As Someone Who Was In The Fandom Before The Netflix Series Came Out, It's Really Funny To See People's
As someone who was in the fandom before the Netflix series came out, it's really funny to see people's reactions to Liam.
Because I remember how the fandom went crazy and hated Henry Cavill when it was announced that he had been casted. Geralt The Bodybuilder was heavily criticized because anyone who has read the books knows that Geralt isn't supposed to be that big (or conventionally attractive, but hey). However, Henry Cavill charmed the audience with his public image and yes, changing the actor in one of the leading roles is fucked up. That's not the point.
The point is how quickly everyone forgot about that grievances, and now I see complaints all over the internet about Liam not being swole enough????? Peak comedy.

Tbf I haven't seen much rudeness that hurt me personally I have however seen the double standard in this fandom. It's just a small group and it's so glaringly obvious. They think we don't see it but we do.
Well, I think double standards are present in every fandom. I was just naive enough to believe YR fandom was better. You're right, it's always a small amount of people, but they are also the loudest. Once again, it's a common thing. I just usually stay aside from fandoms to avoid all this drama and people who take an opinion different from theirs as a personal insult.
Poor Simon can't finish their Christmas dinner because his boyfriend doesn't want the dinner, he only wants snuggles

I agree on drop in quality, but at the same time I really think shorter seasons are better for most series. I can think of some "old" shows that could be much better if they'd have less episodes and concentrated more on the main plot. Only six episodes per season is a crime though (and here I think of In the Flesh only having three episodes in first season... rip)
I do not understand why most TV shows now have fewer episodes, with each episode being shorter, but the quality of the writing has not improved. In the past, shows used to have many more episodes per season with better writing. What happened to cause this drop in quality? Sigh!
I'm this 👌 close to write kind of a dark-crack (it's not a term but I don't care) for that scene where Wille goes mad
Omar talking about Simon breaking up with Wille at the end of Episode 5 in t.v. guide

"Wille and Wille's family became really human for Simon," Rudberg said. "Before it was more, 'the Queen and the King.' Where now he goes to Wille's home for the first time and it becomes real — and he realizes this family is so broken." In that scene, Simon is torn between wanting to support Wille and wanting to protect his own heart. "He really wanted to be there for [Wille], but he just feels that whatever he's doing, he's not the one that is going to save Wille," the actor continued. "The only person that could save Wille is Wille himself."
Throughout this season, Simon has put in serious effort toward the relationship. "[He] was fighting against all of their issues and was trying to fix everything because he loves Wille, because he wants to be with him," Rudberg said. But after watching Wille express his true feelings to his parents, it became apparent to Simon that some things were out of his control. "I can only save myself for now and save my family. And you have to do the same thing," Rudberg explained, in character.
The actor continued. "Simon always says, I try to be there for him, but everything that I do makes it all worse," he said. "And this was definitely the last straw where he was like, get your sh-- together, man."
Rudberg said Simon was witnessing pain everywhere — and experiencing it himself. "Your family's hurting, you're hurting and that's hurting me and my family," the actor described of Simon's thoughts toward Wille. "That's why [Simon's] got to protect himself at the end of the day."
Rudberg also spoke about what this exchange means for his character. "Simon is a strong person where he prioritizes himself a lot," the actor said. "But I definitely think this was the first time he actually made a statement for himself, where he's like, I'm actually not okay. And I have to leave."
