Imagine:Â Steve at Buckyâs funeral.
Request from: Anonymous
Steve couldnât believe it. Here He was, Just like everyone else... almost everyone. Bucky wasnât there anymore... He was dead... this time really dead, forever. Steve sighed heavily looking at the coffin and later at his hands. He still could feel this terrible feeling of blood on his hands, even when His hands were clean. He still had those horrifying imagines from two days ago. ~~~~ It had to be normal scouting mission, Steve and Bucky didnât expected anything bad to happen, but they bother were really wrong.
Steve looked at Bucky and nodded slowly âIâll go this way and you will go that Way. We got information that Hydra may have base her, We must make sure to clean this place or to make sure those information arenât real.â
Bucky nodded softly âSure, thing Cap. Boring walking around as always. Iâm sure all those information arenât tru.â He smiled
âEven if they arenât we need to be sure. If you find something let me know.â Steve said and walked away into his direction.
Bucky shrugged and walked into his direction.
Steve walked slowly, looking around carefully, Making sure that whole area is clear. After few minutes of walking Steve heard Buckyâs word in his communicator
âSteve  I think I...â and there was only long loud scream. Steve blinked, scared and quickly ran in Buckyâs direction.
There was only few Hydraâs agents, Steve didnât had problem with fighting them. Then He quickly got to His friend who was laying on ground, breathe heavily.
Steve looked at him then at big wound in Buckyâs stomach âBucky...â He said
âI... I donât know... how they... They just... I..â He looked at Steve and he started breath less deep.
âIt doesn't matter now, Bucky. Please... Listen to me, Everything will be fine. Iâll take you back and they gonna fix you.â Steve said and picked him up a bit.
Bucky only hissed and groaned loudly âN-No... Steve... Itâs the end... I canât hold anymore.â
âSure you can!â Steve growled, full of fear and sadness âWe need help here... Â extensive stomach injury. Okay sure... Just move quick.â He said to communicator and looked at Bucky âCome on buddy... Itâs only fifteen minutes... You can hold this.â Steve said holding Bucky.
With time his breath become shallow and he felt weaker with every second âI canât Steve... Not this time.â Bucky said quietly, looking at Steve.
âDonât you dare say this! You canât leave me! Not now!â He said and hugged him.
Steve tried hold Bucky conscious during wait, But this was only thing He couldnât do this time.
When help came Steve get information that made him week in his knees
âWe are sorry, Captain. He is dead.â
In this moment whole world become dark for Steve, He lost His friend one and after He got him back cruel world decided take him away... on forever now.
~~~~
Steve was thinking about this moment, looking how Buckyâs coffin was bury, He was so deep in this moment that He even didnât notice when rain started.
Wanda looked at Steve and walked to him with umbrella âYou need this..â She said softly and gave it to him
He took umbrella âThank you...â Steve only sighed and smiled at her sadly
âEven sky started cry. We all gonna miss him, Steve.â She said and gently stroked Steveâs back âEverything will be okay Steve. You only need time. Ceremony is over... You want go with us or..â
Before She could even end Steve sighed softly âIâll stay here longer... I need to say good bye... once again...â
Wanda only nodded and went with the rest of them, leaving Steve alone. Then He fall on his knees and started cry, hiting ground under him âI couldnât safe you, angain!â He yelled âI lost you again! I should go there... Not you, I would be dead not you!â Steve sighed heavily âI wish I could turn back time... only to safe you. You were only peace of my old life... Now I lost everything... Iâm sorry, pal... angain..â Steve got up and sighed heavily.
He walked away, even when there was whole group of friend, He lost the most important person in his life. It was too hard for him to life with the fact that Bucky is dead.
Summary: Bucky and Steve woke up in Hydraâs base... nothing gonna be so easy now.
He slowly opened his eyes, looking around with unconscious glance. He was in a little room. He almost immediately recognized that place. It was his room in Hydraâs base. âFuck..â Bucky cursed under his breath, slowly sitting at the edge of bed. His head was hurting so badly, he had dizzy.
Few minutes have passed before he was able to rise from his seat. He walked to the door unsteadily, leaning his metal hand against a cold wall for a support. He put hand at a handle and he tried to opened the door, but he quickly realized they were locked.
âNot so quick, soldierâ a soft voice came to his ears from behind. He turned around and frowned. From the shadow of his room appeared a figure. Redhead female. âYouâŚâ he growled, his hands clenched into fists. The woman took a lock of her hair behind her ear. She smirked, her eyes were glowing in a dim light falling to the room throughout a little window placed under the ceiling. âAnd who were you expecting, soldier?â she asked in a soft voice. âSomeone competentâ he snapped angrily in response. Another wave of a terrible headache caused, that Bucky almost lost his balance, so he leaned his back against the metal door. Female laughed, but her laugh was cold like a ice needles. âSo here I am, soldierâ girl without any signs of a hesitation took a seat at Buckyâs bed, her eyes were still on him. âIf you think that someone from captaincy will come to bargain, youâre fucking wrong, honey.â âDonât call me that, fucking slatchâ he threw her an angry glance, what only caused another wave of her laugh. âWhereâs Steve?â Woman slowly, with a grace, crossed her legs. âOur doctors are taking care of him nowâ she said with a shrug. âSo will they about you too, soon.â
Bucky took a deep breath. He only wanted to break her neck, but it wouldnât help at the moment. He needed to invent a good plan, if he wanted to help  himself and Steve. âGet outâ he finally snarled, not even looking at the woman. âI wanna be alone.â
Redhead was sitting still for a moment, then she slowly rose from the place and with a swing in her hips, she approached him. He didnât see a fear in her. She was a weapon. So was he. At least they had something in common⌠He frowned again, when her palm has rested at his metal limb. Her fingers traced a way down, to his palm. âYou see, soldier. Thatâs our fate. To be aloneâ she said, her blue eyes shifted over his body to finally rest at his face.
He couldnât bear it any longer, he couldnât bear her glance, so gently but decisively he pushed her back. âDonât touch meâ Bucky muttered quietly, this time he didnât run away with his own glance. He was looking hardly into her eyes. If this was a test of strength, he couldnât gamble awayâŚ
A little smile crept onto her lips, before she nodded slightly. âMove awayâ she ordered coldly, so he did. He shifted aside, making a space at door. Female opened the door with a little golden key, which she pulled out of her pocket. She didnât look at him, when she was leaving his room. She didnât even look around, when she was walking along the long corridor, with that sweet swing in her hips. She was so hipnotizingâŚ
Bucky was surprised that she didnât lock his door again, but deep inside he knew it could be nothing more but trap, so he decided to not risk too much. He closed the door and he walked to his bed. He sat on the mattress, letting out a deep sigh. That woman started to annoy him. She was too confident. Too reinless. He thought that she has been through same tortures he has been through for all those years. Bucky slowly laid his head at the single pillow, looking up at the ceiling. He closed eyes, trying to fall asleep, but the sleep wouldnât want to come to him. Buckyâs thoughts were still going about Steve. He couldnât stop it. But finally, after several minutes, he fell asleep.
He had a nightmare. He was in a room filled with darkness. He heard a familiar voice. âTill the end of the line, Buck.â In next moment he felt a blade stabbed his heart.
He woke up, covered in a cold sweat. He had to find Steve.
Steve woke up groggy and very unsure of where he was. There were voices around him but Steve couldnât make out what they were saying, and there were metal bands being secured to different parts of his body, locking him in place in what felt like a chair. Something was shoved into his mouth.
The murmur of voices suddenly cut off and thenâŚ
PAIN.
The most intense pain Steve had ever felt, radiating throughout his head. He didnât know where it was coming from, but it was all consuming, keeping him from thinking about anything except the pain. Eventually, the pain stopped. And then, after a while, it started up again.
Steve opened his eyes slowly, giving himself time to adjust to the new light. When there were no more spots in his eyes he could see a tiled ceiling above him, florescent lights spaced evenly throughout it.
After a few moments of wondering, Steve sat up and looked around. He was lying in a small bed in a small room. It felt familiar, looking similar to a single hospital room.
Suddenly some unfamiliar figure entered to the room. âCaptain, itâs very good to see you awakeâ the manâs voice was smooth and he took a few extra steps into the room. Steve stood up to greet him, and shook his hand when the man offered his. âWhere am I?â Steve asked simply, trying to remember, who that man might be. âYouâre in the Complex Zeroâ man uttered slightly. âYouâre working for our organization, Captain.â Steveâs brow went up in a consternation when four armed soldiers entered the room, taking places next to the door.
Steve cleared his throat anxiously. âIf you donât mind my asking, Sir, what exactly is going on?â Man looked him over for a few moments, before he spoke. âCaptain Rogers, we are going to reveal to you some information that youâre really not going to like. But, once you understand, I believe that you will see that we are on the right side of this.â Steve only felt more confusion. âOf course, Sir⌠Iâm sure whatever you have to tell me canât be that badâŚright?â âAlright, Captain Rogersâ man sighed, âthe truth of the matter is that we work for an organization, in fact, Iâm one of the heads of said organization, that fights against what you might consider âthe right thing.â We fight for the people, if you give people too much freedom, such horrible things can happen. Two World Wars, for example, and so many other wars. Our organizationâs purpose is to help the worldâs population in making the decisions that they are not ready to make. We do good work, Captain Rogers.â
Steve frowned. âIâŚdonât understandâ he admitted. âWhy would I be against that? I mean, it just sounds like youâre doing what a government would do, right? Youâre making the big decisions so everyone else doesnât have to. Isnât that what our government has always done?â
One of the soldiers smiled widely. âPrecisely, Captain Rogers. Weâre just doing what anyone else would do.â
âSoâŚwhy, exactly, would I be against it?â Everyone in the room tensed ever so slightly. After a few tense moments, man in the suit sighed. âBecause we go by the name Hydra, Captain.â
For a few seconds it was so silent. Then Steve was in motion, sprinting towards the door. People cursed, and Steve felt two pairs of hands clamp down on him. He managed to yank out of three of the hands, but one had a good grip and didnât let go of his shirt. Steve reached the door anyway, but there was nothing he could do - the door was biometrically locked. Steve whirled around, coming face to face with the soldier, who owned the hand still grasping his shirt. Steve slammed a fist into the manâs face, which made him stumble away, but then another man was suddenly there,throwing punches and kicking out.
When the two of them managed to pin him, there was the slight pinch on his neck of a needle sliding in, and after another moment, his vision faded to black.
It has been three or four days since the moment, when he and Steve have been captured by Hydra. Bucky couldnât bear with the feeling of an anxiety about Steve, so he decided to try to find his friend. Using the fact his doors werenât locked, Bucky slowly opened them and walked at the corridor. He looked around, but there were no guards or soldiers, so brunette apace walked ahead.
Iâm wasted⌠All I wanna do is find you. Iâm faded⌠All I wanna do is save you.
All the corridors were similar, but he was taking the way instinctively. He knew that place as his own pocket. It was easy for him to find a correct way to the laboratory level. He had a feeling that Steve was there.
Bucky rapidly opened the huge metal door at the end of one of the corridors and he needed to blink few times. An alburnum of the next corridor has blinded him for a while. When his eyes got used to it, he started to walk along the corridor, faster and faster with each step.
Suddenly he heard a loud scream and he recognised the voice. It was Steve. Bucky ran ahead, as fast as he only could. At the end of the corridor he fell at few guards, they were trying to stop him, but Bucky attacked them with all his might. As soon as they all were down, he forced the door in and he steeped into the small room. There was only a huge window opposite him, so Barnes walked to it. He looked through it and paled.
He saw a huge laboratory room. There was a single metal chair in the middle of the room. And there Steve was sitting⌠Bucky hitted in the window few times, but it was a bulletproof tempered glass. It only caused that few doctors raised their heads to give him a look. Bucky was cursing loudly, still hitting the windowâs glass. He sweared to himself that heâll kill them all. For what they did to SteveâŚ
There was also a man, dressed in a black suit. He threw Bucky a rude gaze, a mischief grin appeared on manâs face.
Suddenly Bucky felt a strong blow in the back of his head. He fell in the ground, loosing his senses.
âAny progress?â Steve knew that voice, but he couldnât place where from.
âItâs the same each day. The first six hours after the wipe are perfect, heâs just like The Soldier, taking orders without question, doing anything and everything we require of him. However, after that, he continuing gets better and better until, at twenty-four hours, heâs the same man he was before the wipe. Weâre at eleven hours right now. Itâs quite remarkable, really, the way the serum in his blood works, regenerating his brain cells again and again without fault.â
There was a sound of annoyance, and then there was a hand on his chin, lifting his head. Steve blinked blearily, his vision a little foggy, and looked up at the sort-of-familiar face now hovering in front of him. It was a man in suit, with glasses, who was looking at him curiously.
âAre you in there, Captain?â the manâs mouth moved and the words came out, but they seemed disconnected in Steveâs mind. Steve didnât know how to reply to the words, didnât particularly understand what they meant, so he just stared back at the man and tried to remember where heâd seen him before. Nothing was clicking, so Steve gave up on trying, it would come back to him eventually. ProbablyâŚ
Steve yanked against the metal bands restraining him to the chair, glaring at all of the technicians in the room. They all seemed to be waiting for something, none of them meeting his eyes. Frankly, Steve didnât really know why they werenât wiping him again, thatâs what they always did when he fully regained himself again. Steve didnât quite know why, if they knew he was going to get his fully memory back after twenty-four hours, why keep trying? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Finally, the door to the room slid open and in walked man named Aiden Black, the freaking head of Hydra. He was dressed, as per usual, in a tailored three-piece suit. Redhead female came in behind him, in her normal fitted black shirt and pants, and black leather jacket. âGood morning, Captain. I trust you slept well?â Black said congenially, hands in his trouser pockets. Steve simply glared back, scowling, not giving them any response. At his lack of answer, Black simply shrugged. âAh, well. It doesnât matter. Iâm here to talk to you about your new and complete loyalty to Hydra.â
Steve couldnât help but scoff at that. âYouâre out of your goddamn mind if you actually think that Iâm going to ever be loyal to Hydra. I wonât do a single thing for you, Black.â
Black just gave a knowing smile and tilted his head. âWeâll see about that. Bring him in!â Suddenly, the door slid open again and few soldiers walked in, looking slightly smug, which was a little disconcerting considering the circumstances. Behind one of the soldiers was another man. The man had shoulder-length brown hair and a metal arm, but that wasnât the weirdest thing Steve had ever seen and the manâs faceâŚ
Oh shit.
âB-Bucky?â Steve stuttered out.
It was Bucky, but, at the same time, it wasnât. His face was expressionless, his eyes staring lifelessly at the wall far behind Steve. His arms hung loosely at his sides, fingers not even twitching as he stood, perfectly still. There was something so⌠blank about him, something so dead, that it made a shudder run up Steveâs spine.
âQuite the sight, isnât he?â Black said proudly, going to stand by Buckyâs side. He put a hand on Buckyâs shoulder and Steve yanked against his bindings at the sight, snarling and gnashing his teeth like a wild animal. âHis arm, itâs been modified throughout the years as the world had a lot of technological advances, but itâs quite similar to the original model.â
Seeing Bucky standing in front of him was life changing, even though Bucky wasnât quite himself.
âYouâre a smart man, Captain Rogers, Iâm sure you can put the pieces together. How does Mr. Barnes fit into your new loyalty to us?â The blonde snarled, understanding perfectly. âIf I donât cooperate, if I donât do everything you say, youâll hurt him. Youâll hurt Bucky.â
Black nodded, satisfied. âExactly, Captain Rogers, you got it in one. Now, you are going to be released from that chair, and you are not going to attack anyone. If you do, well, you will be subdued and Mr. Barnes will be hurt. Have I made myself clear?â Steve nodded, resigned and Black nodded to one of the technicians, who pushed a couple buttons on his computer and the metal bands holding Steve down snapped open. Steve immediately jumped to his feet and rushed to Buckyâs side, murmuring his name.
Black took a few steps towards the door, and then turned back. âOh, one last thing, Captain Rogers. Hidden away in Mr. Barnesâs metal arm is not only a tracking devise that works anywhere in the world, but an explosive devise that will make him and anything within two-hundred feet of him go boom. So I want to make myself very clear, Captain, if you try to escape, whether youâre on mission with Mr. Barnes or just hanging about this facility, I will not hesitate to push a button and make sure you wonât even be able to scrape pieces of him off the sidewalk, heâll be so demolished.â
There was a pause, and then Aiden Black smiled, completely at ease. âI look forward to us working together, Captain.â
Imagine:Â Steve Rogers finally tells Tony about his feelings toward him
ââŚso, yea, Steve. Iâm fucking seriousâ Tony was leaning his forearm against a large window, in his office, at one of the highest floors of S.H.I.E.L.D. base.
Steve was still walking around the room, looking for any clues or ideas to end a conflict between him and Mr Stark. Again, they were arguing about Sokovia Protocol. âYou know my statement in the caseâ Steve finally shrugged, taking a seat on a leather couch and crossing his legs nicely. âI wonât change my mind. You know that Avengers are yet devided by thisâ his voice sounded more firmly than he was planning to.
Tony growled, turning around to face Steve. âLiar!â he snorted. âWeâre not divided by THIS. Weâre divided only by YOUR sick visions, Rogersâ Tony briefly ran his fingers through his black hair. âIf you wouldnât start to give them arguments to not do it, all of them would sign it a long time ago!â Steve only rolled his eyes, looking at the ceiling. âShame on you, Stark. Your fucking decision about even give it a chance! It changed everything. If you wouldnât promise government that youâll take a look at that, everything will be as it wasâ Steve slowly was getting frustrated. He was still trying to explain his point of view, but Tony seemed to screw it all.
Stark sighed, clinching hands in fists as he turned with his back to Steve once again that day. âYou think youâre a Mr know-it-all, donât you, Steve?â the simple question hung between two men like a sharp knife. Rogers stayed silent, however deep inside in his soul he was fighting with himself. He just wanted to get up, walk to Tony and just punch him straight in the face. ButâŚ
It was impossible to him to do it. Because he felt something to that guy. He didnât want to admit it even in front of himself, but it was a true. He fell for Tony long time ago. When there was good. Notwithstanding, he never found a courage to tell his friend about that feelingâŚ
Suddenly something, a little cheeky voice, which was coming from back of Steveâs head, said: âDo it now or youâll lose him, you fucking coward!â
Steve cleared his throat and still trying to stay calm, he got up and walked to Tony. He placed his large palm at Starkâs shoulder before he spoke. âOkay. You won. Maybe itâs exactly like you said it. But, please..â Steveâs voice got weaker immediately when Tony turned his face to him. Only one look into those beautiful hazel eyes of Tony made Captain vulnerable.
The awkward silence prevailing between them has been interrupted by Starkâs strong voice. âFinally, Steve. What happend, that you finally understood it?â
But Steve wasnât definelty listening to Tonyâs words. He found a courage to take Tonyâs face in his palms, to pull black-haired man closer and finally to kiss his friend.
Steve felt that Stark was more than surprised by that action, Tonyâs muscles stiffened in a second. But he didnât push Steve away. No. He did it not.
After a few seconds Stark broke the kiss to look deeply into Rogersâ blue eyes. âFuck, Steve⌠what the fuck..â Captain let out a quiet whimper. âI had to. I just.. I canât explain that. It just happend. I think I fell for you. Months ago. Just⌠I just couldnât tell you earlier.â
Steve was the most scared of a rejection. But at the moment blonde man was happy that finally he managed to tell Tony the truth about hia feelings.
Stark cleared his throat and with pale face took a little step back. âSteve.. for fuckâs sake.. what Iâm supposed to do now.. what are you expecting from me? Itâs⌠I need time to think of it..â Captainâs eyes sparkled with kind of a hope. âJust promise me⌠that even if⌠if you wonât feel the same.. that weâll stay friends. I just canât think of a day when youâll go away..â Steveâs voice shivered a bit as he was speaking. Tony rubbed his chin, nodding slowly. âOkay. That I can guarantee you for sure.â
Steve smiled gently, then he quickly left Starkâs office, leaving Tony with an vortex of a thoughts.
He had to be wiped again. It took five men to get him into the chair, and three to get the rubber guard in his mouth. He sweared heâll kill them all. If he will remember. If he willâŚ
If youâre not close to someone, you wonât miss them when theyâre gone.
The war against Hydra has started again.
Steveâs heart was broken. Bucky. His Bucky was ALIVE. The man he missed for all those years, the man he thought has died. The lost friend⌠He was ALIVE. He was in a reach of his hand, but once again Steve has failed. He let them take Bucky away.
Captain was sitting in his room, at the desk with a little lamp on it. He was drawing, as he used to do in a good times. He drew a man. A man with dark hair and a wicked smile and pain behind his eyes. The picture caused a pain in Steveâs chest so intense, he wasted precious lead scribbling over it until the image was obliterated before he torn it up. He let out a short scream, letting tears to run down his cheeks. Bucky. HIS FRIEND.
Steve slipped hands in his blonde hair, he lowered his head, closing the blue eyes of his.
He remembered the way Bucky looked at him when he called his name. Steve saw, how confused man was. He seemed to not remember things. It was Bucky, that was obvious, but he was STRANGE. Of course he had changed, his hair were longer, he had a beard. And finally, he had a pain behind his eyes.. Ineffable pain. It was Bucky, but at the same it wasnât him. Steve couldnât recognize his friend in those blue eyes. It was the foe.
A subtle knocking to his door roused him from thoughtfulness. âCome inâ he said simply, closing his sketchbook. The door has opened and Sam walked in. âI came to check if you need somethingâ Wilson said slowly, with kind of a hesitation in his voice. Steve gave a sad smile to his friend, shaking head slightly. âAll I need is to find HIM, but you know thatâ Captain rose from a chair and walked to the large window with a view at the Potomac River. He leaned his forearm against a cold glass, letting out a loud sigh. Falcon for a moment was standing still, but then he slowly walked to Captain and put his palm on manâs shoulder. âI knowâ he affirmed. Steve lifted his chin and turned head to face Sam. âI have a feeling Iâve lost him againâ that short statement was the only thing Captain could say at the moment. Falcon looked straight into his friendâs eyes. âWeâll find him, but first of all you have to convince our management to this idea. Natasha is injured, I donât think theyâll just let you bring Barnes here. Itâs too dangerous. Heâs a⌠lunatic.â âSAMâ Steveâs face has stiffened in a second. âHydra has a control over him. It wasnât himâŚâ Falcon took a step back, now both of his palms were placed at Steveâs shoulders. âItâs hard for you and I respect it. But someone has to stay with clear mind. Let me be a voice of rationalityâ sad smile appeared on Samâs face as he spoke. âYou canât just throw everything and go to look for him. Even you wonât manage it. Heâs a ghost. And I think they changed his location. We have to prepare a plan. We need to have a support from above, so Fury has to accept your idea before youâll take any actionsâ Sam cocked brow at Steve, looking for a confirmation if his friend understands his words. Captain with a deep sigh gave a slight nod. âVery goodâ Sam patted Steveâs back. âYou shall restâ he added quickly, taking hands off blonde manâs shoulders. âDonât worry. Now, when we know heâs alive, itâll be easier to track him downâ after the last sentence, Falcon quietly left the room, leaving Steve alone with his thoughts.
Bucky had a nightmare again. But this time it was something new. It was as if God had adjusted the colours of the world in the night, like it was as easy as twisting one of those old plastic dials on a TV set. Everything was brighter than it should be, the trees were not just green but radiant virescent hues that burned themselves in Buckyâs sleepy retinas. The houses were as grey as if theyâd been repainted by moonlight and now stood vibrant in the golden rays that fell unfettered though the clear sky. The road that should be grey was a sleek river of black with perfect paint lines and the street, lamps were blue. But they had never been blue, not ever. Everything was so right it was wrong - really wrong. The front yards that had been dishevelled with the decrepitude of late winter just yesterday were a riot of colourful blooms. Bucky turned back to look at his house, the curtain twitched. Someone was in there. He hurried to the front door only to find it was locked. Suddenly Bucky heard familiar voice, it came from behind. Brunette slowly turned around. In front of him his last target was standing, without hesitation. Captain America, Steve Rogers. His skin was pale, his big eyes seemed to glow in a blue light of the street lamps. He was wearing a military uniform, its colour also wasnât normal, a mix of black with radiant blue. âDo you remember all the danger we came from?â man asked. Bucky couldnât say a word. Some kind of an invisible force overwhelmed his entire body. âIâm longing for the days of no surrender, years agoâ Captain continued. âTo all the things Iâve lost on you, tell me, Bucky, are they lost on you? Just that you could cut me loose after everything Iâve lost on you?â The Soldier trembled slightly, he wanted to take a step backward, but something was keeping him in a place. âSo smoke âem if you got 'em 'cos itâs going downâ blonde man said, taking a pistol out of his pocket. He aimed and shot in Buckyâs head.
Bucky woke up, trembling all over his body, covered in cold sweat. He sat on his bed, his eyes werenât accustomed to the darkness, so he blinked few times. The target. He knew that man. He used to know him⌠He was sure now.
Bucky rose up and went to the little, dingy bathroom located on the corridor. Once he was there, he quickly splashed his face with a cold water, then he lifted chin and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He only noticed a pair of sad, frightened blue eyes. He was pale, he desperately needed a shave. He clenched hands in fists and with metal one he simply hit in the mirror. Glass with a loud bang has crashed into hundreds of small pieces. At the same time Bucky squalled targets name, slowly slumping to his knees.
After long argument with Fury, Steve finally received the assent to look for Bucky and to bring him to the S.H.I.E.L.D base. Now the race against time has started.
"I'm telling you, you're doing this in a wrong way, Steve" Bucky exclaimed, rolling his eyes.
He and Steve were sitting in a house of their common friends, babysitting a little son of them.
Steve was trying to feed the baby using a little bottle with milk. The problem was the liquid was cold. Bucky sighed slightly, carefully talking the bottle out of Steve's hand. "Give it to me. He's going to be sick if you'll feed him with a cold milk!" brunette growled softly, putting the bottle into the pot filled with a warm water. "It shall has a room temperature."
Steve grinned, looking at his friend. "I didn't know you know that much about children" he pointed out, smirking.
Bucky only gave him a gaze above his shoulder, checking the milk temperature with his finger. "Nah. It's just an instinct.." he explained shortly, walking back to the living room. He sat down next to Steve and handles the bottle to the blonde.
Steve took it and started to feed baby again. This time baby boy chuckled, waving his little chubby hands, trying to catch Steve's fingers. Bucky giggled softly, watching that scene.
When the baby was fed, Steve carefully patted boy's back. Holding baby tight in his arms, Rogers walked to the kitchen to put the bottle into the sink. Bucky stretched his back, leaning himself against the back of the couch. Suddenly to his ear came a little sobbing. He looked at the side and noticed Steve, who was trying to calm baby down - little boy was crying now, greedily taking his breaths. "Oh, come on Steve, sing for him!" Bucky smirked happily, watching as his friend walked upstairs to put baby to the cradle.
Later, in the night, Bucky has beem awoken by a loud cry. Sleepy, he got out of the bed located in a guest room and he took his steps straight into a baby's bedroom. Little boy was crying aloud, a huge tears were falling down his cheeks. Man, as carefully as he was able to, took child into his arms. "Hey, baby boy.." he whispered in a soft voice of his. "Why are you crying?" Bucky gently grabbed little chubby finger to shake it a bit. It only caused a wave of giggles coming out of a little mouth of the boy. Bucky couldn't help but giggled too, starting to rock the baby and humming some Russian lullaby at the same time.
Finally, when boy fell asleep again and Bucky put him back into the cradle, he heard a soft voice behind his back. "That was incredibly sweet."
It was Steve. He was standing in a door frame, smiling brightly. Even in the dark, Bucky was able to see that sparks in on his friend's eyes. However he only nodded, smiling too. "I've been telling you. It's nothing more but instinct" brunette shrugged playfully, boxing Steve's side before he left the room.
