Today when I enter the classroom, something unusual happens.
"Hey Y/N!" Namjoon says once I walk in.
Are we this close yet? I've never even talked to him before aside from yesterday...
I smile and give a small wave before sitting down at my desk. I couldn't focus during the remainder of class, my thoughts always returning to him. Why is he trying to be friends with me? He already is popular, I blend into the background.
Eventually the bell rings and students are rushing out the door to lunch. I stand and pause to sort out my supplies in my backpack. I hear footsteps entering the classroom and mumbling, but disregard it.
"Come on, you can do it!" A voice whispers, "Just ask her!"
"Okay okay,"
Suddenly I feel like someone is looking at me. I slowly look up and almost jump when I find him in front of me.
"H-hi Namjoon" I say under my breath.
"Hey!" He says a little nervously, "We were wondering if you wanted to have lunch with us"
"...us?" I ask.
"Oh! I didn't introduce myself. I'm Jimin" A slightly shorter boy says as he walks out from behind Namjoon, "You must be Y/N then, right?"
"Yeah... wait, how do you know my name?"
"Namjoon told m-"
"Haha, why wouldn't he know you? This is a small school after all" Namjoon interrupts while slightly kicking the boy behind him.
"So, what do you say? Are you busy?" Namjoon asks.
"N-No..." I admit, still wondering why on Earth they, some of the most popular people at this school, want to have lunch with me.
๐ ๐ ๐
We arrive at the busy cafeteria, loud and busy with people walking over to meet their friends, talking and calling out to each other. Suddenly a hand waves us over to a table, and I follow the two boys in front of me.
When we get to the table, we're greeted by five others. Namjoon motions for me to sit down in-between him and Jimin. Though I know who all of them are, I still feel awkward sitting here. Eyes watch me from around the room, because everyone else can see how I don't belong at this table. They are too popular for me.
"This is Y/N, everyone" Namjoon thankfully saves me from having to introduce myself.
"We know who she is! I'm Jungkook though" Yells out the boy sitting across from me.
They continue going around the table introducing themselves. I try to stay calm and greet each person. I try to make eye contact with them but eventually fail, looking down at the floor.
Once they were done introducing themselves to me, the conversation moved on to other things. I was too flustered to make out what they were saying until something caught my attention.
"What? We have to learn the choreography for it already?" Namjoon starts complaining, "I only just finished learning the last one"
"What choreography?" I asked curiously.
"W-well," He stutters out, "I'm training to be a K-POP idol... We're all in a group actually"
"Really? That's so cool." I reply, "I could never do that. I'm terrible at dancing"
"So is he" Jimin responds with a laugh.
"Hey! I'm not that bad..." He retorts.
We all laugh and they continue talking about their choreographies and practices. Eventually the bell rings again, signaling for us to go to our next class.
"It was really nice meeting you today, Y/N!" Taehyung says to me as he disappears into the crowd.
I wave goodbye to all of them, until only me and Namjoon are left. I look up at him only to find that he's already looking at me. A slight blush forms on my face as he begins to speak.
"Uhm, I had a lot of fun today. Want to have lunch with us again tomorrow?" He asks me.
"Sure" I say.
Despite the fun I had, the same question still plagues my thoughts. I have to ask him.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Mhm" he hums.
"Why do you want to talk to me?"

Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH6 - A Blissful Day

I fumble with the strap of my bag while gazing at the gates of the amusement park. Is he here yet? He never clarified where I should meet him..
Maybe this is all just a prank and I should just leave. No, no, Jinnie would never do that. He's a good person.
"Y/N!!"
I turn around and see Kim Seokjin running up to me. The wind rushes through his hair, an angelic smile painted on his face.
"Y-you" I try to speak.
"You look beautiful, Y/N." He smiles down at me.
I blush, "you too."
He gently takes my hand in his and walks with me into the park. The butterflies in my stomach speed up at the sudden contact. He just giggles, "I'm so glad you came today."
"Why wouldn't I? It's not every day you can see the lovely Seokjin" I laugh.
Clouds swirl in the sky, a clear and bright sunshine smiling down on Lotte World. The light just enhances his beauty, he looks so full of life.
"How about that one?" He points to a tall ride. Though it wasn't the biggest here, it still made me freeze in fear.
"I don't know, I'm not good with heights.."
"It'll be fun! Let's just try."
We stand in the line. It twists around the entrance. When it's finally our turn, Jin gets into his seat and buckles his seatbelt. As I get in, he leans over and tightens mine for me.
"T-Thank you" I stutter.
It starts off slow. We build up energy on the smaller hills. When we reach the tallest one, I tighten my grip on his hand. We speed down the rails, moving so fast I can hardly see. When my vision focuses I notice the extreme distance between us and the ground. My breathing picks up, and he must have noticed. A warm hand tilts my face towards him.
"Hey, it's okay. Just focus on me. Don't look down."
I stare into his eyes, no longer thinking about the ride, "How did I get so lucky?"
"What was that?" He chuckles.
"N-nothing! Did I really say that out loud.." I shake my head in embarrassment.
"It's such a pretty day out today," He starts, "I feel like the luckiest guy in this park."
I blush at his words. We go on a couple more rides. As we walk around, searching for our next target, a rumbling sound interrupts us.
"Ah, sorry" Jin laughs, "That's my stomach. Do you want to get something to eat?"
"Sure!" I smile.
We wander around, eventually finding a small ice cream truck. We go up and wait for the two people ahead of us before ordering.
"I'll have chocolate" Jin says while turning to me.
"Um, could I get mint chocolate?"
The worker writes our order down and hands us the cones after they're done making them. We continue our stroll until settling on a bench in the park. The bench is on the small side, so me and Jin are quite close to each other.
I munch on my ice cream before Jin breaks the silence, "Mint chocolate, huh?"
"I love mint chocolate! I haven't had it in so long! Don't tell me..." I send him an accusing look.
"I'm sorry, I really don't like mint chocolate.."
"Really?" I gasp, "I guess that's okay. It's not for everyone."
"I do like you though.. so maybe I'll give it a second chance"
Before I can even react to his flirt, he swoops in and licks my ice cream.
"Hey!" I shout.
"Hmm" He mumbles while chewing, "Y'know what? It's not bad. Maybe it's because you're here" He winks at me.
"T-that's" I stutter, trying to hide my blushing face behind the small waffle cone, "that's not fair!"
"What? Do you want to try mine too?" He smirks while passing me the ice cream.
Hesitantly, I lean forward and try his. The chocolaty flavor of the ice cream melts in my mouth, closely met by a painful brain freeze. I rub my forehead and groan at the pain.
"Oh no, brain freeze?" He asks. I nod.
He continues to eat his ice cream while basking in the glorious afternoon sun, "You're so cute..."
โโโโโโโโ
The rest of the day went by well. We went on a couple more rides, took some pictures at a Photo Booth, and had dinner. The sun was saying goodbye to us, waving it's orange and pink hues through the sky. We walked through a small park on the way back to my house.
"So, how do you feel?" He asks, referencing the date.
"Terrible." I reply bluntly.
"What?! Why?? Was it something I did?" He panics.
"It was the best day of my life. I'm sad that it's over."
"Oh," he laughs in relief, putting an arm around my shoulder, "Me too. But it doesn't have to be over just yet"
I freeze and look up at him.
"One more lap around the park?" He suggests.
I grin and agree.
โโโโโโโโโโ-
We walk up the narrow steps to my door, his arm still over my shoulders.
"Thank you so much for agreeing to go on this date with me" He said.
"Yeah, thank you for asking me." I reply, "Though I can't imagine why you did."
"Aigoo," he reaches up to ruffle my hair, "You were so charming when I first met you, but now that I've spent more time with you..."
I stand still in front of the door, fearing his answer. This is it. This is when he says that I'm weird or not funny or that he doesn't like me.
He notices my nerves and boops my nose, "You're more than just a pretty face. You're so funny. I want to go out again sometime,- i-if that's okay with you-"
"Definitely!" I squeal.
We agreed to exchange LINE accounts instead of numbers. I passed him my phone as he typed in the digits, sending himself a quick message so he'd have mine too. As he gave my phone back, I noticed the name he'd saved his contact under:
'Your Jinnie <3'

๐ ๐ Your POV ๐
"Hey :)"
How do I respond? How did he find my account? Oh no, it sent a read receipt! He'll know I saw it immediately! I have to type out a reply quickly...
"Hey! What's up?"
"Nothing much. I saw you followed me, this is Y/N, right?"
"Ah, yes. That's me!"
I decide not to tell him the follow was on accident. If he learns that, he'll start to question why I was on his account at all. Besides, a little more confidence couldn't hurt me.
"So.. what are you up to?"
"Not anything special.. haha. Just working on my manuscript"
"Manuscript? What are you writing?"
"It's been my dream since I was younger to become an authors, so I kinda started working on a book :)"
"That's so cool! What's it about?"
"Like the whole thing?"
"Yeah haha"
"Well, so basically, it's kinda just a classic romance I guess. But I wanted to write about like, this big university with so many people but the main character is kinda shy and doesn't know that many people. That's kinda it."
"But she finds love?"
"Yeah, this guy notices her and brings her out of her shell a bit"
"That's really cute :)"
"I can't wait to read it when it comes out!"
"Thanks! Though I don't know if I'll be able to publish it T-T"
"Well, I can be your first fan"
My heart skips a beat at his comment. I surprised myself with how easy it was to talk to him over text instead. I decide to change the topic over to him.
"So.. how's the idol stuff going?"
"Good! We're on break right now. We just finished learning the new choreography. Or at least they did.. I'm still lost"
"Dang, you're still at practice? You guys work really hard"
"That's what it takes. I hope we get a weekend off soon, though."
"Well, I can be your first fan then. Unless that slot's already taken?"
"NO no no! You can be my first fan :)"
"ER- the group's first fan"
"I dunno, you guys seem to be pretty popular hehe"
"?"
"How?"
"C'mon, you can't seriously say you haven't heard people talking about you."
"No,.. I haven't. Good things?"
"Yeah, good things"
"What do they say?"
"Oh y'know, you're so cute, I love you, I wanna be your girlfriend"
"***they say that. Not me"
"You don't think I'm cute? :("
"I didn't say that"
"But no"
":("
"Well, I think you're cute"
I set the phone down on the table. I feel my face burning from his compliment. When did this start happening? Last time I checked, no one was all that interested in flirting with me.
"I have to go to bed. I'll talk to you later"
Without another word I put down my phone and head to bed.
Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH2 - Yoongi
(Yoongi POV)
Hoseok comes running into the flower shop, a bright smile plastered all over his face.
"I'm guessing it went well?" I say.
"It was great! She was amazing-, You have to talk to her!!"
"I'm glad you have a new friend, but don't drag me into this."
"I'm serious Yoongi! You'd really like her! Besides, she told me she was into writing! Didn't you say just a few days ago that you need help on the writing for your songs? You should talk to her! She writes stories but I'm sure she could help with lyrics too!" Hoseok beamed.
"Okay. Maybe tomorrow." I agreed.
"Yes! Let's go first thing tomorrow! I'll text her right-"
"No! Don't text her, I said maybe!"
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ-
"Are you ready to go?" Hoseok asks excitedly.
"We're just going next door. It's not a big deal.." I say, butterflies building in my stomach.
We open the door to the cafe and go inside. Walking up to the counter, every step weighs me down. What if she doesn't like me? What if I say the wrong thing and make a fool of myself? What if-
"Hey it's you again!" She greets Hoseok, "Is this the friend you run the flower shop with?"
"Yeah!" Hoseok turns to me and motions to introduce myself.
"Ah-uh.., I'm Yoongi, and you are?" I ask.
"I'm Y/N! It's nice to meet you, Yoongi." Y/N says.
My name sounds sweet as sugar against her tongue. She looks like she's from a movie. I stare at her like she's just a screenshot. The light brushes through her hair and sparkles in her eyes. She looks pure, but like a thousand thoughts are swimming through her head. A thousand thoughts I'll never know. I pull myself away.
"Ah, shoot, I just remembered that technically our shop is still open and no one's there to watch it. I better get back, enjoy your conversation guys!" Hoseok blurted out before rushing out of the cafe, leaving me on my own.
I turn back to her and she smiles at me, "So, what inspired you to start a flower shop?" She asks.
"Ah, well, I guess it was kind of more Hoseok's thing. I did like the idea of incorporating new flowers into bouquets that you don't usually see. There are so many beautiful flowers and plants that just aren't given the same attention that some are. I think that maybe through this shop we can show people that."
"That's beautiful.." She whispered, "I wouldn't have expected that. That's really sweet."
She purses her lips and looks away, snapping me out of my fantasy. I turn and face the window, what can I ask her?
"Why did you start a cafe?"
She looks up to me and grins, "Actually, it's more just a side project. Or I can at least hope."
"Do you not like running the cafe?" I say.
"No, don't get me wrong, it's pleasant. I love the atmosphere, but it's not my dream." Her voice turns to a whisper as she ends her sentence.
(Y/N POV)
From what you've heard-and that isn't much-this guy doesn't get out a lot. You feel like on some level, you can connect to him. Are you, too, hiding? Maybe he's right. This cafe isn't your dream.
"Sorry if that question was too personal.., You don't have to answer if you aren't comfortable" He begins, worry evident in his voice.
You respond, "It wasn't too personal a question. It was a good question. I'm still trying to think of an answer."
"Oh okay, take your time" He exhales.
"To be honest with you? When I was younger I wanted to be a writer. I already told that much to Hoseok. However, when I was in like, I don't know, 4th grade maybe? We had this project where we had to write a story. I had so much fun crafting my characters and adding new plot twists. I showed it to all my friends and we named characters after each other, it was a lot of fun."
He leans against the counter, "What happened?"
"When I got my story back, the teacher had covered it in red pen. Grammar mistakes, spelling errors, but mainly comments. She kept saying things about how the plot was 'unrealistic' and I needed to make my story simpler. Reading through my classmates' stories, they had a much better flow. I guess that's when I sort of lost my confidence."
He pauses for a moment, "...can I read some of your writing?"
"No, no.. it's really not good. I haven't even got anything published yet. You don't-"
"I want to read it." He states.
You sigh and head to the back room, grabbing a notebook from your bag. Opening up to a page, you say, "It's not edited or anything so it might be bad.., just stop reading if it's too terrible."
He doesn't listen, and instead scans over the page, reading your newest work. It's been so long since you've had anyone read your work, all you can do is stare at the ground in silent panic.
When he finishes the short story, he looks up at you with a bright smile, "What are you talking about? This is so good! It was really engaging and your characters are so unique. I want to read more of your work, in fact, if it's not too straightforward.., could I ask a favor of you?"
You freeze in shock, He... liked it? You begin to respond, "What is it?"
"Well, I've been working on some new music lately and could really use some help. Would you mind taking a look at it?" He asks.
You agree. He smiles, "Would you mind coming over tomorrow then?"
"Sure! I'll come."
"Ah, I guess I should give you my number then,.."
Author Note:
Hello everybody!! How are you today? I'm working on so many stories right now but please stick with me! I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter. Also a very happy birthday to my bias, J-HOPE!!! ๐๐ฟ๏ธโ๏ธ

๐ Jungkook POV ๐
"Guys! Guys!" I huff.
"Woah, where'd you go man?" Hoseok questions.
"And why are you breathing so hard?" Taehyung jokes.
"I.. Y/N..."
Namjoon jumps up, "Y/N? What happened with Y/N?"
"She went to the bathroom, and I followed her, and, and those girls," I heave, "they were trash talking us and then they started bullying Y/N, she must have been hiding from them, and then they left and she was crying and-"
"I'm going to find her" Namjoon growls.
Suddenly, she strides up to the table. Grabbing her stuff, she bows to us, "thank you for lunch. I have to go now." Her eyes are puffy and her face is red from obvious crying.
"No, no no no." Namjoon pulls her to face him, "you don't look okay. We heard what happened. We-"
"It's fine. I'll see you around." She starts to walk away.
"Hyung, maybe-"
He bolts after her. They both exit the cafeteria. I turn to the rest of the boys, their faces showing equally confused expressions.
๐ Y/N POV ๐
I run into the library, the only place where I know I can be alone. Except I'm not. As I approach my favorite table in the back, Namjoon is still trailing behind me.
"I said it's fine."
"It's not fine" he says, "I don't know what they said, but I know they hurt you. And I never want to see anyone hurt you."
"Why do you care?" I sneer, "You guys aren't actually friends with me. I'm just your charity case. You don't want me around."
"Don't say that!" He cries, "I care because I lo-"
"Save me the pain." I whimper, "save me the pain of knowing you'll never feel to me how I feel about you."
As if on cue, the bell rings.
"I have to go, Namjoon. Just forget about it. I'll work on forgetting my feelings, and we can all just move on."
๐ Namjoon POV ๐
She walks back to her class. I stay frozen in the library, orange sun painting the shelves.
"But I don't want to move on."

๐ Namjoon POV ๐
"I have to go to bed. I'll talk to you later"
I frown at the blue screen. Was that too far? I shouldn't have done that. Now she probably doesn't like me. She hates me. She-
"Namjoon? Everything alright?"
"Uh, yeah." I say, still staring at the phone.
Hoseok takes the phone from my grasp, reading through the messages.
"Woah"
"Hey! Give it back!" I yell, trying to steal it away.
"I didn't know you were such a flirt"
"Well, it didn't do me any good. She hates me now."
"Why do you say that?" Hoseok asks.
"Did you read the message? She left immediately. I should've known it was too far."
"Maybe she just got flustered." He suggests. I shrug. "How about you go apologize to her tomorrow. I'm sure you didn't upset her that much. She just said she had to go, you probably didn't upset her."
"You think so?"
"Yes. Now you go to bed too. We've had a long day, you need your rest." Hoseok ushers me to bed.
๐ ๐ ๐
The next day I stumble up to her desk. She sets down her book and glances up at me. She flinches and looks away, staring at the birds out the window.
"Listen Y/N, I just.. wanted to say I'm sorry"
"What?" She asks, her sight going right back up to me.
"I'm sorry for the message I sent you last night. It was too far, I should've known you weren't-"
"It's okay! I know you didn't mean it that way" She laughs.
"What way?"
"I know you were only joking," she bites her lip, "people like you don't like people like me"
"I like you!" I defend.
"Yeah! As a friend. Ditto!" She says.
But..I like you as more than a friend.
I start, "but I-"
"We still on for lunch today?"
๐ ๐ ๐
๐ Y/N POV ๐
I frown as I think back to the moment from earlier. Why does he have to taunt me like this? Make me confused... I know he'll never see me as anything more than a friend. I have to be okay with that.
"Y/N, you okay?" Namjoon asks.
"Namjoon-Oppa!"
Two girls run up to us, "could we talk to you for a second?"
"Uh," he pauses, glancing over at us, "sure?"
"Alone?" She asks.
"If you have something to say, you can say it to all of us." Jin says, getting annoyed.
"Fine." She huffs, "Namjoon-Oppa, I like you. Do you want to go out with me?"
"U-uh.." he looks over at me. Why is he looking at me?? Rubbing it in my face? "I appreciate it, but I'm not interested."
"W-well you might have fun! At least give me a chance, oppa." She pouts.
"Sorry, I already like someone else."
A choke forms in my throat. I cough, bringing all the attention to me. Great.
"Y/N, you okay?" Jungkook rests a hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah yeah!" I croak, "I uhm, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Be right back"
I stumble from my chair to the familiar beige halls. Pressing my hands to the sinks edge, I glare at the image across from me in the mirror.
He likes someone already? I should've known, she must be pretty great for him to turn them down. They're beautiful.
No, no he's smarter than that. He wouldn't date someone for looks. She probably is amazing. And she's definitely lucky.
"Ugh, I can't believe that! That was so embarrassing"
"Don't even worry about it girl! He's stupid anyway."
Voices of the earlier girls echo against the brick walls. I rush into a stall, hands clutching the lock. I try to quiet my heavy breathing.
"I mean, who could she be?"
"I don't know!" Her friend says, "but it doesn't matter. He doesn't have any taste, clearly. He isn't worth it."
My grip tightens. Wanting to jump out there and defend him. Wanting to chew them out. I force myself to calm my nerves and slump down. To fade to the door until they leave.
"And that girl earlier?" The girl who confessed starts, "what a joke. Why is she even sitting with them?"
I squeeze my eyes shut, trying desperately to release the anger. My face burns. A tear slips down onto my shaking hands.
"She's been sitting with them for a few days now. They must be doing it as a joke, they would never sit with someone like her on purpose."
"After how that confession worked out? Maybe they would." Their laughs slowly start to fade as they leave the bathroom.
I creep out of the bathroom, checking first that they really left. Then I let out my frustrations, tears streaming down my face. I make no attempt to stop them.
๐ Jungkook POV ๐
I follow behind Y/N. I hope she's okay.. she seemed kinda thrown today. Plus I want to make sure she isn't actually choking. I duck behind the lockers as the two girls from earlier strut into the same room
Oh no...
They gossip for a bit. Bashing Namjoon-hyung and basically just feeling bad for themselves. Then they start to say mean things about Y/N. They must not know she's in there. I urge myself to stay calm and not go in and fight them.
How could they say such things? From what we know so far, she's just a sweet, quiet girl.
Eventually they leave and I move to hide again. I wait for Y/N to come out, but she doesn't.
I begin to hear shattered sobs. Twisting around the corner, I contemplate the idea of going in and comforting her. All before she starts to speak:
"Why... can I never be good enough. Why am I always lacking. Why can't anywone.." she cries.
I start walking in, "HEY! What do you think you're doing?" A teacher calls out.
I shuffle backwards, "what do you-.. OOOHHHHH, this is the WOMEN'S restroom, my bad!"
The teacher continues in. I spare one last longing glance towards where Y/N is, then rush back to the rest of the group.
