... i may or may not be making some sort of vtuber model thing for Barry Steakfries.......

i haven't got too much done yet since i'm still getting used to Gimp and using a drawing tablet, but i've gotten his eyes fully coloured so far! this is based off Barry's rig in his vlog series and i thought it'd be funny if i tried to make a vtuber model of him with no prior experience. i still need to properly align his facial features so they might look a little wonky right now.

this is kinda showing what his eyes are gonna look like and is slightly more updated than the previous screenshot. ignore any slight colouring bullshittery you may see in the middle of his pupils :3

this is the original sketch i did as a base for my digital drawing :P his eyes are a little too close to each other and his jaw is slightly skewed, so that's gonna be fixed when i get to finishing drawing his face. can't wait to colour it all !! this is mainly a personal project for myself, so no guarantee on when (or if) this will be finished/released since i have no idea what i'm doing technical-wise with the whole mapping-everything-together-and-hoping-it-works schtick, but we'll see :) i might use Live2D for him based on a simple tutorial i saw for making vtubers and whatnot. i find it so funny that i'm doing this despite not even being a vtuber nor wanting to be one, i just think Barry being a vtuber is funny

anyway,,, barry vlog vtuber sequel real (maybe)

everyone likes to make fun of Pepperman for looking like an apple, but i've never seen anyone call him a capsicum before...... i like to think calling a pepper a capsicum in the Pizza Tower universe is like calling someone an imbecile or something incredibly demeaning, and Barry has no idea because us people in Australia usually call bell peppers 'capsicums' :P

i've been updating the Barry vtuber model a lot since yesterday's post and so far i think he looks really nice! i accidentally hyperfixated on drawing him and stayed up until like 11 PM drawing the rest of his head, so uhh,,, audhd win??? i think???? i dunno, here's the updates i've made to Barry:

this was one of the additions i did last night after the post. i drew up the rest of his chin and went ahead and coloured him in :) i added his beard and made a start on shading it, using colours from that one JJ2 promo artwork of Barry with his thumb up, you know the one,, he's already starting to look a lot more complete than yesterday!!

here i've drawn his mouth and added more shading to the side of his face, as well as little wrinkles near his eyebrows. if you squint hard enough, you can see some little discoloured pixels near the shading of his beard and the shading of his skin. that's cause i used the magic wand tool when shading his skin and didn't realise it until after i shaded it,, i'll fix it later if i don't forget :)

he has an ear now!! that's,,, that's kinda it really. those numbers at the top are there to tell me which brush thickness i used for certain sections of his hair. speaking of hair...

Barry now has a hairline :) not a complete hairline at this point, as i needed to fix up the sizing to make sure it doesn't skew oddly and make him look like he got a fucked up haircut. you can see that the left (Barry's left) part of the hairline goes out too far because i just pasted it on there to see how it'd look. also he has two ears now :P

... and here's how he looks as of right now! Barry now has a full hairline, proper line colouring, improved spacing in between his facial features and he now has the brand new feature of staring directly into the very culmination of your being :) now that i've repositioned his eyes, i realise just how weirdly cross-eyed he was before,, drawing them like that might have been a side effect of being inspired by the way eyes in MLP are kinda positioned close to the middle when they're looking ahead,,,

if you're wondering what all those tiny rectangles everywhere are, they're there as a sort of rough measurement tool to make sure everything is relatively lined up. it's basically a way to count how many pixels high or across something is from another asset so i can realign it. for example, Barry's eyes are 52 pixels across from where the whites of his eyes start in the middle of his face. if that sounds confusing, take a peek at the little lines in the whites of his eyes and you'll see that's where i was measuring. if you look closely you can see a tiny little '52' in the middle of his face from when i was counting :)

that's it for my progress on Barry's vtuber model stuff. again, this is mainly a personal project, so i may not finish it until much later if i lose interest, but i'll try to get him done in a reasonable amount of time. he's already looking good so far :)

i LOVE this image so much :D i love seeing Barry's softer side and the fact that him and Flash read together and that Barry cares about him so much is just so heartwarming and adorable,.,.. (i like to think that after the events of Level 2, him, Flash and Craig do this all together as a sort of family y'know? family bonding time and reading fairytales with each other :) i think that's really neat)

this image is just really funny to me :) this one's from the Robot Bird rock opera. it's really funny cause like, imagine hearing your phone ring right, and you wonder "hmmm who could that be" and you pick up your phone and the only thing you see is this. you don't know who this man is or how he found your number and the very first impression he makes on you is a picture of him planking in the middle of a park. do you pick up or is that image alone too intimidating to answer?

i love how Barry just gets this blank expression whenever he's confused about something, like Craig tries to explain something basic and Barry is just gazing absentmindedly at him like "😶 huh" it's so funny XP
