I'm going to start sharing my Ouchie Revelations about the last of us here :) I shared them with my sister, but now they shall go here as well :) and they will probably include tlou2 spoilers, so warning for that!

to start of! in the first game, Ellie said she didn't know how to whistle and then she starts whistling later on? it's right after her and Joel crash into that building and there's a bunch of raiders. the tune she's doing is the same as when she was singing/whistling to JJ!!! I know they probably just took it from the first game to do the second one, but AAAA the foreshadowing is just so 👨‍🍳💋🤌 !!!

didn't Joel say the amnesia joke in the second game? still watching the dlc and Ellie just got the joke book and one of the jokes is "I had a joke about amnesia, but I forgot how it goes." doesn't Joel say a similar one in the second game? like during one of the flashbacks? or at the beginning of the game? I think it was "Tommy told me a joke about amnesia, but I forgot it"? I think it was that one

we really do forget that she thought joel was dead

I saw someone else talking about this but this scene is so important because she’s getting all the rage out for everyone she’s ever lost, everyone who’s tried her, everything she’s been through. And what we forget as well is she doesn’t know Joel’s alive at this point. As far as Ellie’s concerned, she left Joel unconscious in the basement with a large group of men after him. She’s hopeful, as she always is, but those stabs are for Joel too, who in her eyes, may or may not be alive.

having read so many fics that include Ellie having real bad ptsd attacks (? I don't know what the term for that is) whenever it's winter makes the second game that much more painful cause Joel died during winter, so they're probably so much worse now

anyways, the shot of the guy in the hospital with a bullet to the middle of his face (I cannot find it) was fucking brutal. will never forgive whoever decided to do that. I think it was Ali Abbasi? I think Craig said he worked on the second game, so he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. that shot was fucking brutal.

it was not the amnesia one! it was "what is the worst part about eating a clock?" I think because he said he forgot what the joke was, I assumed he told two jokes, but nope! just the one about eating clocks :)
