weird study tip:
if u don’t feel motivated, pretend ur in a movie or tv show. you know the scenes where they’re on their bed with their feet tucked up and crossed at the ankle, and they’re cracking open highlighters with their teeth and poring over a textbook with smooth rock music playing? that. bonus points for a perfect messy bun and spencer hastings outfit.

ive said it once and ill say it again but if you live in like . california or another state where lgbt shit is decently accepted please be mindful of the fact that others have it worse than you. Indiana very recently tried to pass laws that allow for same sex couples to be banned from restaurants, in lots of states conversion therapy is still legal, and gay people are still beat for simply existing. think about that please

Hey guys! As you may or may not know, my lovely little blog recently reached 8,000+ followers. I hope you all find inspiration in my blog just like I find inspiration from so many of you in the studyblr community :-) So, to celebrate this milestone, I will be hosting a giveaway!
Keep reading to learn more about the giveaway rules and deadline:

studyblr intro post!
Who am I?
My name is Ellie. I’m 16 years old and will be going into my junior year of high school in September. I’m a scorpio sun with an aquarius moon and I’m an INFP. I plan to study nursing in college, specifically psychiatric. I am a native English speaker, and took two years of German classes, but decided to stop taking the class, despite still wanting to learn the language.
What am I into?
I really like finding new television shows to watch, astrology, and learning about interesting topics.
Why did I make a studyblr?
I am not very good at school. I pass by all means but I don’t always do my best. I’m unorganized, have sloppy handwriting, am lazy when it comes to small assignments, and procrastinate until the morning anything is due. I hope that by trying to make a studyblr, I will be more motivated to succeed.
What will I post?
I will mostly be reblogging helpful tips that I find, in no way passing them off as my own. I will be looking for studying tips, language learning advice, and some non-studying related tips, such as self care and playlists.
What are my goals?
1) To become motivated to succeed both school and in my social life
2)To be able to study effectively
3) To be happy with my ability to complete schoolwork
Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Transition Words For Your Essays
Transition Signals:
Transitions are words and phrases that connect ideas and show how they are related.
To repeat and ideas just stated:
In other words,

To illustrate an idea:
For example,
For instance,
In particular,

✧ Disney Playlists in Different Languages ✧

I’ve seen loads of Disney songs posts floating around, but I couldn’t find one which had playlists instead of individual songs. So here’s a compilation of different playlist with over 40 languages.
DISCLAIMER: I didn’t make the playlists, that being said if the language you were looking for isn’t on here, it’s because I couldn’t find a complete playlist but search specific songs and I’m sure you’ll find them. Anyway, happy learning!

Everything You Need To Know About MLA Format
General Format:
8.5 x 11 inch paper
Double spaced
Times New Roman font
12 pt font
Only one space after each period
1 inch margins on all sides
Indent the first line of each paragraph by half an inch
Use a header that includes your last name and page number in the top right hand corner
The First Page:
In the upper left hand corner:
Your Name
Your Instructor’s Name
The Class Title
The Date (Day Month Year)
The title of your paper should be one double-space down and should not be bolded, italicized, or underlined
The beginning of your paper should start one double-space down from the title with the first line indented by half an inch
What to Italicize and Quote:
Book titles are italicized
Play titles are italicized
Poem titles have quotation marks
Article titles have quotation marks
Chapter titles have quotation marks
In-Text Citations:
When you know the author’s last name
(Last Name Page Number) or
(Last Name Paragraph or Line Number)
When you don’t know the author’s last name
(Book Title Page Number)
(Article Title Page Number)
Remember to italicize the book titles and put the article titles in quotation marks
Works Cited Page:
Begin your Works Cited page on a separate page at the end of your research paper. It should have the same one inch margins and header as the rest of your paper
Label the page “Works Cited” (do not italicize or put in quotations) on the top of the page and center it
Double space all citations but do not skip spaces between entries
Indent the second line of a citation by half an inch
List sources in alphabetical order
If the source has more than one author, the first given name appears in last name, first name format and the following authors appear in last name, first name format separated by commas. The last author’s name should be preceded by an “and”
Citing Print Sources:
Book or Poem:
Last Name, First Name. Title of Book or Poem. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Print.
Magazine or Newspaper Article:
Last Name, First Name. “Title of Article.” Title of Periodical Day Month Year: pages. Print.
Journal Article:
Last Name, First Name. “Title of Article.” Title of Journal Volume.Issue (Year): pages. Print.
Citing Web Sources:
Whole Website:
Name of Site. Sponsor or Publisher, date of resource creation. Web. Date of access.
Web Page or Web Article:
Last Name, First Name. “Title of Article.” Name of Site. Sponsor of Publisher, date of resource creation. Web. Date of access.
Online Journal Article:
Last Name, First Name. “Title of Article.” Title of Journal Volume.Issue (Year): pages. Web. Date of access.
Note: Don’t forget to indent the second line in the citation. I did not indent the examples because the indents on tumblr mobile and tumblr desktop differ starkly and I figured this was probably the less confusing way to write the information needed for a citation (trust me)
Unknown Information in Citations:
If the author is unknown, begin citation with the title
If the publisher is unknown, write “n.p.” in its place (no quotation marks)
If the publishing date is unknown, write “n.d.” in its place (no quotation marks)
I hope this guide is as useful for me as it it for you!

Some days I truly believe in the universe’s ability of giving us moments. Not just any moments, but the ones where you feel the sheer bliss of existing in that time frame. The ones you wouldn’t trade for anything else. And something always hits me in these moments - that I’d miss it when it’s over. The sound, the view, and all the smiles and laughter. Even the silence at times. Maybe it’s my fear of endings. Or maybe it’s just not knowing when the next one could be. And I know there can be days that make you believe lesser in them. Maybe even make you feel there are no more of these moments left for you. But one thing I’ll continue to believe in is that although the universe has a habit of taking a lot away, but it gives us just enough. Maybe not all that you wish for at the same time. But partly in these moments.

“True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us."
I want to be the best version of myself. I want to be proud of myself. I want to love myself. I want to achieve my goals. I want to be happy.
It is hard to follow ones dream, to be disciplined, to study, to work out, to eat healthy, etc. Everything that we should do is hard, nothing is easy at all. Yet I would rather exert myself than hate myself and my way of living.
I am ready to change. I want to change.

- 100 days of productivity challenge - always going to do my homework or try to at least - and do them as soon as I have the time to instead of waiting until I must do them - create a study plan for the next two months - be active during class, listen, answer questions, ask questions, get that B in oral - be organized, probably thanks to my bullet journal - try to build a better relationships with all my teachers accept that one stupid ass fucking man who wants me to fail I hate him - read more books, English, German and Italian - always take notes

- gym five times a week - cardio and weight lifting - 3 exercises for ass, 2 for arms and 2 for arms - drink a lot more water - more walking, less bus taking - more bike riding, less bus taking - healthy diet - always use stairs if possible - no more eating 5 hours before going to sleep - three meals, three snacks - never go hungry! never skip meals! - meal prep if necessary - one cheat snack a day because I love sweets and they make me happy

- toxic people are not part of my life anymore, bye - no unnecessary beef anymore - try to not be as stressed anymore, mediate, do some yoga - 8 hours of sleep - fuck boys and girls and every other person who wants to put me down - cleanse, exfoliate, shave, take care of my nails, etc - put my own interests first, take care of myself first - smoke less cigarettes - be thankful, be kind - less negative vibes and thoughts, be optimistic or realistic - listen to my gut instead of my heart - never ever let a toxic man inside my life ever again

- If something is not your problem then it shall never be your problem - Fuck them - Enjoy your life, do what you want - Be honest to yourself, love yourself - Be real to those who are real to you
