Another post of my version of Persephone 

I’ve seen other ppl make Atreus’ kiddos I figured I'd get in on the fun.

In order:

[-] Story below, kinda long[-]

Atreus began having visions of their children, specifically how they’ll meet their demise, either imprisoned or straight up killed. It horrified him, even more so upon realizing Angrboda and Sigyn would also pay a tragic price for it as well. They began putting great distance between themselves and the women they cared for. There was no romance, but it was still strange considering Atreus usually spent a great deal of his time with the giant and goddess. He thinks if he keeps them at arm's length, they’ll be sparred their tragic fates, and by extension, these children doomed by prophecy. It ends up back firing.

More visions haunted Atreus sleep, ironically these visions are happier, children laughing, he swears he can see their faces almost. Him, Angrboda, and Sigyn are together, happy and at peace. One of the children run up to him, wanting to show him something. He sees a smile, innocent and joyful. It feels awful, like poison mixed with honey. Was this the punishment for defying fate so drastically? 

He doesn't sleep as much and it shows, his eyelids already blackened from his short imprisonment by Odin, the snakes venom causing severe damage. But now the bags under his eyes are more obvious. For every question asked regarding his wellbeing, he’d deflect it with some excuse, his divine duties getting to him. Nobody really fell for it but they knew pushing him would only send him away. 

Angrboda and Sigyn were equally worried and frustrated, Atreus looked like he was falling apart and the few seams he had. Dodging question after question and conveniently always having somewhere to be. One day they were together, talking about whatever, their duties, practicing magic. Healing from whatever ached them, and then suddenly Atreus is distancing himself from them. 

Then it hit her, it wasn’t completely impossible, Norns knows she’s had her own over the years. It’s only a theory, but it’s better than nothing. Angrboda ponders, what if Atreus is having visions and they’re avoiding everybody because of it? She’s heard stories of people were willing to do to avoid fate. She knows Atreus and his family share a strong distain for fate. 

But what could he be seeing that was so bad that he’d just start cutting himself off from everyone? She spoke of her theory to Sigyn, she agreed that it was very possible. 

All they had to do was find Atreus and ask....

The Wedding and Coronation of Persephone...

Another redesign of Persephone. I really liked this panel in the comic.

The final line for Atreus, they're 8′3 and would be in their mid 30′s but they're not ageing anytime soon. I tried to make the body look androgynous as possible.

Details for the outfits below left-right

[1] The outfit they wear when traveling, the skull was a gift from Hel, she decorated it and put blessings on it, the eyes actually move and the markings glow. 

[2] Worn only for formal occasions, they hate it. Will fight you to not wear it.

[3] Something comfy around the house, they love the fur coat. It’s heavy and warm and they fall asleep in it often.

[4] Something Greek inspired, nothing to major, probably only worn on warm days.

[5] Another traveling outfit, favoring mobility. Also the antlers resemble the mask he broke, 3 on each side of their head. Fate isn’t so easily broken...

I was playin BOTW and my aunt said the Great Fairies look like drag queens and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

So I was doin my scholarly shit. And abusing google looking up GOW character and seeing if they held any significance in Norse mythology. Some do actually, very excited for story writing. Then I did some quick research on the best mortal boy Skjoldr. He’s the king of Denmark, very nice, HOWEVER, apparently, he’s a son of Odin and I WHEEZED. I don’t think him being a son of Odin is even HINTED at during the game. 

it made chuckle at the thought that Skjoldr is only son of Odin who is fucked up in some capacity purely he doesn't know Odin is his father and Odin doesn’t know he has a son in New Midgard. So, is he technically a demi-god? Bruh his crush Thrud tho. I thought it was cute now I’m just like well shit bruh. 

From fanfiction writing POV, it would be interesting for Skjoldr to discover this part of himself, go on a whole ass journey, embrace this new part of himself, be a better king than Odin. And also get up to god-like shenanigans with his friends. Dam I wanna write it now, he doesn't get enough love anyway. Imma do it.

The Brightest Star in the night sky, Lokabrenna, Lokis’ Torch. This piece took a while, but I am proud of it. I love researching about Loki and applying it to Atreus. Tricksters got me by the heart 😭

The Ragnarok Like-up! Honestly pretty proud of this one. LORE BELOW!! In order going from left to right

1[-] Concept art; I imagined this is something Atreus would wear as an alt outfit or for warmer weather. 

2[-] Huldra Brothers Armor; Didn’t change much aside from giving Atreus more hair, the braids in their hair match the ones in Sindris beard

3[-] Jotnar Champion Garb; It looks exactly like the Dardale dlc armor. I am still confused about it. I ended up making look more similar to Fayes dress in the mural. Not really something for battle, as the Giants weren’t all hardened warriors. Also styled their hair similar to Fayes. 

3[-] Aesir Uniform👑; I enjoyed this one, less practical & more princely. I wanted the uniform to be a more obvious nod to Odin trying to turn Atreus into a mini him. There was a heavy mix between MCU!Loki & Odin for this design. 

4[-] Fate Breaker Tunic🐺; My favorite outfit to redesign! I wanted the main color this armor to be a blue color, as it’s Atreus main color, gold being Fayes color & Kratos being red. Also the sash being worn more opening, being easily seen & something from his father being displayed proudly. Also wanted to keep the red but it wouldn't be the main color.

Here Pers already has some influence in the Underworld, so does Demeter & Poseidon. Hades doesn’t understand but Persephone ain’t sayin SHIT. She can’t stand the capitalist blue bitch Boi known as Hades.

Seal fight for a necklace

I’m not saying we should've gotten a seal fight between Atreus & Heimdall, but we should've gotten a seal fight between Atreus & Heimdall. HEAR ME OUT PLS. In the OG myth Loki steals Freyas necklace under Odins orders and Freya gets Heimdall to get it back, in GOW it would happen in reverse.

Freya talks about this necklace she had but Odin still has it. She misses it but never says anything about going back for it. Atreus hears this, and promptly goes to steal it back from Odin. Surprisingly he gets away with it while everyone is sleeping. Of course, Odin eventually finds out and gets Heimdall to get it back, (it has no value to Odin he's just petty). Cue the funniest fight in the realms, they fight all the way to Vanaheim. Kratos n Co. see this mess, Thrudd and Skoljr are cheering for ‘Loki’ to win. Everyone is even MORE confused, eventually the two seals shift into people and what in Fayes name WHY ARE ATREUS AND HEIMDALL FIGHTING. 

The fight is scrappy, Atreus bit Heimdall at some point with enough force to break his arm. Sending his ass home wounded in more ways than 1 Thrudd bullying him all the way back home. Atreus gives Freya her necklace and promptly passes out cuz it’s been a long night and he's tired. Next morning, he explains the whole thing over breakfast, everyone is in disbelief except Brok who is a very proud uncle atm. Odin!Tyr is bitterly impressed and us wondering how Atreus snuck into Asgard so easily....[END]

[1] Fayed died cuz she was lying about what she was, and it only started to do damage to her after Atreus was born. Like her lying about her nature and what she was, and it was slowly killing her. 

Also its nuts how this whole ass journey to spread her ashes jumpstarted Ragnarök 100 years ahead of schedule. Jumping into my 2nd theory as for why/how she died. warning this one is more lose and stringy:

[2] Faye knew what future would have looked for Kratos and Atreus if she lived, the distance between her husband & son was awful, it may have never gotten better over the years. Cue 100 years later and Atreus fully resents his father for never being there for him despite living in the same dam house. He abandons the name his father gave him, wanting to sever all ties to him. Embraces “Loki Laufayeson” and then we get regular mythology shenanigans and the end of everything. Except Kratos cuz he can't die, so he’s just alone in his grief guilt n whatnot, and Atreus just straight up dies like in actual mythology. 

She knows something needs to give in order for her husband and son to come together. What do they both love unconditionally and openly? Her. While she isn't immortal I doubt it would be easy to kill her. So she poisons herself, before, she makes sure Kratos WILL spread her ashes at the highest peak in all the realms. She KNOWS Kratos will do this, obviously taking Atreus with. The two will come closer, for her sake. Someone they both cherished deeply, they go on their journey like usual. Its just a matter them doing so triggers the end(Baldor dying). 

Fayes 1st thought was to save her husband and son from their demises and fate, the realms being spared was just a kick-ass bonus. If it meant her death then so be it... 

Anyway thats it for now, this felt more like rambling then actual theorizing but oh well

Since we have canonical version of Faye released, I figured I’d update my Atreus, I changed their hair color and texture. And their skin, which was surprisingly a challenge but a fun one. 

When I was making a new design for Atreus, I debated on whether or not to give them some warmer color in their skin. I wanted him to have some melanin, cuz before Kratos got ashy asf he actually had lovely brown skin. But I also wanted to take into the fact the Atreus sickness left them horrible, pale and dyin. So, I did some coloring picking until my eyes bled from staryin’ at my dam screen.
