He groaned in annoyance glaring at Soundwave.

"I don't understand why Maccadams always insists we need to train together."

The two of them stepped into the elevator after spending the day training. Because Maccadams forced them to train. Stating that it was very important they bond and learn to work together. However no one else had to do it except for them. Even though everyone besides Perceptor wasn't doing anything.

"Maybe you're so annoying he wants you somewhere where he can't hear you."

He crossed his arms.

"Then I guess he sees you the same way."

The door opened and Soundwave pushed his way out first.

"No he wants me to watch over you because he knows you'll find some way to break the machine."

"No I won't. I don't need you watching over me."

"Really? For someone who acts like a sparkling I find that hard to believe."

Maccadams slid them both energon as they two of them argued.

"You know the Magnesium mountains are a great place to have a picnic and watch the stars."

They both gave him a confused look.

"What's are you talking about?"

"Oh... I'm just thinking out loud. You know we shouldn't let things like walls stop us from getting what we want."

"Okay..."

He quickly escaped with Soundwave the two of them making up an excuse to patrol the area. Not wanting to be around when Maccadams was having some kind of mental break.

He spent the next few days with the Terrans who were a handful, but in a good way. Although it made him ache for his own. He glanced at Soundwave who was also watching the Terrans and wondered what he was thinking. If he'd be interested in starting a family with him.

He walked over as the Terrans called his name wanting to play. He could feel Soundwave watching him as he showed them his outlier ability.

Soundwave who'd been watching Hot Rod in longing. Wanted to have a sparkling with him so badly. Watching him play with the Terrans. He could see what he already knew. That'd he'd be a good carrier for any future sparklings they were to have. The only problem is that he's not sure if Hot Rod would want to have sparklings.

He heard a strange noise behind him and looked over, weapons drawn thinking it was the Autobots of this world. Instead he watched as a portal formed and the others noticed as well. The Terrans came running over despite Dot telling them not to.

He gasped his spoilers fluttering with excitement when he saw his carrier run out looking around in concern.

"Hot Rod!"

"Carrier!"

He rushed over and jumped into his arms. The two of them held each other, crying with happiness because they were finally reunited.

"I missed you."

His carrier kissed his forehead and rubbed his back.

"I've been looking for you this whole time. I was so worried something bad happened to you and that I'd loose you forever."

He buried his face into his carriers neck and didn't mention getting shot or almost dying. Not wanting to upset him even more.

Instead he gave him an excited look.

"I have an announcement to make."

He took Soundwave's hand and proudly announced that they were together.

Perceptor looked shocked and Soundwave seemed nervous. Worried Perceptor would attack him or something. The Terrans had their own questions, which his carrier did his best to answer.

Feeling exhausted he desperately wanted to go home. Both Soundwave and his carrier seemed to understand that and after saying goodbye to the Maltos. The three of them went back to their dimension.

Yeah I've been on vacation. I'll be back later today and then I'll start working on the asks sent to me.

He could hear someone shout and he quickly walked to the beach finding two people fighting over something.

"It's not yours!"

The selkie yelled angrily.

"Know your place beast."

The man shoved the selkie to the ground holding up what looked like a coat but was actually his fur. He gasped staring in horror because not only was it a crime. It was the worst thing you could do to a selkie.

"It's mine! finally mine!"

The man shouted and the selkie cried. Still trying to reach for it and begging the man to give it back. Which he ignored giving him a hungry look.

"You're mine now as long as I have your coat you'll belong to me."

The selkie shook with fear having heard all kinds of horror stories. He thought about all his loved ones he'd never see again and cried. Regretting ever coming to the surface and hanging out at the beach.

"Please."

The selkie begged only to be ignored by the man who continued to taunt him. Until someone else ran over looking angry. He flinched back when he yelled at the man. Watching in shock as he punched him in the face causing the man to crumble.

He looked up at the handsome stranger who was holding his skin. He shivered in fear wondering what he was going to do now.

Much to his shock the man gave it back wrapping it around his shoulders.

"Here you go."

"You're not going to take it?"

He looked at the man in awe and shock because everyone else would have taken it without a second thought, except for him apparently.

"It doesn't belong to me."

He felt a weird feeling in his chest as he stared at the man. A blush dusted his cheeks and he found himself wanting to be around the human more.

Feeling overwhelmed by this strange emotion he'd never felt before. He quickly took off into the ocean promising himself he'd see the human again just as soon as he sorted his thoughts.

Hot rod avoiding Soundwave because he’s afraid of being vulnerable and intimacy

He paced back and forth freaking out. Ever since Nyon he swore he'd never fall in love. Not wanting to bring anyone else down with him. He'd always managed to keep a distance until now.

Faced with the Quintessons and impending doom. He'd somehow managed to get close with Soundwave of all people.

The two of them had finally stopped fighting and began working together. Which is when the problems started. After realizing they made a good team they started hanging out more. At first it was coming up with plans to defeat the Quintessons, but slowly they started hanging out just for fun enjoying each other company.

While everyone else was asleep. The two of them stayed awake staring at the ceiling and talking about random things that didn't have to do with the war or the Quintessons. They had deep conversations where he shared things that had been weighing on his mind for years. Things he'd always tried to hide behind his happy extrovert personality.

He found himself falling for Soundwave which made him panic. He'd worked so hard to separate himself from everyone else and Soundwave was breaking all his walls down. Leaving him feeling exposed and vulnerable.

He needed to do something about his crush before it got worse. He needed to forget about Soundwave otherwise they'll both get hurt.

Even though he tried to stop himself. Knowing this budding relationship would only end in disaster he couldn't bring himself to let Soundwave go.

That's why when Soundwave chose Megatron and joined the Decepticons on the other half of Cybertron, he had no one to blame but himself.
