strange headcanon that William's mom had really bad postpartum depression and she told him about it to make him appreciate his extended family more, so some of his clearest childhood memories of his mother are of her detailing how she nearly strangled him in his cradle or thought of bashing his head in with a tea pot and it was all thanks to the help from his uncles that she didn't actually do it.
