𝄆𝄞 Late January, 2013 𝄇
I wrap my scarf loosely around my neck and step out of the house. I stare down at the familiar path of bricks under my feet as I walk to school. The sky is the same shade of gray and despite the brisk wind, there are no leaves on the trees to be rustled.
When I get to school, I sit down at the back of the room and pull out my book to read. My classmates bicker around me but I don't look up, lest I be reminded of my own loneliness. I shut my book tightly once the bell rings, noticing someone sitting only a few desks in front of me. It was Namjoon. I had liked him since around November but learned better than to get my hopes up. He wouldn't even be friends with someone like me. It's not that he was necessarily popular, but he did have some friends. I rarely spoke, so he most likely didn't know my name.
Lessons began and I tried to keep myself from staring. It isn't like anyone would really notice though, as I am in the back corner. It's better if I don't encourage myself and just suppress these feelings like I always have.
Soon enough my classes are over and I'm walking back home. As I go, I notice two girls around my age chatting with each other. They're laughing and seem to be having such a good time, I can't help but feel envious. I haven't had a best friend like that in such a long time. I only start to feel worse listening to what they're saying.
"I know! Taehyung really is so hot... if only he'd notice me!"
"Yeah, but have you seen his friend? What was his name..."
"Namjoon?"
"Yes! He's in one of my classes, I want to get to know him"
"You should!"
"But what do I say?"
"Don't worry about it! I'm sure he likes you back anyway"
"I hope so"
I keep my head down and continue walking. Still, their words get to me. They were both so pretty...oh course he'd go for someone more like them. I'm confident in who I am. Really. It's just that Namjoon is nothing like me. He has plenty of friends and admirers, all of them do. He is going to date someone in his social circle, like them.
Once I get home I grab some banana milk from the fridge and sit down at my desk. Pulling out a pen, I work on my manuscript.
𝄆𝄞 Namjoon POV𝄇
"What's her name?"
I turned to my friend Hoseok and smiled.
"y/n"
"Wait... how long have you had a crush on her?"
"Since spring last year, around April"
"It's almost been a whole year!" Jungkook whined, "why are you only telling us this now?"
"I was nervous! I haven't even talked to her..."
I looked up at my friends who were shocked by my confession. Finally, Jimin spoke up:
"You need to make a plan soon if you ever want her to notice you. You're both graduating this year, remember?"
"I know, but what do I even say to her? She's just so... so perfect. I don't want to ruin any chance I have by saying something stupid"
"Well, you've liked her for this long. Do you know of anything she likes?" Taehyung questioned.
"Hmmm, she's really intelligent. She also really likes books, every time I see her she's reading one. Would that work? Should I try talking to her about that?"
They seemed to approve of that. After talking for a bit longer, I went home and made a plan. Tomorrow I will try talking to her before class starts.
𝄆 𝄞 𝄇
The next day I got up earlier. I walked to class and didn't get distracted talking to people. I was determined. I didn't realize until I settled down in my seat that there were still over fifteen minutes before homeroom would start.
After waiting for only a few minutes, she walked in. She took my breath away, though she was just wearing our school uniform. I started fiddling with my hands under my desk, the nerves getting to me. Slowly I stood from the desk and approached her.
"Um... hi" I mumbled.
She glanced up from her book and immediately her eyes widened. She opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out. Did I upset her?
"I just uh.... Wanted to know what book you're reading?"
"Oh." She hesitated, "it's just... something I found in the library. It's in a series actually"
"Nice. Sounds good"
She nodded and looked back down to the pages.
"...maybe I'll check it out"
With that I returned to my seat, hoping it wasn't too obvious how flustered I was. That was my first time actually talking to her! It was so awkward though... Does she not like me? Was something I said wrong? She seemed so indifferent.
𝄆𝄞 Y/N POV𝄇
I stared down at my book but unable to focus at all. What was that? Did my crush actually just talk to me? What is happening?
I sigh to myself. He probably just likes reading too, and wanted to know what book it was. I'm sure it's nothing personal, he doesn't even know my name. Still, a part of me feels excited, like maybe I have a chance.

Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH4 - The Fan Meet

Y/N POV:
"TA DA!! I got you a ticket to the fan meet!" He beams.
"WAIT WHAT?" I grab on to the ticket and examine it closely. Yep, this is definitely official. I gasp, "How did you even get one of these?? They only announced it just last night!"
"You know how the Armys are. You have to buy them quick before they sell out. But don't worry about that! You get to meet Jin!" He mentioned.
"You're right!" I exclaimed, "wait.. what will I say to him? How should I dress? Should I wear makeup, or no? What if he doesn't like me? What id I trip and-"
"Shh, shh," He breathed, "It'll be fine. I'm sure he'll love you. Why would he hate his fans? Just be yourself."
At his words, I calmed down, "You're right, just have to be myself."
"But when you get back you are telling me every detail, got it?" He held out his pinkie.
"Promise!"
———————————
Eventually the day of the fan meet came. I lightly curled my hair and put on some makeup. I wore a blush pink dress with gold detailing. Grabbing my bag, I got on the bus to drive to the venue.
Once I got there, long lines were crowding around the building. I got in line where I was supposed to and waited. Some people were talking and making friends, but I focused on what I was going to say once I got there.
JIN POV:
"Just 5 more minutes guys!" One of the staff called out to us.
"I'm so excited!!" Jimin cheered, "It's always so much fun to meet our fans. They're so sweet!"
"I heard you invited someone this time, Hyung." Jungkook turned to me.
"Yeah. A friend."
"Oooh who is it?" Hoseok teased.
"Are they a girl?" Taehyung asked.
"Yes, she's a girl. She's just a friend I've made recently and she happens to like our music." I replied.
"Are you her bias? Do you like her?" Taehyung continued to pester.
"It doesn't matter!" I yelled, "...but maybe"
"Maybe you're her bias or maybe she likes you??" Jungkook joined in.
"Guys! It's time to get out there!" The same staff member called.
I smoothed out my shirt as we walked onto the small stage. Looking out at the crowd, I tried to find her face. I didn't see her. Right as I was beginning to worry, I noticed her huddled in the corner, an overwhelmed look on her face. Cute, I thought.
After some short announcements from the other members, we began the signing. One by one fans came to the table and talked with us. Eventually it was Y/N's turn. She lingered towards the table.
The first member at the table was Namjoon. They talked for a bit and he must've made a joke, because she broke out into snickers. He signed her album and passed it on to Hoseok.
Inside I was burning with jealousy, but I tried to hide it from the fan in front of me. They're all excited to be here, I have to give them all a good show. Still, she's MY friend. I invited her here, but now all the other members are getting to talk to her.
Hoseok finishes signing her album and passes it on to me. She nervously walks over, but on the way she trips over her shoelaces. Luckily she was able to catch herself, but I know that must have really hurt her pride. I remember her saying she was worried about that...
"Ah.., I'm so sorry," She mumbled, her face as red as my shirt.
"Woah, you're so pretty. Is this my fan meet or yours?" I joked.
She laughed at that, "gosh, I seem to embarrass myself every time I meet you, don't I?"
"Please, don't worry about it. It's adorable." I said. The words left my mouth before I even realized. Shoot! Don't be so obvious about it, Seokjin! What are you saying!
If she wasn't blushing before, she was now. The other fans are starting to wrap up their conversations. She rushed to a page in the photo book for me to sign.
"Er- what is your name?" I ask.
"Y/N." She smiles.
Uncapping the marker, I began writing:
Dear Y/N,
Thank you so much for listening to our music and coming to the signing today! Your support means the word to us. I'd like to see you again. Wanna meet at Lotte World this Saturday at 10:00 am?
I'll be waiting for you,
Your Jinnie
I close the book and pass it back to her. She smiles, and I notice the glitter present both in her eyeshadow and her outfit. She looks so sparkly, but she does even when she's wearing worn out jeans and a sweatshirt at the store. No matter where she is or what she's doing, she never fails to make my heart flutter. It's been three months since I first met her, I need to tell her at some point.
Y/N, I really like you.
The Concert {SUGA} pt. 2
Before we could leave the venue, two guards called us backstage. As we were headed to what we assumed was meeting the members more formally, I became nervous.
"What if this doesn't work out?" I blurted to Stacy.
"What? Our soulmates?"
"I mean," I sighed, "what if he doesn't want me? I can't even speak Korean, and he's busy enough as it is..."
"Who wouldn't want to be with their soulmate?" Stacy questioned.
"I don't know! What if he doesn't?" I panic.
"I'm sure that-"
We're interrupted by the guards telling us we'd arrived at the room. Stacy went in first, exchanging a shy hello with Jimin. I followed timidly behind. Just a few steps in the door, and before I'd even looked up I was enveloped in a warm embrace.
"I'm so happy you're here" Suga mumbled into my shoulder, "I've missed you, even though I'm only just meeting you."
I blushed so hard in that moment, unable to say anything. Just as I was about to pull away he tightened the hug.
"Y-you aren't upset?" I muttered.
He pulled away, gently holding my shoulders. His dark eyes searching mine, "Why would I ever be upset?"
"w-well you are busy with your job, and a significant other would just be a distraction, and I don't even speak Korean-"
"Shhh shh" he said, "a language barrier isn't enough to separate us. And don't call yourself a distraction, you don't know how long I've been waiting to meet you."
"Seriously, he's been moping for months now about how nervous he was he'd never get to meet you" Jimin laughed.
"Don't act like you haven't been doing the same thing" Yoongi said.
I giggled and looked back at Yoongi, being greeted by his smiling face.
———————
"Are you nervous?"
"Hmm, nervouscited" I laugh.
Me and Stacy were packing up our shared apartment. We were going to South Korea. Did we know much Korean? No. Were we going to practice on the plane before we got there? Probably not. But we were definitely excited to see our soulmates. Or should I say Seoulmates.
Yoongi and Jimin were only able to stay for another day before they had to continue the tour. Yoongi called me every day though, and we texted all the time. I don't think I've seen so many notifications on my phone ever. We planned it all out, and today was the day.
We got on the plane, taking one last glance at our city.
"Do you think we'll like it there?"
"Hm?" Stacy says, looking up from a selca Jimin sent her.
I laugh and begin reading my book. It's not long before I receive a text:
Yoongi ❤️: Can't wait to see you!!
————————
We knock on the door, it swinging open almost immediately. Stacy walks inside while Yoongi comes out into the hallway. He picks me up and spins me in a hug.
"I haven't seen you in forever! I missed you so much" He pouts.
I grin, "What, even with our daily calls and hundreds of texts?"
"It's still not enough..."
I smile and pull him back in.
After greeting the members a bit, I became too tired to focus properly. I slept hardly at all on the flight, mostly stressed out about being in a new country and knowing no one. I try to hide my yawn, but unfortunately Yoongi notices.
"Are you tired?" He asks.
"No! No I'm okay" but I can't hold back a second yawn.
"C'mon, let's get you to bed" He picks me up and starts carrying me to another room.
"No it's fine!" I argue, "Don't we need to go back to our hotel"
"No. You're too tired, you're staying here tonight."
"B-but"
"If it makes you feel better, I'll be sleeping on the couch"
"It's not that..."
He smiles and continues carrying me to his room. When we get there, he sets me down carefully on the bed before sitting down next to me.
"Yoongi..," I start. He just smiles his signature gummy smile.
"I'm so happy you're here" he says.
"Do you mean that? You've only known me for a few months"
"Of course I mean it! Those have been the best months of my life. I've loved getting to know you, even if its been from a distance. That could never separate us. You are the best thing that's happened to me."
His words brought me to tears. I try to hold them back, but the feelings wash over me, pushing me to his arms.
He hugs me, "baby what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"I just, I'm not used to this.." I cry, "I've never been in a relationship before, what if I mess up?"
"You're already all I need, there's no way you could mess up."
I start bawling even harder at that, "Why are you so sweet? My heart can't handle this"
"They call me Suga for a reason" He grins.
I pull away for only a moment to glance up at his eyes, mine flickering down to his lips. He must've noticed, as he starts to lean in. His soft lips brush against mine, pulling me into a long and passionate kiss. Our lips part after a while, yet not nearly long enough.
"Yeah" I sigh, "They do."
Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH6 - A Blissful Day

I fumble with the strap of my bag while gazing at the gates of the amusement park. Is he here yet? He never clarified where I should meet him..
Maybe this is all just a prank and I should just leave. No, no, Jinnie would never do that. He's a good person.
"Y/N!!"
I turn around and see Kim Seokjin running up to me. The wind rushes through his hair, an angelic smile painted on his face.
"Y-you" I try to speak.
"You look beautiful, Y/N." He smiles down at me.
I blush, "you too."
He gently takes my hand in his and walks with me into the park. The butterflies in my stomach speed up at the sudden contact. He just giggles, "I'm so glad you came today."
"Why wouldn't I? It's not every day you can see the lovely Seokjin" I laugh.
Clouds swirl in the sky, a clear and bright sunshine smiling down on Lotte World. The light just enhances his beauty, he looks so full of life.
"How about that one?" He points to a tall ride. Though it wasn't the biggest here, it still made me freeze in fear.
"I don't know, I'm not good with heights.."
"It'll be fun! Let's just try."
We stand in the line. It twists around the entrance. When it's finally our turn, Jin gets into his seat and buckles his seatbelt. As I get in, he leans over and tightens mine for me.
"T-Thank you" I stutter.
It starts off slow. We build up energy on the smaller hills. When we reach the tallest one, I tighten my grip on his hand. We speed down the rails, moving so fast I can hardly see. When my vision focuses I notice the extreme distance between us and the ground. My breathing picks up, and he must have noticed. A warm hand tilts my face towards him.
"Hey, it's okay. Just focus on me. Don't look down."
I stare into his eyes, no longer thinking about the ride, "How did I get so lucky?"
"What was that?" He chuckles.
"N-nothing! Did I really say that out loud.." I shake my head in embarrassment.
"It's such a pretty day out today," He starts, "I feel like the luckiest guy in this park."
I blush at his words. We go on a couple more rides. As we walk around, searching for our next target, a rumbling sound interrupts us.
"Ah, sorry" Jin laughs, "That's my stomach. Do you want to get something to eat?"
"Sure!" I smile.
We wander around, eventually finding a small ice cream truck. We go up and wait for the two people ahead of us before ordering.
"I'll have chocolate" Jin says while turning to me.
"Um, could I get mint chocolate?"
The worker writes our order down and hands us the cones after they're done making them. We continue our stroll until settling on a bench in the park. The bench is on the small side, so me and Jin are quite close to each other.
I munch on my ice cream before Jin breaks the silence, "Mint chocolate, huh?"
"I love mint chocolate! I haven't had it in so long! Don't tell me..." I send him an accusing look.
"I'm sorry, I really don't like mint chocolate.."
"Really?" I gasp, "I guess that's okay. It's not for everyone."
"I do like you though.. so maybe I'll give it a second chance"
Before I can even react to his flirt, he swoops in and licks my ice cream.
"Hey!" I shout.
"Hmm" He mumbles while chewing, "Y'know what? It's not bad. Maybe it's because you're here" He winks at me.
"T-that's" I stutter, trying to hide my blushing face behind the small waffle cone, "that's not fair!"
"What? Do you want to try mine too?" He smirks while passing me the ice cream.
Hesitantly, I lean forward and try his. The chocolaty flavor of the ice cream melts in my mouth, closely met by a painful brain freeze. I rub my forehead and groan at the pain.
"Oh no, brain freeze?" He asks. I nod.
He continues to eat his ice cream while basking in the glorious afternoon sun, "You're so cute..."
————————
The rest of the day went by well. We went on a couple more rides, took some pictures at a Photo Booth, and had dinner. The sun was saying goodbye to us, waving it's orange and pink hues through the sky. We walked through a small park on the way back to my house.
"So, how do you feel?" He asks, referencing the date.
"Terrible." I reply bluntly.
"What?! Why?? Was it something I did?" He panics.
"It was the best day of my life. I'm sad that it's over."
"Oh," he laughs in relief, putting an arm around my shoulder, "Me too. But it doesn't have to be over just yet"
I freeze and look up at him.
"One more lap around the park?" He suggests.
I grin and agree.
——————————-
We walk up the narrow steps to my door, his arm still over my shoulders.
"Thank you so much for agreeing to go on this date with me" He said.
"Yeah, thank you for asking me." I reply, "Though I can't imagine why you did."
"Aigoo," he reaches up to ruffle my hair, "You were so charming when I first met you, but now that I've spent more time with you..."
I stand still in front of the door, fearing his answer. This is it. This is when he says that I'm weird or not funny or that he doesn't like me.
He notices my nerves and boops my nose, "You're more than just a pretty face. You're so funny. I want to go out again sometime,- i-if that's okay with you-"
"Definitely!" I squeal.
We agreed to exchange LINE accounts instead of numbers. I passed him my phone as he typed in the digits, sending himself a quick message so he'd have mine too. As he gave my phone back, I noticed the name he'd saved his contact under:
'Your Jinnie <3'

𝄆 𝄞 Namjoon POV 𝄇
"Why do you want to talk to me?"
I froze up. Why do I want to talk to you? Because I like you... But now is too early for a confession like that. Am I that awkward? Is she bored of me? Why is she asking a question like this, is it not enough to just have lunch with someone new?
"I-"
"Namjoon, we're going to be late! Let's go!" Yoongi calls out from a distance.
I start to follow him as I walk towards my next class, turning around to say to her:
"Because
I
like
you"
It was the only thing I could think of. That was the reason, after all. I just hope the noise of the crowd around us was enough to block out my unplanned confession. Nervously, I ran to my next class to ensure I'd be there on time, the blush still covering my face as I left.
𝄆 𝄞 Y/N POV 𝄇
As he ran off into the hallways, he said one last thing to me. Though I saw his mouth move, the only words I could make out were 'Because I'. That doesn't really answer my question, but he has a certain look of sincerity in his eyes that makes me believe him. Maybe he doesn't need a reason to be friends with me, maybe I only blend in because I've never tried to stand out. Maybe I'm more than what others have led me to believe.
𝄆 𝄞 𝄇
This evening as I sat at my desk, I scrolled through Instagram on my phone. In the suggested accounts for me to follow, Namjoon's was there. I can tell by the profile picture and posts he made of him and some of his friends whom I met today.
My thumb hovers over the follow button, still trying to decide if it's too soon or not.
Before I have a chance to make a decision, my cat jumps onto my desk and rattles the table. Petting her a few times, I look back down at my phone and realize I accidentally already clicked follow.
oh
no
When I come back to my room after having dinner, I check my phone, surprised to find two new notifications. 'One new follower' and 'one unread message'. I open up the app and see that he followed me back, but what surprises me more is the DM.
"Hey :)"
The Concert {SUGA} pt. 1
I gaped at the large venue. This is where BTS will be having their concert?
A few weeks ago, me and my friend Stacy had somehow managed to get our hands on two BTS tickets. We woke up super early to get them, but hey, here we are! About to see our idols.
"Oh wow... This is amazing! I can't believe we're seeing them in person!!" Stacy said.
"I know.. I wish I didn't feel so tired though. I have this aching feeling in my chest."
"Me too, isn't that what happens when you're near your soulmate? DO YOU THINK-"
"No no no, my heart can't handle even the idea of that," I laugh, "It's probably just allergies. C'mon, let's go find our seats!"
We got to our seats and chatted until the lights dimmed, signaling the concert would be starting soon. The preview video began playing on the screen. Cheers cried out all around us, almost making me forget the aching feeling. Almost. It had become worse, was I really meeting my soulmate? I just want to enjoy the concert, I can't handle trying to find them in the crowd.
"Wait, don't soulmates normally switch-" I was interrupted by music booming from the speakers.
Suddenly, BTS walked out onto the stage. They wave before the first verse, fans screaming all around us. I watched them through my phone screen as they danced to Fake Love. After a few more songs, they leave to change outfits and touch up their makeup. Right as they're about to go behind the stage, Suga turns around to get one last glimpse of the audience, and making eye contact with me in the process. And everything goes dark.
——————
I wake up in a chair in front of the mirror. Rubbing my eyes and adjusting to the bright lighting, I catch sight of my reflection.
"No.., no no no. What? How..." I mutter.
"Yoongi-hyung! Check out this jacket they gave me! It's so sparkly" V calls out to me while giving a slight twirl.
"I... I'm, uh" I try to say.
"Hey um, I don't want to interrupt but I, I switched and uh, I'm not Jimin?" Not Jimin says beside me.
"No way! He switched? Are you jealous Yoongi-hyung? You've been waiting to meet your soulmate for so long now~" V snickers.
"I'm not him either" I blurt out.
"Of course you aren't Jimin" V laughs.
"No, I mean I switched too. My name is Y/N"
"OMG! Y/N?! It's me! Stacy!"
I jump up and hug her, still feeling dazed from the sudden switch.
"I can't believe we both switched at the same time!"
"I know! And this works out so well! Suga being your bias and Jimin being mine" She giggles.
"Um, why are Yoongi-hyung and Jimin hugging?" RM asks, walking into the room.
"It's not them! It's Stacy and Y/N, was it?" We nod in response before V continues, "They both switched with their soulmates at the same time. Crazy, huh?"
"Wait, but what are we supposed to do about the concert?" Stacy/Jimin asks.
We're interrupted by a phone buzzing on the table. I pick it up and recognize my own phone number.
"H-hi? Is this my soulmate? Or me... this is so weird" I hear my own voice tell me.
"yeah... I guess we're soulmates" I try to sound nonchalant.
"You don't sound very excited for someone who just got switched with her bias" he teases, "I can see your phone background, you know. Plus you're at our concert."
I mentally facepalm.
"So, about the concert," he starts.
"How long is the effect supposed to last for?" I ask.
"For me it was about an hour" RM says. I turn the phone to speakerphone so Suga can hear.
"Well, I can't exactly dance... or rap" I mumble in embarrassment.
"Didn't the staff prepare a plan in case this happened?" Suga asks.
We talk out the details together and with the staff. The concert can't be cancelled, since people payed a lot to be here. We also can't let five members go out without the rest of us. They decided to move the solo performances up and keep both me and Stacy backstage until we switch back.
While they performed, me and Stacy were too excited to watch, even though that was what we came here to do. We talked about how surprised we were and what we were going to do, plans of getting Korean lessons, worries, etc. Before we knew it, the aching came back and we switched.
Here we were again in the crowd, watching as they finished up the last solo performance. When Jimin and Suga finally came out, they had the biggest smiles on their faces. And so did we.
