Today when I enter the classroom, something unusual happens.
"Hey Y/N!" Namjoon says once I walk in.
Are we this close yet? I've never even talked to him before aside from yesterday...
I smile and give a small wave before sitting down at my desk. I couldn't focus during the remainder of class, my thoughts always returning to him. Why is he trying to be friends with me? He already is popular, I blend into the background.
Eventually the bell rings and students are rushing out the door to lunch. I stand and pause to sort out my supplies in my backpack. I hear footsteps entering the classroom and mumbling, but disregard it.
"Come on, you can do it!" A voice whispers, "Just ask her!"
"Okay okay,"
Suddenly I feel like someone is looking at me. I slowly look up and almost jump when I find him in front of me.
"H-hi Namjoon" I say under my breath.
"Hey!" He says a little nervously, "We were wondering if you wanted to have lunch with us"
"...us?" I ask.
"Oh! I didn't introduce myself. I'm Jimin" A slightly shorter boy says as he walks out from behind Namjoon, "You must be Y/N then, right?"
"Yeah... wait, how do you know my name?"
"Namjoon told m-"
"Haha, why wouldn't he know you? This is a small school after all" Namjoon interrupts while slightly kicking the boy behind him.
"So, what do you say? Are you busy?" Namjoon asks.
"N-No..." I admit, still wondering why on Earth they, some of the most popular people at this school, want to have lunch with me.

We arrive at the busy cafeteria, loud and busy with people walking over to meet their friends, talking and calling out to each other. Suddenly a hand waves us over to a table, and I follow the two boys in front of me.
When we get to the table, we're greeted by five others. Namjoon motions for me to sit down in-between him and Jimin. Though I know who all of them are, I still feel awkward sitting here. Eyes watch me from around the room, because everyone else can see how I don't belong at this table. They are too popular for me.
"This is Y/N, everyone" Namjoon thankfully saves me from having to introduce myself.
"We know who she is! I'm Jungkook though" Yells out the boy sitting across from me.
They continue going around the table introducing themselves. I try to stay calm and greet each person. I try to make eye contact with them but eventually fail, looking down at the floor.
Once they were done introducing themselves to me, the conversation moved on to other things. I was too flustered to make out what they were saying until something caught my attention.
"What? We have to learn the choreography for it already?" Namjoon starts complaining, "I only just finished learning the last one"
"What choreography?" I asked curiously.
"W-well," He stutters out, "I'm training to be a K-POP idol... We're all in a group actually"
"Really? That's so cool." I reply, "I could never do that. I'm terrible at dancing"
"So is he" Jimin responds with a laugh.
"Hey! I'm not that bad..." He retorts.
We all laugh and they continue talking about their choreographies and practices. Eventually the bell rings again, signaling for us to go to our next class.
"It was really nice meeting you today, Y/N!" Taehyung says to me as he disappears into the crowd.
I wave goodbye to all of them, until only me and Namjoon are left. I look up at him only to find that he's already looking at me. A slight blush forms on my face as he begins to speak.
"Uhm, I had a lot of fun today. Want to have lunch with us again tomorrow?" He asks me.
"Sure" I say.
Despite the fun I had, the same question still plagues my thoughts. I have to ask him.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Mhm" he hums.
"Why do you want to talk to me?"

Seeds of Hope (JHOPE) CH3 - What?!

I lean back in my chair and sigh as my chapter finally publishes. Two chapters done already! I close my Wattpad tab, get up and leave my apartment.
Exiting the building, I walk the crowded cement for a while before choosing a place to eat lunch. I walk up to the counter and order.
"Hello and welcome! What can I get for you today?" The cashier says.
"Hi! I would like a large fry and a medium drink, please."
"Coming right up!" She grabs a cup and hands it to me, "Here is your cup, go ahead and fill it up over there!"
She motions towards the soda fountain. I thank her and leave to fill up my cup.
I gawk at all the options. I'm used to only water and coffee, but look at all the choices! Making my decision I reach for the Sprite dispenser, but another hand brushes against mine at the same time.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I apologize, jumping out of the way.
"No no no it was my mistake! Please, you go first!" A voice all too familiar to me says.
"You first, I didn't realize how long I had been standing there. It must have been annoying," I say with a laugh as I lift my gaze.
"Wait... J-HOPE?" unknowingly I drop my cup. J-Hope had been standing there this whole time and I didn't even realize? His hand had even touched mine!
I bend down and pick up my cup whilst trying to hide my blushing face.
"Oh, you know me?" He stutters back to me.
"Y-yeah! I'm Army!" As if this situation couldn't get any more awkward, it had to be with my idol.
"Y-you're..." I pause, gathering up the courage to say what I'm about to say. "You're actually my bias."
"That's so cool!" He says enthusiastically, "I didn't think I had any fans, haha."
I can tell he's looking at me, but still I attempt to hide my face.
He starts to speak again, more nervous this time, "If that's the case, would you like to have lunch with me?"
✿
After we both receive our food, we pick a table and sit down.
"As you probably know already, I'm J-hope. You can just call me Hoseok, or oppa." He tells me, "Anyways, I realize I never asked you for your name!"
"O-oh!" I reply, still shocked at my current situation. "My name- I'm Stacy. Stacy Waters..."
"Stacy... I like it!" He says.
"Thank you!"
"That's not a Korean name though, where are you from?" He asks.
"I'm from the States" I answer. "But my eomma is Korean, so we moved here to be closer to her family."
"Oh really? Your Korean is really good though!"
"Haha, thanks. My eomma taught me a bit."
✿
We continue to talk as we eat our food. Even though we don't have a lot in common, we still enjoyed a nice conversation. I feel like we're good at opposite things, like how he's good at dancing and I have terrible rhythm. He's also a very hopeful person (like his name), whereas I tend to lean towards the more negative side of things. Despite this I felt like we got along great, if anything better because we're so different.
We talked long after we had both finished our food. Eventually, it was time to go.
"Wait..." Hoseok stopped as he searched the backpack he was carrying.
He pulled out a pen and started writing something on his receipt. After he finished he held it close to him and continued.
"I-I had a really good time today. It isn't often I get to talk to people outside the company." He took a deep breath before speaking again, "This is my phone number. I'd like to meet again... only if you want to, that is..."
"I'd love to." I took the paper from him and gently folded it before putting it in my back pocket.
He smiled at me, "Cool! Er- Thank you! Uh... See you again soon?"
I laughed at his awkwardness.
"Definitely."
Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH1 - Card Declined

As I'm checking someone out, a masked figure enters the shop. I continue scanning the items for the current person, but when they leave, I glance at the cameras around the store and find him browsing the aisles.
When he comes to the register, I scan his items like normal. He gives me his card to pay with, and instantly a beeping rings through the store and a red message pops up: "DECLINED".
"Oh no, I'm so sorry, I'll go put it back..," He mumbles, a blush of embarrassment present on his face.
I sigh, "it's not that much. Just take it."
"Are you sure? I don't want to steal and-"
"It's no big deal. Have a good day, sir." I respond.
"I'll repay you, I promise! Thank you so much!" He grins, running out the door.
——————-
The day was moving very slowly. Despite being 6 hours into my shift, it felt like a million had passed. I don't see anyone in the store, so secretly I pull out my phone and begin scrolling through social media.
"Umm... is this register open?"
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I got distracted. Yes, it is!" I toss my phone to the desk and begin scanning items.
I was so busy scanning that I hadn't even looked at the customers face before asking for a payment method. When I did, I felt myself fall back a bit, catching myself on the counter.
"Y-you-... you're"
"Haha, yeah." He muttered.
"I'm sorry, you probably get that all the time. How will you be paying today?"
"Cash." Jin replied.
He passed me some money and I counted, "Um, I'm not sure we have change for a $100..."
"It's alright, keep the change." He smiled.
"I'm afraid I can't do that J- er, sir. What you're buying is only $17.89" I stutter.
"It's a tip. Call it a gift from a friend" He winks, then promptly exits the store.
I stand there 🧍 starstruck, a bunch of 20s in my hand. Initially, this day was going pretty terribly. First the incident this morning that I was going to have to pay for, then 6 hours of boredom. Now, I got to meet Jin AND got a huge tip?
The grin doesn't leave my face for the rest of the day.
————————-
When I get home, I turn on my K-pop playlist and begin washing the dishes. Whenever Jin starts singing, I smile to myself. I can't believe that happened!! Was that even real?
Hidden Behind a Smile (JIN) CH2 - Coffee Shop

The bell rings and someone walks in the store. Instinctively, I stop dancing and continue work normally. When I'm done, I return to the register in time for them to check out.
"Hey! You're the guy from yesterday! Did you get your card situation worked out?" I ask.
The masked guy mumbles, "Yeah, sorry about that..."
"It's no problem!" I smile.
When I finish scanning the items, he turns away and folds something into the tip jar.
"Oh you don't have-"
"Thank you... for yesterday" He says so quietly, I almost don't hear it, "if you'd be open to it, could I maybe treat you to a coffee some time?"
"Oh, I don't know when my schedule is free..." I flip through the papers on my desk, trying to find my schedule.
"It's okay. Never mind"
"March 17th! I'm free then!" I shout, "Here's my number, text me the details" I scribble down my phone number and rip it off of my schedule, handing him the slip.
"O-okay" He takes it and walks outside.
Oh no. Was I too forward? I was just excited to hang out with someone, I lost track of my social skills. Oh no no no. Now he probably thinks I was hitting on him...,
I mean, he was kinda cute...
WHAT AM I THINKING? I can't cheat on my ultimate bias. It's Jin or no one. I will look forward to meeting a friend though.
—————————————
March 17th came around and I was in sheer panic. The same question that we all face, what should I wear?
I settle on a thick beige sweater that I button up and tuck in to my black skinny jeans. Grabbing my bag, I walk out the door and down a few blocks before arriving at the small cafe we agreed upon.
When I arrive, he's already sitting at a table. He waves at me.
I sit down. He has a drink in his hands and two are resting in front of me.
"I um.. didn't know what you'd want so I just ordered two. I hope that's okay" He giggles.
"That's fine! What are they, though?" I curiously pick up one.
"You have to guess!" He mischievously smiles behind his face mask.
"Ugh, come on." I groan.
Taking a sip of the first one, I immediately put it down and repeatedly shake my head no, "That has no sugar at all! Did you order just straight black coffee?"
He laughs uncontrollably, "Yes."
"That's so mean! How could you do that to me.." I pout.
"Okay okay, try the next one" He wipes a tear from his eye.
I hesitate before bringing the straw to my lips. A milky mixture fills my mouth, hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. I swallow the drink then investigate the receipt.
"Hey! No cheating! What do YOU think it is?" He steals the receipt away and looks into my eyes.
"Uh, nutmeg, cinnamon, maybe... caramel? Like a caramel latte?" I guess.
"Close!" He says, "It was a caramel macchiato"
I take another sip, "I taste it now! That was good, you really tricked me." I laugh.
We continue drinking our beverages (minus the americano he ordered previously) and get to know each other. We both like the color purple, he used to go to the college I'm going to now, and he has the most unique laugh I have ever heard.
"I can't believe we've talked this long and I don't actually know your name" I laugh, "Or did you tell me and I forgot?"
He hesitates, "um.. that,"
I follow his gaze out the window. Then back to him, "What is it?"
"You forgot! Yeah, haha that's what happened. You forgot it." He replies.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" I say, pondering what his name was. I don't remember him telling me, but then again I've been so busy these days. It'd be easy to forget. I must've seen it on his card when he checked out the other day..., was I even paying attention?
"It's okay." He smiles behind the mask, "You never told me yours though!"
"Oh! My name is Y/N" I grin, "What's yours then?"
"No! You have to guess."
"C'mon! What's with all these games? Just tell me."
"J" He replies, "It starts with a J."
"I'm too tired for this. I'll just call you J" I say.
We laugh and continue our drinks until they're empty. Eventually we have to leave, walking together out of the cafe.
"Oh, I didn't realize it was raining.." I look down at my curled hair and sweater, cursing the rain pouring from above.
He looks at me, "Did you walk here?"
"Yeah" I respond.
He starts taking his jacket off to give to me.
"Oh no! You don't have to, you'll get way too cold!" I say, shoving the jacket back into his hands.
"I'll be fine. You don't want to ruin your pretty outfit." He says.
I blush at his compliment. Accepting his jacket, I shrug it over my shoulders, taking note of the faint smell of his cologne.
"I guess, this is goodbye then" I frown.
"No, I'll text you this evening. It's not goodbye, just see you later." He waves and runs off into the rain.
"That boy..." I smile to myself before walking back to my apartment.
Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH3 - Visiting the Flower Shop
(Yoongi POV)
"Did you talk to her?? Did you like her? Are you guys going on a date soon?" Hoseok bombardes me with questions the second I walk through the door.
"Woah- slow down. We just chatted for a bit, why the rush?" I ask.
"Ah, I should've figured as much." He pouts and goes back to the shipping label he was printing for an order.
"...I did get her number though"
"WHAT?!?!?!?"
——————————————————————————
"So she's coming over tomorrow? What are you going to wear?" Hoseok asks.
"The same thing I always do? She's just going to look at my lyrics.., It's not like a date."
"Sure. It's not a date. I believe you."
"It isn't!" I yell back, my face starting to burn red.
"Haha! You're blushing! I told you you'd like her~" He sings while running out of the room.
Damn it, Hoseok. He always overreacts. What's the big deal, anyway? Is it not normal to invite someone over? Or to give them your number?
...Is it?
*ding*
I pull my phone from my pocket and read the message.
Y/N: Hey! Just checking to see what time you wanted me to come over tomorrow :)
I blink rapidly, trying to comprehend the text in front of me. I start to type out a response, "Anytime is really fine. We're not busy."
Y/N: Alright! See you tomorrow then! 😃
I set my phone back on the table. Hoseok walks in, "What was that dinging sound earlier? Did she text you?"
"Yeah"
"WHAT DID SHE SAY?" He yells while grabbing my phone from the table. As he scrolls through the messages, he says, "You didn't even respond to her. It's rude to leave people on read, y'know."
"There was nothing left to say" I respond.
He starts typing something out and hits 'send'.
"Much better!" He replies.
"What did you do??" I reply, panicked.
He hands me the phone to show the message, reading: I can't wait to see you 😊
"HOSEOK!! I would never say that! That's so dumb, she's gonna think I like her or something."
"Don't you?" He smirks.
We're interrupted by another ding from my phone. Hoseok gets to it before me and reads out the message, "Oh? Catching feelings already?"
—————————————————————————
(Y/N POV)
Why did I send that?? I question myself. I hardly even know him, I shouldn't be joking like this.
I type out another message to clarify the previous one.
Y/N: Just kidding. You better not haha
Yoongi: Why? Do you have a boyfriend?
Y/N: I might.
Yoongi: What's his name?
Y/N: Okay, I don't. You still better not catch feelings, I know how tempting I am ;)
Yoongi: I promise.
I set my phone down on the counter, giggling to myself as another customer walks in.
"Hey! What can I get for ya?"
——————————————————————————————————
Before I step out of the cafe to go to the coffee shop, I give myself one last look. I'm currently wearing a gray sweatshirt with black jeans and my tennis shoes. Wow. I really chose to not dress up at all.
It's too late to change though and I wouldn't anyways. I step out and walk a step or two before opening a new, different door.
"Hi! Welcome to- OH HEY Y/N!!" Hoseok greets.
"Hi" I timidly grin as I step into the shop.
"Yoongi's just in the back- I'll lead you there!"
I follow him behind the counter into a large room with long, black tables and shelves covered with foliage.
"Yoongi~ your date's here" Hoseok calls to him.
"I'M NOT-"
"SHE ISN'T-"
"Relax! I'm just kidding. Have fun you two!" And with that, Hoseok goes back to the front of the store.
Yoongi turns around and makes eye contact with me, a small smile playing on his lips.
"h-Hey" I say apprehensively, breaking the eye contact and instead glancing down at my worn sneakers.
"Uh, hi. Here, you can sit next to me." He turns away, his face turning a pale pink.
I walk over and sit on the stool next to him. Despite the large room, I still feel too close. I fumble with my hands and bite my bottom lip. I didn't realize this would be so awkward. Why did I agree to this? And why is it so much easier to chat with him when it's over text?
(Yoongi POV)
This was so much easier when it was Hoseok writing the messages... I tap my pencil against the desk while looking over the pages of lyrics in front of me.
"U-um this- er.., these are the lyrics I have so far. They're pretty new so if they don't sound good then-"
"You read my writing yesterday. Don't worry, I'm not gonna judge yours" She smiles sweetly at me while gently pulling the papers from my hands. I watch timidly as she reads through them.
"These are really good" she says, turning back to me, "but- well..," She pauses in thought.
"You can say it, it's okay" I say.
"It's just, well, they leave me a little heartbroken."
Her words surprise me. Heartbroken?
"It sounds like you've been through so much, and I just," her voice wobbles and a tear escapes her eye.
I rest my hand on her shoulder, "Hey, hey, why are you crying? I'm okay, we're fine."
She turns to me, her teary eyes sparkling under the fluorescent lights.
"I don't want you to have gone through that. That's so terrible. I want you... to be happy" She turns away, "You deserve to be happy."
A light laugh escapes my lips, "First of all, you don't know me. Maybe I don't deserve to be happy."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!! You're a good person and you deserve to be happy! I just know it!"
I gasp at her outburst. Everything, the pout on her lips, the dark blush on her cheeks, her passion, the way she defends me when I can't even defend myself, all of it draws me to her. This is the first time, in so long, that I've felt... loved. She doesn't even know me and yet, her presence feels so warm.
"Thank you."
Why am I already so attached to her?
Am I...
Falling for her?

𝄆𝄞 Late January, 2013 𝄇
I wrap my scarf loosely around my neck and step out of the house. I stare down at the familiar path of bricks under my feet as I walk to school. The sky is the same shade of gray and despite the brisk wind, there are no leaves on the trees to be rustled.
When I get to school, I sit down at the back of the room and pull out my book to read. My classmates bicker around me but I don't look up, lest I be reminded of my own loneliness. I shut my book tightly once the bell rings, noticing someone sitting only a few desks in front of me. It was Namjoon. I had liked him since around November but learned better than to get my hopes up. He wouldn't even be friends with someone like me. It's not that he was necessarily popular, but he did have some friends. I rarely spoke, so he most likely didn't know my name.
Lessons began and I tried to keep myself from staring. It isn't like anyone would really notice though, as I am in the back corner. It's better if I don't encourage myself and just suppress these feelings like I always have.
Soon enough my classes are over and I'm walking back home. As I go, I notice two girls around my age chatting with each other. They're laughing and seem to be having such a good time, I can't help but feel envious. I haven't had a best friend like that in such a long time. I only start to feel worse listening to what they're saying.
"I know! Taehyung really is so hot... if only he'd notice me!"
"Yeah, but have you seen his friend? What was his name..."
"Namjoon?"
"Yes! He's in one of my classes, I want to get to know him"
"You should!"
"But what do I say?"
"Don't worry about it! I'm sure he likes you back anyway"
"I hope so"
I keep my head down and continue walking. Still, their words get to me. They were both so pretty...oh course he'd go for someone more like them. I'm confident in who I am. Really. It's just that Namjoon is nothing like me. He has plenty of friends and admirers, all of them do. He is going to date someone in his social circle, like them.
Once I get home I grab some banana milk from the fridge and sit down at my desk. Pulling out a pen, I work on my manuscript.
𝄆𝄞 Namjoon POV𝄇
"What's her name?"
I turned to my friend Hoseok and smiled.
"y/n"
"Wait... how long have you had a crush on her?"
"Since spring last year, around April"
"It's almost been a whole year!" Jungkook whined, "why are you only telling us this now?"
"I was nervous! I haven't even talked to her..."
I looked up at my friends who were shocked by my confession. Finally, Jimin spoke up:
"You need to make a plan soon if you ever want her to notice you. You're both graduating this year, remember?"
"I know, but what do I even say to her? She's just so... so perfect. I don't want to ruin any chance I have by saying something stupid"
"Well, you've liked her for this long. Do you know of anything she likes?" Taehyung questioned.
"Hmmm, she's really intelligent. She also really likes books, every time I see her she's reading one. Would that work? Should I try talking to her about that?"
They seemed to approve of that. After talking for a bit longer, I went home and made a plan. Tomorrow I will try talking to her before class starts.
𝄆 𝄞 𝄇
The next day I got up earlier. I walked to class and didn't get distracted talking to people. I was determined. I didn't realize until I settled down in my seat that there were still over fifteen minutes before homeroom would start.
After waiting for only a few minutes, she walked in. She took my breath away, though she was just wearing our school uniform. I started fiddling with my hands under my desk, the nerves getting to me. Slowly I stood from the desk and approached her.
"Um... hi" I mumbled.
She glanced up from her book and immediately her eyes widened. She opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out. Did I upset her?
"I just uh.... Wanted to know what book you're reading?"
"Oh." She hesitated, "it's just... something I found in the library. It's in a series actually"
"Nice. Sounds good"
She nodded and looked back down to the pages.
"...maybe I'll check it out"
With that I returned to my seat, hoping it wasn't too obvious how flustered I was. That was my first time actually talking to her! It was so awkward though... Does she not like me? Was something I said wrong? She seemed so indifferent.
𝄆𝄞 Y/N POV𝄇
I stared down at my book but unable to focus at all. What was that? Did my crush actually just talk to me? What is happening?
I sigh to myself. He probably just likes reading too, and wanted to know what book it was. I'm sure it's nothing personal, he doesn't even know my name. Still, a part of me feels excited, like maybe I have a chance.
