Create a modern retelling of the Pygmalion myth. Write your own one- to two- page original story of transformation. Feel free to switch the genders so a female is transforming a male into her ideal, or use animals instead of humans. You can be creative in your retelling, but make sure that you include elements of the original myth.
Everyone told Pyg that someday he’d find someone. They didn’t seem to listen when he said that he didn’t want to find someone.
His brother grown up and married after college, his better half was never not at his side.
His sister had grown up dating, hanging out with everyone, always off to the movies or the park, some poor fool draped on her arm.
But Pyg had grown up to become a sculptor, and nothing else. Pyg simply enjoyed the planning, the chisling, and the sanding. Nothing pleased him as much as feeling the smooth surfaces and beautifully pointed edges of his finished work.
Oh, he’d dated, he’d tried to be with people, he’d tried, and he didn’t like it one bit. They were always too loud, too quiet, too manipulative, too gullible. He couldn’t stand them.
Every family diner he was bugged and taunted over his relationship status. You just need to get out more, At your age I was dating at least three people, I want more grandkids!
And one day, after Pyg had finished his work, Pyg sat down, and thought about everything everyone said. And he thought to himself I do not like others for their flaws, but what if, I made someone with no flaws, someone who does not misunderstand me or try to use me as others do, what if I could make perfection?
So that became his latest project.
After weeks of planning, and working, and careful touch-ups Pyg had succeeded.
It was a beautiful figure, neither too fat nor too thin, with no hint of scarring and no hint of evil, there was no imperfection, not from the smallest of hairs to the last of its toes.
No one was allowed to see it save for himself.
His family poked fun, and his manager begged him to display it, but he would not give in.
The finest of clothes he bought, and the finest of cleansers he used, all for his precious statue.
But no matter how long he stared at it, no matter how close he held it, it never moved. It never breathed or looked him in the eye.
No one noticed when Pyg stopped talking, when he stopped going anywhere than the studio. No one noticed he’d stopped eating.
It had been over a year, and Pyg had been changed by the statue. Every night he stared at it longingly beside him in bed, everyday he thought about nothing but it. He hated it for not realizing him, and loved it for all its perfection.
Then one day, something very strange happened. He’d just left the house, heading with dragging feet to his studio, when someone bumped into him.
They both fell to the concrete in a jumble, he saw nothing but flaming red hair.
“I’m sorry! Sorry! I didn’t mean to!” The person pulled him up into a sitting position, and he came face to face with what seemed to be his statue.
No imperfections touched the strikingly pale face that stared worried at him, perfect pale blue eyes glistened in the grey city light.
“Here, let me, just,”
Pyg was hauled to his feet, their hands were interlocked, his, scarred, bulky fingers gripped with perfect, flawless ones.
“Sorry about that, here, uh, oh dear, I spilled your coffee, uhm, I can buy you a new cup?” The stranger smiled uncertainly, pearly teeth just visible.
Pyg didn’t respond, his mouth didn’t seem to want to do anything other than hang open.
“I’ll just take that as a yes,” The stranger gripped his hand and shook, “I’m Riley, what should I tell the barista to call?”
“Guh-” He shook himself briefly “Ehm, Pyg, just, Pyg.”

My art class has us each focus on a theme for the portfolios we make over the course of the year. Mine is focusing on world building, with a focus on creature and character design. As I’ve been working on it, there’s been a growing focus on a seafaring culture and port city.
Mediums: Coffee, watercolors, charcoal, black acrylic paint

Normally I’d just post the finished painting, but I figured I could try to get some feedback on the sketch before I start painting tomorrow. At this point, I’m not sure if I will put something over the eyes or not.
Critique is requested!

Day two!
At this point, I can only work on this in school, so I can’t get as much done as I’d like, but I like how it’s going so far. Clip studio paint has spoiled me however, it took me half an hour today to get the mask right, while I could have done it digitally in a couple minutes. The color palette is going to be pretty warm, with a lot of yellows and neutral tans.

Perspective drawing I made a couple of weeks ago in class. This is the hallway to the library at my school.
Title: “The Worst Way To Stay Awake.”
I had to make a 3 pg. comic for my sequential art class. It had to have a narrative based on real life and limited colors. This is based off the time @hyoka-ice-demon-stuff and I were in one of the computer labs at school last semester.
Side Note: I watched a bunch of YouTubers playing FNAF to help me with this comic. It was one of the worst moments of my life.

Almost all of the trends go up and to the right = stronger, with the atomic radius going down and to the left = stronger!

Who am I?
My name is Ellie. I’m 16 years old and will be going into my junior year of high school in September. I’m a scorpio sun with an aquarius moon and I’m an INFP. I plan to study nursing in college, specifically psychiatric. I am a native English speaker, and took two years of German classes, but decided to stop taking the class, despite still wanting to learn the language.
What am I into?
I really like finding new television shows to watch, astrology, and learning about interesting topics.
Why did I make a studyblr?
I am not very good at school. I pass by all means but I don’t always do my best. I’m unorganized, have sloppy handwriting, am lazy when it comes to small assignments, and procrastinate until the morning anything is due. I hope that by trying to make a studyblr, I will be more motivated to succeed.
What will I post?
I will mostly be reblogging helpful tips that I find, in no way passing them off as my own. I will be looking for studying tips, language learning advice, and some non-studying related tips, such as self care and playlists.
What are my goals?
1) To become motivated to succeed both school and in my social life
2)To be able to study effectively
3) To be happy with my ability to complete schoolwork

I'm still thinking about the title, but the plot is basically "Monster gets pissed at rude man who also happens to be a terrible father and adopts his abused kid by force".
Heya all you beings out there! Today I’d like to showcase what I’ve been doing in my Bookbinding class this year! Bit of a warning, this is going to be a long post as I’m hoping to show off a few of my favorite books in detail.
First off we have “Bonsai”, an album style binding bound with wire. Inside there are illustrations of the progress of a bonsai that I actually own!
This one might be my favorite! “The Golden Record” is an accordion\maze style book with a wrap around cover. The cover is made of images that can be found on the golden records onboard Voyagers 1 and 2.
Inside is the story of an intelligent race that finds a Voyager and its record! The alien writing is my interpretation of my friend @thevantom ‘s conlang. This is an old version of the conlang, it’s much better now! Thanks Vantom for letting me use it!
Since the book isn’t actually bound to it’s cover, you can completely unfold it to reveal a picture of the Voyager!
A close second for me is “Om Nom Nom”, a French doors/ album binding.
The pages overlap to make it look like the dragons are noming the food!
Next we have I tiny little paperback Japanese stab binding which I call “ How to Make a Japanese Stab Binding”!
I even decorated the bookmark with a mini book for extra mettaness!
Lastly we have an accordion concertina binding, “Aztec Deities”.
