One Of My Favorite Things In A Fic Is When The Author Alludes To An Event And You Don't Get More Detail,

One of my favorite things in a fic is when the author alludes to an event and you don't get more detail, it is offhanded, in reference to something and you just have to wonder about it. It's wonderful to sit and think, but why were they doing that? Why that thing? (in this case smuggling a goat. Why did they smuggle a goat? Why a goat of all things?) Seriously, it always makes me giggle.

One should always have at least 2 craft projects going. That way, when one of them is messed up and misbehaving, you can switch to another, and let the first one sit there and think about what it's done.

I like having a naming system for my chapters. One for Sorrow is easy. All the chapters are a line of the nursery rhyme or a lyric from a song based on the nursery rhyme. It makes it much easier for me to hit send on a chapter. Other fics... the hardest part is when the chapter is written and I'm on ao3 on the submission page and staring down the blank chapter title box.

So the other day my daughter decided to prove to me she could stand still for the 20 minutes she asked her brother to (she wanted to "portrait" him). With five minutes left I decided to sketch her. And I did. It's real funny cause it looks like her and it's terrible quality. So she asked me to color her. I almost forgot. So I spent 20 minutes flat coloring this portrait. I'll let you know if she roasts me in the morning.

I know I mentioned toucan before. But this made me laugh.

I know that that means today. I cannot remember the Chinese word, but I know that those two characters is today. So.... That is a thing.
