RJG Headscratcher - The Third Species Of Bortronian

RJG Headscratcher - The Third Species of Bortronian

It is stated in BtB7 that there are three species of Bortronian. However, the third species appears to have three distinct types.

When the red, crab-resembling Bortronian server at the restaurant gives Jet and friends their food, Jet says they're the third species of Bortronian and checks it off the list on his tablet. The Bortronian shown on the list is a grey, squid-resembling cyclops, confirming the two are the same species.

The other kind, the yellow Bortronians with two eyes and what looks like fins on their heads, are likely the same species as well.

If all three are the same species, why do they look so different? A plausible theory is extreme sexual dimorphism, but didn't Craig Bartlett say Bortronians were neither male nor female? However, he was referring to Jet when he said that, so maybe he only meant the humanoids?

Since Commander Cressida is a big franchise in-universe, I bet there's live-action movies of questionable quality based on it. The older ones, made in the 80s, were cheesy but camp. The newer ones made since the 2010s are gritty and boring (think the DCEU). Sydney and Dr. Skelley have a soft spot for the 80s movies. When Sydney can't sleep, she turns on one of the 2010s movies, and boom, she's out like a light.
