I also only watched episode 20 one time, as I was literally crying of dissapointment in the end..

For me the ‘5 years past’-theory doesn’t make anything better, because as you said, why have their lives not progressed one bit in the last 5 years..? I mean, that is just sad at this point.. But yeah, I will treat that episode like the 9th season of Scrubs.

Hi, someone told me that Jared confirmed that Dean died in 2025, but I haven’t really seen anyone talking about the fact that they hunted for five years after they defeated Chuck... Have I just missed something, do you know if it’s true?

Hi! Wait, Dean died? In the finale episode Sam and Dean and Jack defeat Chuck, and Jack becomes God. That's how the series ended, and it's really too bad that the final season only had 19 episodes, but covid, so what can we do, eh?

In all seriousness, though, I'm gonna preface this by saying that I only watched the 20th ep once, while brimming with excitement, and not really tracking details, and was so disappointed by the end, I have not been able to bring myself to rewatch it.

Regarding Jared saying it was 5 years into the future, I've only seen one post referencing it in a someone-told-me-he-said manner as well, so I don't know where the rumor comes from, and I haven't seen any receipts or other people confirming. This is only the second time I've heard of it. That being said, I don't recall any indication in the episode itself that that much time had passed (of course, I could be mistaken), so either it was scripted but deemed not important enough a detail to show onscreen, or it wasn't scripted and is J's headcanon.

And the 5-years-later would make it feel worse for me... Like, they waited 5 years to have a conversation about Cas and Jack while they eat pie? Dean has been "okay" (we all know he's pretending to be) and "moving on" but not having meaningful relationships other than with his brother and a dog for 5 years? Like, he's been pining and depressed for 5 years and only finds peace when he dies? I can't...

But it's a good thing there's no such thing as a 20th ep, right? 😅

Bobby really strikes me as the kind of man to not give two fucks about anyone's sexuality. He's read too much lore about non-humans to be so hypocritical as to assume heterosexuality is the default for any living being.

I like the idea that he's seen so much shit he just doesn't care, as long as the people he cares about are happy and no one is hurting anyone else.

He's dealt with so much toxic masculine bullshit from some of his hunter peers that, for the sake of not causing a fuss, he's just rolled his eyes at and hidden behind a book and a beer.

When Dean was a young hunter Bobby could see he was especially close with his male friends, caged by a homophobic father who he tried desperately to please. A father who warped Dean's perception of those friendships and taught him shame and fear of that kind of love between two men.

Bobby was no fool. He saw the way John changed Dean; closed the door on his lingering glances at the guys in the street and catapulted head first into his love for women and booze. But he wasn't about to make the boy's life any more complicated so he just figured one day Dean would figure it out for himself again and he would know that Bobby didn't care at all.

His brand of love was acceptance without prying. Caring for the boy's safety and giving him hell when he needed to hear it. But never, never making him feel shame.

If John ever suspected/caught Dean being too friendly with his buddies, and called Bobby, his response was always:

'He's your son, he's still young and figuring himself out and, shit, he deserves that chance to be young.'

'And your point is? What? So you ain't gonna love 'im? Ain't he proved himself to you time and time again?'

'i don't care what he might've done with any Tom, Dick or Harry, as long he ain't dyin in a vamp nest right now'

Years later, Dean and Bobby never talk about it in so many words but Dean never feels the need to say anything. He just knows that when he finally figures this thing out with Cas, Bobby will understand.

After Cas' death he struggles with the immense pain left by this new hole in his chest that he can't quite fill, and he wishes Bobby was there to just give him that unconditional acceptance again. Even if no words are spoken, he knows he's safe there.

Even in Heaven, Bobby's knowing look when he mentions Cas' name, sends a little nervous warmth across Dean's chest and down to his fingertips. He grips his beer tighter, the bitter taste of his father's disapproval in his mouth, but knowing that the man next to him has his back. Knowing that they both know where he's going to go next and who he's going to be looking for.

Day 25 since 15x20 aired: no, but he did comment ‘go get em cowboy’ on Jared’s Instagram Walker trailer to support his friend. Pure.

That’s not the important bit though- some of y’all have been incredibly disrespectful to his and Misha’s privacy today on both Instagram and Twitter, so I’m gonna lay it out for you:

Do not, under ANY circumstances, share “Cockles” content, opinions, or otherwise with the actors. That is the number one huge ‘No.’ in fandom, guys. A lot of you might be new here and might not have known yet. And I understand, but I’m telling you now that any behavior like that is simply unacceptable. Any attempt to incorporate fan ‘theories’ with real life is essentially just harassment. It’s invasive, and it reflects poorly on the fandom as a whole. Ship what you want here on Tumblr, make up as many crack theories as you want, no one will stop you- but the minute you bring this stuff off this site into real life, that’s when it becomes a problem. Misha and Jensen are real people, with real lives. No matter what fans THINK they know, you/we DON’T actually know them. They aren’t characters, and they don’t owe you/us any answers, and they aren’t just a substitution or replacement for Destiel, because Dean and Cas aren’t real. The actors are. Be better, guys.

I love you all but it needed said. Just play nice in the future. Don’t ruin their friendship for them by making them feel as if it no longer belongs to them. Their relationship is theirs and their alone. Let’s keep it that way.
