“Daisy? What a cute name for a cute rabbit,” She answers with an ever growing smile.
Despite every harsh thing that she has endured, there was always a gentleness that remained with her. Especially with cute things, like Daisy and Lucie.
When she had a goal, she would always be determined to stick to it until it was completed. This was no time to back away from it in danger like this. However, she was surprised when he agreed to her condition easily. But what mattered now was that she had a chance to find her dad. If not him, perhaps others who didn’t have her. With a chance came hope and it was evident through her ever beaming smile.
“You don’t have to worry,” she said pulling out her crossbow, aiming for the sand bags used as target practice without hesitation. She pulled the trigger and the shot straight through where the head of a monster would be, Piercing through the bag itself.
“The monsters’ have been helping me practice,” She added as she reloaded before she slung it back on her back.
Normally she wouldn’t have ventured as far out as she did, usually sticking to the forests and mountains. But unfortunately, her step-father was in one of the cities when the monsters came. Along with the rays of light that destroyed everything in between.
The crossbow slung around her back was a gift before his departure to the cities. It was useful when it came to dealing with a stray monster from afar, from the experiance gained from using it to hunt, but the ammo was running out. As she searched in the rubble and abandoned buildings for whatever spare materials she could find for arrows, it was there where she met the woman named Mikayla. Well, ‘met’ was a strong word. More like almost pulling off a headshot when she heard the slightest noise from the hallway she inhabited at the time.
But turns out, she was cool, and Mikayla made an offer to her she had no choice to refuse at the moment. And maybe when all the monsters were dead (with help from her hand). So the small girl, roughly in her teens followed her back to here, hoping to do what she can and perhaps find her father here.
It was loud, and everyone was bigger and taller compared to her and her step-father. Especially the man who called himself Diaz. Height wise, she probably came past his elbow slightly.
“Uh...Shima,” She answers looking somewhat shocked at the herculean figure.
“Well, guess that’s settled then,” She nodded.
Already she’s eager to go into the cities once again, as this emboldened her. Perhaps at this rate they’ll find her dad in no time, now that she would be fighting alongside who she could very well consider Hercules. Was he? She had to ask when they were out.
For now, she was hungry. Food would be her quest for the time being. That and to get the arrow back after that.
Sometime later...Within a destroyed city.
Having restocked on arrows, she now walked over rubble with her crossbow in hand ready. She didn’t have any fancy armor like her companions, but she had some fancy goggles. And nice boots paired with her stolen oversized Sharks sweater. She would’ve stolen a cougars sweater, but unfortunately that was her favorite team.
Her dad always told her if she was gonna get covered in blood, she should do it in her least favorite shirt. And the sharks were her least favorite team so there was that. Following behind Diaz, she couldn’t help with the question burning in her mind she had earlier.
Looking up at Diaz, she had to know. “Hey can I ask you something?”
Watching the woman leave, Shima looked back at him, in all the stories she had been told, she never imagined to meet such herculean figures from the stories that her father would tell her. She had never seen one in person, and there could be no denying that she had always wanted to meet one, regardless if it was a man or a woman.
She searches through her pockets to produce a photo of her and a man with glasses. “Not hunting. Fighting.”
“I’m looking for my dad. He left to go to one of the cities for work. I haven’t heard from him since the monsters came. So I came to this city to look for him,” She answered. “Have you seen him?”
