good summer.

Once again thinking about “Mr. Tell me a fucking secret” because if I was Sirius I would have NEVER recovered from that argument.

Like I completely understand Remus not wanting to talk about his life all the time. That’s totally valid but why was getting mad at him the way he chose to communicate that to Sirius 😭

Sirius was literally just encouraging him to get his hip checked out because Remus said it had been sore since he was THIRTEEN

Guys, you know the whole “James’ type is people who are mean to him” thing?

I think it’s because they make him feel like a real person.

I am forever pushing the “James struggles with feeling like a real person agenda” and I think that initially Lily/Regulus genuinely didn’t like him as a person and that is what made him initially attracted to them. James is one of those “everyone loves him, he’s a literal ball of sunshine” people. But James is nothing if not a people pleaser so he’s always trying to be someone that people like and sometimes he’s not sure that the person he is, is real or just an act.

But they don’t like the person that he shows everyone (because they can subconsciously feel that something is off with James). And no one (excluding Snape and people he doesn’t like because he’s not performing for them) has ever told James that they don’t like him.

So he tries to win both of them over but it doesn’t work because he’s trying to win them over with this not-real-person side of himself and he only wins them over once they see the real James. So by not liking this fake person and seeing through his mask they’re inadvertently helping him learn how to be himself and not be putting on a show all the time.

Sometime during class

Sirius: psst

Remus:

Sirius: Moony!

Remus:

Remus: what do you want?

Just listened to the lyrics specifically of Bohemian Rhapsody and 0/10 would not recommend. Absolutely awful. If you kin Sirius Black AT ALL do yourself a favor and never go with 500 feet of that song because it is rough. TCOPTP Sirius had every right to start sobbing the first time he heard it because it’s genuinely horrific.

Give me Sirius Black who knew he liked Remus romantically. Who wanted to say something but was stopped by an overwhelming fear of rejection because that was what he’d known all his life (courtesy of his parents).

Sirius knew he liked Remus but anytime someone asked him how he felt he would deny it because he was terrified that it would get back to Remus and it would ruin their relationship forever.

Give me Sirius who knew how he felt about Remus but was scared of it. Scared because he’d been told it was wrong. Scared that Remus would think so too.

Sirius was scared because what Remus thought mattered. He wanted Remus to approve of him. He was scared Remus wouldn’t look at him the same way anymore.

Give me Sirius who was denying his feelings for Remus from himself too. He knew that he was in love but he wouldn’t allow himself to think it because then it would be real.

Sirius was denying his feelings to himself because he didn’t want to feel that way. He just wished he could be normal.

"Merlin moony! Just tell her already!" James groaned from his bed as he stared at Remus who was practicing his lines.

Yep. Remus is finally gonna tell his girlfriend for one year that he is a werewolf. Why? because he couldn't handle lying to her anymore.

"But what if she thinks I'm a monster? What if she breaks up with me?" Remus rambled. Sirius rolled his eyes.

"Moony, if she loves you then she wouldn't leave you just because you're a werewolf" Sirius shrugged, placing the cigar on his bedside table.

"But what if—" James threw a pillow on Remus, cutting him off.

"Just go!" Remus glared at James once more and left the dorm.

Once they heard the door close. James looked at Sirius.

"You think she already knows?" He asked.

Sirius snorted. " No, I know that she already knows"

They both laughed out loud and started continuing talking about quidditch.

Remus walked out of the common room to the black lake where he asked Y/n to meet him.

Once he saw a familiar Y/h/c girl sitting down on the big rock nearby the water, he ran up to her, heart beating fast.

Y/n turned around to see Remus catching his breath, his hand over his heart, calming down himself.

"H-hey Y/n" Remus greeted with a peck on a cheek.

"Hello Rem, what's up?" Y/n asked, patting down the rock, gesturing for him to sit.

Here it goes. "Y/n I have to tell you something"

Y/n furrowed her eyebrows. "Okay? What is it?"

When he didn't reply and just stared at her, she gasped.

"Are you breaking up with me? Have I been too clingy? Or was it the cookies I gave you? Did it taste bad?"

"No— wait what cookies?" Remus stammered.

"The cookies I gave to Sirius and James to give it to you" Y/n replied. Remus rolled his eyes and cursed under his breath.

"Damn those bastards"

Y/n's eyes widen. "They ate it, didn't they?

Remus nodded slowly. Y/n let out a groan.

"I knew I shouldn't have trusted them with your cookies!" Y/n grumbled.

Hating seeing his girlfriend upset, Remus spoke. "Maybe you can make me some later? yeah? In the kitchen?"

"Okay!" Y/n smiled happily.

"Now, I-I have to tell you something?" Remus said, getting back to the topic that made his heartbeat so fast.

Y/n mentioned him to go on.

"I'm a werewolf" He whispered. Y/n looked at him blankly before widening her eyes.

"Ohh oh my god, you are? That's horrible!" She exclaimed. Remus looked at her carefully and sent her a unimpressed look.

"You knew, didn't you?" He scoffed.

"Yeah, for a month now" She replied, smiling sheepishly.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked softly.

Y/n sighed. "Well I thought that you weren't comfortable yet to tell me so I kept my mouth shut"

"You're not scared?" Remus asked, hesitantly.

"No of course not! If anything, I think it's cool" She assured him.

"You're still my Remus, even when you turn into a werewolf every full moon" She cupped his cheeks and caressed him softly.

"I love you, so god damn much Y/n Y/L/N" Remus kissed her palm as he said that.

Y/n giggled. "And I love you so god damn much too, Remus Lupin."
