after a chat with the Bowuigi discord I decided to upload the 'Change' comic on tapas just so it had another home that wasn't just Tumblr lol. did my best to resize the pages as the comic was not drawn in a standard format.

ill probably duel upload the sequel to both tumblr and tapas once i got that ready to post.

"oh but I need AI to -" just pick up a pencil and create!!!!! take joy in the act of bringing something out of your brain and into physical space! it doesn't have to be GOOD it doesn't have to be perfect!!!!! JUST CREATE! slap some colours onto a canvas - or a chunk of cardboard or a cool big rock or some wood! abstract or liquid pour or splatters!!!! Use a primary printer pencil or a cheap mechanical pencil or a fancy set of sketch pencils it doesnt matter - just sketch and experiment! Use stuff from the dollar store or even see if your city has an art supply recyle program/depo - mine does! its all pay what you can! its great! paint like a child. paint intutively. go with the flow! get some cheap clay and experiement with random junk around your house for texture making! IT DOENT HAVE TO BE PERFECT OR GOOD IT JUST HAS TO BE FUN!!!!!!! Just experiment with technique and medium until you find something that sparks joy! I promise the act of creation is so much more satisfying for the mind and soul than just typing in a phrase and generating a "pretty picture"

So I want to give some updates on the sequel to 'Change' and what it's about.

The sequel will take place about a year after the 'Change' comic. I will be posting updates in 'chapters'. Each chapter is about 10-30 comic pages. So as you can tell, they will take longer to get out. My comic updates will be more infrequent because the updates will be larger. I feel this is the best way to do the updates as the story works better when told via chapter releases.

I have had chapter one finished since September. However, I'm posting chapter one and chapter two together. The reason for this is i believe chapter one on its own will be confusing without the context of chapter two (chapter one features one of the last times you see human bowser, after chapter one, its 99% koopa bowser).

I'm working on chapter two right now. Chapter two has a lot of background detail that will take some time to complete.

This all said, some things to know about the sequel:

If you enjoyed the feel good happy story of 'change' and only like feel good stories, the sequel may not be for you. It's fine to stop reading there and that story wraps up well on its own if that's how you want to leave the ending as a reader.

The sequel will be more action/adventure with some heavy topics in it. I don't do graphic gore, or any scenes that are overly graphic in my work. That said, the topics covered in the sequel could be upsetting to some, and I will tag each chapter appropriately. Despite all this I believe in happy endings, so consider it 'angst/adventure with a happy ending'.

The sequel will also heavily feature king boo as the antagonist, and he will be drawn in the gejinka form I created for him months ago.

All that said, I really hope those of you who choose to read the sequel enjoy it. I'm putting a lot of work into it, and it will be much, much longer than the 'change' comic.

The sequel is called 'Built to burn', titled after the shafer james song I was listening to that inspired me.

I should have the first post for the sequel out by February, and will keep everyone updated if the time frame changes. I do have the cover art for the sequel done, however I decided I don't like the cover art I did and will be making a new cover. I'll try and get the cover out early in January.

well the page with king boo has been done for a long while, but the page with Luigi is the one I'm working on right now. I just wanted to post some progress shots of everyone being sad/upset lol.

Anyways, I'm on track to have the update ready by the end of the month, so that's exciting!

it's a xmas miracle i got this out on time lmao. Anyway I can't believe the comic is finished! Was a long journey but I'm so proud I was able to see it to the end without giving up.

(also little Easter egg; I used official art of yoshi's island ds for the painting in Luigi's living room)

I hope the comic was everything everyone wanted. I had a great time working on it and all the positive comments really encouraged me to continue.

I am working on the sequel btw! I actually have a bit of it done already and hope to post stuff about it sometime next year.

It honestly started out as a practice sketch to draw @untoldsoup's Human/Gijinka Bowser but I got serious and even drew Bowuigi because why not? So yeah, some fanart for the lovely artist! I LOVE their "Change" comic and awaiting the sequel "Built to Burn" while prepping for my final exam.
