She/her. Recently got back into drawing, wanted a spot to post and encourage myself to keep at it. Mostly my doodles but also other creative interests, music, food etc. Enjoy 😊

A quick 10 minute pencil sketch. Just a few lines to remember what drawing humans feels like.
May and June was when I hit, not a road block, but more of a speed bump in my art journey. I stared to feel the desire to move forward from just following along to tutorials, but also insecurity at creating without guidance. I had to remind myself nothing starts out perfect and it’s okay to make mistakes.
I always did best when using a picture as a guide, and I actually used to love drawing people. I didn’t have the confidence to start with them, hence all the landscapes 😊, but wanted to get back into humans/people. I found a picture on Google images to use as a reference and did this quick warm up using the default pencil brushes.

Inktober 2024 - Day 3 “Boots”
Temporarily interrupting my usual chronological posts with a bit of more ‘contemporary and time sensitive’ ones.
I’ve never participated in Inktober before, although I’d seen it mentioned here and there, granted I’ve never had an art blog before. Since I now have one, I thought why not try it out. I don’t think I’ll do all the prompts. It’ll mostly depend on the subject and my time, but let’s see if I can manage more than one 😁
Had 20 minutes to spare this morning so tried day 3, boots. Honestly, was a bit too tired to be very creative so I just went literal. Behold, a pair of old boots. I used the default ink brushes, since it’s ‘ink’tober 😁. Alternated between ink roll, dry ink and ink bleed. It’s actually a good excuse to try different brushes and techniques.
Inktober 2024 Day 5 - Binoculars
Had a few spare minutes after lunch so tried for the fifth prompt of binoculars.
Decided to be a bit more ambitious this time, a person using binoculars and in colour! Found an image on Google as a quick reference and used the default ink brushes. Not super happy with the face and shadows, but that’s as far as I’m feeling it for now, it’ll do 😊.
Reflections in the Water
Went back to the gouache brushes for this one. I picked a photo I took ages ago of a boat prow reflecting in the water. I thought it would be simple enough. Eh 🤷♀️, at least I practiced the liquify feature 😊
Arum Flower
Sometimes to get over a hump, you just have to go forward. Tried to draw an arum flower from a quick snapshot I took at the local Home Depot. Not bad, I used the Bardot gouache brushes for this one.
The picture I took as a reference.
A Sea of Blue
One of James Julier’s older tutorials, the Pacific Islands landscape. Pretty blues 😊
