i’ve never been super happy with how i color mari, decided to do a little test to shake off some art block

i like the ‘fixed’ coloring more as it’s just. pleasing on the eyes i guess?? and i like having small color differences for my au designs so im happy with mariblanc and feline blue designs :)

she is just a cutie at the end of the day really

I think her canon design is super cute, but also fairly simple, so I wanted my ‘fixed’ tikki to have a more bright, magical girl kinda vibe lol

mbau tikki has a less saturated palette mainly cause I think it works well with the other characters and it kinda works thematically? fbau version has more saturated colors cause. I can. and just slightly different physical traits. Her ‘tail’ (idk if it really counts as a tail but whatever lol) is significantly smaller from stress :)

these were fun! i’m glad i made the main bugs and cats, perhaps a turtle and fox will be next

will you add any ocs in your au?

I won't really be adding any OCs. But I WILL add characters from past concepts and eras of miraculous that didn't make through canon (like from the PV, quantic kids, etc etc), and adapt them to fit some storylines.

I think those are the ones I'm most certainly going to add:

I think there's no confirmation on who is the first character, but there are some speculations that she was originally supposed to be Sabine. So I'm going to use her design for Sabine's sister (that is mentioned in hack San, the Shangai special etc) and, since Sabine was apparently supposed to be a lawyer at that time, I'll also be giving this role to her sister.

The second one was supposed to be the police captain, and since (I think) Roger isn't the police CAPTAIN, I'm also going to add him. Though I have some storylines already planned for him, I'm very scared to accidentally make him just like a spiderman police captain but without any interesting additions to it (and make him just be generic and boring) lol, so many stuff could change. And I'll definitely not remove Roger, so who knows, maybe in the future I'll give his plotlines to Roger (though I don't think some of them would really fit him well)

And there's also this guy:

Who was apparently supposed to be marinette's uncle from Tom's part of the family, and that teached her some martial arts? So I'm still thinking if I should add him or not (though I think having someone to teach Marinette how to fight would be nice, but I think that's also kinda fu's job hahah so who knows)

Anyways, I think these are the ones I have thought the most about adding, thought about some plotlines and etc. If an old character doesn't get a role, I'll probably just use them as background characters to fill small roles, etc.

In the end, I'm kinda scared of adding way TOO MUCH characters, specially since most characters from the specials are also gonna have (new and different) roles- and there's many seasons and specials coming that will likely have many new characters that could give me interesting ideas. So everything will be rethought, eventually.

But yeah, while I won't be adding any OCs, I'll definitely be adding characters that aren't in canon (but that were official at some point) hahah

I made a version with my "normal" style and a simpler version- I really want to develop a simpler style so I can use it in some scenes IF I do the comic for my AU, so I'm doing some tests by now. I wanted to make the coloring more interesting than that, but I think it is ok.

Those designs are definitely not the final ones, specially ladybug's- but I knew that if I waited until I got satisfied with the designs I'd probably never post it lol. I also changed her hair a little bit.

At the same time that I do want to post a lot about my AU, most of it is either something I'm afraid to be a spoiler or something that can change/has not be fully decided yet. So it can take a while before I start posting actual relevant stuff about it.

Eu fiz uma versão com meu estilo "normal" e uma versão mais simples- quero muito desenvolver um estilo mais simples pra poder usar ele em algumas cenas CASO eu faça a comic pra minha AU, então tô fazendo alguns testes por agora. Queria q a pintura ficasse um pouco mais interessante que isso, mas acho que ficou ok.

Esses designs definitivamente não são definitivos, especialmente o da ladybug (inclusive, mudei o cabelo dela um pouco)- mas eu sabia que se eu esperasse até ficar satisfeita eu nunca ia postar kkkk

Ao mesmo tempo que eu quero postar bastante sobre minha AU, a maior parte dela é ou algo que eu tenho medo de ser spoiler, ou algo que pode mudar/que eu não decidi totalmente ainda. Então talvez demore um pouco até eu começar a postar coisas de fato relevantes sobre ela.
