Hidden Behind A Smile (JIN) CH4 - The Fan Meet
Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH4 - The Fan Meet

Y/N POV:
"TA DA!! I got you a ticket to the fan meet!" He beams.
"WAIT WHAT?" I grab on to the ticket and examine it closely. Yep, this is definitely official. I gasp, "How did you even get one of these?? They only announced it just last night!"
"You know how the Armys are. You have to buy them quick before they sell out. But don't worry about that! You get to meet Jin!" He mentioned.
"You're right!" I exclaimed, "wait.. what will I say to him? How should I dress? Should I wear makeup, or no? What if he doesn't like me? What id I trip and-"
"Shh, shh," He breathed, "It'll be fine. I'm sure he'll love you. Why would he hate his fans? Just be yourself."
At his words, I calmed down, "You're right, just have to be myself."
"But when you get back you are telling me every detail, got it?" He held out his pinkie.
"Promise!"
———————————
Eventually the day of the fan meet came. I lightly curled my hair and put on some makeup. I wore a blush pink dress with gold detailing. Grabbing my bag, I got on the bus to drive to the venue.
Once I got there, long lines were crowding around the building. I got in line where I was supposed to and waited. Some people were talking and making friends, but I focused on what I was going to say once I got there.
JIN POV:
"Just 5 more minutes guys!" One of the staff called out to us.
"I'm so excited!!" Jimin cheered, "It's always so much fun to meet our fans. They're so sweet!"
"I heard you invited someone this time, Hyung." Jungkook turned to me.
"Yeah. A friend."
"Oooh who is it?" Hoseok teased.
"Are they a girl?" Taehyung asked.
"Yes, she's a girl. She's just a friend I've made recently and she happens to like our music." I replied.
"Are you her bias? Do you like her?" Taehyung continued to pester.
"It doesn't matter!" I yelled, "...but maybe"
"Maybe you're her bias or maybe she likes you??" Jungkook joined in.
"Guys! It's time to get out there!" The same staff member called.
I smoothed out my shirt as we walked onto the small stage. Looking out at the crowd, I tried to find her face. I didn't see her. Right as I was beginning to worry, I noticed her huddled in the corner, an overwhelmed look on her face. Cute, I thought.
After some short announcements from the other members, we began the signing. One by one fans came to the table and talked with us. Eventually it was Y/N's turn. She lingered towards the table.
The first member at the table was Namjoon. They talked for a bit and he must've made a joke, because she broke out into snickers. He signed her album and passed it on to Hoseok.
Inside I was burning with jealousy, but I tried to hide it from the fan in front of me. They're all excited to be here, I have to give them all a good show. Still, she's MY friend. I invited her here, but now all the other members are getting to talk to her.
Hoseok finishes signing her album and passes it on to me. She nervously walks over, but on the way she trips over her shoelaces. Luckily she was able to catch herself, but I know that must have really hurt her pride. I remember her saying she was worried about that...
"Ah.., I'm so sorry," She mumbled, her face as red as my shirt.
"Woah, you're so pretty. Is this my fan meet or yours?" I joked.
She laughed at that, "gosh, I seem to embarrass myself every time I meet you, don't I?"
"Please, don't worry about it. It's adorable." I said. The words left my mouth before I even realized. Shoot! Don't be so obvious about it, Seokjin! What are you saying!
If she wasn't blushing before, she was now. The other fans are starting to wrap up their conversations. She rushed to a page in the photo book for me to sign.
"Er- what is your name?" I ask.
"Y/N." She smiles.
Uncapping the marker, I began writing:
Dear Y/N,
Thank you so much for listening to our music and coming to the signing today! Your support means the word to us. I'd like to see you again. Wanna meet at Lotte World this Saturday at 10:00 am?
I'll be waiting for you,
Your Jinnie
I close the book and pass it back to her. She smiles, and I notice the glitter present both in her eyeshadow and her outfit. She looks so sparkly, but she does even when she's wearing worn out jeans and a sweatshirt at the store. No matter where she is or what she's doing, she never fails to make my heart flutter. It's been three months since I first met her, I need to tell her at some point.
Y/N, I really like you.

𝄆 Jungkook POV 𝄇
"Guys! Guys!" I huff.
"Woah, where'd you go man?" Hoseok questions.
"And why are you breathing so hard?" Taehyung jokes.
"I.. Y/N..."
Namjoon jumps up, "Y/N? What happened with Y/N?"
"She went to the bathroom, and I followed her, and, and those girls," I heave, "they were trash talking us and then they started bullying Y/N, she must have been hiding from them, and then they left and she was crying and-"
"I'm going to find her" Namjoon growls.
Suddenly, she strides up to the table. Grabbing her stuff, she bows to us, "thank you for lunch. I have to go now." Her eyes are puffy and her face is red from obvious crying.
"No, no no no." Namjoon pulls her to face him, "you don't look okay. We heard what happened. We-"
"It's fine. I'll see you around." She starts to walk away.
"Hyung, maybe-"
He bolts after her. They both exit the cafeteria. I turn to the rest of the boys, their faces showing equally confused expressions.
𝄆 Y/N POV 𝄇
I run into the library, the only place where I know I can be alone. Except I'm not. As I approach my favorite table in the back, Namjoon is still trailing behind me.
"I said it's fine."
"It's not fine" he says, "I don't know what they said, but I know they hurt you. And I never want to see anyone hurt you."
"Why do you care?" I sneer, "You guys aren't actually friends with me. I'm just your charity case. You don't want me around."
"Don't say that!" He cries, "I care because I lo-"
"Save me the pain." I whimper, "save me the pain of knowing you'll never feel to me how I feel about you."
As if on cue, the bell rings.
"I have to go, Namjoon. Just forget about it. I'll work on forgetting my feelings, and we can all just move on."
𝄆 Namjoon POV 𝄇
She walks back to her class. I stay frozen in the library, orange sun painting the shelves.
"But I don't want to move on."
Seeds of Hope (JHOPE) CH3 - What?!

I lean back in my chair and sigh as my chapter finally publishes. Two chapters done already! I close my Wattpad tab, get up and leave my apartment.
Exiting the building, I walk the crowded cement for a while before choosing a place to eat lunch. I walk up to the counter and order.
"Hello and welcome! What can I get for you today?" The cashier says.
"Hi! I would like a large fry and a medium drink, please."
"Coming right up!" She grabs a cup and hands it to me, "Here is your cup, go ahead and fill it up over there!"
She motions towards the soda fountain. I thank her and leave to fill up my cup.
I gawk at all the options. I'm used to only water and coffee, but look at all the choices! Making my decision I reach for the Sprite dispenser, but another hand brushes against mine at the same time.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I apologize, jumping out of the way.
"No no no it was my mistake! Please, you go first!" A voice all too familiar to me says.
"You first, I didn't realize how long I had been standing there. It must have been annoying," I say with a laugh as I lift my gaze.
"Wait... J-HOPE?" unknowingly I drop my cup. J-Hope had been standing there this whole time and I didn't even realize? His hand had even touched mine!
I bend down and pick up my cup whilst trying to hide my blushing face.
"Oh, you know me?" He stutters back to me.
"Y-yeah! I'm Army!" As if this situation couldn't get any more awkward, it had to be with my idol.
"Y-you're..." I pause, gathering up the courage to say what I'm about to say. "You're actually my bias."
"That's so cool!" He says enthusiastically, "I didn't think I had any fans, haha."
I can tell he's looking at me, but still I attempt to hide my face.
He starts to speak again, more nervous this time, "If that's the case, would you like to have lunch with me?"
✿
After we both receive our food, we pick a table and sit down.
"As you probably know already, I'm J-hope. You can just call me Hoseok, or oppa." He tells me, "Anyways, I realize I never asked you for your name!"
"O-oh!" I reply, still shocked at my current situation. "My name- I'm Stacy. Stacy Waters..."
"Stacy... I like it!" He says.
"Thank you!"
"That's not a Korean name though, where are you from?" He asks.
"I'm from the States" I answer. "But my eomma is Korean, so we moved here to be closer to her family."
"Oh really? Your Korean is really good though!"
"Haha, thanks. My eomma taught me a bit."
✿
We continue to talk as we eat our food. Even though we don't have a lot in common, we still enjoyed a nice conversation. I feel like we're good at opposite things, like how he's good at dancing and I have terrible rhythm. He's also a very hopeful person (like his name), whereas I tend to lean towards the more negative side of things. Despite this I felt like we got along great, if anything better because we're so different.
We talked long after we had both finished our food. Eventually, it was time to go.
"Wait..." Hoseok stopped as he searched the backpack he was carrying.
He pulled out a pen and started writing something on his receipt. After he finished he held it close to him and continued.
"I-I had a really good time today. It isn't often I get to talk to people outside the company." He took a deep breath before speaking again, "This is my phone number. I'd like to meet again... only if you want to, that is..."
"I'd love to." I took the paper from him and gently folded it before putting it in my back pocket.
He smiled at me, "Cool! Er- Thank you! Uh... See you again soon?"
I laughed at his awkwardness.
"Definitely."
Seeds of Hope (JHOPE) CH1 - The First Seed

BEFORE READING: The main character, Stacy, has two moms! She calls one of her moms 'Mom' and her second mom (The one from South Korea) 'Eomma' based on the Korean word for mom! This is just a note to avoid confusion. Happy reading!
I look down at the pavement and notice a cluster of vincas growing in between the sidewalk cracks. They're a magnificent periwinkle shade, and despite the city's busy atmosphere, they grow contently. I wish I could be more like that. I just don't belong here. I'm originally from the United States, but we moved to Seoul because of my eomma. She wants to be closer to her relatives. Luckily, she taught me and my mom some Korean, but we can only keep up a basic conversation.
The vincas remind me of my home, but mainly the garden I had worked on for years. The climbing roses and rainbows of snapdragons, and our weeping cherry tree that I would sit under whenever I felt lonely. I can't find any green here in the city, and my only garden is a window box we squeezed into the balcony of our cramped apartment. I can't enjoy it here. This is not my home.
I reach my mailbox and pull out my recent order. There are no nurseries in Seoul, so I ordered some seed packets online. Excited, I open the poly mailer and take out my packets. They aren't much, but they are enough to satisfy me for now.
A group of idol trainees practice in a street performance next to me. They're quite talented, but I didn't notice at the time as I was too fixated on the seeds. I wish I had, before I bumped into one of the members. I drop my loosely-sealed seed packets, and all my hope disappears as they scatter across the curb. I forget to apologize, trying to salvage as many as I can. The trainees stop dancing and some of them try to help me gather my seeds, but it's no use now. I'll never be able to figure out which seeds are which.
"I'm so sorry, I got too immersed in my dance! Can I help you pick them up?" He asks.
"It's no use now... I won't even be able to recognize them." I reply, tears starting to form in my eyes.
"We can still save some of them!" One of the other boys adds, "It'll just be a surprise when they grow!"
One of the older boys sighs, "you need to be more careful Hoseok!"
"Can I pay you back? How much did they cost?" The original boy said, apparently named Hoseok.
"Don't worry about it. I'm the one who bumped into you, It's my fault." I said.
"But-"
"Thank you guys for trying." I stood and brushed off my knees, leaving the scene. Those seeds were my last hope.
✿
When I open the door to my apartment, my mom already begins to ask me questions.
"How's the new school going? I know you're not that interested in performing arts, but it was the closest one we could find to our apartment."
"It's fine." I replied.
"Do you have any electives?"
"The only annoying class is dance, I'm terrible at it."
"That's too bad." My mom sighed, "Do you have any friends in the class who could help you?"
"No." I've been trying to end this conversation. I'm already in a bad mood, and the last thing I want to talk about is dance.
"Hey, aren't midterms coming up?" She asks, persistent.
Oh shoot- I start to panic. I forgot about tomorrow. We have to memorize a long choreography, and I can hardly do seconds of it. I don't want to tell her though, because then she'll want to help and I really just need to be alone.
"Yeah." I try to answer nonchalantly.
"So?" She raised her voice a bit, "Do you have any important ones soon?"
"I don't think so," I lied.
"You need to stay on top of these things, Stacy."
I hum in response and retreat to my bedroom. The apartment is small, but at least I get some privacy.
After I hear the click of my door closing I rush to open my laptop. I pull up the video showing the dance we have to do, and feel chills run down my spine.
There's no way...
I won't be able to get this in on time
Still, I practice as hard as I can to spare as much embarrassment as possible tomorrow, though some is inevitable.
✿
Hoseok's Perspective:
"Don't worry hyung! I'm almost done picking them up..." Jungkook says.
"Don't bother, she already left." Namjoon tells him.
I feel really bad. I didn't even notice her as I was dancing, it was my fault. I get the feeling those seeds meant a lot to her.
I notice something near the empty seed packets. I walk over to investigate, finding the poly mailer her seeds came in. An idea came to me. If her address is on the packaging, I can find her and apologize!
"You guys continue without me. I have to go."
"What? But we only just got started..." Taehyung complains.
"I know I know, but this is important!" I counter.
Without any further words said, I head off to find her.
✿
I reached the building the packaging led me to. I walked up the stairs to her floor, which was easy to find because this is also the building I live in. I happen to live in the apartment beside hers. I feel even worse now, how could I have already made a bad impression on my new neighbor?
I ring the doorbell before I even figure out what to say when she answers. After a pause, I hear aggressive footsteps approach the door.
"Hello, what can- wait... you?" She answers.
"H-hi! I-um, I wanted to... give you back the packaging to the-uh, to the seeds." nailed it.
"Oh, you didn't really have to. Thanks." she replied, not even looking at me.
An awkward silence forms as we both run out of things to say. I notice beads of sweat on her face, and she seems to be slightly winded. Based on her tone of voice and stance, she seems tense.
Curious, I ask, "So... what are you up to?"
"Oh, I have this assignment for a class I'm taking."
"Hmm. What class is it? Er- if you don't mind me asking." I try to continue. She seems hesitant, so I attempt to lighten the mood.
"It's just 'cause some of my friends, or, I guess other trainees, are also going to a school in this area, so if you're going to that one you might know them."
"Ah." She said, not very interested in my ramble. "It's a dance class. Dance One."
My expression lifts and I get excited. Maybe I can help her! That's how I'll repay her. I love dance, I'm sure I can be useful in some way for this assignment.
She continues, "-but it's really stupid. I hate dancing. I'm not good at it, and it looks really dumb anyways."
Hey everyone!!! :D
First chapter done already! This is my first fan fiction, so I hope you guys enjoy it! Thank you for reading!
Purple Ink (RM)
[Words in bold are in Korean]
I begin another doodle on my arm. It's nearly filled now with sketches from my ballpoint pen.
"Seriously, I can't believe your soulmate's never asked you to stop. Your drawings are everywhere at this point" my friend Stacy laughs.
I finish up the rose I'm drawing, "I'm sure they love my drawings. They've told me themself."
Stacy sighs, "I wish my soulmate talked to me more.. do you think I'll ever find them?"
"Easy. Just write your name really big on your forehead, they won't miss you."
"That is FAR from a solution, Y/N."
I laugh and look back down at my arm. A small heart appears next to the flower.
----
A Weverse notification interrupts my thoughts as I walk through the door. "RM started a Live" I open the live.
Namjoon and Hoseok are painting. I giggle as Namjoon spills some ink on his arm. Shutting my phone off, I go to take care of the pile of dishes in the sink.
As I pull my sleeves up, I notice a splatter over my wrist.
"What the.."
I run over and grab my phone. Pulling up the app again, I stiffen at the sight.
Namjoon's purple ink stain covers his wrist, a few splatters on his palm. Exactly like mine.
"No way... it can't be" I mumble.
Slowly, I grab a pen and write a small note on my arm by the splatter. Like clockwork, it shows up on his arm: "Namjoon?"
-----
The next few days, twitter had been blowing up about us.
"Namjoon's soulmate is an ARMY?"
"Guys! She knows! She found him!"
"Aww, that's sweet. Let's be happy for them."
"Wait, you mean they haven't met yet?"
I sigh, bringing my head to my hands.
"What do you want to do about it?" Stacy asks.
"I don't know.. I'm happy but I'm sad and I just don't know what to do. I'm surprised that he's someone I've admired for so long, but I feel dumb for not ever noticing. And I never imagined meeting my soulmate would be like... this. What if ARMY hates me? I don't want to cause him trouble. What if-"
"Relax, girl. I've only seen supportive comments so far. Everyone knows that you can't control soulmates, I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Yeah, I just, i dunno." I slump down in my chair, "it's not like I'll ever get to meet him anyways. It's a lost cause."
"Hey! Chill out. What you need to do is give him a way to find you."
"Such as?" I grumble.
"Such as posting your art online. I've been telling you forever, your creations are too good to keep to yourself! And if you post them, soon enough either he'll find you or ARMY will"
"That's... that's not a bad idea."
And that's how you got here. You'd been posting for two weeks now, but only had about 12 followers.
"Trust the process! He'll find you. It takes time to build an account." Stacy assured you.
"I just feel like the art should be for me, not a faceless algorithm."
"I'm sure he'll find you. He sees your art every day."
"I hope so" I mutter.
-----
I scrolled on my phone half-awake. I couldn't fall asleep, so I decided to explore my feed on instagram. Suddenly, I received a like. And another like. And a follow. And soon enough, a message.
"Who..." I mumbled.
My eyes widened as I see the message they sent me. (Messages by them are in THIS COLOR, messages by you are in THIS COLOR :))
"I'd recognize your art anywhere"
I shiver at their words. Looking at their account, it doesn't help in figuring out who this is. A part of me carries a small hope. It must be Namjoon! He must have found me! But I don't want to get hurt.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Namjoon :) You draw on my arm all the time.."
No... no way. It can't be. What am I supposed to say to my soulmate? What if it's just Stacy pulling some sick prank on me?
"Hmm, prove it then."
Suddenly I feel a tingling sensation on my wrist as words begin to appear. 'Hello artist'. I quickly scratch out a message in our chat room.
"Oh my god, it's really you! I never thought I'd find you.."
"Well you did :) I love your drawings by the way. I'm a big fan."
"No, that's what I'M supposed to be saying. You're music is seriously amazing. I can't believe I get to be your soulmate.."
"You're so cute"
I blush. Not sure what to say, I wait for him to speak again.
"How long have you known?"
"That I'm your soulmate haha"
"Oh, uh, I was watching your live with j-hope"
"Ah, so when I spilled the paint on myself? That isn't very romantic..."
"Well, I'm glad you did regardless."
A question sits at the back of my throat. Suddenly my fingers begin to type it.
"How did you find me?"
He begins to type.
"It's actually kind of similar. I've been following you for a while now. I found your page maybe, two weeks ago? You didn't have too many posts up at the time but as you started posting more, I guess I just kinda realized one day. Like your drawings felt like home to me. And one day I was looking at your art on my Lock Screen, and then down at my arm, and it just hit me. So I decided to message you haha"
"Dfbivaldhflvahf ok wait you made my art your Lock Screen?"
"Shoot. Shouldn't have sent that part"
I giggle.
"Um, I guess where do you live?"
"No no not like that-"
"I feel like I'm messing this whole soulmates thing up already??"
"Like do you also live in Korea or..?"
"Ah, no.. sorry. I live in (INSERT COUNTRY NAME)"
"Don't be sorry! Y'know.. we're actually going to be doing a comeback soon with a tour :D"
"I'll talk and see if we can go there!"
————
I shiver in the cold hallway. He told me to meet him here, is he still coming? Maybe I should leave.. NO! That's silly. He's coming, Y/N. Just be patient.
Suddenly I hear sneakers squeak against the tile. Turning to my left, I notice him. Him. The boy I've been messaging for 7 months now. The one I've been waiting to meet. The one I love.
His dark hair bounces as he runs, star-like shimmers glimmering in his eyes. He slides in front of me, skidding a bit on the slick floor.
"It's you, you're here, I" He pants.
"Hi Namjoon" I smile.
Suddenly my head goes blank. All those months of texting, and I have nothing to say.
"Erm, good luck with the concert."
He checks his watch, "Oh, right, haha. I was so excited to meet you that I forgot about the concert."
"Hey! ARMYs paid good money to be here tonight. Don't forget about them because of me"
He smiles and pulls me into a hug. We swing from left to right as we talk. After around 15 minutes, a staff member informs us that we have to go for him to perform.
Once he leaves I sink down to the floor, clutching my phone to me. I daydream about reality, the moments only seconds ago that somehow already feel so distant. Wonder when I'll see him again. Wonder if it'll be soon.
"I can't believe she's his soulmate"
"I know, right? I mean, is the universe sure that they're destined?"
Laughter from the two staff members pulls me out of my lovely daze. Why are they so rude? What did I do? Do they assume I don't know Korean just because we spoke in English?
A third girl working there spoke up, "C'mon guys, let's not be so mean. We don't even know her yet!"
"Yeah, but like, have you seen her?" The previous staff questions.
"Yeah, what about her?"
"She's just... not what I thought she'd look like."
"She could be listening now," the third girl said, "I think she seems perfectly nice. You should give her a chance."
Without another word she walks out of the room and into the hallway, where I was listening. I look up to her from the floor, my eyes glistening with tears.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! You must have heard them. They're like that to everyone, don't worry."
I nod and turn away, "Yeah no, it's just... old insecurities coming back"
"Well don't let them," she smiles, "I, along with I'm sure Namjoon, think you're gorgeous."
I laugh, "Thank you. You are too"
"I have to be! It's hard keeping up with my worldwide handsome boyfriend" She jokes.
"Wait, are you?"
"Minji, Kim Seokjin's soulmate" She grins.
We talk together while we watch the concert from the waiting room. Apparently she's been with the boys for 2 years, which is a little intimidating. Am I going to have to meet them later? What if-
"Everything alright?" Minji asks.
"y-yeah!" I nod.
"Don't worry, you'll be okay"
I turn to her. Did she know? Suddenly, Namjoon and the rest of the members pour into the room.
He pulls me into a hug, "How did we do, baby?"
I blush at the nickname, mumbling, "You guys were amazing"
"Were you nice to Y/N?" Seokjin asks Minji.
She sighs, "yes, but Ari and Chaeyeong said stuff about her"
"What did they say?" Namjoon yells.
"They were just being rude. Talking about what she looks like and if she's good enough for you, and...y'know"
Unknowingly, I had begun to tug harder at Namjoon's shirt while tears threatened to form. He pulls his arms tighter around me, "Hey, hey, it's okay. You're perfect. Don't listen to them, Minji's right. They're always like this. We are all here for you, we love you. None of the things you're insecure about mean anything to me. To me, you are perfect."
"I-I.." He pulls away to look at my face.
"You're crying but you're smiling.. I don't understand"
"They're happy tears" I grinned, "Because, I can't believe the universe thought to give me the luck that is you."
Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH2 - Yoongi
(Yoongi POV)
Hoseok comes running into the flower shop, a bright smile plastered all over his face.
"I'm guessing it went well?" I say.
"It was great! She was amazing-, You have to talk to her!!"
"I'm glad you have a new friend, but don't drag me into this."
"I'm serious Yoongi! You'd really like her! Besides, she told me she was into writing! Didn't you say just a few days ago that you need help on the writing for your songs? You should talk to her! She writes stories but I'm sure she could help with lyrics too!" Hoseok beamed.
"Okay. Maybe tomorrow." I agreed.
"Yes! Let's go first thing tomorrow! I'll text her right-"
"No! Don't text her, I said maybe!"
————————————————————————————-
"Are you ready to go?" Hoseok asks excitedly.
"We're just going next door. It's not a big deal.." I say, butterflies building in my stomach.
We open the door to the cafe and go inside. Walking up to the counter, every step weighs me down. What if she doesn't like me? What if I say the wrong thing and make a fool of myself? What if-
"Hey it's you again!" She greets Hoseok, "Is this the friend you run the flower shop with?"
"Yeah!" Hoseok turns to me and motions to introduce myself.
"Ah-uh.., I'm Yoongi, and you are?" I ask.
"I'm Y/N! It's nice to meet you, Yoongi." Y/N says.
My name sounds sweet as sugar against her tongue. She looks like she's from a movie. I stare at her like she's just a screenshot. The light brushes through her hair and sparkles in her eyes. She looks pure, but like a thousand thoughts are swimming through her head. A thousand thoughts I'll never know. I pull myself away.
"Ah, shoot, I just remembered that technically our shop is still open and no one's there to watch it. I better get back, enjoy your conversation guys!" Hoseok blurted out before rushing out of the cafe, leaving me on my own.
I turn back to her and she smiles at me, "So, what inspired you to start a flower shop?" She asks.
"Ah, well, I guess it was kind of more Hoseok's thing. I did like the idea of incorporating new flowers into bouquets that you don't usually see. There are so many beautiful flowers and plants that just aren't given the same attention that some are. I think that maybe through this shop we can show people that."
"That's beautiful.." She whispered, "I wouldn't have expected that. That's really sweet."
She purses her lips and looks away, snapping me out of my fantasy. I turn and face the window, what can I ask her?
"Why did you start a cafe?"
She looks up to me and grins, "Actually, it's more just a side project. Or I can at least hope."
"Do you not like running the cafe?" I say.
"No, don't get me wrong, it's pleasant. I love the atmosphere, but it's not my dream." Her voice turns to a whisper as she ends her sentence.
(Y/N POV)
From what you've heard-and that isn't much-this guy doesn't get out a lot. You feel like on some level, you can connect to him. Are you, too, hiding? Maybe he's right. This cafe isn't your dream.
"Sorry if that question was too personal.., You don't have to answer if you aren't comfortable" He begins, worry evident in his voice.
You respond, "It wasn't too personal a question. It was a good question. I'm still trying to think of an answer."
"Oh okay, take your time" He exhales.
"To be honest with you? When I was younger I wanted to be a writer. I already told that much to Hoseok. However, when I was in like, I don't know, 4th grade maybe? We had this project where we had to write a story. I had so much fun crafting my characters and adding new plot twists. I showed it to all my friends and we named characters after each other, it was a lot of fun."
He leans against the counter, "What happened?"
"When I got my story back, the teacher had covered it in red pen. Grammar mistakes, spelling errors, but mainly comments. She kept saying things about how the plot was 'unrealistic' and I needed to make my story simpler. Reading through my classmates' stories, they had a much better flow. I guess that's when I sort of lost my confidence."
He pauses for a moment, "...can I read some of your writing?"
"No, no.. it's really not good. I haven't even got anything published yet. You don't-"
"I want to read it." He states.
You sigh and head to the back room, grabbing a notebook from your bag. Opening up to a page, you say, "It's not edited or anything so it might be bad.., just stop reading if it's too terrible."
He doesn't listen, and instead scans over the page, reading your newest work. It's been so long since you've had anyone read your work, all you can do is stare at the ground in silent panic.
When he finishes the short story, he looks up at you with a bright smile, "What are you talking about? This is so good! It was really engaging and your characters are so unique. I want to read more of your work, in fact, if it's not too straightforward.., could I ask a favor of you?"
You freeze in shock, He... liked it? You begin to respond, "What is it?"
"Well, I've been working on some new music lately and could really use some help. Would you mind taking a look at it?" He asks.
You agree. He smiles, "Would you mind coming over tomorrow then?"
"Sure! I'll come."
"Ah, I guess I should give you my number then,.."
