idk there's something so very playing the game the 'correct' way and still losing and then cheating at the game and losing even more that is so compelling to me about Diaspro's romantic and especially political and social situation especially considering season 3. sometimes the powers that be tell you you're a sure winner and then sometimes they set you up to lose, whether those powers are the nobility of Eraklyon or whether it's Valtor or whether it's the narrative itself. And you're not enough of a loser for people to start to root for you but you're not enough of a winner to ever get what you were promised, doesn't that suck?
